Episode 67: Supported, Informed, and Confident: A Doula’s Approach to Birth with Brittany Higgins

Pregnancy and birth can bring a unique tension for high-capacity women- the desire to be prepared, informed, and thoughtful… without feeling like everything depends on getting the plan exactly right.  In this episode, I’m joined by Brittany Higgins, a doula and former labor and delivery nurse, who shares a perspective that is both empowering and deeply reassuring. Brittany helps women feel confident in their voice, supported in their decisions, and prepared for birth without being driven by fear.  Together, we talk about:  What birth advocacy really means from a doula’s perspective  The difference between being informed and feeling pressured or fearful  How the desire for control often shows up during pregnancy and birth  Ways partners and support people can help advocate during labor  Questions women can ask providers to feel more confident in their decisions  What support really looks like in the postpartum season  This episode is for the woman who wants to feel ready for birth, not because she can control every outcome, but because she understands her options, trusts her voice, and feels supported throughout the process.  Because preparation isn’t about fear- it’s about confidence, support, and knowing you are not navigating birth alone.  Connect with Brittany  Instagram:  https://www.instagram.com/britt.the.birth.doula/  Facebook:  https://www.facebook.com/brittany.higgins.7713/  Website: https://britt-the-birth-doula.com/   Connect with Denise of Working Moms Redefined:    Catch full episodes and subscribe to The Working Moms Redefined Podcast on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@WorkingMomsRedefined    Click here for the 9 Minutes a Day for a Lifetime of Connection Masterclass!     Listen to The Working Moms Redefined Podcast on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, iHeart Radio and Amazon Music. Episode 66: Redefining Life After Divorce with Amy Hendrian

This episode with Amy Hendrian resonated with so many of you, and we wanted to bring it back.  In this conversation, we sit down with Amy, business owner and mom of three, for an honest and relatable discussion about divorce, co-parenting, owning a business, and what it means to be a full-time mom, with or without a parenting contract.  Amy shares her experience navigating the early days of divorce, the fears she carried for her kids, and how she has redefined what showing up looks like. We talk through the many “buckets” of life, from kids and work to friendships and self, and the ongoing tension of trying to be present for it all.  She also speaks to co-parenting with compassion, even when things do not align, and how she stays grounded in her identity and values while running a business and raising her kids. It is a reminder that so many moms are asking the same question, and the answer still holds true.  You’ll hear:  How she reclaims the title of “full-time mom”  What balance actually  looks like today  Why presence, not perfection, is what matters most  The guiding values that shape Amy’s approach to parenting and business  And one powerful message for any mom who feels like she’s falling short  If you missed this one the first time, this episode is worth a listen. Episode 65: More Than the Game: How Coaches Shape Confidence, Character, and Life Skills

Youth sports are often about more than learning the game. They are opportunities for children to build confidence, resilience, and life skills that extend far beyond the court or field.  In this episode, Denise reflects on the powerful role coaches play in shaping not only athletic ability, but also character, communication, and courage. She shares a personal moment with her daughter Sydney, who became emotional when Denise’s coaching style felt direct and firm on the court- a reminder that growth often requires learning how to hold both encouragement and challenge at the same time.  This conversation explores how great coaches:  Build confidence by recognizing effort and celebrating progress  Teach kids how to make eye contact and communicate clearly  Encourage children to stand up for themselves respectfully  Help young athletes take initiative instead of waiting to be told what to do  Show kids how to handle correction without tying it to their identity  Create environments where mistakes become opportunities to grow  Denise also reflects on the balance between being supportive and being honest,  and why lifting up the “good jobs” matters just as much as helping kids develop discipline and responsibility.  Because the lessons children learn from coaches don’t stay in sports- they shape how they show up in friendships, classrooms, leadership roles, and eventually in their adult lives.  When coaches focus on developing the whole person, the impact lasts far longer than any season.  Connect with Denise of Working Moms Redefined:    Catch full episodes and subscribe to The Working Moms Redefined Podcast on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@WorkingMomsRedefined    Click here for the 9 Minutes a Day for a Lifetime of Connection Masterclass!     Listen to The Working Moms Redefined Podcast on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, iHeart Radio and Amazon Music. Episode 64: Behind the Microphone: Roles are Reversed for an Unfiltered Conversation with Jeremy Tallcott

