Get Up and Get After It
Who has to motivate you? Your wife? Your boss? Your pastor on Sunday? A doctor who finally scares you into taking care of yourself? Solomon has a different idea. He says go look at the ant.In Proverbs 6, Solomon skips the great warriors and successful leaders and points to the smallest teacher imaginable. Nobody wakes an ant up in the morning. Nobody stands over it saying, "Come on, we've got work to do." It has no commander, no overseer, no ruler. It just gets up, sees the opportunity, and goes to work. That's a picture of self-discipline, and every man needs it. At some point, a man has to learn how to lead himself. The ant gathers in summer because it knows winter is coming. It does the work on the front side. You have seasons like that too: when you have your strength, your health, open doors, people around to help, time to build. Don't waste them. And notice Solomon's warning isn't about one giant failure. It's about "a little." A little sleep, a little slumber, one small delay added to another until years have passed. That's why poverty comes like a bandit. You don't see it coming. And it's not just money. You can become poor in your marriage, your health, your relationship with your kids, and your walk with God, simply by putting off the small things you knew you needed to do.Verse of the Day: Proverbs 6:6–11 Your Daily Man-Up Challenge Identify one area of your life where you've been saying, "I'll get to it." Then get to it today. A call, a workout, your Bible, a responsibility, a project you've been meaning to start. Take the first step, and don't wait until you feel motivated. Discipline does what needs to be done whether you feel like it or not. Man up. Get after it. Get it done.Tap HERE to send us a text!NEW TO THE MEN’S MORNING DEVOTIONAL? Just Handle It
Every man has made a decision he wishes he could take back. Said yes too fast. Spent money he shouldn't have. Gave his word and then thought, "I shouldn't have done that." The real question isn't whether you'll ever get yourself into something. It's what you do once you realize you have.Pastor Steve Alessi opens this week's study of Proverbs 6, where Solomon describes a man trapped by his own words. And notice what Solomon doesn't say. He doesn't say, "You messed up, and there's nothing you can do about it." He says get up and handle it. Go humble yourself. Allow no sleep to your eyes. Free yourself like a gazelle from the hunter. There are men carrying problems right now that could have been dealt with months or even years ago, but pride and procrastination keep whispering, "I'll deal with it later."One of the hardest things a man can do is admit "I was wrong." Pride wants to defend the decision, blame someone else, or pretend everything's fine. Wisdom says, "I made the decision, so I'll take responsibility for fixing it." A strong man isn't a man who never overcommits or makes a questionable choice. A strong man is the one who steps up and takes responsibility when he does. And he doesn't put it off. He does it today.Verse of the Day: Proverbs 6:1–5 Your Daily Man-Up ChallengeLook in the mirror and ask one question: What have I been putting off that I already know needs to be handled? Whatever comes to mind, take one action today toward making it right. Make the call. Have the tough conversation. Admit the mistake. Correct the commitment. Don't sleep on what you already know needs to be done. Man up and handle it.Tap HERE to send us a text!NEW TO THE MEN’S MORNING DEVOTIONAL? Nothing Is Hidden
"Nobody will know." Every man has told himself some version of that lie. And it only works for one reason: you've forgotten who's actually watching.Christian closes out Proverbs 5 with Solomon's final, sobering word to his son. Your ways are in full view of the Lord. Not some ways. Not just the public ones. Not just the ones you post. All of them. God's eyes reach into what no human eye can, which means your private life before God matters more than your public reputation before men. Character isn't what you do when others are watching. It's what you do when you're certain no one is.There's no compartment where God isn't watching, and that should sober any man living a double life. But for the man walking in the light, this same truth is a comfort, not a threat. If God sees everything, He also sees the faithfulness nobody noticed, the temptation you walked away from with no audience, the discipline you kept with no applause. Solomon isn't ending this chapter on fear. He's ending it on accountability, the kind that produces freedom. Freedom from the exhausting work of hiding. Freedom to be the same man in every room.Verse of the Day: Proverbs 5:21Your Daily Man-Up Challenge: Ask yourself honestly: is there anything in my life right now that only works because I think no one's watching? Bring it to the light today. Tell a brother. Confess it to God. Take the step to end it. You have, and always will have, an audience of One. Start living like it.Today, we also pause to remember September 11, 2001, and to thank the first responders who serve our communities every day.Tap HERE to send us a text!NEW TO THE MEN’S MORNING DEVOTIONAL? Rejoice In Her
Are you faithful to your wife, or do you actually delight in her? Because Solomon says there's a difference, and a lot of men have settled for the first while missing the second entirely.Christian reaches the turning point of Proverbs 5. After seventeen verses of warning, Solomon stops and blesses his son. May your fountain be blessed. May you rejoice. Not tolerate. Not endure. Not stay faithful through gritted teeth. Rejoice. Most men treat faithfulness like a fence, something that hems them in and limits them. Solomon treats it like a fountain, something meant to overflow with joy if you'd actually delight in what God gave you.Solomon isn't blessing a memory. He's blessing an ongoing choice. The woman you married isn't frozen on your wedding day, and neither are you. "The wife of your youth" is a call to keep rejoicing in the same covenant decade after decade, season after season. Biblical wisdom is aimed at a good life, not a shallow one, and there is no teaching in Proverbs about love that isn't aimed at deep, lasting joy inside the covenant God designed. A man who only defends his marriage but never delights in it is still missing what Solomon is after.Verse of the Day: Proverbs 5:18Your Daily Man-Up ChallengeToday, don't just avoid something for your marriage. Celebrate something in it. Do one thing that says "I rejoice in you," not just "I'm faithful to you." A note, a date, a real conversation, an honest compliment. Go out of your way. And if you're single, ask God to grow in you a heart that rejoices rather than merely endures, starting with the season where all you have is Him.Tap HERE to send us a text!NEW TO THE MEN’S MORNING DEVOTIONAL? Drink From Your Own Well
