150 | How to Reach Others For Jesus Without Feeling Pushy (1 John Bible Study)
Find the full episode here: LivingOnPurposeInChrist.com/blogA noisy life can make faith feel blurry. The epistle of 1 John opens with a simple, steady picture: a loving leader sitting close, reminding believers to stay near to Jesus, keep going, and live honestly in a world full of distraction and mixed messages. If you’ve been trying to balance work, family, ministry, and spiritual disciplines while wondering whether your ordinary rhythms can really make an impact for Christ, this walk through 1 John brings clarity and calm.We trace the letter’s big themes: Jesus as real and personally known, fellowship that restores joy, and the grounding truth that God is light. That light doesn’t demand perfection or polished appearances, it invites confession, forgiveness, and freedom because Jesus is our advocate. From there, the writer of this letter gets practical fast, he writes about how obedience grows from relationship, and love for God shows up in love for people. The strongest Christian testimony often isn’t a perfect speech, it’s patient, truthful, compassionate love that stands out in a harsh culture. We also talk discernment and spiritual deception, why knowing Scripture for yourself matters, and how the Holy Spirit helps guide you into Truth. Then the letter lifts your eyes to identity and assurance: those who place their faith in Jesus are children of God, rooted in a love that casts out fear, strengthened by faith that overcomes the world, and invited into confident prayer. John’s closing warning about idols lands close to home too, especially when success, comfort, approval, or busyness start taking God’s place. If you want a clear next step, consider downloadable, printable study resources so you can keep going in God’s Word. 149 | I Want to Share My Faith But Don’t Know How: What 2 Peter Teaches Us (Bible Study)
Find the full episode here: LivingOnPurposeInChrist.com/blogYour faith doesn’t usually fall apart all at once. More often, it drifts quietly through exhaustion, compromise, and that nagging sense that you’re not making an impact. In this episode, we slow down and walk through the letter of 2 Peter with a simple goal: to help you grow strong in your faith, stand firm in truth, and influence others for Christ without living under pressure or overwhelm. If you’ve been feeling spiritually tired, scattered in your study of scripture, or in need of fresh biblical encouragement, this conversation will meet you there. Peter writes like a man who knows time is short, and his message is surprisingly practical for everyday faith, daily devotions, and the real emotions women carry as they try to stay grounded in Christ. We talk about God’s promise that He has already given us everything we need for life and godliness, then trace what real spiritual growth looks like as we add to our faith with character, endurance, and love. We also unpack why spiritual forgetfulness makes us ineffective, and how daily time in God’s Word serves as steady remembrance rather than a hunt for something new. From there, we anchor into the authority of Scripture and why the Bible is more than motivational content in a confusing world. Chapter two brings a needed warning about false teachers, discernment, and the difference between messages that sound freeing and truth that actually sets us free. Finally, we sit with Peter’s eternal perspective: God’s timing, God’s patience, and the question that should shape our choices right now: “What kind of people ought you to be?”If you enjoy pairing your quiet time with essential oils or creating a peaceful space through aromatherapy, this episode will fit beautifully into that rhythm as you bring your feelings, questions, and faith before the Lord. It’s a steady, Scripture-rooted invitation to return to truth, strengthen your walk, and keep growing with purpose. 148 | Natural Living Becomes Clear When You Ask God Better Questions
Find the full episode here: LivingOnPurposeInChrist.com/blogYou have felt the nudge while grabbing groceries, replacing a cleaner, or tossing another maybe not great product into the cart: Lord, how do I honor You with my health and my home? It is a familiar feeling, and feelings of overwhelm do not have to dictate your choices. We go straight to the heart of the question many believers carry quietly: is natural living biblical, and how do we pursue Christian wellness without fear, perfectionism, or the pressure to do everything at once?We talk about stewardship as a spiritual practice, because our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit and our daily choices are never just physical. I walk through simple, grounding questions that help you move from overwhelm to wisdom, like what you have been allowing in without awareness and whether something supports the way God designed your body to function. You will hear why peace matters as a guide for discernment, how bringing these decisions into your morning devotions can anchor your heart, and how a God-centered lifestyle grows through relationship instead of rigid checklists. We also dig into essential oils and the gentle science of aromatherapy, exploring the way aroma powerfully connects to memory and our everyday emotions. Then, I introduce the Christ-centered Aroma Freedom Technique as a gentle path for identifying limiting beliefs and replacing lies with God's truth. That is where repentance as metanoeō (μετανοέω), a true change of mind, becomes practical and personal, changing habits over time and turning natural living into quiet ministry that points back to the Creator.Grab the free guide, "12 Questions To Ask Before Switching To Natural Wellness Solutions" at PaulaBehrens.com/guide and take your next step with clarity. 146 | God and Business: Knowing Your Niche and Serving With Purpose
