E179 Middle Ground Kratom Regulation

from Kratom Sobriety Hosted by Lily, Jacob, Nolan, and Charlie

Kratom was banned in Connecticut and Louisiana this year, as well as in scores of cities. Ohio and California, two big states, are taking significant actions to crack down on kratom in 2025. What are the alternatives? This episode explores a middle-ground approach to kratom regulation that rejects both total bans and weak, industry-written rules. We introduce six common-sense protections, including point-of-sale education, clear medical warnings, behind-the-counter sales, age verification for online purchases, naloxone availability, and strict limits on high-potency extracts. The goal is to make kratom use safer by offering pre-purchase digital counselling, reducing impulsive purchases, protecting youth, and limiting the most addictive and dangerous products while preserving adult access to lower-risk leaf forms. Love Your Life, with Randy Mermell Randy Mermel Randy talks on alcoholism, sobriety, God, and happiness. From Randy Mermell, truth seeker and founder of Principles In Application. Alive and Free Bob Gardner It's time to rip the cover off what really works to finally ditch stress, anxiety, anger, addiction, depression, past trauma, chronic pain, and all other kinds of human suffering. No, not just relief, recovery, comfort, healing, or sobriety. We're talking the F word here — freedom — Happiness and well-being on autopilot. My team and I will share straight from the trenches what we've learned from using a non-therapy, body-based approach to leave our own struggles behind while also coaching thousands of others to do the same. And since these are often such heavy topics, we're gonna get a bit irreverent and have a good time while we're at it. Because, despite what you may have been told, real freedom never involves a fight. Sober Powered: The Neuroscience of Being Sober Gillian Tietz, MS, CPRC Why do some people stay sober and others relapse back and forth? Getting sober isn’t about restriction, it’s about rewiring your brain to function without intensity, chaos, dopamine spikes, and avoidance. Hosted by Gill Tietz, a former biochemist turned sober coach, this show dives into the neuroscience of long-term sobriety — why some people relapse, why others stay free, and how to build the kind of brain that can handle life without alcohol. Each episode blends science, psychology, and real experience to help you strengthen the four pillars of neuro-resilience: 1. Neural Recovery – healing your brain’s reward and stress systems after alcohol. 2. Emotional Regulation – calming reactivity and learning to feel without escaping. 3. Cognitive Rewiring – changing the thought patterns that pull you backward. 4. Behavioral Integration – designing routine
