I want to share something today because I feel deeply led to speak to those who may be walking through confusion. Sometimes the confusion we experience is not because something is wrong with us. Sometimes we become confused because we have started entertaining too many voices. We start worrying about who, what, when, where, why, how, and what if. We start examining situations that God never asked us to examine. And before we know it, we have allowed questions to become louder than our faith.If you believe in God and you know that God loves you, then there comes a point when you have to stop worrying about everything surrounding what He has called you to do. Whatever God has placed before you, do it to the best of your ability. If you believe He has given you an assignment, concentrate on being faithful to that assignment instead of constantly looking around to see whether somebody else understands it, approves of it, validates it, or believes in you.Confusion can become powerful when we start believing every negative thought that enters our minds. That is why Scripture tells us to test things rather than simply accept every spiritual claim: “Test the spirits to see whether they are from God” (1 John 4:1). Everything that enters your mind is not automatically truth, and everything somebody attaches God's name to did not necessarily come from God.That is especially important today.Someone can stand before a camera and say, “God told me,” but simply attaching God's name to an action does not make that action godly. If somebody claims God instructed them to abuse a child, murder somebody, exploit somebody, or commit some other evil act, Christians should not suddenly become confused about God's character. We measure the claim against the character and teachings revealed in Scripture. This is an especially troubling form of fraud because legitimate mental illnesses—including major depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, PTSD, and severe anxiety disorders—can absolutely be disabling. The Social Security Administration's Office of Inspector General specifically investigates questionable disability claims through its Cooperative Disability Investigations program.One of the most striking examples involved a massive New York disability fraud investigation. Federal investigators found that numerous applicants were coached to present psychiatric conditions as part of their Social Security disability claims. The investigation ultimately resulted in 134 arrests and 116 criminal convictions, and more than 300 additional people's benefits were terminated. The WNBA has another situation that has everybody talking, and this one got heated FAST. Chicago Sky guard DiJonai Carrington was ejected from the August 8 game against the Indiana Fever after officials reviewed her foul on Sophie Cunningham and upgraded it to a Flagrant 2. The play happened late in the first quarter as Cunningham was going toward the basket on a fast break. Carrington attempted to defend the play but made hard contact with Cunningham around the face and neck area, sending her to the floor. But I don't think Angel Reese should have to completely change who she is just to be considered marketable. If she wants to dress sexy, glamorous, bold, or fashionable off the court, that's her choice. At the same time, we can acknowledge that certain companies may choose someone like Caitlin Clark because they believe her public image fits their particular brand better. That doesn't necessarily mean Clark is a better basketball player, and it doesn't mean Reese isn't deserving of opportunities. Endorsement decisions and basketball ability are two completely different conversations.Honestly, I think the constant Caitlin Clark versus Angel Reese conversation has hurt both women. Everything becomes a competition. If Angel has a good game, somebody has to bring up Caitlin. If Caitlin does something amazing, somebody has to use it as an opportunity to insult Angel. But over time, I started noticing something completely different. Instead of feeling like I was opening a news app, it started feeling more like I was opening another version of Instagram, TikTok, or YouTube. I'm seeing videos, jokes, people posing in front of cameras, viral content, arguments, and things that really don't tell me anything about what is happening in my community. My question is simple: If I wanted that type of content, why wouldn't I just go to YouTube, Instagram, or TikTok? When I open something called NewsBreak, I expect the news.Another thing that really bothers me is what happened with the contributors. There was a time when NewsBreak had some really good writers. These were people who actually took time to write stories, talk about issues affecting different communities, and bring attention to subjects that people weren't necessarily hearing about from larger media outlets. You had writers discussing community issues, health topics, Black communities, LGBTQ issues, and many other subjects. Whether you agreed with every writer or not, at least people were writing and bringing conversations to the table.That's why I don't understand how you can move away from people who were actually producing written content and then fill people's feeds with videos that sometimes have very little to do with actual journalism. I'm not saying NewsBreak doesn't have legitimate news anymore because it does. My issue is what seems to be getting pushed and promoted. The Bible also shows us just how important and serious marriage is. Genesis 2:24 describes a husband and wife becoming one flesh. Matthew 19:6 says, “What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.” Marriage is not supposed to be treated as something temporary that we jump into because everything feels perfect right now. It is a covenant and a commitment, which is exactly why we should seek GOD before entering into it.Ephesians 5:25 also tells husbands to love their wives as Christ loved the church and gave Himself for it. That is a powerful standard for marriage. Biblical marriage involves love, sacrifice, commitment, patience, respect, and responsibility. 