Why does a man end up thirsty at someone else's well? It's rarely because temptation was too strong. More often, it's because he stopped tending his own. After two days of what to run from, Christian now examines what Solomon tells his son to run to: his own cistern, his own well. In the ancient world, a well wasn't a luxury. It was a man's survival, his provision, his protection, his portion. And a well split with the whole town runs dry for everybody. That's the picture of marriage Solomon paints: Not restriction, but provision.God didn't give you a wife to limit you. He gave her to you as a well that will never run dry if you tend it and never wander from it. But a well left unattended doesn't stay clean on its own. It has to be drawn from, maintained, and valued. A man who neglects his own well and then wonders why he's thirsty somewhere else isn't a victim of temptation. He's reaping his own neglect. You don't drift into faithfulness. You draw from your own well on purpose, every single day.Verse of the Day: Proverbs 5:15–16Your Daily Man-Up ChallengeDo one deliberate thing today to draw from your own well instead of neglecting it. Married? Call your wife and tell her one specific thing you're grateful for about her. Single? The Sweetness That Kills
What if the most dangerous thing in your life right now doesn't look dangerous at all? What if it looks like relief?Christian dives deeper into Proverbs 5 and confronts a warning most men never see coming. Solomon doesn't describe sin as ugly. He describes it as sweet. Honey. Smooth oil. It shows up in exactly the season you're tired, underappreciated, or bored, saying exactly what you want to hear. That's the trap. Sin never announces itself with a warning label. It announces itself with honey. And every man who's ever wrecked his marriage, his ministry, or his name didn't sign up for the sword. He signed up for the sweetness and got the sword anyway.Solomon says "in the end," not "in the beginning." Sin's whole strategy depends on you never getting to the end. It needs you to decide at the honey stage. And this pattern goes far beyond sexual sin. It shows up in how you handle money, anger, ambition, and escape. Anything that offers relief now and asks you to ignore the ending later. Wisdom is learning to taste the ending before you take the bite. And for married men, your covenant isn't just a blessing. It's a guardrail God built before you ever needed one.Verse of the Day: Proverbs 5:3–4Your Daily Man-Up ChallengeThink of one thing in your life that feels sweet in the moment but you already know ends badly. Name it honestly today, out loud. Don't minimize it. Then take one real step away from it before the day is out. Call a brother. Delete it. Open your Word. Walk out of that room. Taste the ending before you take another bite.Tap HERE to send us a text!NEW TO THE MEN’S MORNING DEVOTIONAL? Guard Your Ears Before Your Eyes
Ever wonder why the temptation wins even when you swore it wouldn't? You had your mind made up. You knew what you believed. And then the moment came, and it didn't matter.Christian Calatayud opens Proverbs 5 and points to something most men never notice: Solomon doesn't start this chapter with a warning. He starts with an instruction. Pay attention. Listen well. Before he tells his son what to run from, he tells him what to run to. Because the fight against temptation isn't won in the moment of testing. It's won in what you've been feeding your attention for weeks before it.Willpower shows up too late. The compromise doesn’t start when you give in. It starts with what you let your eyes linger on, what you let your mind entertain, and what you quietly stop guarding. Discretion doesn't fall on you. Verse 2 says maintain it. That's active. That's a discipline built in the ordinary hours long before the test arrives.Verse of the Day: Proverbs 5:1–2Your Daily Man-Up Challenge Before today ends, identify one thing that's been feeding your attention that has no business shaping your heart. A show. A scroll. A conversation. A platform. A look you keep taking a second time. Guard the Gate
You wouldn't leave your front door wide open for anyone to walk in. So why do you leave your heart unguarded?Danny closes out the week with one of the most direct commands in all of Proverbs. You lock your home because you know what gets inside affects everyone living there — and this episode challenges men to bring that same vigilance to their hearts. What we watch, what we listen to, whom we let influence us, and which thoughts we let linger all shape the direction of our lives. Because the things that destroy us rarely arrive overnight. They start small, and they grow.If you don't guard your heart, eventually your heart will control your direction. A little resentment becomes bitterness, comparison turns into jealousy, and a thought we shouldn't entertain becomes a temptation we keep returning to. Jesus modeled the alternative. When Satan came to tempt Him, He didn't negotiate; He answered with the truth of God's Word. Not everything available to you deserves access to you. And guarding your heart isn't only about keeping bad things out; it's about protecting the good things God is building in: your faith, your peace, your integrity, your love for your family.Verse of the Day: Proverbs 4:23Your Daily Man-Up Challenge Take an honest look at one thing you've been allowing into your heart that shouldn't have access anymore. Medicine for the Soul
Every man knows what to do when his body hurts. But where do you go when the pain isn't physical? When we're sick, we take medicine. When we're injured, we treat it. But when we're discouraged, empty, angry, or carrying disappointment we haven't told anyone about, too often our answer is to push it down, stay busy, and keep moving. This episode is a reminder that just because you can keep moving doesn't mean you're healthy inside, and that real strength knows where to run when the soul needs healing.A strong man knows where to go when his soul needs healing. God's Word doesn't just give information: it brings life. The same Jesus who spoke grace over the woven caught in condemnation, calmed the storm with "Peace, be still," and called life out of the grave is still speaking today. Being strong doesn't mean pretending everything is okay. Sometimes strength looks like admitting, "I need God," and running to His Word instead of away from it.Verse of the Day: Proverbs 4:20–22Your Daily Man-Up ChallengeIdentify one area of your life that needs God's truth today. Walking Toward the Light
