    359. How to Stop Overthinking and Start Taking Action (Even When You Don’t Feel Ready)

Hi Mamas,  Have you ever had something you REALLY wanted to do…but you thought about it so much that you eventually talked yourself right out of doing it?  You researched. You planned. You worried about what could go wrong and what other people might think. You told yourself you’d start when you had more time, knew more, felt more confident, or finally had everything figured out.  And then…you didn’t start.  Mama, this episode is for you. And if I’m being real, it’s for me too.  Right now, I’m in a season of dreaming BIG for Mom Wife Career Life. I’m building courses and resources, coaching, growing the podcast, learning more about marketing, and pushing myself WAY outside of my comfort zone by showing up more on video and social media.  As an introvert and recovering perfectionist, that doesn’t exactly come naturally to me. 😂  But I’m realizing that there comes a point when we have to stop thinking about the thing…and actually DO the thing.  In this episode, we’re talking about the difference between preparing and hiding, why consuming more information can sometimes become another form of procrastination, and why you don’t have to feel confident before you begin.  Because confidence usually comes AFTER you start.  Your first workout doesn’t need to be perfect. Your first budget doesn’t need to be perfect. Your first Reel, podcast, business idea, boundary, career move, or attempt at something new doesn’t need to be perfect.  You learn by doing.  You build confidence by doing.  And sometimes 80% and DONE will take you much further than 100% perfect sitting unfinished on your computer.  I’m also sharing what manifesting looks like for me right now—not simply wishing for something and hoping it magically happens, but getting clear about what I want, believing it’s possible, and then asking myself:  What do I need to DO to move toward it?  Because manifesting the life you want isn’t just about believing it’s possible. It’s about being willing to participate in creating it.  In this episode, we talk about:  How overthinking can disguise itself as “preparing”  Why you don’t have to feel ready before you start  The connection between action and confidence  How perfectionism keeps us stuck  Why learning and getting help are valuable—but eventually you have to DO something with what you learn  Taking action when you’re scared or uncomfortable  Why one small next step is enough  The role action plays in manifesting your goals  What I’m personally doing to push myself outside my comfort zone and grow Mom Wife Career Life  Your Next Step  Think about the thing you keep saying you’ll do “when.”  When work slows down.  When the kids are older.  When you have more money.  When you lose the weight.  When you know more.  When you’re more confident.  When you finally feel ready.  What if you don’t need to wait for “when”?  You don’t need to figure out the next twenty steps today.  Just take one.  Send the email. Make the appointment. Apply for the job. Take the walk. Sign up for the class. Post the video. Start the budget. Buy the domain. Have the conversation. Ask for help.  Whatever your thing is… take one step.  ✨ Goal Manifesting Planner  If there’s something you want but you’ve been stuck overthinking it, grab my Goal Manifesting Planner.  Use it to get clear about what you want, visualize where you’re going, and… most importantly… break your big goals down into action you can actually take.  Goal Manifesting Planner … You don’t have to have it all figured out. Working Mom Mindset: Maximizers Get Things Done: Stop Overthinking and Just Move

