Where Healing Begins Series 2 Ep.1

Burnout doesn’t start at breaking point ... it starts quietly. In the first episode of Series 2, NHS paramedic Nettee opens an honest and grounded conversation about mental health, healing, and why so many people wait until crisis before asking for help.Drawing on frontline experience in emergency care, Nettee shares why healing needs to begin before burnout, breakdown, or emotional collapse, not after.Joined by two guests working deeply in wellbeing and holistic healing, this episode explores:What mental health struggles really look like before crisisWhy high-functioning people often miss the warning signsHow practices like aromatherapy, meditation, and breathwork support healingThe lasting mental health impact of COVID and life after lockdownSimple ways to begin a healing journey that actually feels accessibleThis episode is for anyone who:Feels “fine” but exhaustedIs supporting others while neglecting themselvesWants to understand their mental health before it reaches crisisThis is not about fixing yourself. It’s about listening sooner.

This Is Where You Start Part 2

In Part 2 of this conversation, we explore what healing looks like for high-performing people who are outwardly successful but internally exhausted. This episode is for leaders, professionals, and high achievers who live in constant motion — managing pressure, responsibility, and expectation — while quietly carrying racing thoughts, self-criticism, and nervous system overload. We discuss the unseen impact of trauma, chronic stress, and dissociation, particularly in high-intensity careers, and why traditional “switch off and relax” advice often doesn’t work for driven minds. We break down accessible forms of meditation and regulation — including movement, writing, creativity, grounding, and embodiment — designed for people who struggle to slow down. This conversation also explores identity, performance, and the inner critic; how small moments and words can alter confidence and direction; and why sustainable success requires learning how to come back into the body, not just push harder. If you’re highly capable, deeply driven, and quietly wondering “Is this sustainable?” — this episode offers perspective, permission, and a different way forward.

This Is Where You Start Part 1

In my very first episode of This Too Is Healing, I share why I started this podcast and the journey that led me here. From growing up in the countryside as the youngest of five, to years of performing under constant pressure, I learned perfectionism and self-criticism early. Those beliefs shaped my adult life, leading to anxiety, burnout and a deep personal need to understand mental health.Writing became my way through, from childhood diaries to a completed book born from a month of daily mindset messages. Now I’m bringing those conversations to the podcast, exploring how healing looks different for everyone. If you’ve ever felt “not good enough” or unsure where to start, this podcast is for you. Together we’ll share stories, strategies and real-life ways to care for our minds. In this episode of This Too Is Healing, I sit down with Yazmin, who stepped in at the perfect moment to share her personal journey. Together we explore what it means to finally allow yourself to be seen and heard, even when it feels uncomfortable or frightening. We talk about anxiety, identity and the masks we wear to keep the world at a safe distance, how letting those masks drop can bring us closer to our true selves. This heartfelt conversation is about finding space to reconnect with who we are and the courage it takes to share that journey out loud.I speak with Kirsty who is a runner, paramedic and fitness influencer, about the deeper connections between movement, mindset and healing.Kirsty shares her story of discovering how fitness and community helped her through some of life’s most difficult moments, from the challenges of military family life to experiencing depression for the first time. Together we all explore daily habits, the importance of saying “no” and therapeutic practices such as EMDR and shamanic journeying. This conversation is about more than physical fitness, it’s about finding your own path to feeling grounded, connected and whole.