God rarely shows you the whole road. So what do you do when you can only see enough light for the next step?Danny continues our walk through Proverbs 4 with a word for every man who's ever felt the pressure to have it all figured out. We want the plan. We want to know what's next: how we'll provide, how we'll lead, how we'll get through this season. But Solomon compares the righteous life to the morning sun: it doesn't blaze all at once; it grows brighter little by little. This episode is an invitation to stop demanding the whole map and start trusting the One who's already lit the next step. You don't have to see the whole road, just keep walking toward the light. God works in us gradually — you learn, you stumble, you get back up, and you grow wiser, more patient, a better husband and father. And if it feels less like sunrise and more like sunset today, don't stop walking. The darkness doesn't mean God has left you or that your story is over. Night doesn't last forever. The morning is coming.Verse of the Day: Proverbs 4:18–19Your Daily Man-Up ChallengeTake a minute to thank God for one area where He's helped you grow over the past year. Keep Walking
When an angry crowd wanted Jesus dead, He didn't panic, beg, or change His message. He just kept walking. Could you?Danny Bourgos continues our journey through Proverbs with a look at what it means to stay on the path when everything is trying to knock you off it. Careers, money, relationships, social media, other people's opinions, your own desires — the pulls come from every direction. This episode points to the ultimate example of a man who never let circumstances decide His direction: Jesus, who knew who He was, who had sent Him, and where He was going, no matter what stood in the way.You can't control what stands in your way, but you can control whether you keep walking. Jesus stayed the course not because His life was easy, but because He knew where He was going. That's the kind of man we're called to be: one who doesn't change his values depending on who's in the room, doesn't walk away from God when life gets hard, and keeps his eyes fixed on the Father rather than the crowd.Verse of the Day: Proverbs 4:11–13Your Daily Man-Up Challenge Identify one thing that has been trying to knock you off your path, and bring it to God.Tap HERE to send us a text!NEW TO THE MEN’S MORNING DEVOTIONAL? Hold On to What Matters
Every day, a dozen voices fight to tell you who to be. So, whose voice are you actually holding on to?Social media, culture, coworkers, your own racing thoughts — they're all competing for space in your heart. But there's only one voice worth gripping with everything you've got. Danny Bourgos kicks off a new week of the Men's Morning Devotional with a challenge that cuts through the noise. This episode is about learning to take hold of God's Word before the pressure hits, so that when life tests what you believe, you've got something solid to stand on.What you hold on to shapes who you become. Faith isn't built in a single moment: it's built like strength in the gym, through daily repetition. And Scripture doesn't ask you only to know God's Word. It asks you to live it. The world doesn't need more men who know about God; your family, your church, and your workplace need men who walk with Him.Verse of the Day: Proverbs 4:4Your Daily Man-Up Challenge Choose one command from God's Word that you know you haven't been fully living out. A Man Who Sleeps Well
How a man sleeps tells you more about his heart than he'd ever admit. Some lie awake replaying conversations they wish they could take back. Others stare at the ceiling worrying about finances, family, work, or the future. We live in a world full of pressure — and most men are carrying burdens they were never meant to carry alone.Chris Muiña uses Proverbs 3 to point toward the source of a rest that doesn't depend on circumstances. The strongest pillow you'll ever lay your head on is a clear conscience before God. Sweet sleep isn't just the reward of a tiring day — it's the fruit of a heart that trusts God and a life lived in alignment with His wisdom. The world says security comes from a bigger savings account, a stronger retirement, or having everything under control. God says real security comes from walking with Him. A man who lives with integrity doesn't have to remember which lie he told. A husband who honors his wife has nothing to hide. God's wisdom gives a man confidence without arrogance and stability without perfect circumstances — because his hope rests on a faithful God, not a flawless life.Verse of the Day: Proverbs 3:21–24 Your Daily Man-Up Challenge Tonight, do something different. Before bed, spend five minutes with God and ask three questions: Is there anything I need to confess? Anyone I need to forgive? Any burden I've been carrying instead of trusting God with it? Build Your Life On God's Wisdom
As men, we spend our lives building: careers, businesses, homes, families, reputations. Every day we're laying bricks that become the legacy we leave behind. But a house can look beautiful from the outside and still have a cracked foundation. The same is true of a man's life.Today, Chris Muiña draws from Proverbs 3 to ask a question every builder needs to face: how often do we try to build without consulting the Master Builder? The same God who keeps the planets in orbit knows how to lead your family. The same God who established the foundations of the earth knows how to establish your life. Yet too many men climb impressive ladders only to discover they leaned against the wrong wall.Strength without wisdom eventually becomes exhaustion. God isn't looking for men who simply build bigger — He's looking for men who build wisely. And storms are coming: financial pressure, family challenges, health concerns, unexpected setbacks. The goal isn't to avoid the storm; it's to be standing when it passes. That only happens when a life is built on the solid rock of God's wisdom instead of our own emotions, instinct, and hustle.Verse of the Day: Proverbs 3:19–20Your Daily Man-Up ChallengeTake honest inventory of your foundation. Am I making my biggest decisions based on God's wisdom, or my own? Then choose one area — your marriage, parenting, finances, work, or personal habits — and invite God into it. Before your next significant decision, stop and pray: Lord, show me the wise way to build. One prayer of dependence can save you months, even years, of rebuilding.Tap HERE to send us a text!NEW TO THE MEN’S MORNING DEVOTIONAL? Chase Wisdom, Not Success