What happens when the microphone turns and the host becomes the one answering the questions? In this episode of Working Moms Redefined, Denise is joined by her husband, Jeremy, for a candid, unscripted conversation that offers a deeper look into motherhood, marriage, and the mental load so many women carry.   Through thoughtful questions and honest reflection, this episode explores what it really looks like to balance work, family, and personal growth… without pretending to have it all figured out.  Together, they dive into:  The challenges of motherhood, including unlearning past patterns and navigating perfectionism   The invisible mental load many women carry and the importance of asking for help   How communication in marriage evolves, especially around expectations and support   This episode is equal parts insightful and lighthearted, with moments of humor, honesty and real-life perspective. It’s a reminder that growth happens in conversation, that support starts with communication, and that you don’t have to do it all alone.  Because sometimes the most powerful thing you can do…is ask for what you need. Click here to download Questions to Ask Your Partner!  Listen to The Working Moms Redefined Podcast on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, iHeart Radio and Amazon Music. Episode 63: Stop Living in Reaction Mode: Organization, Mental Load, and Why So Many Women Feel Behind with Lisa Woodruff

So many working moms feel like they are constantly behind- juggling responsibilities, managing invisible tasks, and trying to keep everything moving forward, all while wondering why it still feels so heavy.  In this episode, I sit down with Lisa Woodruff, founder of Organize 365, to talk about the real reason so many high-capacity women feel overwhelmed, and why organization is about so much more than containers, checklists, or doing more.  Lisa’s work focuses on helping busy women develop practical systems for managing home, paper, and life so they can reclaim time for what they are uniquely created to do.   Together, we explore:  Why capable women often feel like they are doing everything right but still feel behind  The hidden mental load many women carry that often goes unseen or unacknowledged  The difference between perfectionism and becoming a “woman of excellence”  Why organization is a learnable skill- not a personality trait   How creating simple systems can actually create more mental space and freedom  Lisa’s approach emphasizes progress over perfection and helps women build systems that support real life, not an unrealistic standard. This conversation is for the woman who is tired of feeling scattered, behind, or mentally overloaded and ready to create structure that actually supports the life she wants to live.  Because organization isn’t about doing more- it’s about creating space for what matters most.  Connect with Lisa  Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/organize365/  Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Organize365   LinkedIn:  https://www.linkedin.com/in/lisawoodruff/   Website and Sunday Basket info : https://organize365.com/escapingquicksand/   Connect with Denise of Working Moms Redefined:    Catch full episodes and subscribe to The Working Moms Redefined Podcast on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@WorkingMomsRedefined    Click here for the 9 Minutes a Day for a Lifetime of Connection Masterclass!       Listen to The Working Moms Redefined Podcast on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, iHeart Radio and Amazon Music. Episode 62: What’s Really Holding You Back: (It’s Not Your Work Ethic) with Amy Kemp

High-capacity women often believe that if they work a little harder, try a little more, or push through one more challenge, things will finally fall into place. But what if the real barrier isn’t effort… it’s our thought habits?  In this episode, I sit down with leadership coach and author Amy Kemp to talk about the subconscious thought patterns that quietly shape our decisions, our confidence, and the way we show up in work, motherhood, and life.  Amy shares insights from her book I See You and her work coaching hundreds of female leaders on how to recognize the internal narratives that keep us stuck, even when we’re doing all the “right” things.  In this conversation, we explore:  Why you can’t outwork your thought habits  How high-achieving women unknowingly sabotage their own progress  The power of recognizing and replacing subconscious thought patterns  Why boundaries, rhythm, and even play matter more than we think  The invisible weight of unpaid labor many women carry  This episode is for the woman who feels capable, driven, and committed but sometimes wonders why things still feel harder than they should.  You may not need to work harder. But you may need to think differently.   Connect with Amy  Website: www.amykemp.com   Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/amykempinc/  Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/amykempinc  LinkedIn: linkedin.com/in/amykempinc   Link to Purchase I See You: https://www.amazon.com/See-You-Guide-Women-More-Without/dp/1774584425/ref=sr_1_1  Take the FREE Habit Finder Assessment here: https://amykemp.com/habit-finder-assessment/    Connect with Denise of Working Moms Redefined:    Catch full episodes and subscribe to The Working Moms Redefined Podcast on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@WorkingMomsRedefined    Click here for the 9 Minutes a Day for a Lifetime of Connection Masterclass!     Listen to The Working Moms Redefined Podcast on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, iHeart Radio and Amazon Music. Episode 61: Redefining Hard: Why Doing Less Might Be the Strongest Choice You Make with Denise Tallcott