Hi Mamas,  Have you ever told yourself you’re “just doing a little more research” when really… you’re overthinking the heck out of something? 🙋‍♀️  In today’s Monday Mindset episode, I’m sharing a quote from my coach, Michelle Cunningham, that stopped me in my tracks:  “Maximizers get things done. We don’t overthink it, we just move!”  As a recovering perfectionist, I needed this reminder… and maybe you do too.  Because perfectionism has a sneaky way of disguising itself as productivity. We research. We plan. We tweak. We make another list. We tell ourselves we’ll start when we have more time, more confidence, more information or a better plan.  But sometimes we’re not actually moving forward. We’re just doing a whole lot of thinking about moving forward.  In this quick Monday Mindset episode, we’re talking about why you don’t need to have steps two through ten figured out before taking step one.  I’m also sharing how starting Mom Wife Career Life taught me this lesson firsthand. I didn’t know exactly where the podcast would go when I started. I didn’t have hundreds of episodes planned or every piece of my brand figured out.  I simply knew I had something I wanted to say.  So I started.  And then I learned, adjusted and figured things out along the way.  Because sometimes confidence doesn’t come before you take action. Confidence is built because you take action.  We’ll also talk about why getting things done doesn’t always mean doing more. Your next move might actually be saying no, delegating something, setting a boundary or protecting your time.  Because the goal isn’t to become the mom who can do everything.  The goal is to become the woman who knows what deserves her time.  Your Monday Mindset Challenge  Think about ONE thing you’ve been overthinking.  Maybe it’s applying for a new job, starting a business, beginning a workout routine, posting the video, having a difficult conversation, setting a boundary, making an appointment or finally starting that idea you’ve been thinking about forever.  Ask yourself:  What is the smallest move I can make today?  You don’t need the whole plan.  You just need the next move.  Less overthinking. Less waiting for perfect. Less convincing yourself that you need to have everything figured out.  Just move.  One decision. One action. One step at a time.  👉 And I want to hear what you’re moving forward with this week! 357. Your Kids Grow Up Fast: 5 Time Management Lessons Every Working Mom Needs To Hear

Hi Mamas, Everyone tells you when your kids are little, “It goes so fast.” And you know it does. But I don't think you fully understand HOW fast until you reach one of those milestones that makes you stop and wonder where all those years went. I recently dropped my oldest daughter off at college, and I'm going to be completely honest with you... nothing prepared me for driving away without her. We spent months preparing for college. We toured schools, filled out applications, made decisions and bought what felt like half of Target to furnish one tiny dorm room. 😂 But you can't really prepare yourself for the moment when you hug your child goodbye, get into your car and realize that a chapter of motherhood has ended. And it has made me think A LOT about time. When I look back over the last 18 years, I don't see a perfect mom. I worked full time. I built a career. I had stressful seasons. I rushed. I lost my patience. I got distracted. I made plenty of mistakes. But I can honestly say this: I was there for the things that mattered to me. And THAT is why I talk so much about time management. It's not about figuring out how to squeeze even more into your already packed day. Most working moms are already doing WAY too much. It's about getting really clear on what matters to you and making sure the way you're spending your time actually reflects it. In today's episode, I'm sharing the very real emotions of dropping my first baby off at college, what this new season of motherhood is teaching me, and five lessons I want every working mom to hear BEFORE another season passes by. In this episode, we talk about: ✨ Why better time management isn't always about getting more done ✨ How to decide what matters most in THIS season of your life ✨ Why you can't keep waiting for life to “slow down” ✨ How to create space before busy or emotional seasons arrive ✨ One question to ask your future self when deciding what deserves your time ✨ Why the ordinary moments with your kids often become the ones you miss the most ✨ How to be where your feet are and actually experience the life happening around you ✨ Why doing LESS can sometimes be the best time management decision you make One of the biggest questions I want you to take away from this episode is: “When this season of my life is over, what will I wish I had made more time for?” Really think about your answer. Because whatever it is, that's probably something that deserves more space in your life right now. Not someday. Now. And mama, this isn't about guilt. You don't need to attend every event, make every dinner from scratch, play with your kids every second you're home or give up the goals and dreams you have for yourself. You don't have to do ALL the things. You just need to know which things are YOUR things. 👉 FREE RESOURCE: Boundaries Made Simple One of the ways we make room for what matters is by protecting our time. If you struggle with saying no, protecting your personal time, shutting work off or setting boundaries without feeling guilty, grab my FREE Boundaries Made Simple Guide for Working Moms. It will help you start setting realistic boundaries at work, at home and with yourself so you can create more room for the people, priorities and goals that matter most to you. 356. Working Mom Mindset: You Can’t Stop Time: How Working Moms Can Be More Intentional With Their Time