Every man is chasing something — success, money, promotions, a bigger house, the next achievement. None of it is wrong. But what if you spent decades mastering how to make a living, and never learned how to build a life?Host Chris Muiña dives deeper into Proverbs 3 to hold up the one pursuit Solomon calls more valuable than silver, gold, or anything else a man could desire. Money can buy comfort, but it can't buy character. Wealth can open doors, but it can't guarantee good decisions. Success can earn respect, but it can't produce peace. The thing that bridges every one of those gaps is the pursuit most men never prioritize: wisdom.Wise men aren't born, they're built — one obedient decision at a time. Wisdom isn't reserved for pastors, scholars, or older men; God freely gives it to any man who humbly seeks it. Every day you open His Word, every time you choose His way over your own, every moment you invite Him into your decisions, you're gaining something worth more than anything money can buy. Because real success isn't measured by what you accumulate, it's measured by the wisdom that shapes the man you're becoming.Verse of the Day: Proverbs 3:13–15 Your Daily Man-Up Challenge Before your next important decision — big or small — pause and ask not what's easiest, fastest, or most profitable, but what's wisest. Then spend at least ten minutes in God's Word before you reach for your phone or the TV, and ask Him for wisdom in one specific area where you need direction.Tap HERE to send us a text!NEW TO THE MEN’S MORNING DEVOTIONAL? Put God First, Not What's Left
Look at your calendar and your bank statement. If a stranger studied both, what would they conclude is most important in your life? For most men, the honest answer is uncomfortable — because we tend to give God whatever's left after everything else gets covered. In this episode, Chris Muiña tackles a principle that cuts straight to the heart of what a man truly trusts. Pulling from Proverbs 3, he reframes a passage most men assume is only about money and reveals what it's actually testing: whether you'll put God first, or just give Him the leftovers.Passing that test means confronting the "self-made man" myth head-on. Every paycheck, every promotion, every opportunity ultimately comes from the Lord — and honoring Him with your first fruits isn't about the amount, it's about the condition of your heart. Real men don't cling tightly to what God has given them. They hold it with an open hand and live with an open heart, trusting that when they do their part, He takes care of the rest. What a relief it is to live under that.Verse of the Day: Proverbs 3:9–10 Your Daily Man-Up ChallengeTake an honest look at your priorities and ask: Does the way I spend my money and my time show that God is first? Then take one intentional step today — start with the tithe, give to someone in need, thank God for His provision, or trade a financial worry for prayer and surrender. Choose to put Him first with your best, not with what's left over.Tap HERE to send us a text!NEW TO THE MEN’S MORNING DEVOTIONAL? Don't Just Hear It - Live it
You've heard the sermons. You've read the verses. You can probably quote scripture on demand. So why doesn't your life always look like the truth you already know?In this Man Up Moment, host Chris Muiña gets underneath one of the quiet traps that catches faithful men: the gap between knowing God's Word and living it. Drawing from Proverbs 3, he uncovers why God was never after a head full of Bible facts — He's after a heart that's been reshaped. And here's the uncomfortable part: the longer you've walked with God, the easier it becomes to lean on your own understanding instead of His.Because real strength isn't found in knowing more — it's found in obeying what you already know. Every small decision to choose integrity over shortcuts, patience over anger, prayer over panic, and forgiveness over bitterness is you storing God's Word in your heart, where it slowly shapes the man you're becoming. Your family doesn't need a perfect man. They need one whose heart is anchored in God's truth — because when your heart is right, your life follows.Verse of the Day: Proverbs 3:1–2Your Daily Man-Up ChallengeBefore your day ends, ask yourself one honest question: Is there one area of my life where I know what God says, but I haven't been living it? Don't overcomplicate it — pick one. Your attitude, your language, your marriage, your parenting, your work ethic, your integrity, or your time with God. Man Up and Remain
The principled man isn't defined by what he says no to. He's defined by what he gets to keep.Chris closes out his series on Proverbs chapter 2 with a promise instead of a warning: "For the upright will live in the land, and the blameless will remain in it." After a whole week building the portrait of the principled man, Solomon lands the chapter on a single powerful word — remain. The principled man doesn't just avoid the wrong road; he inherits the right one.Remain means to endure, to be left standing after everything else has been stripped away. It's the man whose marriage is still standing at the end of his life, still present with his grown kids, still trusted at work, still rooted in his faith when others have fallen off. And blameless doesn't mean perfect: it's the word used of Job, meaning whole, complete, undivided. His private life matched his public life. Here's the great irony: The shortcut man was chasing a full, flourishing life the whole time and never got it. The man who takes the long road ends up with the very thing the other man was after.Verse of the Day: Proverbs 2:21Your Daily Man-Up ChallengeWrite down your answer to this question: What does it look like for me to remain — in my marriage, my family, my faith, and my integrity? Five years from now, if I stay on the road I'm building today, what does it mean to remain? Let that picture pull you forward.Tap HERE to send us a text!NEW TO THE MEN’S MORNING DEVOTIONAL? Man Up Before It's Too Late
Some doors only swing one way. You tell yourself you'll make it up later — later, when the deal is closed, when the busy season ends, when the kids are older. But some windows close for good.Chris works through Proverbs 2:19 and one of the most sobering phrases in the chapter: "None who go to her return." Not most. Not few. None. The adulterous woman here is a symbol: she represents every path that promises pleasure and ease without the cost of doing things the right way. She's the embodiment of the shortcut. And Solomon's warning is stark: every shortcut has a point of no return, and the time to turn around is before you reach it.God can redeem anything, but some consequences we live with permanently, even after we're forgiven. The father who keeps telling himself he'll make it up to his kids eventually finds the window has closed and they're grown. The husband who erodes trust through small deceptions finds the foundation quietly crumbled. An oak tree takes decades to grow and a few hours to cut down. You don't get to choose the consequences of your choices — only the choices themselves.Verse of the Day: Proverbs 2:19Your Daily Man-Up ChallengeAsk yourself honestly — is there a path I'm on right now that I know is heading somewhere I don't want to end up? Name it. Then turn around today, before the point of no return. Don't wait for the weekend. Make the U-turn right here, right now.Tap HERE to send us a text!NEW TO THE MEN’S MORNING DEVOTIONAL? Man Up to The Long Road
