Episode #85-Refuse to Get Revenge
Tonight’s episode of The Bible Thumpers dives into the real, heart-level struggle of revenge and what God actually calls us to do instead. We’re talking about the thoughts we replay, the hurt we hold onto, and the temptation to “get even,” and how all of that quietly poisons our hearts if we let it. Through Scripture like Romans 12:19 and 1 Peter 2:23, we unpack what it means to follow Jesus when we’ve been wronged, how to set boundaries without bitterness, and why forgiveness is less about them and more about freeing ourselves. This one is honest, a little convicting, and full of truth that will challenge you to let go and trust God to handle what you can’t.

Episode #82-Week 7 of Clinging to the Cross
Week 7 brings us to the final stretch of Clinging to the Cross, where everything slows down and gets heavy in the most sacred way as we walk through Holy Week step by step. From the triumphant entry into Jerusalem to the quiet weight of the Last Supper, from the agony in the garden to the betrayal, the trials, and the cross, this week isn’t just a timeline… it’s an invitation to sit in it. We don’t rush past the hard parts. We feel the tension, the sorrow, the sacrifice. Every moment points to the depth of Jesus’ love and the reality that He knew exactly what was coming… and chose it anyway. This week centers on Mark 15:37–39 as we witness the final breath of Christ and the powerful declaration, “Surely this man was the Son of God.”But the story doesn’t end in silence… it ends in victory. As we reflect on the cross, we also cling to the hope that came three days later. This final week is about surrender, gratitude, and seeing the cross not just as something that happened, but as something deeply personal. It’s where everything changes. It’s where sin is paid for, grace is poured out, and we are invited into new life. Episode 82 wraps this study with full hearts, reminding us that the cross wasn’t the end… it was the beginning of everything.

Episode #80-Week 5 of Clinging to the Cross
This week on the Bible Thumpers podcast, we wrapped up Week 5 of Clinging to the Cross and wow… this one was real in the best kind of way. We dug into what it truly means to stay close to Jesus when life is heavy, when obedience feels hard, and when we don’t fully understand what God is doing. There was a lot of honest conversation about surrender, trust, and choosing Christ even when our flesh wants to run the other direction. And somewhere in the middle of all that depth, April comes in with a full-blown broccoli parable that somehow made us laugh and think at the same time. Only her. It was one of those moments that reminded us that God can use the simplest things to teach us something powerful if we are willing to listen. This episode really leans into the heart of Lent and what it means to not just talk about the cross, but to actually cling to it in our everyday lives. We talked about laying things down, letting God refine us, and learning to trust Him even when it feels uncomfortable. It hit close to home in a lot of ways, especially in those seasons where you are doing your best to stay faithful but still feel stretched thin. This one felt like sitting around the table together, being honest, laughing a little, and reminding each other that Jesus is still worth it, always.

Episode #79-Week 4 of Clinging to the Cross
Tonight on Episode 79 of The Bible Thumpers Podcast, we continue our Lent study “Clinging to the Cross” by The Daily Grace Co., digging into the powerful theme of repentance and God’s patience with His people. This week we spent time in Jeremiah 25:1–14, looking at the warnings God gave to Judah through the prophet Jeremiah and how His people repeatedly refused to listen. We also connected the passage with other Scriptures like Deuteronomy 28, Deuteronomy 30, and 2 Kings 17, showing how God had warned His people again and again before judgment came. The conversation turned into a deep and honest look at how easily people can ignore God’s voice, and how His discipline is always rooted in love and a desire to bring His people back to Him.As always, the conversation was full of Scripture, real talk, and those classic Bible Thumpers moments that happen when four friends gather around God’s Word. We talked about repentance, obedience, and the importance of actually listening when God speaks through His Word. Lent is a season that calls us to reflect on our hearts and draw closer to Christ, and this episode is a reminder that God is incredibly patient, but He also calls His people to respond. If you want a conversation that is honest, encouraging, and centered on Scripture, this is one you will not want to miss.