For a long time, many of us believed “doing hard things” meant pushing more, achieving more, and carrying more responsibility - often at the expense of our peace, presence, and relationships.  But what if hard doesn’t always look like hustle?  In this solo episode, Denise shares a perspective shift that many high-capacity women are beginning to feel but haven’t always had language for: sometimes the hardest thing isn’t doing more… it’s choosing to do less.  We explore what it looks like to redefine strength in this season of life:  Moving from proving yourself to being present  Letting go of the pressure to always say yes  Learning that boundaries are not limitations, they are clarity  Recognizing that being where your feet are requires courage  Understanding that doing fewer things with intention often creates more impact  This conversation is an invitation to reconsider what “hard” really means and why saying no, slowing down, or choosing alignment over achievement may actually be the bravest leadership decision you make.  Because sometimes the strongest women are not the ones doing the most… they are the ones doing what matters most. Episode 60: When the Birth Plan Falls Apart: Faith, Surrender, and Holding Gratitude with Grief with Jen Duesterhaus

Birth stories don’t always unfold the way we imagine. even when we plan carefully, pray intentionally, and prepare thoroughly.  In this episode, I’m joined by Jen Duesterhaus, mom of three, nurse practitioner student and business owner, to talk about her very different birth experiences- and the ones that didn’t go according to plan. After hoping for a VBAC and approaching this pregnancy with a calm, faith-filled mindset for baby #3, she found herself facing unexpected turns and the difficult tension between control and surrender.  Together, we talk about:  How each of her three birth experiences shaped her differently  Why a VBAC felt important emotionally, physically, and spiritually  What it’s like when a carefully held plan starts to unravel  Navigating disappointment while still feeling deep gratitude  Learning to hold grief and faith at the same time  How surrender in birth reshaped her view of control in motherhood and life  This conversation is for the mom who feels like her birth story didn’t go “right.” For the woman still carrying quiet disappointment alongside overwhelming gratitude. For anyone learning that trusting God doesn’t always mean getting the outcome you hoped for.  Jen’s story is honest, reflective, and deeply reassuring: you can trust God and still grieve what you lost. You can be grateful and still wish it had gone differently. Both can exist at the same time.  Connect with Jen  Facebook:  https://www.facebook.com/jendues11   Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/jenfarmwife   Connect with Denise of Working Moms Redefined:    Catch full episodes and subscribe to The Working Moms Redefined Podcast on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@WorkingMomsRedefined    Click here for the 9 Minutes a Day for a Lifetime of Connection Masterclass!     Listen to The Working Moms Redefined Podcast on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, iHeart Radio and Amazon Music. Episode 59: Parenting Without a Blueprint: Breaking Cycles and Building What You Never Had with Allison Housewright

Some parents are raising children without ever having been shown what healthy parenting looks like. No blueprint. No example. No consistent support.  In this episode, we talk with Allison Housewright about what it means to parent while healing to give your children emotional safety, consistency, and tools you may not have received yourself.  We explore:  What “parenting without parents” really means  The emotional weight of breaking generational cycles  Raising kids while navigating your own healing  What it feels like to parent 24/7 without built-in support  Why community may be the missing piece for so many families  We also talk about the idea of building local support circles for parents who are striving to do better, even with limited resources and little outside help.  This conversation is for the parents who are determined to give their children more than they were given, even when it feels lonely, exhausting, or uncertain. Episode 58: Healing the Past to Live Fully Today with Therapist Sara Semenick