Hi Mamas, How many times do you get to the end of the day and wonder, Where did the day go? You were busy ALL day. You answered emails, sat through meetings, drove kids where they needed to go, figured out dinner, took care of the house, remembered the 47 things everyone else forgot…and probably moved the same pile of laundry more than once. But did you make time for anything that really mattered to YOU? This week’s Monday Mindset is: You can’t stop time from passing, but you can decide how you spend it. As working moms, we don’t have complete control over our time. We have jobs, kids, appointments, activities, responsibilities and people who apparently expect to eat every single day. 😂 But we have more choices than we sometimes realize. And being intentional with your time isn’t about squeezing MORE into your already packed schedule. It’s about getting clear on what deserves your time in the first place. Today, we’re talking about ✨ The difference between being busy and intentional ✨ Why the most urgent thing isn’t always the most important thing ✨How the small choices we make every day ultimately determine where our time goes Because you can have an incredibly productive day and still get to the end of it feeling like you didn’t have time for what mattered most. 💛 This Week's Challenge Every morning this week, ask yourself: “What is ONE thing I want to make time for today?” Maybe it’s taking a walk. Sitting down to actually eat lunch. Putting your phone away when your kids get home. Talking with your husband. Calling a friend. Going to bed earlier. Spending time on a goal you keep putting off. It doesn’t have to be big. Choose one thing that matters to you and intentionally make space for it. At the end of the week, look back at the seven things you chose. Those little moments matter. Time is going to pass either way. Let’s make sure we’re being intentional about how we spend it. 355. Why Does Mom Have to Know Everything? How to Get the Family Mental Load Out of Your Head

Hi Mamas,  Have you ever had someone in your family ask, “What time is my appointment?” or “What are we doing for dinner?” and wondered why you’re the only person who knows the answer?  As working moms, we spend so much time keeping track of the details that make our families run. And sometimes, even when someone else is helping, we’re still the person responsible for remembering, reminding, and coordinating everything.  In this episode, I’m sharing how to create a simple family information hub so everyone knows where to find the information they need… and you don’t have to be the family’s personal Google.  We’ll talk about how to make family organization a shared responsibility, why delegating a task isn’t the same as handing over ownership, and how a few simple systems can help you get some of that mental space back.  In this episode, we’ll talk about:  Create one place for family information: Choose a shared calendar, notes app, or simple system that your family will actually use.  Make it a shared system: Get your spouse and kids involved in adding information instead of being the only person managing it.  Give responsibilities an owner: Learn the difference between asking someone to help and having them take ownership of a task.  Have a simple weekly check-in: Spend a few minutes looking at the week ahead so you can plan for busy nights, appointments, and activities.  Stop being the answer to every question: Teach your family to use the system and take more responsibility for their own schedules and needs.  You don’t need a perfectly organized home or an elaborate family command center. You just need a place for information to live, a system everyone can access, and a willingness to stop carrying every detail yourself.  Because creating more balance isn’t always about finding more time. Sometimes it’s about making sure everything doesn’t have to depend on you.  👉 Come share how this week’s episodes helped you in  our free Facebook community Work-Life Balance For Working Moms and help inspire other moms just like you!  ⭐ If this episode gave you a little boost, please take a moment to leave a 5-star review on Apple Podcasts or Spotify… your reviews help more amazing moms find the show! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐  📌 Grab Your Freebies!  🔥 Boundaries Made Simple… guilt-free scripts, mindset shifts, and a “guilt-detox” checklist  💖 Goal Manifesting Planner … map your dreams with bite-size prompts  🥗 Stress Free Weeknight Dinners Guide… reclaim your evenings (and your sanity)  📱 Tech Time-Out for Moms Guide… ditch the scroll and win back precious minutes  🧹 Spring Cleaning Checklist… because clutter steals time, too  🎅Christmas Planning Guide… yes, early prep counts as self-care  💻ChatGPT Prompts Made Simple for Moms.. simply cut and paste  Want to connect with other amazing moms?  Join us in our Facebook group, Work-Life Balance For Working Moms, where we share tips, support, and inspiration every day!  ⏰ Ready for 1:1 support? ⏰  If you’re looking to get control of your schedule and make time for amazing family memories, book a FREE discovery call with me today!   Love & Light,   Kerri  Let's keep the conversation going. 354. Working Mom Mindset: Your Time Isn't Just Spent on What you Do, It's Spent on What You Are Trying To Remember