Find the full episode here: LivingOnPurposeInChrist.com/blogHave you ever felt pulled in a hundred directions, wondering if you're truly serving the purpose God placed in your heart? What if the missing piece in your God-led business isn’t a new platform or a bigger budget, but a clearer picture of the one person you’re called to serve?Join us as we welcome Lisa Stoops, Christian entrepreneur and host of Kingdom Business & Mindset for Faith-Led Female Entrepreneurs, for a conversation about how specificity is more than a business strategy—it’s an act of stewardship before the Lord. Together, we explore how prayerful focus, authentic testimony, and practical strategy can help you turn calling into clients while staying rooted in Jesus, biblical encouragement, and Spirit-led obedience. We begin by naming the tension many faith-led women feel: the desire to make a broad impact while also protecting space for God’s presence, peace, and guidance. Lisa shares the true centerpiece of effective marketing—deep audience understanding—and explains how your own story often reveals the people you are uniquely equipped to serve. From identifying pain points and using your audience’s exact language to shaping offers that walk someone from struggle to solution, this episode shows how clarity transforms your message, content, and business growth. Paula also brings in niche examples from the essential oils space, showing how tailored messaging can build trust, loyalty, and a brand identity that feels aligned, honest, and memorable. You’ll hear why starting narrow can lead to greater traction and income, why “stay in your lane” can honor the body of Christ, and how simple spiritual rhythms like scripture, prayer, devotions, and even calming aromatherapy can help you process feelings, settle emotions, and hear God’s direction more clearly. We also touch on how essential oils can support a peaceful atmosphere for reflection and decision-making as you seek the Lord about your next step. Expect practical takeaways you can use right away: identify your ideal person, name their top needs and desires, and create an offer that serves them with care, clarity, and confidence. If you’re ready to move from vague to vivid and from striving to spirit-led strategy, this conversation will leave you encouraged and equipped. If this episode resonated with you, follow the show, leave a review, and share it with a friend who needs clarity in her calling. 145 | Easter Is Not Over: How to Walk Daily In the Resurrection
Find the full episode here: LivingOnPurposeInChrist.com/blogEaster doesn’t belong to one Sunday a year. In this episode, we’re asking a question that gets personal fast: what if the Resurrection of Jesus Christ is meant to be lived every day, not simply remembered? If the tomb is empty and Jesus is alive, then fear doesn’t get to lead, spiritual dryness doesn’t get to define you, and your quiet obedience is never wasted. We open Scripture and sit with the weight of 1 Corinthians 15, where the Resurrection isn’t symbolic language, it’s the foundation that holds up our hope and offers real biblical encouragement for everyday life.We also explore the New Testament idea of anastasis (ἀνάστασις), the rising up that only God can do, and how Romans 6 invites us to walk in newness of life right now. That means your home, your work, your business, your relationships, and your hidden moments of faithfulness become places where resurrection power shows up. We talk honestly about why time in the Bible, prayer, and devotions can drift when life gets noisy, and how God’s invitation is always relationship, not perfection. Then we share a practical support we use in coaching, the Aroma Freedom Technique, connecting a bit of neuroscience with the way scent, emotions, and feelings interact. The goal isn’t to replace Scripture, but to calm the mind and body so God’s truth can be received more clearly and our thoughts can align with His Word. We also touch on how aromatherapy and essential oils can support a more peaceful, intentional space as you meet with God.You’ll also hear about my “How to Hear God’s Voice Again” prompt cards, created to help you rebuild a simple rhythm of listening, reflecting, and responding to the Lord with greater peace and clarity. 144 | Holy Week Truths and the Quiet Witness: Reaching Others Right Where You Are
Find the full episode here: LivingOnPurposeInChrist.com/blogWhat if the most powerful way you share the gospel isn’t through louder words, but through a life that leaves a holy aroma behind? In this Holy Week episode, we slow down with fresh eyes to notice the quiet moments that carry eternal significance. From Jesus entering Jerusalem in humility to the unseen faithfulness that can stir so many feelings when it seems like nothing is changing, we talk honestly about what it’s like to obey God without instant results and why God is still moving beneath the surface. We linger over the costly beauty of spikenard and the anointing stories in the Gospels, including why these were not all the same event. Mary’s offering filled the house with fragrance and, in a very real way, stayed with Jesus for days. That beautiful detail becomes a living picture of the fragrance of Christ and the Greek word euōdia (εὐωδία), a fragrant offering rising to God as worship. If you’ve been longing for more meaningful devotions and a doable rhythm for quiet time, this conversation offers biblical encouragement to help you see surrender as something that carries lasting impact. We also explore three Greek words for healing, iaomai (ἰάομαι), therapeuō (θεραπεύω), and sōzō (σῴζω), to reveal how Jesus restores instantly, over time, and into deep wholeness. Then we connect prayer, renewing the mind, and the Aroma Freedom Technique with the God-designed relationship between scent, memory, emotions, and feeling safe in His presence. You’ll also hear how aromatherapy and essential oils can serve as simple supports in your devotional life, helping create space to pause, pray, and process feelings with the Lord.If you work from home, run a business, or ever wonder whether your daily environment really “counts” as ministry, this episode will remind you that your presence shapes the atmosphere. In this episode, we’re diving into God and work, and why so many believers want their work to matter but feel stuck between obedience and hiding. Whether you serve through your workplace, business, ministry, home office, or everyday responsibilities, this conversation will encourage you to see how God can use your life to reach people for Christ without asking you to become someone you’re not.We explore the real ways fear shows up online and at work, including procrastination, comparison, overpreparing, and staying small. Then we turn to the antidote Jesus gives in John 15: abiding. We unpack what it means to remain in Him, why peace is not weakness, and how creativity, devotions, and faith-rooted business grow stronger when they flow from God’s presence instead of pressure, perfectionism, or the need to prove yourself. You’ll hear practical examples of what abiding can look like before you open your laptop, write content, lead clients, or make a decision you’ve been avoiding. We also talk honestly about emotions, feeling fragile in your confidence, and why feelings can become shaky foundations when they are tied to approval or results. 142 | Do Our Pets Matter to God? Faith, Grief and the Comfort of Heaven