As we celebrate one year of Working Moms Redefined, we’re revisiting one of our powerful early conversations with Therapist Sara Semenick. This episode remains just as meaningful today as it was when it first aired, offering insight and encouragement for anyone navigating growth, healing and the many roles that come with motherhood and career.  Sara brings her passion for helping women understand how past experiences and stored stress can influence how we show up in our daily lives. Drawing from her background in multiple therapeutic approaches, including NET Therapy (Neuro Emotional Technique), she explains how the mind and body work together and how greater self-awareness can help us break patterns that may be holding us back.  The conversation also explores the importance of understanding our personal motivations, family influences and the deeper “why” behind our behaviors. Tools like the Enneagram can offer helpful insight into personality and decision-making, while open conversations about mental health help normalize the idea that growth and healing look different for everyone.  Throughout the episode, Denise reflects on her own journey as a working mom, businesswoman and lifelong learner, sharing how self-discovery is an ongoing process. The discussion highlights how intentional reflection, meaningful relationships and personal accountability can help us become cycle breakers for ourselves and our families.  If you’re revisiting this episode with us or listening for the first time, we hope this conversation reminds you that growth takes time, self-awareness is powerful and every step forward matters.    Connect with Sara Semenick of Deeper Roots Counseling:   Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61552973679755   Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/deeperrootscounselingmft/   Website: https://deeperrootscounselingmft.com/     Enneagram Test Link: https://assessment.yourenneagramcoach.com     Book Suggestion: “The Body Keeps Score.” https://www.amazon.com/Body-Keeps-Score-Healing-Trauma/dp/0670785938/ref=asc_df_0670785938/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=693449522341&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=16785464844668993613&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9022417&hvtargid=pla-436114357585&psc=1&tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=693449522341&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=16785464844668993613&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9022417&hvtargid=pla-436114357585&psc=1     Additional Book Links on Sara's Website: https://deeperrootscounselingmft.com/services     NET Therapy Example in the Referenced Grey’s Anatomy Episode: https://youtu.be/EJP8t2lv_vY?si=xijKD8aTyr6qsn9E     Connect with Denise of Working Moms Redefined:     Catch full episodes and subscribe to The Working Moms Redefined Podcast on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@WorkingMomsRedefined    Click here for the 9 Minutes a Day for a Lifetime of Connection Masterclass: https://www.workingmomsredefined.com/9-99-9-minutes-landing   Listen to The Working Moms Redefined Podcast on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, iHeart Radio and Amazon Music. Episode 56: Be a River, Not a Reservoir: Choosing Main Channel Leadership

This week on Working Moms Redefined, Denise shares a powerful leadership metaphor inspired by a lesson from John C. Maxwell: be a river, not a reservoir.  Denise paints a vivid comparison between the main channel and the quiet coves using the Lake of the Ozarks. The cove represents rest, reflection and consumption. The main channel represents movement, connection and contribution. Both serve a purpose. Leadership is about knowing when to leave the cove and return to the current.  In this episode, Denise challenges listeners to examine their own patterns. Are you primarily consuming content, ideas and encouragement? Or are you taking what you have learned and pouring it into others? Are you anchoring in comfort, or are you stepping back into motion to serve, teach and connect?  This conversation explores the service-based mindset that defines meaningful leadership. It is not about recognition or self-promotion. It is about fueling others so they can show up better in their own lives. Whether that looks like asking a thoughtful question at work, volunteering in a new capacity or being fully present with your children, leadership is found in everyday moments of intentional impact.  If you have been in a season of gathering, learning or resting, this episode is your gentle nudge to re-enter the current. You are allowed to recharge. But you were not designed to stay stagnant. Choose the river. Choose movement. Choose to pour back into the people and spaces that matter most. In this episode, I sit down with therapist Penni Ippensen, who brings decades of experience working with families and the perspective of a working mom who raised three daughters of her own. Together, we explore how everyday moments at home shape leadership, critical thinking, and emotional intelligence, often more than we realize.  In this conversation, we talk about:  What qualities truly matter when raising leaders and critical thinkers  How moms can model confidence and healthy decision-making, even when they feel unsure  Balancing guidance with allowing kids to form their own opinions  Simple ways to encourage curiosity, conversation, and emotional awareness at home  What emotional skills are most important to teach early  We also dive into sibling relationships, including:  What’s normal conflict versus what deserves closer attention  Teaching kids how to disagree respectfully and repair after conflict  Helping siblings build connection even with very different personalities  Avoiding comparison, competition, and “scorekeeping” between kids  Penni also shares wisdom from hindsight, what mattered less than she thought when her girls were young, and what she now sees as foundational. This episode is for moms who care deeply, feel the weight of raising kids well, and need reassurance that leadership is built in small, imperfect moments, not constant perfection.  Connect with Penni  Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/penni.ippensen   Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/PenniIppensenTherapy/   LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/penni-ippensen-279a2749/     Connect with Denise of Working Moms Redefined:    Catch full episodes and subscribe to The Working Moms Redefined Podcast on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@WorkingMomsRedefined    Click here for the 9 Minutes a Day for a Lifetime of Connection Masterclass!       Listen to The Working Moms Redefined Podcast on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, iHeart Radio and Amazon Music. Episode 54: Making Hard Decisions as a Mom: Why I Left My Son Crying on the Floor

