Private enterprise was illegal, forcing his father to secretly repair cars in exchange for goods.Kasl recounts his family’s carefully planned escape in 1983. Without telling the children, three families coordinated over years to flee. Under the guise of a vacation, they traveled through Eastern Europe, ultimately crossing into Austria illegally by hiking through mountainous terrain. From there, they made their way to West Germany and sought asylum, eventually immigrating to the United States. Their acceptance depended in part on not being affiliated with the Communist Party.Upon arriving in the U.S., Kasl experienced a stark contrast: a society where individual effort mattered more than background. He emphasizes America’s unique openness compared to Europe, where immigrants were often permanently labeled as outsiders.Returning years later to his homeland after the fall of communism, Kasl observed that many people struggled to adapt to freedom. Decades of living under authoritarian control had conditioned them to expect limited opportunity and government dependence. Some even expressed nostalgia for communism due to the false sense of security it provided.Throughout the conversation, Kasl and Harris draw parallels between communist systems and modern societal trends, particularly during COVID-era restrictions. Kasl warns that freedom can erode gradually when people become complacent or trade liberty for perceived safety.He also discusses how communism suppresses religion, replacing it with state ideology, and highlights the system’s historical record of oppression, inequality, and mass suffering. Chip and Joanna Gaines are Cable TV stars, famous for their ability to decorate, their company called Magnolia and their Christianity. Now they’re starting a new show where one of the couples featured is comprised of two men and two children they acquired through surrogacy. A lot of Christians are understandably upset about this, including me. Children need moms and dads, period, and to try to normalize anything else is an injustice not only to children, but also to society, and certainly does nothing to enhance the “Christian” brand that they claim to represent. He co-founded and serves as CEO of Vegas Stronger, a nonprofit that is working to end homelessness in Las Vegas by addressing key issues such as substance abuse, mental illness, and health issues. He founded and built one of the most successful addiction recovery centers in the country in the heart of Southern Nevada. The 30-year Las Vegas resident, after successfully addressing his own struggles with substance abuse, realized that he was uniquely suited to help others confronting addiction. Dave has been clean and sober since 5/15/05. His peers have consistently recognized Dave as a leader in his field. He is the President of the Southern Nevada Association of Addiction Professionals (S.N.A.A.P.) and the 2018 National Advocacy Award from the Association for Addiction Professionals. Locally, he has been recognized as a graduate of the Leadership Las Vegas program, with the Mayor’s Commendation, and received the Community Counseling Center of Southern Nevada’s Vanguard Award. He has served on the Governor’s Substance Abuse Working Group. Dave’s work in the recovery sector earned him the Inspired Excellence Award from Las Vegas H.E.A.L.S. He founded The C.A.R.E. Coalition and The Solutions Foundation, both of which combat substance abuse in Southern Nevada and help raise awareness about addictive behavior and its consequences. Dave has served on many nonprofit boards such as H.E.L.P. of Southern Nevada, the Las Vegas Rescue Mission, the Nevada Donor Network, Serving Our Kids Foundation, Shine-A-Light, and the U.N.L.V. Soccer Foundation. He has helped establish the first public recovery high school in the nation and is helping champion the fight against the opiate epidemic through the foundation, Vegas Stronger. He formerly was CEO of Crossroads of Southern Nevada, an indigent detox and housing facility, and Solutions Recovery, the largest private alcohol and other drug rehabilitation company in the state. Altogether, Dave has more than 30 years of health care experience in both recovery and insurance. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from the State University of New York and holds a Master’s in Business Administration and Master’s in Counseling from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Dave is pursuing his Doctorate degree in psychology at Walden University and is all but dissertation (ABD), towards his PsyD. Jerry Del Colliano is a professor at NYU Steinhardt, focusing on Music and the Media Industry. His bio is below. We had a great chat about how young people today are viewing media, how we in older forms of media can still reach them, and what happens if we don’t. Bio: Jerry Del Colliano is a broadcaster, media executive, and educator whose background uniquely includes the music industry and its often-disruptive convergence with traditional and digital media. He is the publisher of Inside Music Media, the aptly named and deadly honest paid-subscription publication that is read by music and media executives as well as investors and global interests looking to see the future of these important industries. Jerry was also the founder of Inside Radio and was a Clinical Professor of Music Industry at the University of Southern California. Jerry’s background includes major market television, radio (on-air and program management), traditional and digital publishing, speaking, and consulting. Gallup recently conducted a poll on trust in media, and trust