Find the full episode here: LivingOnPurposeInChrist.com/blogLosing a beloved pet can leave your home feeling so quiet and your heart full of tender emotions. If you have ever held your sweet animal close, whispered “I love you,” and then felt the deep ache of goodbye, you are not overreacting and you are not alone. In this episode, I talk honestly about Christian pet loss grief, the hidden guilt many believers carry when their feelings feel bigger than they expected, and the biblical encouragement that reminds us God cares deeply about all of His creation.I also share something personal: losing my sweet kitty cat Raina. I walk through what helped me in those first tender days, including creating a small memorial space in my garden for remembrance, gratitude, and quiet reflection. We look at what Scripture says in Psalm 36:6 and Matthew 10:29, and we explore what it means to grieve with hope. You will also hear how the New Testament meaning of hope, elpis (ἐλπίς), points us beyond wishful thinking into a confident expectation of God’s future restoration. Finally, I share how the Aroma Freedom Technique can support grief healing in a Christ-centered way through prayerful reflection, guided questions, and aromatherapy. By thoughtfully using essential oils like lavender or frankincense alongside prayer and devotions, this gentle practice can help calm the nervous system, make space for honest feeling, and support the release of stuck emotional patterns. If you are grieving the loss of a pet and feel like your emotions are tender, heavy, or hard to process on your own, an Aroma Freedom Coaching session may be a gentle next step. This is a caring space to bring what is on your heart, release emotional weight, and invite God into your healing journey with peace and intention. Find the full episode here: LivingOnPurposeInChrist.com/blogWhat if your message could flow from peace instead of pressure? We explore the quiet shift from performing for approval to partnering with God in your work, your creativity, and your online presence. Instead of chasing confidence, we practice koinōnia (κοινωνία)—biblical partnership that turns content into worship and replaces comparison with companionship. We start by naming the exhaustion so many women face—getting honest about the feeling and feelings of trying to sound polished while disconnected from the joy of walking with Jesus. Then we dig into the heart of alignment: asking better questions like “Holy Spirit, what are You inviting me into?” and “What is mine to say?” You’ll hear how the New Testament vision of koinōnia reframes your desk as a place of shared purpose with Christ. From there, we get practical. God designed your brain, and He cares about your emotions. We explain how the amygdala triggers fear of judgment and how simple sensory anchors—using essential oils and aromatherapy—paired with prayer can quiet the inner critic. Through a gentle Aroma Freedom approach, you learn to name lies, breathe, and replace fear with biblical encouragement and Scripture-shaped clarity. This creates a fresh space for your devotions, allowing boldness to rise up even before you feel ready. We close by inviting steady, Spirit-led creativity that feels like you: grounded, reverent, and consistent. 137 | Why Your Body Remembers Spiritual Weariness (And How to Release Feelings Gently)
Find the full episode here: LivingOnPurposeInChrist.com/blogFeeling worn thin but still trying to hold everything together? In this episode, we open a gentle space to breathe, anchoring on Jesus’ words, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” Not as a slogan, but as a lived promise that moves from the page into your body, your schedule, and your everyday rhythms at home and work.We explore how hidden exhaustion often hides behind competence and steady yeses, and why rest in Scripture is more than time off—it is soul-level renewal. You’ll hear a simple Greek word study on anapauō (ἀναπαύω) and how it points to relief that restores what constant striving drains, along with biblical encouragement for the woman who loves God but feels spiritually tired. We talk about how abiding in Christ shifts us from performance to connection, and why a nervous system stuck on high alert can make prayer feel distant, even when your heart longs for God.Along the way, we introduce a prayerful aroma practice—faith-filled aromatherapy that pairs scent with focused attention on Jesus. Because smell connects directly to the brain’s emotional center, gentle aromas and essential oils can support calm emotions and help quiet fight-or-flight so Scripture can settle in during your devotions. This is not therapy or a shortcut; it’s a simple, faith-rooted tool that honors how God designed us.You’ll leave with doable steps—brief pauses, slow breaths, honest journaling, and a renewed posture of receiving rather than proving. If your soul needs a kind invitation, this conversation offers one, plus a thoughtful next step if you’re ready for guided support. 136 | God Is Still Speaking—But Are You Asking the Right Questions?
Find the full episode here: LivingOnPurposeInChrist.com/blogWhat if the distance you feel isn’t failure, but longing calling you back to attention? In this episode, we unpack a kinder way to rekindle intimacy with God—one that trades pressure for presence and turns small daily moments into places of real guidance. I share how the biblical idea of hearing, akouō (ἀκούω), from a simple Greek word study, invites responsive listening rather than chasing louder signals, and why so many of us misread subtle peace, a lingering verse, or a quiet check in the spirit as “nothing.” We’ll talk about how overload, not rebellion, often mutes discernment, and how restoring margin can make prayer feel alive again with fresh biblical encouragement. To make that shift practical, we look at the nervous system and why stillness can feel unsafe when life runs hot and our emotions are already stretched thin. You’ll learn how scent reaches the limbic system directly and how aromatherapy—using essential oils as a calming sensory anchor—can pair beautifully with Scripture, devotions, and simple reflection to cue safety, soften hurry, and open space to notice God’s steady presence. This isn’t a shortcut or a gimmick; it’s a gentle, neurological assist that supports classic disciplines like meditation, journaling, and silence.Along the way, I share journal prompts that help you reframe the day from “Why can’t I hear God?” to “Where might God be present right now?”—a small pivot that changes the texture of everything. We’ll also map out a sustainable rhythm for focus and clarity, from memory verses and word studies to daily devotionals and sensory cues. If you’re craving peace, direction, or a fresh way to listen without adding pressure, this conversation will help you slow down, notice more, and respond with confidence. 135 | Hearing God Clearly in a Noisy World: How Do I Know My Next Steps?