This week on Working Moms Redefined, Denise shares a reflection on decision-making, mom guilt and the weight of choosing when there is no perfect answer. What happens when two important roles collide, when your child needs you and your work needs you, and you are forced to decide anyway?  Denise takes listeners inside a day that began at 4:40 a.m. with her seven-year-old son waking up in pain and ended with her standing in front of a room full of people leading training while coordinating care, calls and emotions from miles away. Through this story, she explores the leadership lesson that has stayed with her the most: indecision breaks trust more than making the “wrong” decision ever could.  In this episode, Denise unpacks what it looks like to make decisions based on the information you have in the moment, even when doubt creeps in later. She talks honestly about mom guilt, self-questioning and the quiet inner dialogue that tells us we should have done more, stayed longer or chosen differently. She also reflects on the power of being supported by people and workplaces that allow us to show up as whole humans, not only as professionals.  This conversation is a reminder that you are allowed to choose, trust yourself and move forward without replaying every scenario over and over in your head. You are not failing because you question your choices. You are leading, parenting and living in real life. If you have ever wrestled with guilt after making a hard decision, this episode will meet you right where you are and remind you that choosing something is often better than choosing nothing at all. Episode 53: Leadership That Restores: Confidence, Repair, and Real Influence with Jamie Hansen of Alloy Solutions

Leadership doesn’t stop when the workday ends — and for many working moms, it often feels heavier than ever.  In this episode of Working Moms Redefined, Denise sits down with Jamie Hansen, founder of Alloy Solutions, Maxwell Leadership–certified coach, and longtime counselor-turned-leadership developer, to explore what it truly means to lead with confidence, connection, and purpose.  Together, they unpack the concept of redemptive leadership — a way of leading rooted in self-awareness, restoration, and relationship rather than perfection or pressure. Jamie shares why high achievers often struggle with self-criticism, how “connection before correction” transforms leadership at work and at home, and why repair is often more powerful than getting it right the first time.  This conversation bridges leadership and motherhood, offering practical insight for women who are leading teams, families, and themselves — often all at once.  If you’ve ever felt the weight of responsibility, questioned your influence, or wondered if there’s a healthier way to lead without burning out, this episode will leave you feeling grounded, encouraged, and reminded that leadership doesn’t require flawlessness — it requires presence.  Purchase your ticket to attend Leadership Redefined LIVE in Quincy, IL: https://www.denisetallcottleadership.com/Leadership-redefined-livedenise   Connect with Jamie  Alloy Solutions Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/alloy_solutions/  Alloy Solutions Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/alloysolutions   Jamie’s Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/jamie.hansen.3344   Website: https://www.alloystrong.com/team   LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/alloy-solutions/   X: https://x.com/alloy_solutions   Connect with Denise of Working Moms Redefined:   Catch full episodes and subscribe to The Working Moms Redefined Podcast on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@WorkingMomsRedefined    Click here for the 9 Minutes a Day for a Lifetime of Connection Masterclass!     Listen to The Working Moms Redefined Podcast on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, iHeart Radio and Amazon Music. Episode 52:  Letting Go of Perfection and Learning to Lead Your Life with Grace with Kim Kupiecki

