Day 3 - The Machucas - Mental Health Awareness Month
Day 3 - Desiree continues her discussion with the Machuca family. In today's episode, the family dives deep into the past where the girls share with their dad how it felt growing up in the home when they were younger. Francisco has promised to allow the girls to express themselves freely without fear and without him losing his temper or showing anger, as they mentioned happened when they were younger. This fear shut them down and made them fearful to speak out. Well, today, Desiree has agreed with the family to take this one step at a time. Day 2 - The Machucas - Mental Health Awareness Month
On Day 2 the Machucha sisters talk about balancing school, home life and social settings. Maria, specifically, talks about one of your friends and how their personal life effects their relationship. Part TWO - The Johnsons - Mental Health Awareness Month
For the month of May, Mental Health Awareness Month, our host, Desiree Duar invites four families from various cultural backgrounds, one each week, as she discusses their struggles and triumphs with mental health issues in the family and in their communities. The program is light-hearted to allow their children to appear as guests, as well. Their input is just as important as the adult prospective. Children's point of view is at the heart of the family unit and many times the difficulties effect them ever more than the adults. So, Desiree wanted to hear from each member of the families on her show. It's un-formal, open and free expressions to allow our guests to feel comfortable. Plus, Desiree, herself can relate to many of the discussed topics during this month. This podcast is here to serve. Please feel free to leave your comments, suggestions and questions. All emails will be read. We will do our best to reply by the end of the month, if not sooner. Your responses send back via email, are greatly appreciated. Please feel free to support our channel and thank you for listening. God bless you and God Bless AMERICA. Thank you.