Find the full episode here: LivingOnPurposeInChrist.com/blogA quiet stirring is rising in so many hearts—a nudge to serve, to speak, to mentor, to live faith more boldly—but the details are fuzzy and the noise is loud. In this episode, we open a clear path through the overwhelm by leaning into presence over pressure, so your next steps feel peaceful, grounded, and real. Rather than pushing for answers, we make space for them, weaving Scripture, gentle neuroscience insights, biblical encouragement, and the calming gift of aromatherapy to help settle the body and clarify the mind.We talk about how God often plants holy desire before He reveals the blueprint, and why trying to force outcomes—scrolling, comparing, overplanning—only drowns out the whisper you’re longing to hear. You’ll learn how stress can hijack your emotions and narrow spiritual discernment, and how a calmer nervous system can widen creativity, prayerful imagination, and deeper reception to the Spirit’s guidance. We unpack the Aroma Freedom technique in a Christ-centered way, showing how guided intention, breathing, and essential oils can help quiet competing noise so you can listen with your whole being. Along the way, we highlight the biblical thread of aroma in worship and the rich idea of anakrinō (ἀνακρίνω)—discernment as careful, unhurried evaluation under the Spirit’s lead.If you’ve felt unqualified or unsure about reaching others for Christ, we reframe evangelism as clarity before courage: when you know your story, season, and sphere, sharing good news looks like a natural conversation, not a performance. Expect practical rhythms to carry into your week—simple habits to reclaim stillness, anchor prayer, and confirm the next right step.Want a deeper, guided experience? 134 | Why That Memory Still Hurts: Letting Go Without Forgetting the Lessons You've Learned
Find the full episode here: LivingOnPurposeInChrist.com/blogWhat if the moment you feel small or guarded isn’t a faith failure, but your nervous system asking for healing? In this episode, we open up a tender, practical path for Christians who love Jesus yet feel blocked when they want to pray, speak, or lead. Rather than stuffing emotions or shaming ourselves, we explore how God meets us where memory, body, and spirit intersect—so forgiveness becomes release, and witness flows from peace.Across the conversation, we unpack emotional charge and why certain tones, comments, or invitations trigger outsized reactions long after the event is over. We revisit the biblical depth of forgiveness through the lens of aphiēmi (ἀφίημι)—letting go, sending away, and loosening what has been bound. We connect this to how the brain stores pain and how memory reconsolidation can help the heart remember without being ruled by intensity. Then we turn to the surprising power of aroma through aromatherapy. Because smell reaches the brain’s emotional center directly, it can surface and soothe old imprints without forcing a retelling. From Joseph and Nicodemus preparing Jesus’ body with myrrh and aloes to incense and anointing throughout Scripture, we trace how God has long used scent to steady weary souls. We also walk through the Aroma Freedom Technique as a gentle, Holy Spirit-led way to access and release stored emotion while staying regulated and safe. No pushing, no reliving—just a prayerful space where truth replaces fear and the body learns peace. As that charge fades, daily witness changes: your words feel lighter, courage grows quieter but stronger, and people sense a grounded presence that invites trust. To help you keep that freedom, we share simple rhythms for your devotions—presence over perfection, breath prayers, brief journaling with simple journal prompts, and compassionate boundaries that fit real life and a busy schedule. You’ll leave with biblical encouragement that helps you make it doable today, because small steps add up.If you’re longing to speak about Jesus with renewed confidence and clarity, or if your quiet time feels heavy despite your best efforts, you’re not alone. Find the full episode here: LivingOnPurposeInChrist.com/blogWhat if binge eating isn’t a lack of willpower, but a signal that your heart and body need tender care? In this episode, we open a clear, compassionate path out of the binge–shame cycle by reframing emotional eating through Christianity, Scripture, neuroscience, and gentle daily rhythms that restore peace. Instead of piling on rules, we look at how self-control grows as a fruit of the Spirit, why condemnation keeps you stuck, and how conviction draws you toward healing with clarity and love through steady biblical encouragement.Together, we unpack the real drivers—stress, loneliness, exhaustion, grief—and how the nervous system reaches for quick relief when emotions go unprocessed. We share a practical approach that pairs prayer with physiology: short resets, calm breathing, and aromatherapy support using essential oils, alongside the Aroma Freedom Technique to uncover and release emotional roots. You’ll hear how reframing your body as God’s temple replaces guilt with value, inviting care, nourishment, and compassion. From that place, food returns to its rightful role as a good gift rather than a coping tool.We also walk through the "Build a Better Meal" framework, a simple, faith-centered guide that helps you fuel consistently, lower decision fatigue, and separate hunger from stress. And if you’ve been craving more consistency with God, we’ll connect these wellness rhythms to your devotions, including gentle reflection and journal prompts that help you process what’s really happening underneath the cravings. 132 | Feeling Vulnerable? God’s Anointing Is About Protection, Not Your Performance
Find the full episode here: LivingOnPurposeInChrist.com/blogFeeling worn thin by good intentions and endless to-dos? We open a gentle but powerful doorway back to peace by exploring the shepherd’s anointing—a vivid, ancient practice that reveals how God tends our minds and hearts before irritation turns into injury. Through a funny sunrise service story, grounded teaching in Psalm 23, and practical reflections on everyday spiritual rhythms, we offer Biblical encouragement that helps your walk with Jesus feel steady again, not strained. This is Christianity lived from rest, not performance, with simple devotions that fit real life and help you reconnect when you feel frayed, unseen, or overwhelmed. We walk through the overlooked detail that sheep were anointed with oil for protection and healing, then connect it to the New Testament’s language of aleiphō (ἀλείφω)—anointing for care, not spectacle—through a brief Greek word study that makes the passage come alive. From there, we trace how the Holy Spirit now does within us what oil once did on the fleece: guarding thoughts from “infestation,” softening wounds before they harden into cynicism, and creating a cared-for inner environment where life can flourish. You’ll hear how peace, not pressure, becomes our most credible witness, and why people are drawn more to a non-anxious presence than to perfect words. We also share how sensory anchors through aromatherapy, like Rose of Sharon oil, can help slow our pace and center our attention during prayer—especially for those serving quietly, working from home, or feeling spiritually dry—and we’ll offer a few gentle guidance to help you process what God is restoring. If your faith has felt like performance, consider this a reset. Covered people love more freely, choose wiser boundaries, and speak with weight because their words rise from rest. 131 | What Does Biblical Christian Living Look Like Today? Words of Wisdom from 1 Peter