What if the mess doesn’t mean you’re failing but that you’re fully living?  In this episode of Working Moms Redefined, Denise sits down with Kim Kupiecki, author of The Beautiful Mess, speaker, corporate leader, and mom, for an honest, grounding conversation about perfection, pressure, and grace in working motherhood.  Together, they explore why high-achieving women struggle so deeply with giving themselves grace, how the “everyone else has it figured out” lie keeps moms stuck, and what it really looks like to own your value, both at work and at home.  This conversation isn’t about doing more, fixing yourself, or chasing balance. It’s about releasing unrealistic expectations, redefining success, and learning how to show up with intention even when life feels messy.  If you’ve been feeling overwhelmed, behind, or quietly questioning whether you’re doing enough, this episode is a reminder that you don’t need perfection to be a great mom, a strong leader, or a whole person.  Because the mess doesn’t disqualify you; it’s part of the story.  Connect with Kim  Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/kimkupiecki  Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/kimkupiecki  Website: https://kimkupiecki.com/   LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/the-beautiful-mess/about/   Kim’s Book:  https://www.amazon.com/Beautiful-Mess-Kimberly-Kupiecki/dp/1634896475/ref=sr_1_4?crid=3RA8CARM38KM&keywords=the+beautiful+mess+kimberly&qid=1704835686&s=books&sprefix=the+beautiful+mess+%2Cstripbooks%2C128&sr=1-4    Connect with Denise of Working Moms Redefined:    Catch full episodes and subscribe to The Working Moms Redefined Podcast on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@WorkingMomsRedefined    Click here for the 9 Minutes a Day for a Lifetime of Connection Masterclass!     Listen to The Working Moms Redefined Podcast on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, iHeart Radio and Amazon Music. Episode 51: Starting Strong and Staying Steady: Motivation, Discipline, and Self-Leadership in the New Year

This week on Working Moms Redefined, Denise is sharing reflections from a recent live conversation she hosted for the Nutrition HQ community about motivation, discipline, and what it really looks like to keep showing up for ourselves. At the start of a new year, motivation can feel hopeful and exciting. We make plans, set goals, and imagine how good it will feel to finally follow through. But as Denise gently reminds us, motivation is fleeting and that doesn’t mean anything is wrong with you. It just means you’re human.  In this episode, Denise talks about the shift from waiting to feel motivated to choosing discipline as an act of self-leadership. Not rigid, all-or-nothing discipline, but the kind rooted in care, intention, and trust in yourself. The kind that carries you forward on the days when life is full, energy is low, and no one else is cheering you on.  This conversation is a reminder that you don’t need to overhaul your life or have it all figured out. You need to keep taking small, aligned steps toward the things that matter to you. You are allowed to lead yourself with compassion, grace, and consistency. If you’ve ever felt discouraged because your motivation faded or wondered why you keep starting over, this episode is for you. You are not behind, and you are more capable than you realize. In this episode, Denise sits down with Todd Sarner, founder of Transformative Parenting, to talk about what really makes parenting feel so challenging- even for smart, intentional, loving moms.  Together, they unpack why behavior problems are often communication problems, how to stay calm when emotions run high, and where to start when you’re craving more peace and connection at home. Todd also shares practical ways to get your partner on board, build emotional resilience in your kids, and navigate modern parenting challenges like screens and stress without losing yourself in the process.  If you’ve ever felt like parenting shouldn’t be this hard, this conversation will remind you—you’re not alone, and there’s a calmer, more connected way forward.  Connect with Todd Sarner  Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/tparenting/   Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/tparenting   LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/toddsarner/   Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/@TransformativeParenting   Website: https://transformativeparenting.com/about   Free Transformative Parenting Masterclass https://masterclassforparents.com/?sl=tpwebsitemasterclass   Todd’s Book  https://transformativeparenting.com/the-calm-connected-parent  Connect with Denise of Working Moms Redefined:  Catch full episodes and subscribe to The Working Moms Redefined Podcast on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@WorkingMomsRedefined   Click here for the 9 Minutes a Day for a Lifetime of Connection Masterclass!    Listen to The Working Moms Redefined Podcast on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, iHeart Radio and Amazon Music. In this episode of Working Moms Redefined, I’m joined by Michelle Stallings, health coach and founder of Ambitious and Fit, who is dedicated to helping women break free from the cycle of putting themselves last. If you are tired of pushing your health to the back-burner, not feeling confident in your own skin, hiding from photos, or thinking you need to restrict, shrink, or punish yourself to feel better, this conversation will speak directly to you. Michelle believes mental clarity comes before physical results, and today she explains why mindset is the foundation of every lasting change. We talk about the most common traps working moms fall into, why so many of us feel stuck even when we know what to do, and how to shift from guilt and perfectionism into caring for yourself with confidence and intention. She also offers simple micro habits and realistic starting points for the mom who feels overwhelmed or stretched thin. If you’re ready to feel beautiful in your own skin, build a strong and toned body you are proud of, and create habits that let you show up as the best version of yourself at home and at work, Michelle’s wisdom will feel like a breath of fresh air. Episode 46: The Ultimate Christmas Checklist: More Joy, Less Pressure