The shortcut always looks faster. The workaround always looks smarter. And almost every time a man walks off the straight path, it doesn't feel like walking into sin — it feels like being clever. In today’s episode, Chris works through Proverbs 2:15 and the picture of the man whose paths are crooked and devious. In Hebrew, crooked means something twisted out of its original shape: a path that should be straight but got bent and rerouted. And devious means to turn aside. Here's the catch: Solomon says these men left the straight path. It was a choice. There are no shortcuts to the life God has for you. The crooked path feels faster until it isn't.The temptation toward the crooked path almost never shows up as wickedness. It shows up as a shortcut. Stretch the truth to close the deal faster. Avoid the hard conversation to dodge the conflict. Look the part without doing the work. But we've watched lives play out over and over, and the shortcut always costs more than the long road. Always. The man who cuts the corner isn't ahead of you — he's already lost.Verse of the Day: Proverbs 2:15Your Daily Man-Up ChallengeWhere are you tempted to take a shortcut right now? Be specific — marriage, work, spiritual life, health, or finances. Name the shortcut. Then name what the straight road actually looks like in that area, and commit to it. Man Up to The Source
If you take God out of the equation, where does right and wrong actually come from? Culture is pushing that question hard right now — and a lot of men don't have an answer. In today’s episode, Chris continues through Proverbs chapter 2, landing on verse 6: "For the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding." Wisdom doesn't originate in experience, education, or the school of hard knocks — though God uses all of those. It originates in Him. And that leads to a truth our culture is fighting hard against: you can't separate morality from God, because morality doesn't exist without Him.God isn't moral because He follows some standard above Him: God is the standard. Goodness isn't a rule He obeys; it's an expression of who He is. Asking whether God can be immoral is like asking whether water can be dry. The question is broken. He is the source. And a man untethered from that source has no compass and no fixed north — his standard just shifts with the culture around him.Verse of the Day: Proverbs 2:6Your Daily Man-Up ChallengeIdentify one area of your life where you've let culture, convenience, popular opinion, or how you were raised shape your moral decisions instead of going back to God as the source. Name it honestly. Then take it to Scripture — what does God actually say about that area? A principled man doesn't outsource his ethics. He goes to the source.Tap HERE to send us a text!NEW TO THE MEN’S MORNING DEVOTIONAL? Man Up To Principle
You can't stumble into wisdom. It won't find you by accident, and you definitely don't already have it just because you want it. So how do you actually get it?This week, Chris Alessi kicks off week seven of the Men's Morning Devotional as we move into Proverbs chapter 2. Working through the first five verses, Chris unpacks a principle that changes everything about how we chase after God: what you pursue determines what you discover. Solomon doesn't open the chapter with a promise — he opens with a condition. Four of them, actually, stacked one on top of another. Receive the words. Turn your ear. Call out for insight. Search like a treasure hunter. And only then comes the "then God will."This isn't prosperity gospel. It's a promise with a condition attached — if we pursue, we will find. Jesus said the same thing: Seek and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened. But too many of us are hoping wisdom just shows up while we sit still. God is waiting on us to move first.Verse of the Day: Proverbs 2:4–5Your Daily Man-Up ChallengeRead Proverbs 2:1–4 and write out the four "if you" conditions Solomon lays out. What does each one actually look like in your life right now? Then write verse 5 at the bottom of the page as the promise you're standing on — and put it somewhere you'll see it all week.Tap HERE to send us a text!NEW TO THE MEN’S MORNING DEVOTIONAL? Refusing the Drift
Are you finding yourself just coasting through life? If so, you're in more danger than you realize. Thing is, complacency never announces itself as danger. It just feels comfortable - until it's too late. Most men think the greatest threat to their spiritual lives is outright rebellion, but they're mistaken. In this episode, Steve Alessi names the two things that quietly destroy a man. The first is obvious: knowing what's right and choosing your own way anyway. The second is far more subtle. Listen today to find out how you can become a man who sleeps differently, leads differently, loves differently, and faces an uncertain future differently — because his confidence isn't in himself, but in the One who never changes.Verse of The Day: Proverbs 1:32-33 Your Daily Man-Up Challenge Ask one honest question: Where have I become complacent — my walk with God, my marriage, my health, my leadership, my parenting, my integrity? You Eat What You Plant
Are you dealing with a harvest that you didn't realize you planted? That one lie, that one drink, that one click....these seeds never stay seeds. They become fruit. And sooner or later, every man eats from the tree he's been planting. In this episode, Steve Alessi opens Proverbs to a sobering picture Solomon paints — of men who didn't drift away by accident, but who rejected knowledge, refused correction, and eventually ate the fruit of those decisions. But God's wisdom was never meant to restrict your life — it's meant to protect your future.Listen today to find out why a wise man doesn't wait until the harvest to change, and why you must make changes today while you're still planting.Verse of the Day: Proverbs 1:29-31Your Daily Man-Up Challenge: Identify one seed you're planting that you don't want to harvest five years from now — procrastination, anger, neglecting your health, too much screen time, a hidden habit no one knows about. Don't make excuses. Pull the weed while it's still small. Then plant one good seed today: read God's Word, pray with your family, encourage your wife, serve someone, apologize. Choose Your Crew Wisely
How does the enemy consistently get men to fall for temptation? Simple... he opens with an invitation, not immediate attack. And here's what most men get wrong: they think strength means seeing how much temptation they can handle. It doesn't. In this episode, Steve Alessi digs into just nine words from Solomon that carry a lifetime of wisdom. Temptation isn't a possibility for a man trying to live for God; it's a certainty. You will be enticed to compromise your integrity, cut corners, look where you shouldn't. Solomon's answer isn't "manage it" or "see how close you can get." It's simpler AND harder than that.Listen to today's episode to find out how strong men avoid the effects of temptation with a simple strategy that can protect you from lifetime of regret. Verse of the Day: Proverbs 1:10 Your Daily Man-Up ChallengeAsk yourself two honest questions: Who is influencing me? And who am I becoming because of that influence? If there's a friendship, a conversation, an account, or an environment constantly pulling you from God, have the courage to create distance. The Fear That Makes a Man Strong