Find the full episode here: LivingOnPurposeInChrist.com/blogWhat if the most powerful kind of faith is the kind no one applauds? We open with a family crisis that turned a festive Christmas into a humble meal and, unexpectedly, a quiet altar of surrender. From that tender starting point, we walk through 1 Peter, using a gentle Greek word study to uncover a living hope that holds when plans collapse and the spotlight is gone.We trace Peter's arc from failure to restoration and why his voice matters for ordinary believers who feel scattered by life. Our devotions dive deep into how identity as God's chosen people reshapes small decisions, with practical biblical encouragement that explores how trials refine faith like fire tempers gold. We'll unpack the Greek idea of elpis—a confident expectation rooted in the resurrection—and discuss how hope should be visible in tone, choices, and endurance.Relationships take center stage: gentleness as strength, respect as witness, and a clear conscience that can answer hard questions without heat or haste. Peter's image of living stones makes belonging tangible, and his call to serve with our gifts cuts through comparison culture. Leaders shepherd by example. Everyone wears humility. And at the heart of it all sits one of Scripture's softest invitations: cast all your anxiety on God because He cares. If you're hungry for a steadier rhythm of Scripture, prayer, and simple practices that fit real life, you'll find clear guidance, grounded encouragement, and next steps to make your hope show up where it counts. If this resonated, share it with a friend who needs quiet courage. 129 | Courage In Christianity: Faith That Stands Firm in a Shifting World
Find the full episode here >>> LivingOnPurposeInChrist.com/blogWhen Christianity starts to feel like swimming upstream, we don't need louder opinions—we need deeper roots. As we explore the book of James together, we gain fresh perspectives: trials become fertile soil for endurance, wisdom is freely given to those who ask, and the call to live the Word is about transforming our habits, not just filling our minds. Of course, we acknowledge the real tensions—unchecked desires leading to temptation, the draw of favoritism, and how our words can bless or wound—and we propose clear practices for cultivating a steadfast faith.James teaches that grace and action are not opposing forces but partners. We delve into the fruits of a living faith—generosity, integrity, patience, self-control—and the essential balance of mercy and truth for healing. Through exploration and Greek word study, we unpack terms like therapeuō , suggesting gradual care; sōzō, denoting restoring wholeness; and iaomai, implying instantaneous healing. This nuanced biblical encouragement instills hope for body and soul alike, under God's tender care.We shift our focus from success based on status and wealth to character, justice, and compassion, grounding everything in humility and the belief that God comes near to the open-hearted. The central theme is teleios—maturity as wholeness, not flawlessness. You don’t need a platform to make a significant impact. Small, faithful steps in conversation, patience, prayer, and integrity are seeds that God transforms and grows. For those desiring practical wisdom, honest encouragement, and a human yet holy path forward, you’ll find it all here. 126 | When Yesterday Still Speaks: Gentle Healing for Wounds You Didn’t Know You Carried
Find the full episode here >>> LivingOnPurposeInChrist.com/blogImagine your hardest spiritual moments not as signs of weak faith but as your body's way of signaling a need for safety before your heart can truly hear God. Our conversation crafts a compassionate path for Christians who love Jesus yet struggle with pray, feel uncomfortable in silence, or procrastinate about quiet rhythms that “should” bring peace. We’ll share a lighthearted sunrise-service story involving some enthusiastically mooing cows and transition into discussing how memory, biology, and Scripture come together in spiritual formation. We'll explore the difference between true peace and familiar comfort, helping you understand why discomfort doesn’t always signal danger and why comfort isn’t always a confirmation of God’s will. By embracing Christianity's rich use of the senses—such as incense, anointing oil, bread, and wine—we delve into how God uses embodied practices to anchor truth within us. Discover how the limbic system reacts to scent, why a single mindful breath can soften triggering instincts, and how essential oils and aromatherapy can support emotional release without revisiting trauma. This isn’t bypassing Scripture; it’s engaging with how God designed us to rest in Him.We’ll also touch on the Greek word, anamnesis (ἀνάμνησις)—an active, identity-shaping remembrance in Christianity. Far from simple nostalgia, it's an embodied way to let Christ’s life, death, and Resurrection reshape our narratives. When we pair aroma with the Word and prayer, our nervous system starts associating God’s presence with safety, transforming Scripture from feeling like pressure to bringing peace. This shift can change how we perceive our quiet time, turning it into a place of calm rather than stress and making prayer readily accessible. For those ready to breathe and to let God reinterpret what your body remembers, this conversation is especially for you. Find the full episode here >>> LivingOnPurposeInChrist/blogWhat if the most powerful witness of your faith happens far from a platform, inside the ordinary places where forgiveness costs you something? We open the letter to Philemon and trace a tender, courageous call to receive a brother not by his past but by his union with Christ. From Paul’s house arrest to Onesimus’ transformation, we follow a thread of grace that reframes identity, reorders relationships, and asks us to let theology walk into our living rooms. We explore koinōnia (κοινωνία) —the Greek word for the shared life of Christ that turns fellowship into partnership and participation. This vision pulls Christianity from theory to practice: absorbing a cost for someone’s good, extending welcome when resentment would be easier, and honoring safety and wisdom when reconciliation requires boundaries. Along the way, a lighthearted story about a goat in church reminds us that life is unpredictable, but God’s patient work in quiet hearts continues, unseen and unstoppable. You’ll hear why small acts matter: a prayer whispered in a kitchen, a debt released, a door opened to someone returning. We raise the questions Scripture hands us: How do I respond when obedience is costly? How do I hold power with humility? Can I see a brother or sister in Christ beyond their history? 123 | Christian Evangelism: Sharing Your Faith Without Saying A Word (Titus Bible Study)