This week on Working Moms Redefined, Denise walks you through The Ultimate Christmas Checklist for Working Moms- a simple, joy-filled guide designed to help you create meaningful memories without adding more to your plate in the busiest season of the year.  Instead of trying to do everything, Denise shares how to choose the traditions that matter most: mailing letters to Santa, driving around to see Christmas lights, letting kids pick out ornaments that reflect who they are right now, sibling gift exchanges, Christmas movie nights, cut-out cookies, and more. She even dives into the magic-makers- letters from Santa, footprints by the fireplace and why it’s totally OK if the Elf on the Shelf never shows up at your house.  But more than that, this episode reframes Christmas for working moms. It’s a reminder that your kids don’t need a perfect season, they need you. They need presence, not pressure. Connection, not comparison.  Denise also shares the leadership lessons woven into this season: how modeling joy, flexibility, and intention shapes your home and teaches your kids what truly matters.  You’ll leave this episode feeling lighter, inspired, and clear on how to create a Christmas that’s both memorable and manageable- a season rooted in joy, connection, and grace.  Grab your Christmas Checklist here: https://www.workingmomsredefined.com/The-Ultimamte-Christmast-Checklist  Connect with Denise of Working Moms Redefined:  Catch full episodes and subscribe to The Working Moms Redefined Podcast on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@WorkingMomsRedefined  Click here for the 9 Minutes a Day for a Lifetime of Connection Masterclass!  Listen to The Working Moms Redefined Podcast on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, iHeart Radio and Amazon Music. Episode 44: From Overwhelmed to In Control: A New Movement to Work, Mother, and Live with Courtney Cecil

In this episode of Working Moms Redefined, I’m joined by Courtney Cecil, CEO, founder of the Working Moms Movement, mom of two, and a woman on a mission to help moms reclaim their time, energy, and identity. After walking through burnout, overwhelm, and the pressure to “do it all,” Courtney built an entire movement to reshape how women think about balance. Today, she shares what work-life balance actually looks like for modern mothers, the most common mistakes we make, and how to build schedules that support our family’s natural rhythm instead of someone else’s version of success. We talk about mom guilt, perfectionism, and the quiet pressure to measure ourselves against curated motherhood online- and the mindset shifts that bring peace back into the picture. Courtney offers practical tools to reduce overwhelm, set boundaries without guilt, decide what gets your yes (and your no), and take back control of your calendar before it takes control of you. If you’re tired, stretched thin, or craving more clarity and calm in your days, this conversation will remind you that balance isn’t a fantasy- it’s a set of small, intentional choices that you’re absolutely capable of making. Episode 43: Finding Gratitude in the Chaos: The Everyday Moments That Make Us Smile with Denise