#78 Week 3 Clinging to the Cross by The Daily Grace Co.
Tonight on episode 78 of the Bible Thumpers podcast we continue week three of our Lent study Clinging to the Cross by The Daily Grace Co. In this episode we walk through powerful Old Testament passages that reveal the story of redemption unfolding long before the cross. From Moses calling Israel to choose life, to Rahab’s unexpected place in God’s plan, to the rise of David and the consequences of Israel’s rebellion, we explore how every part of Scripture points forward to Jesus. This week’s conversation gets deep as we talk honestly about sin, grace, obedience, and why humanity’s need for a Savior has been clear since the very beginning.Of course, it wouldn’t be a true Bible Thumpers episode without a little chaos along the way. April’s infamous chicken alarm makes an appearance again and gives us all a good laugh right in the middle of our discussion. But in between the laughs we get real about faith, struggles, and what it means to truly cling to the cross during the season of Lent. If you love real conversations about Scripture, a little humor, and a lot of truth, this episode is one you won’t want to miss.

Episode #77-Clinging to the Cross Week 2
Episode 77 of The Bible Thumpers Podcast dives into Week 2 of Clinging to the Cross by The Daily Grace Co., and this one is rich. We traced the scarlet thread of redemption from Noah and the ark to Abraham’s covenant, from Israel’s suffering in Egypt to the blood of the Passover lamb, and from the Day of Atonement to the once-for-all sacrifice of Christ. This week reminds us that the cross was not a last minute rescue plan. It was promised, prepared, and pictured for generations. Our memory verse from Exodus 2:24–25 anchored the entire conversation as we were reminded that God hears, remembers, sees, and knows. We talked covenant faithfulness, substitution, sacrifice, and the beauty of a God who keeps every promise He makes. If you have ever wondered how the Old Testament connects to the cross or why Lent matters, this episode will strengthen your confidence in Scripture and deepen your awe of Christ’s finished work. Redemption is woven through history, and tonight we followed that thread all the way to Jesus.

Episode 76-Ash Wednesday Week 1 Clinging to the Cross
Tonight’s episode felt extra meaningful as we gathered on Ash Wednesday, the beginning of Lent, and opened our new study Clinging to the Cross by The Daily Grace Co. We slowed down and really talked through what Lent actually is, not just tradition but intention. We explored why believers historically set aside this season to reflect, repent, and refocus their hearts on Christ’s sacrifice. We also unpacked the meaning behind Ash Wednesday itself, the reminder of our humanity, our need for grace, and the beauty of turning back toward God with humility. The conversation was honest, thoughtful, and deeply encouraging as we worked through the purpose behind the practices instead of just the practices alone.April was missed tonight, but the table was still full of laughter, real questions, and heartfelt moments as we started this journey together. If you have ever wondered whether Lent matters, whether it is biblical, or how to approach it without getting lost in empty ritual, this episode is for you. We are not just talking about giving things up, we are talking about clinging to Christ. Come sit with us as we begin the season by grounding our hearts in truth, grace, and the cross that changes everything.

Episode #74-Part 2 Malachi 3 and 4
Episode 74 of The Bible Thumpers takes us into the final warning and final hope of the Old Testament as we open up Malachi chapters 3 and 4. Tonight we talk about the God who refines, not ignores, His people and why His love sometimes shows up as conviction instead of comfort. We wrestle with the idea of robbing God, what real repentance actually looks like, and why faithfulness matters even when it feels like the wicked are winning. This conversation keeps pulling us back to the same truth. God sees, God remembers, and God never changes even when our hearts drift. Then we turn toward the promise that closes the Old Testament, the coming Day of the Lord and the rising of the Sun of Righteousness. We unpack judgment, healing, restoration, and the beautiful way Malachi points straight to Jesus and the coming of John the Baptist. This episode is honest, encouraging, and deeply grounding because it reminds us that God’s correction is not rejection and His silence is never absence. If you’ve ever wondered whether obedience matters or if God really notices quiet faithfulness, this one is for you.