Find the full episode here >>> LivingOnPuposeInChrist.com/blogThe busiest month of the year is also the most open for Evangelism, as the lights go up and schedules tighten in our Christianity journey. As we walk through Titus to find a resilient way of living that feels both ancient and fresh—truth that anchors, grace that trains, and good works that shine in ordinary places—we explore how ministry can transform quiet moments. We start with a personal story of surrender on a Christmas Day detour, along with biblical encouragement that beauty can bloom where plans fall apart. From there, we shift to Paul’s vision of leadership as character—faithfulness, self-control, hospitality, and integrity—because influence in God’s kingdom flows from who we are, not the titles we hold.We dig into the “Life Together” heartbeat of chapter two: older men and women setting the pace, younger women and men finding sturdy footing, and Titus modeling a life worth imitating. The noise of modern life makes this countercultural: instead of hot takes (opinions without facts), we practice warm tables and lived mentorship through devotions and journal prompts that keep us grounded. Then we turn to the hinge of the letter—grace, not just forgiveness, but power that appears, saves, and tutors us to say no to what corrodes and yes to what makes us whole. That inner training turns into a visible witness: calm in long lines, perhaps enhanced by simple aromatherapy with essential oils, gentleness in tense rooms, and generosity in hidden moments. Finally, we clear the fog around good works—they don’t purchase salvation; they express it through courtesy, honesty, and kindness as the natural fruit of a heart remade by mercy, especially in December when small acts speak loud for Evangelism. Along the way, we offer simple rhythms to stay grounded in Scripture, cultivate self-control, and live as people whose ordinary days preach a beautiful gospel without a stage or spotlight, drawing on biblical encouragement for your devotions. If this speaks to your season, press play, share the episode with a friend who needs peace, and leave a quick review so others can find it. 121 | Clarify Your Christian Calling: How to Know When God Is Nudging You
Find the full episode here >>> LivingOnPurposeInChrist.com/blogFeeling faithful but foggy about your purpose? We explore how calling becomes clearer when we release perfection, slow down, and let God meet us in ordinary moments. Paula shares a candid story of wrestling with her own calling, from anxiety at an entrance review to discovering a path that shifted from pulpit to podcasting. Along the way, we reframe common myths—like the idea that there's only one calling—and lift up the sacred weight of quiet, unseen faithfulness. We dig into the New Testament idea of kalesis (κλῆσις) as a personal, purposeful summons that shapes identity as much as activity. That lens opens space to see how holy desire and holy burden often meet: what breaks your heart, what brings joy, where energy rises instead of drains. You’ll hear practical ways to create a listening life—short prayer rhythms, Scripture focus, and sensory cues that calm the nervous system so your spirit can hear the Spirit. We talk honestly about fear dressed up as wisdom and how willingness precedes confidence. Nothing in your story is wasted; God redeems pain into compassion and redirects into maturity. If you’re ready to move from insight to action, we map out the smallest next step—teach one person, write one paragraph, serve in one place—and why small obedience grows lasting impact. We also invite you to steady your growth with simple, consistent practices and a supportive community that journeys through Scripture, book by book (EssentialFaithJourney.com). 120 | Have You Ever Felt Unsure? Leading with God-Breathed Truth (2 Timothy Bible Study)
Find the full episode here >>> LivingOnPurposeInChrist.com/blogThe ground feels like it’s moving, but your soul doesn’t have to. We open 2 Timothy and step into Paul’s final words from a cold Roman cell—tender, urgent, and laser-focused on courage formed by grace. Timothy’s weight mirrors our own: culture confusion, leadership fatigue, and the ache to stay faithful when the noise swells. Through Paul’s fatherly voice, we find a roadmap: fan into flame what God already placed within you, receive the Spirit’s power, love, and a sound mind, and anchor your life to Scripture that is truly God breathed.Across the letter, Paul sketches three unforgettable images that recalibrate how we live and lead. The soldier models focus without entanglement, refusing distractions that drain the mission. The athlete shows disciplined training when applause is absent, choosing steady formation over quick wins. The farmer teaches patient endurance, tending unseen roots long before fruit appears. These metaphors are not theory; they’re a practical rule of life for modern disciples who want resilient faith in an age of hurry and hype.We also press into the heart of biblical authority: all Scripture "is inspired by God," θεόπνευστος (theopneustos)—alive, warm, and life-giving. When trends shift and preferences tug, truth becomes an act of love as we handle it carefully, preach it in and out of season, and let it correct us before we correct anyone else. Paul’s closing charge—fight the good fight, finish the race, keep the faith—turns from a eulogy into a rallying cry. You don’t have to feel strong to be strong; grace is strength received, not performed. If this conversation steadied your heart, tap follow, share it with a friend who needs courage today, and leave a quick review so more listeners can find it. You’ll learn how to name feelings without shame, pray with specificity, and adopt a five-minute quiet time that actually sticks. 118 | Called to Lead, But Told to Be Silent? Discovering Your Voice in God’s Plan (A Study of 1 Timothy)
Find the full episode here >>> LivingOnPurposeInChrist.com/blogWhen life is packed with meetings, errands, and ministry, how do you keep your soul steady and your purpose clear? We open 1 Timothy and find a roadmap for busy believers: pray first, guard the gospel, grow in character, and lead from a quiet strength that comes from the Holy Spirit. Timothy’s story meets us where we live—messy calendars, real doubts, and a longing to be useful without burning out.We start with Ephesus, a church swamped by hot takes and harmful ideas, and Paul’s call to “fight the good fight” with courage and clarity. You’ll hear why prayer is the first move, not the last resort, and how the often-misread call to “be silent” is actually an invitation to hēsychia (ἡσυχία)—a settled, Spirit-led calm for both men and women who lead. We unpack what mature leadership looks like in real life: self-control, hospitality, gentleness, and a trustworthy reputation that shines in Zoom rooms, living rooms, and sanctuary aisles alike. Then we explore chapter four’s heartbeat: set an example, fan your gift into flame, and reject hyper-spiritual myths that dismiss God’s good creation. Paul reframes church as family—honor across generations, care for widows, fair accountability for leaders—and offers wise counsel on work, wealth, and the discipline of godliness, eusebeia (εὐσέβεια). The result is a simple, sturdy pattern of discipleship that turns ordinary days into meaningful mission. If you feel too ordinary or too busy, you’ll walk away convinced that your small acts of obedience matter more than you know.Ready to grow with a gentle, doable plan? 117 | When Scripture Feels Out of Reach: Can Greek Insights Help You Understand and Apply God’s Word?