Let’s be honest- sometimes gratitude feels hard. Between the morning chaos, reheated coffee, and never-ending to-do lists, it’s easy to miss the small, sacred moments that make our days meaningful. In this episode, Denise shares what fun little things keep her gracious and not anxious. From the comfort of a warm mug (even if it’s been microwaved twice) to the laughter that follows a day gone completely sideways, this is a reminder that gratitude doesn’t have to be perfect or polished. It’s found in the real, messy, beautiful moments of everyday life. Tune in, smile a little, and remember: how we view things is how we do things. In this episode of Working Moms Redefined, Denise sits down for a fun and honest conversation with author AJ Simmons about why carving out “me time” isn’t selfish, it’s essential.  Through lighthearted icebreakers (like hobbies gone hilariously wrong and dream passions we’d turn into full-time jobs) to deeper reflections on parenting, stress relief, and balance, this episode explores how hobbies can make moms more present, energized, and connected at home and work.  You’ll hear a partner’s perspective on what men often miss about the mental load moms carry, why “micro-hobbies” can matter just as much as big ones, and how dads can support moms in reclaiming time for joy and creativity. We wrap up with fun takes on hobby trends, couple connections, and the dream hobbies we imagine when the kids are grown.  If you’ve ever thought, “I literally don’t have five minutes for myself,” this conversation will inspire you to see hobbies differently- as fuel, not fluff.  Link to purchase AJ’s book:  https://www.amazon.com/Space-Time-J-Simmons-ebook/dp/B0FW3YQB6Y/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?crid=MJBP32V8JVYD&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.PKgTta0gipcKel6zyyHq3Q.8VrpQnNPa-zaYYrO6PAB61QzY61xBLQEZn1DAgI2UxM&dib_tag=se&keywords=aj+simmons+space+and+time&qid=1760663758&sprefix=aj+simmons+space+and+time%2Caps%2C92&sr=8-1&dplnkId=4ad5a480-8c54-40e6-9e6a-e2cd3f5e862e&nodl=1  Connect with Denise of Working Moms Redefined:  Catch full episodes and subscribe to The Working Moms Redefined Podcast on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@WorkingMomsRedefined  Click here for the 9 Minutes a Day for a Lifetime of Connection Masterclass!  Listen to The Working Moms Redefined Podcast on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, iHeart Radio and Amazon Music. Episode 37: Raising Kids in a Digital World: Finding Balance with Tracy Foster of Screen Sanity

As working moms, we all wrestle with the pull of screens- for our kids and ourselves. How do we balance the reality of technology with the desire for our children to be captivated by life, not just a device? In this episode of Working Moms Redefined, Denise sits down with Tracy Foster, co-founder and executive director of Screen Sanity, to talk about the challenges and opportunities of raising kids in a digital age. Tracy’s work has been featured in the Wall Street Journal, and her team is equipping parents worldwide with tools to navigate technology without letting it take over family life. Together, they dig into questions every parent asks: When should my child get a phone?  How much screentime is too much?  What do I say when my kids push back on-screen limits?  How can I protect my child’s self-esteem in a social media world?  And, how can I give myself breathing room as a mom without defaulting to a tablet?  This is a conversation full of practical ideas, encouragement, and permission to take small, realistic steps toward healthier rhythms for your family.  Because at the end of the day, it’s not about eliminating screens altogether. Episode 35: From Bangs to Bravery: Living Authentically Looks Good

What do bangs have to do with confidence? A lot more than you think. In this episode, I share a lighthearted story about Sydney’s new haircut that sparked a bigger conversation about confidence, authenticity, and the freedom to show up as who we really are. We’ll talk about how even small changes can unlock a new version of ourselves, why living authentically matters, and how we can help our kids do the same. By the end, you’ll see that bangs aren’t just about hair—they’re about the courage to step into the truest version of ourselves and invite our children to do the same. We’ll discuss:   Sydney got bangs- and it changed more than her look.  Confidence can feel like stepping into a new person.  Small changes can unlock big authenticity.  Living true to ourselves frees others to do the same.  Helping our kids: notice what lights them up, give them space, and model authenticity ourselves.