What do YOU fear? Whether you want to admit it or not, every man fears something. Failure. Rejection. Looking weak. Losing control. Not making enough money. And here's the hard truth most men never face: whatever you fear the most will eventually become your master. So the real question isn't whether you're ruled by fear — it's what you've handed the crown to.In this episode, Steve Alessi tackles this meaning of fear that our culture has completely misunderstood. When Scripture says the fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, what does it really mean? And when men refuse correction, resist accountability, and reject coaching, what's the uncomfortable truth that Scripture points out about them? Listen today to discover why strong men are teachable, why weak men defend themselves, and why discipline isn't God's punishment.Verse of the Day: Proverbs 1:7Your Daily Man-Up Challenge Before every major decision today, pause and ask one question: Does God honor this? Then pick one area where you've been resisting correction — your marriage, finances, health, attitude, work ethic, or spiritual life — and go to your wife, a trusted friend, or a mentor and ask: "Is there one area where I need to grow as a man?" Why You Can't Drift Into Greatness
No man accidentally becomes a faithful husband, a godly father, or a leader of integrity — yet most guys quietly bet their lives on the lie that things will just "work themselves out." They won't. If your marriage, your finances, or your walk with God is running on autopilot, you're not coasting toward blessing — you're coasting toward the ditch. In this episode, Steve Alessi opens the book of Proverbs and confronts one of the most dangerous forms of passivity in a man's life. Wisdom keeps you out of the ditch that deliverance has to pull you out of — but only if you build on purpose. In this episode, you'll discover the progression Solomon lays out. Listen to today's episode to find out how you can avoid drifting into a dangerously uncertain future. The Way That Feels Right
There's a way that feels right to every man — an instinct that sits so deep it's practically in your bones, and it almost never feels wrong. That's exactly what makes it so dangerous. In today's episode, Christian explores Proverbs 14 and lays that danger side by side with its antidote — a key phrase in Proverbs that can keep you from falling into the trap that captures so many men like you. If you're carrying fear or doubt right now, this devotional reframes it entirely. Press play and let's dig into the Word that can help you avoid the pitfalls of your own making. Verse of the Day: Proverbs 14:12Your Daily Man-Up ChallengeName one area where "this feels right to me" has quietly replaced "this is what the Lord says" — in your decisions this year, this week, today. The Slow Build of a Wise Man
We live in a world that sells a shortcut for everything — the faster route, the overnight win - but is that the way you should live your life? If you've ever looked at someone climbing fast and quietly wondered whether you're the one doing it wrong, Proverbs 13 has a word for you that you need to hear today. In today's episode, Christian, our devo leader this week, unpacks what he calls the slow build of a wise man, and the challenge lands on who you are surrounding yourself with. Mouth and Hands
You can tell everything about a man from just two things. And every day, you're either passing the test - or failing. Today, our host Christian Calatayud digs into Proverbs 12 to find out exactly how to determine what kind of man you are. The challenge lands where most men don't want it to: does your speech this week help others or hurt them? Verse of the Day: Proverbs 12:25Your Daily Man-Up Challenge Ask yourself honestly — does my speech this week build or wound? The Ledger That God Sees
How do you act when you think no one’s paying attention? Every man has small rooms where he thinks compromising doesn't count: the number rounded in his favor, the deal shaded just slightly, the abundance that somehow made his fist tighter instead of more open. Christian Calatayud opens a new week in Proverbs 11, and asks two questions most men would rather not sit with, and challenges you to become the kind of man whose honesty and generosity doesn't change when decisions are on the line. When Holding Back Is Strength
Ever say something you wish you could take back? A comment fired off in anger, a point you had to win, the words that left your mouth a half-second before your brain caught up. There's a reason that men let their mouths get them in trouble. Our host this week, Daniel Burgos, wraps up the week in Proverbs with a hard look at the tongue, why the more we talk, the more we slip, and why learning to hold back is a mark of real maturity, not weakness. We'll explain why Proverbs 10 lands on something most men never think of as strength - and how to stop letting your verbal slip-ups ruin your day. If you've ever damaged a conversation with your spouse, a friend, or a brother because you spoke before you listened, this one hits close to home.Verse of the Day: Proverbs 10:19Your Daily Man-Up ChallengeTry to listen twice as much as you speak today. Wisdom Starts Here
What do you think of when you hear the phrase "The fear of the Lord"? Most men hear that phrase and picture a God who wants them shaking in their boots — so they either tune it out or quietly keep their distance. But that misread might be the exact thing standing between you and the wisdom you keep asking for. This week's host Daniel Burgos continues our study in Proverbs by focusing on the foundation of a wise life — what it actually means to respect God, and why seeing Him clearly is the thing that finally gets a man to stop trusting his own answers and start listening.Proverbs 9 calls the fear of the Lord the beginning of wisdom, which means every man trying to figure life out on his own instinct is starting from the wrong place and wondering why he keeps getting it wrong. If you've had those moments where you were sure you knew best and found out later you didn't, you'll want to hear this.Verse of the Day: Proverbs 9:10Your Daily Man-Up Challenge Take five quiet minutes today and ask God to reveal one area of your life where you've been relying on your own wisdom instead of His.Tap HERE to send us a text!NEW TO THE MEN’S MORNING DEVOTIONAL? Better Than Gold