Episode #73-Malachi Part 1
Episode 73 was one of those sit down stay awhile kind of episodes and we had the best time digging into Malachi chapters 1 and 2 together. We open up this powerful little book and immediately step into God’s heart for true worship, honest obedience, and leaders who actually live what they teach. Malachi does not tiptoe around hard truths and neither do we. We talk about half hearted sacrifices, spiritual apathy, and what it really means to honor God with our whole lives instead of just our Sunday words. Expect Scripture rich conversation, real talk, plenty of Bible Thumpers rabbit trails, and those moments where the Word hits a little close to home in the best way possible. And because this is Bible Thumpers, we also celebrated Brooke’s birthday which made the episode extra fun and full of laughter. There is joy, sisterhood, a whole lot of love, and that familiar kitchen table Bible study feel that makes you feel like you are right there with us. If you love deep Bible study that is bold but warm, convicting but encouraging, and serious about Scripture while still having fun, this episode is for you. Grab your Bible, your coffee, and come hang out with us as we thump our way through Malachi and remind ourselves that God is worthy of our very best.

Episode #72-Acts Part 12-Chapters 27 & 28
Tonight’s episode was a big one as we wrapped up our full 12 week journey through the book of Acts by diving into chapters 27 and 28. We followed Paul through the chaos of the shipwreck, the fear of the storm, the faith that steadied him when everyone else was panicking, and the powerful way God used even disaster to accomplish His purposes. From a snake bite that should have killed Paul to unexpected ministry on the island of Malta, these final chapters reminded us that nothing can stop the gospel when God is in it. We celebrated how Acts ends not with a neat bow, but with boldness, hope, and the reminder that the story of the church is still being written today. This episode was full of laughs, rabbit holes, and plenty of off subject banter because that is just how Bible Thumpers roll. There were funny moments, spontaneous side trails, and those classic moments where we meant to stay on track and absolutely did not. Even with all the joy and energy, we definitely felt the absence of Marie tonight and missed her wisdom, grounding presence, and perfectly timed insights. Still, it was a really good episode filled with truth, humor, and gratitude as we closed out this incredible study of Acts together.

Episode #71-Acts Part 11 Chapters 24-26
In tonight’s episode of the Bible Thumpers podcast, we dig into Acts chapters 24 through 26 and walk through one of the most powerful courtroom scenes in Scripture. Paul stands before governors and kings, not fighting for his freedom, but faithfully proclaiming the gospel. We talk about delayed justice, hardened hearts, and what it looks like to remain obedient when God’s timing feels painfully slow. From Felix putting off conviction, to Festus trying to keep the peace, to Agrippa being almost persuaded, these chapters show us how close someone can be to the truth and still walk away unchanged. As always, there are deep dives, Scripture connections, and real life application mixed with plenty of laughter. April delivers a surprisingly perfect parable involving milk that somehow makes the whole conversation click, and we lean into the beauty of testimony, endurance, and trusting God in the waiting. This episode is honest, encouraging, and a reminder that the gospel cannot be chained, even when circumstances feel stuck. If you have ever struggled with waiting on God or wondered why obedience does not always bring immediate relief, this conversation is for you.

Episode #69-Advent Week 4
This week’s episode wraps up our Advent study and leads us right into Christmas, and it was such a meaningful and heartfelt time together. We lit the love candle and the Christ candle, reminding ourselves that the entire Christmas story is rooted in God’s love and fulfilled in Jesus Himself. We talked about what it truly means to prepare our hearts, not just our homes, and to pause in the middle of the busyness to remember why we celebrate at all. This episode is full of reflection, Scripture, laughter, and that familiar Bible Thumpers warmth that feels like sitting around the table together as Christmas draws near.As always, real life showed up in the best way, including a hilarious interruption from Cassandra’s husband who had no idea we were recording and gave us all a good laugh. We missed April so much tonight, and while she couldn’t be with us, she had bigger things going on and could truly use everyone’s prayers right now. This episode holds space for joy, love, and compassion, and we are so grateful for each listener who has walked through Advent with us. Thank you for being part of our Bible Thumpers family. Episode #68-Advent Week 3
Tonight on the podcast we continued our Advent journey with Week Three, lighting the third candle and focusing on the theme of joy. We spent time in Luke 2:1–21, slowing down to take in the birth of Jesus and everything surrounding that holy night. We talked about the meaning and weight of Jesus’s name, how God entered the world in humility, and how the greatest moment in history arrived quietly, wrapped in obedience, faith, and trust rather than spectacle. We also reflected on Mary and her posture in the middle of it all. Scripture tells us that she treasured these things and pondered them in her heart, and we talked about what it looks like to pause, absorb, and hold onto what God is doing rather than rushing past it. This episode is a reminder that joy is often found in stillness, reflection, and recognizing God at work in ordinary moments. As we continue through Advent, we are learning that joy is not loud or forced, but deep, thoughtful, and rooted in the presence of Christ.

