Life Gets MoCrazy- Tapping Into Your Passion Story

Christine received her Master’s in Psychological Services from University of Pennsylvania, and early in her career, Christine was a system’s therapist for families and children and realized how helping families become more emotionally intelligent could be applied to business. At 26, she shifted into the corporate Employee Assistance field, then parlayed all these experiences into owning her own executive coaching consulting business to Fortune 500 companies helping companies grow sales and revenue, develop people and create transformative cultures.   To help businesses understand and use the power of story as a cutting-edge communication tool, she authored “The Art of The Nudge; Unlocking Your Hidden Potential.” Through her professional and personal experiences, she learned that most people were not taught the emotional skills as she was, and simply needed tools to learn HOW to develop their EQ that sets them apart.  In late 2018, she decided it was time to parlay all of her experiences together and formed EQuipt. Weekly, Christine hosts a business radio show where executive leaders share their personal story of who they were growing up and how that impacts their passion and success today. Life Gets MoCrazy. On May 26th I will be interviewing Stacy Bare the founder of Adventure Not War. From active duty serviceman to alcoholic and addict to a man who used the outdoors to heal, meet Stacy Bare. Stacy Bare is more than just a veteran. And what started out as a goal to save himself has turned into a goal to get everyone outside to share in nature’s healing powers.   The mission for Adventure Not War is to climb, ski and adventure in all the places where Stacy fought in the Iraq war. Stacy hopes to promote world peace and understanding through adventure. The vehicle to do that is through telling the story of these places through the lens of adventure: climbing, skiing, over landing, boating, maybe even paragliding. Adventure and the outdoors saved Stacy’s life and he believes it can also be a fundamental ingredient on the road to a sustained peace.

Every single person who had a Brain Injury has new doors opened for them, take a leap of faith and walk through those doors. In this show, I am going to be interviewing Erin Lieben. The summer after high school Erin decided to try golf.  A golf club came shooting across the sky and struck her head in the left frontal region, causing a contusion, multiple fractures, and a skull depression. It also caused Erin’s world to completely change. Her emotions were out of control. All of a sudden she couldn’t work. She couldn’t concentrate. She could not remember much at all. She was told she could not attend college but that didn’t stop her from trying. She could read. She just could not remember what she had read. College was going to be a lot tougher than Erin had thought. A lot happened in her life and now she works with a mental health agency. Getting a Traumatic Brain Injury during a simple summer day was the worst thing that had ever happened to Erin. Fifteen years later, she can honestly say it is the best thing that has ever happened to her. Erin told me she learned more from that split second than from any other event in her life. She learned that she is strong. She built up that strength by learning from and compensating for the weaknesses she had acquired. Erin learned how to learn with her new brain. Now Erin is more than ready for my next adventure of life, whatever that adventure might be.

At the age of 15 as a result of a suicide attempt, Spencer acquired a traumatic brain injury that changed his life forever. After an extensive hospital stay and literally years and years of therapy and of hard work he became who he is today.  I am very excited to talk with Spencer because he embodies the theme of my show.  No matter what happened in the past, you CAN create a life you love and are happy with if you are willing to take the time and put in the work to create the life you have dreamed of living.    As part of Spencer’s therapy, his parents provided music lessons because he had an interest in music before his traumatic brain injury and his parents thought that would help his brain heal. Spencer has always been interested in art and music. Spencer lost friends after his TBI because he couldn’t walk or talk, but he had music. Spencer listened to music all the time and noticed how songs related and connected with each other. Spencer thought it would be cool to mix songs together. So he taught himself how and today he is a very successful DJ performing with big artists in front of thousands.