Cold hard cash. Big bucks. Moolah. That's what men are trained to chase — the raise, the portfolio, the security that supposedly fixes everything. However, many men reach the top of that climb and still feel the burden they were sure money would lift. In today's Man Up Moment, Danny Burgos redefines what real wealth looks like, digging into why the wisdom that comes from God outvalues every earthly treasure, and why the men chasing possessions alone are quietly investing in the wrong things. Proverbs 8 names something worth more than rubies, more than gold, more than anything you can lock in a safe, and it's the one thing that actually delivers what wealth only promises. If you've ever felt like you're winning on paper but losing where it counts, this one's for you.Verse of the Day: Proverbs 8:11Your Daily Man-Up Challenge Before you make any decision today, stop and pray. Something Worth Protecting
Here’s a big mistake most men keep making - keeping God's Word in a box they only open on Sunday. The rest of the week, decisions get made on instinct, pressure, or whatever feels right in the moment, and then they wonder why they keep hitting the same walls. Daniel Burgos continues the journey through Proverbs with a challenge to stop treating God's Word like a rulebook and start guarding it like something worth protecting.Proverbs 7 points to a different way to live, but it hinges on a question most men never stop to answer honestly: how much do you actually value what God has said? Not in theory – in your calendar, your habits, the way you treat people when no one's watching. Because the men who fill their hearts with His truth aren't just more disciplined, they're the ones with the wisdom to face whatever's coming. Don’t miss this one!Verses of the Day: Proverbs 7:2–3 Your Daily Man-Up ChallengeWrite down your favorite Bible verse, on paper or saved to your phone, and keep it somewhere you'll see it all day. God’s Don’t Do List
Ever wish God would just hand you a clear list of what to stay away from? Daniel Burgos opens our 2nd week in Proverbs by walking through the short list God says He hates — not to shame you, but to protect you from pain you can't yet see coming. Most men spend years trying to fix their lives from the outside, chasing the better job, the bigger paycheck, the sharper image, while the real damage is quietly happening somewhere they never think to check. In Proverbs 6, God actually names the handful of attitudes and actions that break trust, wreck relationships, and slowly pull a man away from the people he loves most. The catch? A couple of them are probably sitting in your own heart right now, and you'd never call them a problem. If you want to be the kind of man who makes every room stronger instead of more divided, don't skip this episode.Verses of the DayProverbs 6:16–19 Your Daily Man-Up Challenge Ask God to search your heart. Nowhere to Hide
Who are you when nobody else is watching? In the final episode of our first week in Proverbs, Chris Muiña wraps up a journey through wisdom, pursuit, trust, and guarding the heart with the theme every man needs to hear: integrity. Proverbs 5 warns against temptation and the consequences of compromise, then delivers a sobering reminder — God sees every path you take, both public and private. That truth should stir a healthy fear, but also real reassurance: God is watching because God is with you. Integrity isn't perfection; it's consistency. The men who leave the greatest legacies aren't the ones who appear perfect — they're the ones who consistently choose faithfulness, even when nobody else knows.Verse of the Day "For your ways are in full view of the Lord, and he examines all your paths." — Proverbs 5:21 (NIV) Your Daily Man-Up ChallengeAsk God to reveal any area of compromise in your life, then take one practical step toward accountability today — call a trusted friend or talk to your spouse.Tap HERE to send us a text!NEW TO THE MEN’S MORNING DEVOTIONAL? Battle for the Heart
What controls your heart will eventually control your life.In day four of our journey through Proverbs, Chris Muiña unpacks a verse that the wisest man on earth prefaced with "above all else" — and when Solomon says above all else, it's time to pay attention. Everything flows from your heart: your thoughts, your attitude, your decisions, your actions. Many men focus on changing behavior while ignoring what's feeding that behavior, but God always starts at the source. The word "guard" is a military term, the same root as a watchman on a tower. So what are you watching? What voices are influencing you? What habits are shaping your thinking? The things you constantly allow in will eventually shape who you become. Verse of the DayAbove all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it. — Proverbs 4:23 (NIV)Your Daily Man-Up Challenge Take inventory of what's feeding your heart — the podcasts, music, shows, friendships, and voices you're allowing in — then remove any unhealthy influence and replace it with something that draws you closer to God.Tap HERE to send us a text!NEW TO THE MEN’S MORNING DEVOTIONAL? Surrender is Strength
What's the hardest thing for a man to do? For most men, it's surrendering control. We want a plan, answers, certainty — we're wired that way. On day three of our journey through Proverbs, Chris Muiña dives into one of Scripture's most beloved verses: "Trust in the Lord with all your heart." The strongest men aren't the ones who control everything; they're the ones who trust God with everything. Sometimes God asks us to trust Him before He explains Himself, and that's on purpose. When we lean on our own understanding, we're limited by what we can see. But when we trust God, we're trusting the Master Strategist who sees the entire picture. Real faith isn't knowing every step ahead; it's taking the next step because God said so.Verse of the Day"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight." — Proverbs 3:5-6 (NIV) Your Daily Man-Up ChallengeIdentify one area where you've been trying to stay in control, and pray specifically to surrender it to God today. Seek The Treasure
How hard do you work for a paycheck? Early mornings, late nights, overtime, sacrificed weekends — men pour real intensity into providing for their homes. But do you pursue God's wisdom with that same drive? In day two of our journey through Proverbs, Chris Muiña unpacks Solomon's challenge to seek wisdom like silver and search for it like hidden treasure. The men who grow the most spiritually aren't the most talented; they're the most intentional. Spiritual leadership at home doesn't start with having all the answers; it starts with pursuing God in His Word and in prayer. And the good news? Wisdom isn't something God hides from us. He's ready to give it to every man who seeks it. Where Wisdom Begins