Find the full episode here: LivingOnPurposeInChrist.com/blogWhat if a single word could change how you pray, plan, and move through your day? We open the pages of the New Testament with a magnifying glass, leaning into the original Greek to uncover meaning that English often flattens. From the layered loves of "ἀγάπη" (agape), "φιλέω" (phileo), and "ἔρως" (eros) to the empowering force behind "ἐνδυναμόω" (endonamoó), we trace how small shifts in understanding can reshape your devotional life from hurried to rooted.I share a simple, flexible framework designed for real schedules: choose one verse, explore one Greek keyword with a trusted tool, breathe in deeply, and jot a brief reflection. To help truth reach the heart, we pair study with sensory cues—think frankincense for focus or cedarwood for calm—so Scripture becomes easier to recall when the day turns noisy. This is not a checklist; it’s a gentle rhythm that builds peace, clarity, and confidence in God’s presence. We also talk practical setup: crafting a small sacred nook at home, committing to one deeper session per week, and giving yourself grace when life gets messy. Along the way, community matters. You’ll hear how to connect with a warm space for biblical encouragement, prayer support, and monthly resources that help you keep Christ at the center of your home, heart, and work. If you’ve felt spiritually dry or distracted, these tools will help you slow down, savor Scripture, and live from divine empowerment rather than sheer willpower. If this resonates, follow the show, share it with someone who needs encouragement, and leave a quick review so more listeners can find these practices. 111 | Faith, Aroma, Memory and Brain Health: Journaling Prompts for Busy Christians
Find the full episode here >>> LivingOnPuposeInChrist.com/blogWhat if your sense of smell could become a doorway to prayer, clarity, and a steadier mind? We explore the surprising intersection of fragrance, Scripture, and cognitive health, showing how a simple, scent-linked devotion can calm your nervous system, strengthen memory, and make prayer feel alive again. Drawing from recent research on olfactory enrichment in older adults—as well as the biblical theme of breath and Spirit—we map out a gentle practice that fits real life, not a fantasy schedule. We start with the science: smell signals route straight to the limbic system, which means a familiar aroma can quickly restore focus and recall. Then we translate that insight into a grace-filled routine. You’ll learn a morning breath prayer that pairs a chosen scent with a short verse, a one-minute midday reset to renew your mind, and a bedtime diffuser ritual inspired by studies showing meaningful memory improvement. Along the way, we keep the heart central: this is not about magic oils or perfect streaks; it’s about stewardship of body and brain as part of following Jesus with intention. You’ll hear stories of messy schedules, mismatched shoes, and the relief of starting small: one drop, one breath, one prayer. We outline habit tools like cue routine reward, journal prompts to notice tiny wins, and ways to hold your worth in grace while building consistency. By integrating scent with Scripture, you create a reliable cue that helps your soul arrive, even on hurried days. The result is a life that inhales peace and exhales worry, anchored in presence and purpose. If this resonates, subscribe, share this episode with a friend who needs calm and clarity, and leave a review to help others find the show. 109 | Holy Oils and Holy Faith: Finding Peace Amid Life Changes
Find the full episode here >>> LivingOnPurposeInChrist.com/blogChange can feel like standing on moving ground, but we don’t have to face it untethered. We share a simple, embodied way to stay anchored in Christ through Scripture, prayer, and the biblical practice of sacred oils—tools designed for wholeness that engage your senses, settle your mind, and open your heart to God’s steady presence. From the seminary mornings that ran on grace instead of perfection to the small practices that transform a rushed day into a sacred rhythm, this conversation offers a path from anxiety to alignment. We walk through the rich history and meaning behind myrrh, cinnamon, calamus, cassia, and olive oil, and we unpack the holy incense—onycha, galbanum, and frankincense—as a sensory liturgy that invites focus and calm. Along the way, we address the skepticism around essential oils and re-center them as humble aids, not replacements for faith. 108 | Parenting from Overflow, Not Empty (Ephesians Bible Study and Devotional)
Find the full episode here >>> LivingOnPurposeInChrist.com/blogWhen the house finally quiets but your mind won’t, Ephesians offers a steadier way to breathe. We open the letter like a lifeline for tired parents and busy hearts, starting with Paul’s startling claim that we already have every spiritual blessing in Christ. From that foundation—chosen, redeemed, and sealed—we explore how identity shifts everything: the tone of our words, the way we handle conflict, the patience we extend, and the hope we carry into messy days.We walk through the letter’s arc—from cosmic grace to kitchen-table practice. You’ll hear why maturity looks less like stockpiling knowledge and more like resembling Jesus in speech, forgiveness, and everyday choices. We trace unity that tears down walls, a love rooted wide and deep, and the invitation to “walk worthy” with humility, gentleness, and patience. Then we get concrete: putting off the old self, building the habit of kind speech, and imitating God as dearly loved children. We also unpack Paul’s vision for the home—mutual honor between spouses, discipline anchored in relationship, and parenting that disciples without provoking—and show how small rhythms can restore calm without adding pressure. Finally, we name the battle beneath our battles: not against flesh and blood. The armor of God becomes a daily dress code, and prayer shifts from last resort to first move. If your heart needs a peace reset, you’ll find practical steps and a hopeful lens to carry into the week. Read Ephesians 1 slowly, let “chosen” and “sealed” settle your soul, and join us as we practice living from what’s already true. 106 | Tired of Trying to Be Enough? Choose Freedom Not Performance (Galatians Bible Study)
Find the full episode here >>> LivingOnPurposeInChrist.com/blogWe open Galatians like a letter addressed to our busy, burdened hearts and trace its urgent call: drop the checklist, abandon the “other gospel” that's trying to replace the Good New of Jesus and choose freedom in Him. We walk through the heart of this letter with fresh eyes: Paul’s personal transformation from rule-keeping to surrender, his bold confrontation of spiritual image-management, and his reminder that the Holy Spirit arrives by faith, not by checking off everything on a "Getting into Heaven TO-DO List." Together, we explore adoption as the message of assurance—you are not an employee auditioning for God’s approval but a son or daughter who prays “Abba, Father.” From there, the fruit of the Spirit becomes a lived reality: kindness when tempers flare, peace when plans unravel, self-control that grows where grace has taken root. We also name the obstacles—comparison, guilt, the myth of “doing more”—and replace them with practices that are gentle and doable: short gospel readings, breath prayers and sensory cues to help silence the noise of the world.Freedom in Christ isn’t permission to drift; it’s power to become who you were meant to be—someone whose ordinary moments carry the aroma of Christ. If your devotional life feels more like striving than savoring, this conversation will help you reset with clarity, compassion, and practical tools you can use today. If it resonates, follow the show, share it with a friend who needs encouragement, and leave a review so more listeners can find this message of grace. Want hands-on help? 105 | Struggling with your Witness? Sensory Anchors and Spiritual Rhythms for Christian Women