Hi Mamas,  Have you ever gotten to the end of the day and thought, I don’t even know what I did today, but I am exhausted?  You might have checked things off your to-do list, answered emails, taken care of the kids, and gotten dinner on the table. But there was also a whole other list running through your head all day long.  The appointment you need to schedule. The school form you can’t forget. The work deadline coming up. The birthday gift you need to order. And the fact that you’re almost out of milk.  In this Monday Mindset episode, I’m talking about the mental load of motherhood and why our time isn’t just spent on what we physically do—it’s also spent on everything we have to remember.  Our mindset shift this week is:  “Your time isn’t just spent on what you do—it’s spent on what you have to remember.”  I’ll share why even a productive day can leave us feeling mentally drained, how trying to remember everything takes up valuable space, and why creating more balance sometimes starts with getting things out of our heads instead of trying to fit more into our schedules.  In this episode, we’ll talk about:  Why the invisible work of remembering can be just as exhausting as completing the tasks themselves.  How working moms carry information between work, home, kids, appointments, and everyday responsibilities.  Why a beautifully organized calendar doesn’t always mean your mind feels organized.  How to stop treating every thought that pops into your head like it needs immediate attention.  Why trusted systems and shared responsibilities can help reduce the mental load.  How to create more space to be present with your family and enjoy the time you already have.  💛 This Week's Challenge  Take five or ten minutes to do a mental unload. Write down everything you’re currently trying to remember—work things, home things, appointments, errands, conversations, and all the little details taking up space in your head.  Then ask yourself:  What can I put into a system so I don’t have to keep remembering it?  What can someone else take ownership of?  And what doesn’t actually need my attention right now?  You don’t have to solve everything on the list. The goal is simply to stop carrying all of it around with you.  Because your brain deserves a break from being the family calendar, the work project tracker, the grocery list, and the reminder app all at the same time.  👉 Come share what mindset shift helped you this week in  our free Facebook community Work-Life Balance For Working Moms and help inspire other moms just like you! 353. Why You Can't Parent Every Kid The Same & How To Not Feel Guilty About It

Hi Mamas,  If you have more than one child, you already know—you can raise them in the same house, with the same parents, and somehow end up with completely different human beings.  What works with one of your kids may completely backfire with another. One may need more structure and boundaries, while another needs you to back off and give them more independence. One may want comfort and reassurance when they’re upset, while another needs space.  And yet, as moms, we can put so much pressure on ourselves to make everything “fair.”  But fair doesn’t always mean equal.  In this episode, I’m talking about why loving your kids equally doesn’t mean parenting them exactly the same. I share how I’ve learned to pay attention to the child in front of me, adjust the way I parent based on what each of my kids needs, and let go of some of the guilt that can come with treating our kids differently.  We’ll talk about:  The difference between fair and equal when parenting multiple children  How to recognize what each of your kids actually needs from you  Why different personalities may require different parenting approaches  How to adjust your parenting as your kids grow and change  What to do when siblings notice they’re being treated differently  Why different doesn’t mean favorite  How to avoid comparing or labeling your kids  Simple ways to make each of your children feel seen, heard and valued  Because our job isn’t to parent every one of our kids exactly the same.  It’s to get to know them, meet them where they are, and give them what they need from us in the season they’re in.  Same love. Different delivery.  And sometimes loving our children equally means showing up for them differently.  👉 Come share what mindset shift helped you this week in  our free Facebook community Work-Life Balance For Working Moms and help inspire other moms just like you! 352. Working Mom Mindset: Sometimes Loving Your Children Equally Means Showing Up for Them Differently