1 Corinthians 13:4–7 teaches that love is patient and kind and is not selfish or easily angered. Those qualities take time to observe in another person. Anyone can tell you they love you, but over time you begin to see what that person's definition of love actually looks like through their behavior.Young people should never feel like they have to rush into marriage because everyone around them is getting married or because they are afraid of losing someone. If that relationship is truly meant for you, giving it time to grow should not destroy it. Allow GOD to lead you. Pray about the person. Pay attention to their character. Listen when GOD gives you a warning. Do not ignore red flags just because you love somebody. Proverbs 19:2 warns about acting hastily, reminding us that moving too quickly without knowledge can cause us to miss the right path.Sometimes the heartbreak we experience later could have been avoided if we had slowed down long enough to listen. That does not mean every marriage that happens quickly will fail, nor does it mean that waiting guarantees a perfect marriage. It simply means wisdom should have a place in one of the biggest decisions you will ever make. GOD sees what we cannot see. I don't know if it's just me, but after talking about this on the podcast, I realized I'm not the only person who feels this way. A lot of people have said that one of the hardest things about Atlanta is trying to figure out who's actually genuine.I'm not saying everyone is like this, but it can feel like you're constantly questioning people's motives. Watching it actually made me understand Janet Jackson's perspective a little more. Janet loved her brother, and I can imagine how difficult it must be to keep reliving painful family memories over and over again. When you've already lost someone you love, having those old wounds opened repeatedly can't be easy.I can see why Janet may not have been completely supportive of revisiting certain parts of the family's history. Sometimes people simply want to move forward instead of constantly being reminded of the pain. That doesn't mean Michael Jackson doesn't deserve to have his story told—because I absolutely believe he does. I just think it's understandable that not everyone in the family would want to revisit those painful moments again and again.One thing I noticed is that this movie seemed to spend a lot more time highlighting who Joe Jackson really was and the impact he had on Michael. In my opinion, that was the main focus of the film. Most people already viewed Joe Jackson as an abusive father, especially after earlier portrayals over the years, but this movie seemed determined to make sure there was no confusion about how difficult that relationship really was.Personally, I still think the first Michael Jackson movie was better than this one. The second film felt much heavier because it focused so much on the abuse and the emotional damage within the Jackson family. If people can faithfully support someone who is wicked, then why can't Christians faithfully support God?Think about it.People will defend celebrities, politicians, influencers, and all kinds of people who have no real power outside of what God allows them to have. They'll argue online, make videos, wear their merchandise, and stand by them no matter what.But when it comes to talking about Jesus, suddenly people get quiet.It's like the cat has their tongue.They're worried about what someone might think. They're afraid of being judged. They're embarrassed to speak up. Yet they'll boldly defend someone who can't save them, heal them, or give them eternal life.God has all power.If we're willing to stand behind people who are flawed, why is it so hard to stand behind the One who created us?Nobody should be forced to believe what someone else believes. We all have the freedom to make our own choices. But if someone has the freedom to openly support the things they believe in, then Christians should have that same freedom to openly share their faith without feeling ashamed.The truth is, when you genuinely believe in God, there will be times when you feel like you're standing alone. Not everyone will understand you. Not everyone will agree with you. I want to share something with y’all today that really hit me in my spirit. Sometimes I come on here and share what God gives me because I believe there needs to be more content that points people back to Christ. There is so much noise on social media, so many distractions, and so many people chasing things that won’t matter in eternity. Recently, God challenged me with a simple question: "If you knew you were going to die tomorrow, would you be okay with where you're going?" That question stopped me in my tracks. A lot of people are afraid of death. Many people immediately start thinking about all the things they haven't done yet, all the places they haven't traveled, or all the goals they haven't accomplished. But why don't we spend that same energy making sure we're right with God? Jesus died for our sins. He endured rejection, persecution, suffering, and temptation. Yet He never stopped loving us. He didn't put off His purpose. He didn't say, "Let me go do everything I want first." He fulfilled what God called Him to do because He loved us that much. What I don't understand is how people can thank God for waking them up every morning but forget to thank Him for the promise of heaven. How can we ask Him to bless our meals but forget where those blessings come from? How can we ask for forgiveness while knowingly holding on to things we refuse to surrender? None of us are perfect. I make mistakes every day. I have weaknesses.I get tired. I fall short. But I know where my help comes from, and I know that my relationship with God is more important than anything this world can offer.  Too many people are trying to prove themselves to people who don't truly care. God reminded me that I don't have to be liked to be loved. His love is enough. So today, I challenge you: Don't just prepare for your future on earth. Prepare for eternity. Make pleasing God your highest priority. Because when you spend your life pursuing Him, you're showing Him that you're serious about where you're going.
