A Biblical Perspective on Confidence1. Master Yourself → Renew Your MindRobert talks about mastering fears and insecurities. The Bible says true mastery begins with the renewal of the mind:“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind…” (Romans 12:2).Instead of self-control through willpower alone, we find it by letting the Spirit guide our thoughts and emotions (Galatians 5:22-23). Biblical confidence is rooted not in self, but in God’s Spirit within us.Greene emphasizes reading people well. Scripture agrees—but frames it as wisdom and love:“The purposes of a person’s heart are deep waters, but one who has insight draws them out.” (Proverbs 20:5).True insight comes from compassion and discernment, not manipulation. Confidence grows when we choose to serve others rather than impress them (Mark 10:45).Greene says confidence comes through repeated action. The Bible calls this walking by faith, not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7).Confidence is not the absence of fear, but taking steps forward because we trust God’s promises:“Be strong and courageous… for the Lord your God goes with you.” (Deuteronomy 31:6).Greene highlights trial-and-error. This means that loneliness is not part of God’s design — even in a perfect garden, Adam needed companionship. If it wasn’t good for Adam to be alone, it’s not good for us either.Main Points:The Scope of the ProblemResearch shows men aged 25–60 are among the loneliest demographic.Loneliness is linked to depression, addiction, and even physical health issues.This is not just a “men’s issue” — it affects families, workplaces, and churches.Why It’s a Spiritual BattleIsolation makes us vulnerable to temptation and despair.1 Peter 5:8 compares the enemy to a lion — and lions hunt the isolated.The devil’s first tactic is often to get us alone in our thoughts.God’s Blueprint for ConnectionFrom the beginning, God made people for community, mission, and relationship.Jesus modeled life with a close group of men — not just teaching them, but eating, walking, serving, and grieving with them.Brotherhood is part of discipleship.Practical Step:This week, pray and ask God to put one man on your heart who might be lonely.