#67-Advent Week 2
Tonight’s episode of the Bible Thumpers felt like gathering around a crackling campfire with the people you love most. As we lit the peace candle for week 2 of Advent, we stepped straight into the quiet wonder of the Christmas story and followed Joseph, Mary, Elizabeth, and Zechariah as the angel of the Lord showed up in their lives with world-changing news. We talked about how terrifying it must have been to see an angel suddenly standing RIGHT there in front of you, and how each of them responded with trembling obedience that still inspires us thousands of years later. We walked through Mary and Joseph’s long and exhausting journey to Bethlehem, imagining the dust, the discomfort, the uncertainty, and the unshakable faith it took to say yes to God when nothing made sense. And in the middle of it all, we got to celebrate our girl April — happy birthday, Cornbread! — because even in the weight of holy moments, the Lord gives us laughter, friendship, and joy.But beyond the fun, the chaos, and the birthday cake, tonight reminded us of the true meaning of Christmas. It is not the lights or the gifts or the glitter or the noise. It is the God of heaven stepping into human history in the most unexpected way, using ordinary people with ordinary fears to bring extraordinary peace into a world that desperately needed it — and still does. Their obedience, their courage, and their trust point us straight to Jesus, the Prince of Peace, who came to save us, dwell with us, and draw us near. As we head toward Christmas Day, we carry the reminder that peace is not a feeling but a person, and His name is Jesus. May we walk in that peace, share that peace, and cling to the hope He brought into the world on that holy night in Bethlehem.

This week’s Scriptures paint a powerful picture of a Savior who doesn’t stay distant — He comes close, leads us, sees us, and shines light right into the places we try to hide. It’s Advent Bible Thumpers style: lots of Scripture, plenty of rabbit trails, a few squirrel moments, and of course the four of us laughing, learning, and letting the Word do what it does best. Episode #65-Part 9-Acts 18-20
Tonight we opened our Bibles to Acts chapters eighteen through twenty, and even though we were missing our girl April, it still became a rich conversation full of Scripture, humor, and deep reflection. We followed Paul into Corinth, watched the beauty of his friendship with Aquila and Priscilla, and witnessed how God strengthened him when discouragement pressed in. From there we stepped into Ephesus, where the gospel shook an entire city, magic scrolls burned, demons trembled, and the Word of the Lord prevailed with unstoppable power. Then we traveled into Troas and held our breath as Eutychus fell from the window, only to be raised back to life through the power of God. It reminded us that even ordinary moments can become holy when God is present.Acts chapter twenty pulled us into a tender farewell scene with the Ephesian elders, marked by tears, humility, courage, and a heart of true shepherding. We heard Paul speak with conviction, warn of wolves, urge bravery, and commit them to the Word of God that is strong enough to sustain them. It was a full study, a long journey, and a meaningful night at the table. We missed April deeply and felt her absence, but we carried on, opened the Word, and let Scripture speak with authority and comfort. Grab your Bible, settle in, and walk with us through these three powerful chapters. The room may have been missing one chair, but the presence of God filled the space completely.

#57 The Acts Kickoff Part 1
Episode 57 is here, and we are diving headfirst into the book of Acts — and let’s just say, it grabbed us right from the start. We only made it through the introduction and chapter 1, but don’t let that fool you. Acts is packed so full of fire, boldness, miracles, and the power of the Spirit that we could camp out here for weeks (and we will). This book doesn’t just tell stories; it shows us what happens when ordinary people are filled with an extraordinary God.We’re planning to spend 5–8 weeks walking through Acts together, and honestly, that might not even be enough. There’s too much good stuff to rush, and you know us — we’re going to laugh, rabbit trail, and probably step on some toes along the way. But we’re here for it all. If you’re ready to see how the early church flipped the world upside down, grab your Bible and come thump along with us.