Hi Mamas,  Do you ever feel guilty because you parent one of your kids differently than another?  Maybe one child needs more structure while another thrives with independence. One needs reassurance and connection, while another needs you to step back and give them space.  And then comes the mom guilt…  Am I being fair?  Today we’re talking about an important reminder for moms raising multiple children:  “Sometimes loving your children equally means showing up for them differently.”  Because equal love doesn’t always mean equal parenting.  Our kids are individuals. They have different personalities, challenges, strengths, triggers and emotional needs…and part of intentional parenting is learning who each child is and what they need from us in this season of their life.  In this episode, we’re talking about  ✨ Letting go of the pressure to parent every child exactly the same   ✨Recognizing the difference between fair and equal   ✨Releasing the mom guilt that can creep in when one child needs more of you than another.  We’ll also talk about why your parenting approach has to evolve as your kids grow. What worked when they were eight may not work when they’re thirteen, and what one child needs from you may look completely different from what their sibling needs.  💛Your Monday Mindset Challenge:  Think about one situation where you’ve been feeling guilty because you’re handling things differently between your children.  Instead of asking:  “Am I being fair?”  Ask yourself:  “What does this child need from me right now?”  Maybe it’s structure. Maybe it’s reassurance. Maybe it’s a boundary. Maybe it’s independence. Or maybe they simply need their mom to sit beside them and listen.  You don’t have to parent your children identically to love them equally.  Sometimes loving them equally means showing up for them differently.  🎧 And come back tomorrow! We’re taking this conversation even deeper and talking about why you can’t parent every child the same, how to recognize what each child needs, how to navigate those inevitable “That’s not fair!” moments, and how to make sure each of your kids feels seen, heard and loved.  👉 Come share what mindset shift helped you this week in  our free Facebook community Work-Life Balance For Working Moms and help inspire other moms just like you! Hi Mamas,  Have you been hearing everyone talk about ChatGPT but aren't quite sure how to use it?  Or maybe you've opened it a few times, stared at the screen, and thought...  "What am I even supposed to ask?"  If that's you, this episode is for you.  Today I'm sharing some of my favorite ways I use ChatGPT almost every single day to save time, reduce stress, and lighten the mental load that so many working moms carry.  From writing difficult emails and organizing my never-ending to-do list to planning vacations and helping me navigate unexpected situations (like Michael's sprained ankle while we were preparing for our trip to Spain!), ChatGPT has become one of the most valuable tools in my daily life.  And no... it's not about letting AI think for you.  It's about using it as your personal assistant to help you think faster, communicate better, and free up more time for the people and moments that matter most.  In this episode, I share:  How I use ChatGPT as my personal brainstorming partner   My favorite way to write work emails, school emails, and difficult conversations   How ChatGPT helps reduce decision fatigue   Ways to simplify parenting with personalized ideas and solutions   How I used ChatGPT to prepare for traveling internationally after my son's severe ankle sprain   How to organize your entire week when your brain feels completely overloaded   Why asking better questions leads to dramatically better results   If you've been curious about AI but didn't know where to start, I hope this episode gives you the confidence to make ChatGPT one of the most helpful tools in your busy mom toolbox.  ⭐ If you enjoyed this episode, please take a moment to leave a 5-star review on Apple Podcasts or Spotify… your reviews help more amazing moms find the show! 350. Working Mom Mindset: Every Task You Simplify Creates Space For Something

Hi Mamas, ,  What if the goal isn't to get better at doing everything... but to make some of it easier?  As busy working moms, we become incredibly capable. We manage careers, kids, calendars, meals, appointments, school activities, relationships, homes—and about a million tiny details no one else seems to realize we're keeping track of.  And somewhere along the way, we can start believing that because we're capable of doing it all, we should do it all.  But this week's Monday Mindset is your reminder:  “Every task you simplify creates space for something that matters more.”  Because simplifying your life isn't just about saving time. It's about deciding what you want to do with the time you get back.  Maybe simplifying dinner gives you more time to sit with your family.  Maybe automating a task gives you time to take a walk.  Maybe delegating something gives you more patience with your kids.  Maybe finding a faster way to handle something at work helps you close your laptop on time.  Or maybe that extra time gives you a few minutes to sit on the couch and do absolutely nothing—and yes, mama, that counts too.  In today's Monday Mindset, we're talking about why being capable doesn't mean you have to do everything yourself, why productivity shouldn't simply mean squeezing more into your day, and how simplifying the small things can help reduce your mental load and create more work-life balance.  Because the goal isn't to become more efficient so you can do more.  The goal is to become more efficient so you have more room for the people, priorities and moments that matter most.  💛Your Challenge for this week…  Find ONE thing you can simplify this week.  Automate it. Delegate it. Shorten it. Create a system for it. Use a tool to make it easier. Or decide that maybe it doesn't need to be done at all.  Then—and this is the important part—don't automatically fill that extra time with another task.  Ask yourself:  “What do I want to create space for?”  Your family? Your health? Your marriage? Your goals? Your faith? Your friendships? Your rest? Or simply being more present in the life you're already living?  Remember, mama: you don't get extra credit for doing life the hard way.  Every task you simplify creates space for something that matters more.  👉 Join the conversation!  Come share your biggest takeaway inside our free Facebook community Work-Life Balance For Working Moms. We'd love to hear how this week's mindset shift helps you move through overwhelm with more peace and intention. 349. Why Moms Burn Out Every September And How To Avoid It