is at a 50 year low. Those results are positive in my opinion. It’s come to light that Elon Musk has now produced a 13th child, with the fourth or fifth woman. She apparently is only coming forward because somebody in the media found out about it and was going to reveal it. The sad thing is it most conservatives don’t have a problem with this. A lot of liberals are trolling conservatives and making fun of this situation, asking, “Where are your family values?” and they’re exactly right. Here’ why it’s my business: When you have people producing children with multiple partners all over the place, they’re clearly not going to be as sympathetic to family policies as they should be. Strong families make a strong nation. Strong families aren’t “whoever you wanna have a baby with this week” and “whatever ZIP code you live in this year”, and kids need more than a nice crib. Regardless of how much money you have, you’re never gonna make up for the fact that children are being raised in unstable situations. That’s bad for our nation. That’s bad for our WORLD. Wanna know why conspiracies start and continue to grow when tragic events occur? I’ll tell you why – because the facts of a case are intentionally obscured. As of this recording, two of the three helicopter pilots involved in the crash between the Blackhawk and the commercial aircraft in Washington DC have been identified, but not all three. Many people are speculating that the person actually controlling the Blackhawk could have been a transgender person, possibly depressed because of potentially being tossed out of the military or maybe simply unqualified from the start. We don’t really know the truth. President Trump alluded to the possibility of this being a DEI situation in his press conference yesterday. Clearly, he knows more than we do about it, and until ALL the facts are presented conspiracies are going to grow. We’ve all learned that we cannot trust the mainstream media to tell us anything. What I learned from watching the RFK Junior hearing in the Senate was that the Senators want to keep the status quo. They’re not interested in anybody who’s asking legitimate questions about the health of Americans and why it’s so poor. They don’t want to talk about nutrition. They don’t want to talk about vaccines and whether or not they’re safe and/or causing health issues. They don’t want SOLUTIONS. So many in the Senate have been compromised by Big Pharma that it was frankly sickening to watch. What we learned in the end was that nobody wants anything to change, and despite what Trump may want to accomplish, the special interests are so entrenched that I doubt he’s going to get very far, certainly when it comes to Health and Human Services. I’m very excited to see Trump back, but we cannot get complacent. All of our problems aren’t going to be solved during his Presidency. We need to remember that, hold Trump and his cabinet accountable, and give everything to God. Our problems are spiritual not political. So while I do expect Trump to do a much better job for America than Kamala would, he’s not our savior. Our nation has received a reprieve in my opinion. We deserved Kamala. Nevada Governor Lombardo gave his state of the state speech last night in Nevada, where he outlined his objectives for the next legislative session, which begins here in a couple of weeks. I have no idea what he was actually proposing. There were very few specifics about anything. There was talk of things like “school choice”, but no details on legislation to give parents the ability to take their tax dollars and direct them toward private education for their children or anything that’s really concrete. The governor is trying to run for re-election obviously and he has a Democrat legislature to deal with. The City of Las Vegas is on the hook for screwing a developer out of his right to build on his land. Former City Councilman and CPA Bob Beers, the smartest guy to ever serve on the City Council in my opinion, warned the city ten years ago that they had no right to stop Yohan Lowie from developing his land the way he wanted to.  Now the City of Las Vegas has to pony up HUGE amounts, after numerous courts found them in error,  and after they kicked the can down the road for ten years, socint tapers far more than they should have had to spend. As we head into what may be one of the most important elections of my lifetime, we have to keep in mind that our problems are spiritual. The Biden ministration has gone far beyond encouraging children to be affirmed and changing sex. Now health and human services are requiring foster homes to be “”affirming” to children who are struggling with their sexual identity. And before you think that these are children who are already struggling with their identity, and therefore wound up in the foster care system, that’s not at all true. They interview very young children about their sexuality, ask them leading questions designed to confuse them, and then funnel them into “affirming” foster homes. It’s evil it’s wrong, and it will continue under a Kamala Harris administration.. There’s currently been a lawsuit filed by parents in Maryland against the Children’s Hospital that forced them to affirm their child and to remove the passages from their Bibles that disagreed with the transgender agenda. I’m not making that up. I wish I were. Christians must participate in the electoral process. We cannot sit it out because we don’t like the candidates. We only have human choices on the ballot, and we always have a better choice or a worse choice. We simply cannot sit home and not participate.