#56-Revival, Testimony, and the Call to Preach
“The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few” (Matthew 9:37). In Episode 56 of The Bible Thumpers, we welcomed three special guests: Cassandra’s mother-in-law, Preacher Bill, and his wife Teresa from Berlin Congregational Christian Church. Bill shared his powerful testimony and how God called him into ministry, reminding us of the transforming power of the gospel. We also dove deep into the topic of revival, reflecting on how it is breaking out across the world and stirring hearts to return to Christ. It was a night full of encouragement, truth, and the reminder that God is still moving mightily today.

#55-Forgiveness
In this powerful and emotional episode, the Bible Thumpers come together to reflect on the martyrdom of Charlie Kirk and the global impact of his death. Around the world, people are mourning deeply—even those who never knew him personally—because he was a bold brother in Christ. His passing has become a spark for revival, leading thousands to baptism, drawing prodigals home, and even bringing atheists to confess faith in Jesus. Memorials and rallies are erupting across nations, not only to honor his life but to glorify God, as believers lift their voices in worship and turn back to the Word of God.This episode reminds us that it is both right and biblical to grieve while also recognizing the mighty move of the Holy Spirit. Just as the early church grew through the blood of the martyrs, so too we are witnessing God use tragedy to advance His Kingdom in our own time. Together, we share Scripture, encouragement, and heartfelt prayers, pointing to the hope we have in Christ. Join us as we mourn, remember, and rejoice in what God is doing across the earth through the testimony of one faithful servant.

Episode #54 In Remembrance
Psalm 34:18 (NIV):“The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”Tonight’s episode, In Remembrance, begins with heavy hearts as we honor the life of Charlie Kirk. Charlie was a man of bold faith, unashamed to speak the name of Jesus, and committed to living out his convictions in a world that often pushed back against truth. His passing is both shocking and deeply sorrowful, yet we hold fast to the promise that he is now in the presence of the Savior he so dearly loved. We send our love, prayers, and deepest condolences to his family, friends, and all who were touched by his life and ministry. May the comfort of Christ surround them in this season of grief, and may the seeds Charlie planted continue to bear fruit in countless lives. We reflect tonight not only on his courage but also on the eternal hope we share in Christ, knowing death has no victory and no sting for those who belong to Him.We also spent time in this episode reflecting on communion and the sacredness of approaching the Lord’s Table with humility and repentance. Communion is not a casual ritual but a powerful reminder of the sacrifice of Christ and the call to examine our hearts before Him. Alongside this discussion, we shared a weekly recap, highlighted upcoming events, and celebrated the joy of fellowship even in the midst of sorrow. What emerged was a podcast that was both somber and lighthearted—a space where grief and laughter coexist, and where we continue to fix our eyes on Jesus, the Author and Perfecter of our faith.

#52 The Sermon on the Mount Part 6
In Episode 52 of The Bible Thumpers, we dive into Matthew 6:32–7:12 and uncover the heart of Jesus’ teaching on trust, judgment, prayer, and the Golden Rule. April opens up in a powerful moment, sharing her first experience opening the Bible and how God answered her prayer faster than she could have imagined. Marie jumps in with a challenging question that makes everyone pause and think deeply, while Brooke lightens the moment with honesty about her fear of the dark—reminding us all that faith doesn’t erase our humanity.Of course, Cassy keeps things lively by asking for a “walker” to help with her walk, sparking laughter while tying it back to the truth of relying on God’s strength. #51 Sermon on the Mount part 5
Episode 51 of The Bible Thumpers takes us back into the Sermon on the Mount for Part 5, where we dig into Matthew 6:19–31—and let me tell you, things get deep fast. We wrestle with treasures on earth versus treasures in heaven, the challenge of serving two masters, and Jesus’ strong words on worry. April steps up with a convicting word about anxiety and how it reveals what we’re really trusting in, reminding us that worry is not only unhelpful but also unnecessary when God is our Provider. Brooke admits she’s been saving flies from a fly strip (yes, flies!), which sparks both laughter and honesty when April confesses she’s done the same thing. That launches Cassy into an unforgettable analogy—comparing us humans to flies stuck on life’s traps, desperate for freedom only Christ can give. And then Marie—oh, she comes in hot tonight. With boldness and clarity, she asks the hard questions we sometimes avoid, pressing us to examine where we’ve placed our security and whether our faith is really shaping how we live. Between the tears, the laughter, and yes, a few snorts, this episode is packed with raw conversation, real conviction, and some much-needed humor. If you’ve ever wrestled with worry, wondered about your priorities, or just need a good laugh with some truth tucked in, this is an episode you don’t want to miss.