Hey Mama,  Does September ever feel like someone suddenly hit the fast-forward button on life?  One minute you're enjoying slower summer mornings, and the next you're juggling school schedules, sports practices, homework, work deadlines, permission slips, teacher emails, and somehow trying to remember what you're making for dinner.  In today's episode, I'm sharing why I believe so many moms burn out every September—and more importantly, what we can do to prevent it.  This back-to-school season looks a little different for my family. We're dropping Ashley off at college on the exact same day that Kaylee and Michael head back to school, making this one of the biggest seasons of change we've experienced as a family. Between the emotions of watching my oldest leave the nest, adjusting our routines, and realizing my youngest is beginning his last year of middle school, I've been reminded that September isn't just busy—it's emotional.  In this episode, we're talking about:  Why September can feel more overwhelming than any other month   The invisible mental load moms carry during back-to-school season   Why saying "yes" to everything leads to burnout   Simple ways to simplify your routines and protect your time   Why every activity doesn't deserve a "yes"   How creating more margin can help your family feel calmer and more connected   My hope is that this episode reminds you that you don't have to do it all to be an amazing mom. Sometimes the best thing we can do for ourselves—and our families—is give ourselves permission to slow down, simplify, and focus on what matters most.  One Small Favor ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐  If this podcast has ever encouraged you, inspired you, or simply reminded you that you aren't alone, I'd be so grateful if you would take a minute to leave a 5-star rating, especially on Apple Podcasts.  If you have another minute to write a review, that would mean the world to me. 348. Working Mom Mindset: Overwhelmed? Here's Why You Don't Have To Do It All

Hi Mamas,  Have you ever felt like asking for help meant you were somehow failing?  Like if you weren't doing all the cooking, cleaning, planning, remembering, organizing, and managing, then maybe you weren't doing enough?  If you've ever felt that way...  You're not alone.  In today's Monday Mindset episode, I'm sharing a mindset shift that I think every working mom needs to hear:  "You don't have to do it all yourself to be enough."  As moms, we often wear busyness like a badge of honor. We convince ourselves that if we're exhausted, overwhelmed, and constantly pouring from an empty cup, it somehow proves how much we love our families.  But what if that's not true?  What if doing more doesn't make you a better mom...  What if being more present does?  Today, I'm talking about perfectionism, mom guilt, asking for help, and learning to let go of the unrealistic expectation that we have to carry everything on our own.  I also leave you with a simple challenge to help you start releasing one thing that's been weighing you down this week.  In This Episode, We Discuss:  Why so many working moms feel like they have to do everything themselves   The connection between perfectionism and mom guilt   Why being exhausted isn't a badge of honor   The difference between being busy because of life's season and creating unnecessary pressure for yourself   Why asking for help is a sign of strength—not weakness   How letting go of control creates more space for connection and presence   A simple challenge to help you lighten your mental load this week   ✨This Week's Challenge  Choose one thing you've been holding onto simply because you feel like you should be the one doing it.  Ask yourself:  "Am I doing this because it truly matters... or because I feel guilty letting someone else help?"  If it's guilt...  Practice letting it go.  Delegate it.  Simplify it.  Or decide it doesn't need to be done at all.  Sometimes the greatest gift you can give yourself—and your family—is permission to stop trying to do it all.    👉 Come share what mindset shift helped you this week in  our free Facebook community Work-Life Balance For Working Moms and help inspire other moms just like you! 347. How to Keep Going When Your Dreams Take Longer Than Planned