What is shaping you as a man?Culture, success, failure, the opinions of others — every man is being formed by something. In this episode, Chris Muiña kicks off a brand-new series through the book of Proverbs, beginning with the story behind the book itself: how a 20-year-old Solomon asked God not for riches or long life, but for wisdom, and became the wisest man to ever live. True wisdom doesn't start with experience or intelligence; it starts with the fear of the Lord. Pride says, "I've got this." Wisdom says, "Lord, teach me."Verse of the Day "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction." — Proverbs 1:7 (NIV)Your Daily Man-Up ChallengeIdentify where pride has kept you from learning, and take five minutes to ask God for wisdom in one specific area of your life.Tap HERE to send us a text!NEW TO THE MEN’S MORNING DEVOTIONAL? Rest…In Peace
How easy is it for you to rest? Most men will lie down, but the mind keeps running, rehearsing tomorrow, replaying today. In this final episode of week two, Chris Alessi closes out the arenas of a man's life—the morning, the workplace, the home, the inner life—with something that might seem countercultural, even soft. It's not. Looking at Psalm 4:8, Chris unpacks what it means to be safe in God alone—not when your bank account hits a certain number, not when everything's going your way, not because of your exit strategies or your training. David wrote from circumstances that were anything but safe, yet because he knew his safety came from God, he was the only one left standing. A man who can't rest hasn't fully surrendered control. One of the most spiritual things you can do is simply go to sleep, trusting God to take care of things while you're not working. Verse of the DayPsalm 4:8 (NIV) "In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, Lord, make me dwell in safety."Your Daily Man-Up ChallengeBefore you go to sleep tonight, pull this verse back out. Delight in Your Day
When was the last time you truly enjoyed something? You can be disciplined in the morning, at work, and at home—and still be running on empty inside. In this episode, Chris Alessi goes inward with something near and dear to his heart. What defines a man isn't what he has or what he's accomplished; it’s what he delights in. Most of us think, "If I had more blessings, then I could delight more." But Scripture flips it: God calls the man blessed who delights in the law of the Lord—His way. So delight in the drive. Stop living twenty or thirty minutes ahead of where you actually are. Never ask for less time, because time is the one resource everybody has but no one can get more of. Bring It Home
Where's the hardest place for you to man up? For most men, it's not the office—it's inside their own home, with their wife, their kids, the people who know the real them. In this episode, Chris Alessi brings the man-up challenge home. Drawing from Psalm 101:2, where David sets his own standard of conduct—not just as a king, but as a dad and a husband. Chris talks about walking with integrity of heart within your house. Work and hobbies are rubber balls; drop them, and they bounce back. But family? Those are glass balls—drop one, and it tends to break. Your family doesn't need you to be flawless, but they do need you to be there.Verse of the DayPsalm 101:2 (NIV) — "I will ponder the way that is blameless. Oh, when will you come to me? I will walk with integrity of heart within my house."Tap HERE to send us a text!NEW TO THE MEN’S MORNING DEVOTIONAL? Work as Worship
Does your faith clock out when you clock in? For a lot of men, Sunday is for God, and Monday through Saturday is just survival—you do your job, come home depleted, and work stops meaning anything beyond the paycheck. In this episode, Chris Alessi takes the Man-Up challenge into the place most men spend the majority of their time: work. Unpacking Colossians 3:23, Chris shows how Paul blows the divide between faith and work wide open: whatever you do, laying tile, running a sales meeting, driving a delivery truck, you’re working for Christ, not just a human master. That reframe changes your posture: less dependent on recognition, less derailed by difficult coworkers, less likely to cut corners when nobody's watching, because Somebody is always watching, and He's keeping the real record. Verse of the DayColossians 3:23-24 (NIV) — "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving."Tap HERE to send us a text!NEW TO THE MEN’S MORNING DEVOTIONAL? Win The Morning
Who gets your first words of the day? For most men, it's email, the news, or social media—and by then, you're already reactive, living on someone else's agenda. In this episode, Chris Alessi joins the Men's Morning Devotional for the first time to map out the Man-Up challenge to the actual landscape of your life: your morning, your work, your home, your inner life, and your security in God. It starts here: the man who wins the morning wins the day. Looking at the example of David—a king with wars to fight, enemies to manage, and a family to lead—Chris unpacks what a disciplined man's morning actually looks like: bringing your voice to God first, then waiting expectantly like a watchman scanning the horizon. Verse of the Day: Psalm 5:3 — "In the morning, Lord, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait expectantly."Tap HERE to send us a text!NEW TO THE MEN’S MORNING DEVOTIONAL? What Will You Leave Behind?
Every man leaves a legacy. The question is whether you'll choose it or default into one. Legacy isn't what you leave behind after you die, it's what you build while you're alive that outlives you.And the people closest to you are watching right now, learning what manhood looks like from you.In today's devotional, we wrap up Week One by tying it all together — identity, responsibility, courage, and brotherhood — and challenge you to live with intentionality, so the generation coming after you can walk in the blessing of your faithfulness.Verse of the day: "We will not hide them from their descendants; we will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord, his power, and the wonders he has done." Iron Sharpens Iron
You can't become the man you're called to be alone. No man ever has. Yet men today are lonelier than ever, and that isolation is quietly costing them their mental health, their marriages, and their faith. In today's devotional, we look at what it means for iron to sharpen iron and challenge you to stop settling for surface-level friendships, and start pursuing the kind of brotherhood where real truth is spoken.Verse of the day: "As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another." Face Your Fears
Every man has fears. The man who says he doesn't is either lying or not trying anything worth doing. The real question isn't whether you feel fear, it's whether you let fear lead.In today's devotional, we look at God's charge to Joshua on the eve of battle and challenge you to stop numbing your fears through distraction and isolation, and start holding fast to God in spite of them.Verse of the day: "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go." Joshua 1:9Tap HERE to send us a text!NEW TO THE MEN’S MORNING DEVOTIONAL?