#50-Sermon on the Mount Part 4
Fifty episodes in, and The Bible Thumpers are just getting warmed up! Tonight we threw down a double celebration—our golden 50th episode and Cassandra’s birthday (don’t worry, we’re keeping her age under wraps). April came in like a Holy Spirit flamethrower—dropping a soap parable that’ll have you scrubbing your soul, setting off her infamous chicken alarm mid-flow, and sharing the gospel so smooth it could’ve been wrapped in velvet. Somewhere between anatomy lessons about her “hangly dangly swallower thing” (that’s a uvula for you fancy folks) and Cassandra wondering if Jesus is revving that spiritual engine, Marie stepped in with wisdom bombs reminding us not to pray for ill will—ouch, conviction delivered. Meanwhile, Brooke just soaked it all in like the resident theologian she is, connecting every wild tangent back to the truth. We tackled Matthew 5:38–6:18 with the energy of a tent revival and the comedic timing of a late-night talk show. It was part stand-up, part pulpit, and part group therapy as we dove into why the Sermon on the Mount might just be the blueprint for surviving social media. And because it wouldn’t be The Bible Thumpers without some confession time, we even spilled our “good deeds gone wrong” stories—those moments when our best intentions ended up looking like spiritual slapstick. This episode wasn’t just a celebration—it was a full-on, Holy Spirit-fueled, side-splitting, heart-hitting, Scripture-soaked party that’ll leave you begging for the next round.

#49 Part 3 The Sermon on the Mount
This one gets spicy, y’all. We dive into Matthew 5:13–37 and talk salt, light, laws, lust, and how apparently thinking mean thoughts about your husband might just count as murder. (Jesus said it—not us.) We dig into the reality that God cares not just about our actions, but our hearts—so yes, even that silent rage when your man leaves dirty socks on the floor again… yeah, that’s what we’re talking about. We cover the Old Testament’s 300+ laws, sing “This Little Light of Mine,” and unpack the depth of Jesus’ call to righteousness that goes way beyond surface-level religion.April admits God made her feel “poopy,” Brooke confesses to mentally committing crimes, and we all somehow end up talking about lusting after baskets. It’s deep, it’s hilarious, and it’s one of our most honest episodes yet. If you’ve ever rolled your eyes at your spouse, gotten a little too sassy in your soul, or thought you were doing pretty good spiritually until Jesus showed up and said “not so fast”—this one’s for you. Come laugh, learn, and let your light shine… even on your husband.

#48-"Ministry in the Market"
This week’s episode took a different turn as we hit pause on the Sermon on the Mount study and shared something a little more personal and powerful. With Marie out, Brooke and Cassandra (Cassy) recapped an unforgettable Saturday spent at a local market event where ministry happened in the most unexpected of ways. From setting up our table full of free gospel resources to being placed right next to another on-fire-for-Jesus ministry team, God made it clear: this wasn’t just a market—it was a mission field. We made instant kingdom connections, laughed, prayed, and saw God move. One of the most beautiful moments was when we prayed over a 10-year-old girl and gave her very first Bible. Teaching her how to use it was holy ground. We also got to pray over a woman walking through deep struggles—and in those moments, we saw firsthand how God uses ordinary people in ordinary places to bring extraordinary hope. This episode is full of testimony, laughter, and reminders that when you show up with Jesus, He shows out. Don’t miss it.Verse of the Week:“Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.” — Mark 16:15 (LSB)