Hi Mamas, ,  Three years ago, I wrote a letter to my future self.  As part of a podcasting course, one of the assignments was to imagine where I'd be one year later. In that letter, I congratulated myself for reaching 100,000 podcast downloads.  There was just one problem...  I had absolutely no idea what I was getting myself into.  At the time, I had only been listening to podcasts for a few months. I didn't know anything about microphones, editing, downloads, algorithms, or SEO. I wasn't active on social media. I worked a full-time corporate job, and I'm an introvert who has never been particularly comfortable putting myself out there.  I was simply a working mom with a dream.  I thought I'd reach 100,000 downloads in one year.  Instead...  It took me three and a half.  And honestly?  I wouldn't change a thing.  In this very special milestone episode, I'm sharing the story behind the first 100,000 downloads, the dreams I had to put on hold, the one dream I refused to let die, and why I believe a delayed dream is not a dead dream.  This episode isn't really about podcast downloads.  It's about perseverance.  It's about motherhood.  It's about staying committed to the dreams that God—or the universe—placed on your heart, even when life doesn't unfold according to your timeline.  And most importantly...  It's a thank-you.  To every single one of you who has listened, shared, encouraged me, and allowed me to be part of your mornings, your commutes, your workouts, and your life.  From the bottom of my heart...  Thank you.  In This Episode, We Talk About:  The letter I wrote to my future self when I first started my podcast   Why I thought I'd reach 100,000 downloads in just one year   What I didn't know about podcasting when I first started   Balancing a full-time corporate career while building a passion project   The dreams I had to put on hold… and the one I refused to give up   What consistency has taught me over the last 350+ episodes   Why I call my podcast my "nonprofit"   The incredible feeling of reaching listeners in more than 150 countries   Why your dreams don't expire just because life gets busy   Encouragement for anyone who feels like they're behind on their own journey   A Special Thank You  Whether you've been listening since episode one or you just found this podcast yesterday...  Thank you.  Thank you for choosing to spend your time with me.  Thank you for allowing me to be a small part of your journey.  Thank you for helping turn a dream that once lived only in a letter into something I never imagined possible.  Here's to the first 100,000 downloads...  And to everything still to come. 346. Working Mom Mindset: Why It’s Not Too Late to Reach Your Goals

Hi Mamas,  Do you ever feel like you should be further along by now?  Maybe you thought you’d have started the business, changed careers, lost the weight, saved more money, written the book, gone back to school, or finally accomplished that goal that has been sitting on your heart.  But life happened.  Motherhood happened. Work got busy. Your priorities shifted. A hard season came along. And suddenly the timeline you had in your head looks nothing like your actual life.  In today’s Monday Mindset episode of Mom Wife Career Life, we’re talking about this reminder:  “A dream doesn’t expire just because it takes longer than you thought.”  As working moms, we’re pursuing our goals while also raising kids, building careers, managing homes, nurturing relationships, and navigating seasons of life that don't always go according to plan. Sometimes pursuing a dream doesn’t look like going all in. Sometimes perseverance means slowing down without quitting.  Sometimes it means letting go of the timeline while still holding onto the dream.  In this episode, we’re talking about:  ✨ Why taking longer doesn’t mean you’ve failed,   ✨ Why comparing your timeline to someone else’s can steal your motivation, and   ✨ How to keep a dream alive even during seasons when you don’t have the time or capacity to give it everything.  💛 This Week's Challenge  Think about one dream or goal you’ve quietly started believing you’re behind on and ask yourself:  “What is one small thing I can do to keep this dream alive?”  You don’t need to figure out the entire plan today. You don’t need to completely change your life this week.  Just take one small step.  Because you’re allowed to change the timeline without giving up on the dream.  And make sure you come back tomorrow for a very special episode where I’m sharing a huge Mom Wife Career Life milestone, the dream I wrote down when I first started this podcast, and what finally reaching it taught me about goals, perseverance, and refusing to give up—even when it takes much longer than you expected.  🎧 Listen now and share this episode with a working mom who needs the reminder that she is not too late to go after the life she wants.    👉 Come share what mindset shift helped you this week in  our free Facebook community Work-Life Balance For Working Moms and help inspire other moms just like you! 345. Back-to-School Systems Every Working Mom Needs: My Best Time & Sanity Saving Tips

