    Philly man arrested, charged in alleged road rage shooting

    A Philadelphia man is arrested, accused of shooting at a driver in what police are calling a road rage incident in Bethlehem. Jaime Alexander Paramo-Zamudio was taken into custody Wednesday and charged with attempted homicide and aggravated assault. It was early yesterday morning. when authorities say he fired a handgun through a woman's windshield while stopped at a red light at the intersection of Linden Street and Johnston Drive. The woman wasn't hit, but suffered minor injuries from the shattered glass. Police say the bullet also missed her 15-year-old son, who was sitting in the passenger seat. (Photo: Getty Images)

    Police recapture man who escaped South Jersey halfway house

    A man who police say escaped from a prison halfway house in Cumberland County, New Jersey is back in custody. Monroe Township Police say they arrested 44-year-old Jerome Lindsey a little after 2 a.m. Thursday morning after responding to a report of a suspicious person prowling near a road just west of Williamstown. The officers discovered Lindsey had an arrest warrant for escaping the South Woods State Prison halfway house in Bridgeton Wednesday.     Philly Sheriff’s office could face outside oversight if deed issue is not resolved

    Common Pleas Court is ordering Sheriff Rochelle Bilal to provide a full accounting of every sale since she took office six years ago, along with a plan to handle payments and deliver deeds "promptly." The Inquirer reports Bilal or a representative from her office will have to appear at a public hearing in July to argue why a court-appointed "special master" should not be brought in to oversee the process. The order comes just weeks after Bilal told City Council her office was running "full blast."     Upper Darby Township police are looking for two men who are wanted in connection with an armed robbery on the 7100 block of Clover Lane near Crosley Avenue early Saturday morning. Police identify the suspects as Anthony Battle and Laqwone Bennett. Both men are considered armed and dangerous.     Massive pothole in Olney causes major issues for drivers

    People who live on the street have been calling the city about it for more than a year. It's at the intersection of Delphine and American streets. Trudy Ellerbee says it's gotten so big that it's almost impossible to avoid and catches drivers off guard. She and her neighbors have resorted to trying to fix it themselves. They've tried covering it with boards and filling it with stones and big rocks. The pothole is in Councilmember Cindy Bass's district. She says she is working with the city to get repairs done.     Whole Foods to replace South Square Supermarket in coming years

    A new Whole Foods is coming to Philadelphia. It'll be at the corner of 23rd and South streets, replacing the South Square Supermarket. The "Whole Foods Market Daily Shop" is smaller than typical grocery stores from the chain owned by Amazon, like the one 14 blocks away at 9th and South streets. No opening date has been set yet. The company says it'll be sometime in the next couple of years.

    Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner says he welcomes a public hearing to discuss the GOP's criticism of Philadelphia's immigration policies. The Republican chair of the House Judiciary Committee, Jim Jordan, sent a letter to the DA, the police commissioner and the sheriff that reads, “We write to request information about your office’s sanctuary policies, which ultimately endanger the communities you serve." Krasner says he has spoken with the city's attorney and the sheriff. The sheriff’s office had no comment. The city said the solicitor will handle a response to the committee’s request.     Man accused of making hit list of Pa. lawmakers due in court Thursday

    The man accused of making a hit list of Pennsylvania lawmakers is expected in court on Thursday for a preliminary hearing. 42-year-old Adam Berryhill of Lebanon, Pennsylvania, is charged with making terroristic threats. One state representative says he cried when he learned he was one of 20 Democratic state lawmakers on the list. Authorities say Berryhill posted pictures of the lawmakers alongside pictures of guns and threats to shoot them. He also mentioned a "Memorial Day Operation."     Medical Report: New study raises concerns about some popular weight loss drugs

    There is no doubt that the GLP-1 medications have been a major success story in healthcare. For people with obesity, the use of these medications can not only help them lose weight but also help control blood sugar, lower blood pressure, and improve liver health.     Convicted Delco sex offender captured in Florida

    A convicted sex offender from Delaware County wanted on repeat charges has been captured in Florida, where he'd apparently been living in the woods. US Marshals arrested 46-year-old Joseph Mazzoni in Naples. They shared photographs of a shelter, constructed from a tarp, tree trunks, and palm fronds. Authorities believe someone was helping him try to avoid capture. Mazzoni is facing charges involving images of child sexual abuse. He's awaiting extradition to Pennsylvania.     Warminster man pleads guilty to detonating explosive under former boss' car

    A Bucks County man admitted to a federal judge that he detonated an explosive device under his former boss’ car in South Jersey last year. Michael Takacs, 44, of Warminster pleaded guilty to transporting an explosive and could spend a decade in prison. Takacs was fired last spring. Months later, authorities say he drove to the house of his former boss in Delran and placed a homemade explosive device filled with nails under the car, and then hid nearby to detonate it using a remote. They say he was successful, but no one was hurt and that Takacs only wanted to intimidate his former boss. Takacs is set to be sentenced in the fall. (Photo: Getty Images)

    Philly police are investigating a shooting in West Philadelphia that put four people in the hospital Tuesday evening. According to officials, just after 5pm three men and one woman were shot near 42nd Street and Girard Avenue. Medics took two of the men to the hospital, while police transported the third one. The woman arrived at the hospital in a private vehicle. Officials say the four of them are in stable condition, but police did not say where they were hit.