Episode #47-The Sermon on the Mount part 2
Tonight we dug into Matthew 5:7–12 from the Sermon on the Mount, and y’all… it was rich. We talked mercy, purity, peacemaking, and yes—persecution. We followed along with The Daily Grace Co. study, read straight from the Word, and wrestled with what it means to truly live out these beatitudes in a world that wants none of it. Things got deep… and a little messy. (Literally. Dog drool was involved.)Of course, we had our fair share of squirrel moments—including April’s now-legendary parables about lasagna and cleaning out her soul’s filing cabinet. We laughed harder than we probably should have, but we also prayed with full hearts and heavy conviction. It’s real, it’s raw, it’s the Bible Thumpers way. Come listen, grow, and laugh with us—we promise it’s worth the chaos.

#46 The Sermon on the Mount Part 1
Welcome to the mountaintop, y’all—where Jesus is preaching, April’s preaching, and someone’s preaching about our water bottles. In this episode, we dive into the first six verses of Matthew 5, breaking down the Beatitudes like the Bible nerds we are. We unpack what it really means to be poor in spirit, mourning, meek, and hungry for righteousness—all while trying to stay on track despite an epic rabbit trail about emotional support hydro flasks. April hits us with one of her classic parables (this one may involve snacks and obedience), and someone (we’re not naming names) boldly declares that we’re all brats—which, fair. But at least we’re brats for Jesus. It’s sassy, it’s Spirit-filled, and it’ll make you laugh and repent—sometimes at the same time. Whether you’re sipping from a Stanley or dragging your Walmart cup around like a disciple, this episode is for you. We’re setting the stage for one of the most powerful sermons Jesus ever gave—and trust us, this mountain’s just getting started. Grab your Bibles, your water bottles, and maybe a snack—because The Bible Thumpers are back, and we’ve got questions, commentary, and holy sass to spare.

#45-James 5-You Better Pray Like You Mean It
In this week’s episode, the Bible Thumpers are not holding back. We dive deep into James chapter 5 and talk all about the power of prayer—real, bold, not-just-before-bedtime kind of prayer. The kind that storms heaven’s gates, calls on the elders, anoints with oil, confesses sin, and actually believes God still heals. We talk about what it means to pray in faith, how hard it is sometimes to keep praying when nothing seems to change, and why prayer isn’t our last resort—it’s our lifeline. From Elijah’s rain-stopping showdown to the call to bring wandering believers back, this episode is a spiritual wake-up call (with some caffeine-fueled tangents, obviously). As always, expect some squirrel moments, a few jokes that probably weren’t appropriate, and a whole lot of heart. Cassy might’ve gotten a little too fired up, Marie kept us on track (bless her), April may or may not have brought up chickens again, and Brooke was on a Bible-roll, as usual. This episode is for the woman who feels like her prayers are hitting the ceiling, for the one who doesn’t know how to start, and for the one who just needs a reminder that God is still listening. Let’s learn how to pray like we mean it—and watch what happens when we do.

#44-You Can’t Be Besties With The World and Claim Jesus Too
Tonight’s episode, “You Can’t Be Besties with the World and Claim Jesus Too,” dives headfirst into James chapter 4, day 4 of our study, and honey, it’s a doozy. We get real about how easy it is to cozy up with the world while trying to keep our Jesus badge shiny—and spoiler alert: it doesn’t work. Expect raw stories, confessions of our own struggles, and a few fiery reminders straight from Scripture about why chasing worldly approval will leave you emptier than a bag of chips at a church potluck.Meanwhile, Cassy goes full-on prayer warrior, calling down heaven and—let’s be honest—trying to call out Brooke mid-prayer. We laugh, we get convicted, and we might’ve stepped on a few toes (including our own), but we promise you’ll leave this episode fired up to ditch lukewarm living. Grab your Bible, your sassiest amen, and join us for a night of truth, giggles, and grace.