Find the full episode here >>> LivingOnPurposeInChrist.com/blogWhat if serenity became your strongest witness? We open the Bible and our senses to explore how peace moves from a nice idea to a lived reality—one breath, one verse, one small practice at a time. Drawing from 2 Corinthians 2:14–15, Philippians 4:6–7, and Isaiah 26:3, we unpack how a steadfast heart grows when prayer, gratitude, and trust meet simple sensory anchors that redirect attention to Jesus in the middle of real life. You’ll hear a moving story of a “peace reset” where tension gave way to tears, ease, and focus—not because life got simpler, but because Christ’s presence stood guard over mind and heart. We talk through how frankincense can recall Christ’s kingship, lavender can cue rest like Psalm 23’s green pastures, and bright citrus can spark joy and gratitude. These tools aren’t magic; they’re gentle cues that help you return to God quickly when the day crowds in. Along the way, we offer short affirmations rooted in scripture, plus practical rhythms you can try in minutes: a five‑minute morning cue with your Bible, a midday breath-and-prayer pause, and a calm evening wind‑down that pairs God’s promises with slow exhalations. If you’re longing to carry Christ’s peace into your home, work, and relationships, this conversation offers a warm path forward—clear, doable, and grounded in the Word. 103 | Seeking God for a Breakthrough? Discover the Spiritual Key to Finding Clarity
Find the full episode here >>> PaulaBehrens.com/blogHave you ever felt like you were standing at a wall that just wouldn’t move? That prayer you've whispered countless times, the healing that feels just out of reach, the breakthrough that never quite arrives – these spiritual stalemates can leave us wondering if God even hears us anymore.Drawing from powerful biblical examples, we explore how you can take a unique spiritual posture that invites divine intervention. From Queen Esther's life-risking fast that saved an entire nation to Jehoshaphat's remarkable victory without lifting a sword, scripture reveals that our greatest breakthroughs often come when we empty ourselves to be filled with God's presence. Jesus himself modeled this practice, beginning his ministry with forty days of fasting and teaching his followers to make it part of their spiritual rhythm. The beauty of this spiritual posture isn't in manipulating God to do our bidding but in surrendering everything that distracts us from his voice. Whether you choose to abstain from food, social media, or other comforts, each hunger pang becomes a sacred reminder to turn your heart toward heaven. Your breakthrough might arrive as the circumstance you've been praying for – or it might come as something even more profound: fear transforming into trust, anxiety melting into peace, and self-reliance yielding to deeper dependence on the One who holds all things. If you're standing at what feels like an unmovable wall today, perhaps it's time to not just pray, but to fast and pray. What might change if you hunger for God above everything else? Join me in discovering how emptying ourselves creates space for God to fill us with exactly what we need.Send us Fan Mail><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><>YOUR NEXT STEPS:*Accept Jesus into your heart*"Partner with God In Your Business" (Free Event): Register HERE"Which Woman Of the Bible Are You?" 102 | How to Stand Firm in Your Faith When Culture Presses In: First Corinthians (Bible Study)
Find the full episode here >>> PaulaBehrens.com/blogLooking around at your church family and thinking "this is messy" might leave you feeling discouraged—but take heart. The believers in ancient Corinth faced remarkably similar challenges to those we encounter today, from church divisions to moral confusion to the struggle of living distinctively in a complex culture. The Book of 1 Corinthians provides a roadmap for navigating these challenges with Christ at the center. Paul's letter addresses practical issues that resonate with modern believers: How do we maintain unity when opinions differ? How do we exercise our freedom without harming others? How do we stand firm in biblical truth while showing Christ's love? At every turn, Paul directs the Corinthians back to the cross, emphasizing that true wisdom is found not in human eloquence but in Christ crucified. What makes this ancient letter so powerful is its gracious approach to growth. Paul begins by thanking God for the grace given to this imperfect community—celebrating their progress while addressing their problems. This reminds us that spiritual growth is a process. Whether you're struggling with consistency in your devotional life, wrestling with how to respond to cultural shifts, or seeking to bring Christ into your everyday decisions, Paul's wisdom offers both challenge and comfort. His words on Christian freedom, love as the greatest measure, and the hope of resurrection provide timeless guidance for living purposefully in Christ. 101 | Is it God’s Voice at 3 AM or the Enemy Using Your Dreams as a Playground?
Find the full episode here >>> PaulaBehrens.com/blogThose midnight wake-up calls can leave your heart racing and mind swirling with questions. When you jolt awake at 3AM, how do you know if God is speaking to you, if the enemy is attacking, or if your mind is simply processing the day?The predawn hours have a way of making the spiritual realm feel closer, more immediate. Throughout Scripture, God often chose these quiet moments to speak to His people through dreams and visions. Yet the enemy also exploits our vulnerability during these hours. The key isn't controlling when these moments come—it's learning to discern whose voice you're hearing.God's communication always carries His peace, even when challenging or convicting. As 1 Corinthians 14:33 reminds us, "God is not the author of confusion, but of peace." When God speaks, there's a calm undercurrent, a clarity that cuts through the noise. The enemy, however, traffics in fear, accusation, and disorientation. His goal isn't necessarily to make you believe disturbing dreams but to make you doubt your ability to hear God clearly. Many believers have noticed that the early morning hours—what the Bible calls "the fourth watch of the night" (3AM to 6AM)—often become moments of spiritual sensitivity. Perhaps these wake-ups aren't attacks but invitations to meet with Jesus when our hearts are finally quiet enough to listen. When you find yourself staring into the darkness, try turning that moment into worship. Whisper His name, read Scripture aloud, or simply invite His presence to fill the room.Remember, you are not powerless in these moments. The Spirit of God dwells within you, and "greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world" (1 John 4:4). Both night and day belong to God, and so do you.Are those 3AM wake-ups leaving you anxious instead of rested?
