BUTTERFLY

from RSG Nuus & Aktualiteit · host SABC News and Current Affairs

Hier is die Engelse weergawe van ons bydrae oor die skoenlappers van die Twalu Kalahari Wildreservaat: There are more species of butterflies at the Tswalu Kalahari Game Reserve, in the Northern Cape, than in the entire United Kingdom. This came to light at the seventh Oppenheimer De Beers group Research Conference in Johannesburg. Reiner Terblanche, from the University of Stellenbosch's Department of Conservation Ecology, says he was astonished by the diversity of species at the reserve. He spoke to our reporter, Hanri Wondergem, about the need to conserve large areas in order to protect the species.