Episode #43-Tame That Tongue Before it Burns Everything Down
In this fiery episode of The Bible Thumpers, we dive headfirst into James chapter 3 and wrestle with the unruly beast that lives behind our teeth—yep, the tongue. Spoiler alert: it’s small, but it’s savage. From gossip grenades to passive-aggressive prayer requests, we tackle what it means to truly surrender our speech to God before it sets our relationships, reputations, and entire lives ablaze. It’s conviction with a side of comedy, because… of course it is.Brooke confesses her sin of cookie hoarding—twice. Once for “forgetting” to deliver them to her neighbors (ahem), and a second time for eating them all in the name of hospitality research. We call it what it is: a snackrifice. Meanwhile, April crashes into a spiritual truth with one of her classic car parables—because apparently you can’t be reckless behind the wheel or with your words. And naturally, Cassy and Marie keep the sass and theology flowing while trying to keep the squirrels on track. (Good luck.)If you’ve ever said something you wish you could unsay, or if your filter sometimes malfunctions under pressure—this one’s for you. We laugh, we learn, we squirm under the weight of conviction, and we remind each other that even a reckless tongue can be redeemed. So grab your Bible, your coffee, and maybe a cookie (unless Brooke ate them all), and join us for another honest, hilarious, and holy conversation.

Sit Down Fancy Pants-Episode #42 James 2
In Episode 42, titled “Sit Down, Fancy Pants,” the Bible Thumpers tackle James chapter 2 with a wild blend of truth, laughter, and conviction. April opens with a parable about soap, reminding us that cleaning up doesn’t always start on the outside. Brooke spirals into a theological rabbit hole about nakedness (yes, really), and things only get deeper (and funnier) from there. This week’s focus: favoritism, judgment, and the ever-complicated command to “love thy neighbor” — literally and not-so-literally. The girls confess the hard truths: Brooke now owes her neighbor cookies, Marie owns up to her silent judgment face, and Cassy slices through self-deception with some bold sin-sniping honesty.Despite all the laughs, the heart of the episode hits hard — none of us get this right, but we keep trying. James 2 calls out our partiality, our pride, and the way we treat people based on appearances. And the Bible Thumpers? They call out themselves. This one’s messy, hilarious, and humbling — the kind of study that makes you laugh and feel convicted enough to knock on your neighbor’s door with a plate of cookies and a whole lot of grace.

Faith That Throws Punches-James-Episode 41
Tonight on The Bible Thumpers, we crack open James Chapter 1—and let’s just say… this chapter didn’t come to play, it came to convict. From trials to temptations to forgetting what you look like in the mirror (spiritually speaking, of course), we wrestled with all of it—and lost a little dignity along the way.Cassy kept us (mostly) on track. Marie dropped truth bombs like usual. April showed up parable-free (yes, it shocked us too). And Brooke? Well… she brought absolutely zero theology but made up for it with four solid squirrel moments, one of which may have involved a toaster oven and a tangent about sandals in the book of Acts. Don’t ask.We talked about:Why trials might just be the refining fire we needHow temptation starts in the mind (and sometimes in the snack aisle)And what it actually means to not just hear the Word, but to do it—even when your attitude says otherwiseIt’s real. It’s raw. It’s hilarious. It’s James 1… thumper-style. So buckle up, hit play, and come be sanctified (or at least entertained).

We ARE you.In this episode, The Bible Thumpers come for the scroll-happy saints and deliver a much-needed gut check on what it really means to live the Word in a world that’s all about likes, shares, and spiritual aesthetics.Cassy was on absolute FIRE tonight—bold, passionate, and bringing the Word like she had a direct line to Mount Sinai. Marie held it down with wisdom and kept the train on the tracks, Holy Spirit conductor style. And believe it or not… Brooke and April were the quiet ones. (Yes, that sound you hear is the rapture beginning.)Also—Brooke got totally lost during a segment about “hauling trash.” Thought we were talking garbage day, but nope—it was about spiritual decluttering and getting rid of worldly junk that clutters your soul.We unpack:How your phone might be discipling you more than the BibleWhy it’s time to go from sermon notes to surrendered stepsWhat spiritual trash needs to be hauled out of your lifeAnd how to get past knowing the Word and start living itThis episode is for the ones who love their Bible app but still need help actually applying it.It’s funny.