Hey Mama,  Back-to-school season is here, and if you're already feeling like your calendar is filling up faster than your coffee cup, you're not alone!  This week, I'm bringing back one of my most popular back-to-school episodes… but with a twist. While the foundation is the same, I've updated it with new lessons, fresh tips, and a behind-the-scenes look at how our own family's routines are changing this year.  This school year looks very different for us. Ashley is heading off to college, which means we're adjusting to life without our extra driver, learning new routines, and navigating all the emotions that come with a new season of motherhood. At the same time, Kaylee and Michael are starting another school year, and just like many of you, I'm looking for simple ways to stay organized without adding more stress to our days.  In this episode, I'm sharing the systems and habits that help our family start the school year feeling calmer, more organized, and less overwhelmed.  In This Episode, We Talk About:  Why having one shared family calendar creates a single source of truth for your household  Building your schedule around your non-negotiables before filling in everything else  Creating simple morning and evening routines that make busy weekdays easier  Why I've become a big believer in simplifying where you can—even if that means buying school lunch instead of packing it every day  Setting healthy after-school screen time boundaries  Creating systems that reduce decision fatigue and mental load  Why protecting margin on your calendar is just as important as staying organized  Simple ways to make back-to-school season feel more intentional and less chaotic  This Week's Reminder  You don't need a perfect plan to have a successful school year.  You just need a few simple systems that support your family and the flexibility to adjust as life changes.  Remember, organization isn't about doing more—it's about making life easier. 344. Working Mom Mindset: Stop Trying To Fit More Into Your Life & Make Room For What Matters Most

Hey Mama,  As we head into back-to-school season, it's so easy to fall into the trap of thinking we need to fit everything into our already full schedules. New routines, school drop-offs, sports, homework, work deadlines, and family responsibilities all seem to arrive at once.  But this week, I want to challenge you to think about things differently.  Instead of asking yourself, "How am I going to fit it all in?" what if you asked:  "What deserves a place in my life this season?"  Every season of motherhood is different. As our children grow, our schedules change, and our responsibilities evolve, our priorities have to evolve too.  In this episode, I encourage you to stop trying to squeeze more into your days and instead make intentional space for the things that matter most.  In This Episode:  Why September often feels so overwhelming   A simple mindset shift to reduce stress before the school year begins   Why every season of motherhood requires different priorities   How to create more balance by making intentional choices instead of trying to do it all   This week's Monday Mindset Challenge   This Week's Mindset Shift  "Stop trying to fit more into your life, and start making more room for what matters most."  This Week's Challenge  Take five minutes to look at your calendar for the week ahead.  Instead of asking, "Where can I fit one more thing?" ask yourself:  "What deserves a place in my life this season?"  Then challenge yourself to remove, postpone, or say "no" to one thing that no longer aligns with your priorities.  Sometimes creating balance isn't about finding more time—it's about making more room for what matters most.  ⭐ If you enjoyed this episode, please take a moment to leave a 5-star review on Apple Podcasts or Spotify… your reviews help more amazing moms find the show! 341. When Life Throws You A Curveball: 3 Ways To Move Forward Without Feeling Overwhelmed

Hi Mamas, Have you ever had one unexpected moment make you feel like all your plans were about to fall apart? That's exactly what happened to my family just 36 hours before we were supposed to leave for Spain. In this episode, I'm sharing the story of the huge curveball that had us questioning whether we'd even make the trip… and the three mindset shifts that helped me move from panic and overwhelm to problem-solving. Life is always going to throw us unexpected challenges. Whether it's something happening at work, a financial setback, a parenting struggle, or an unexpected health issue, we can't always control what happens to us. But we can control how we respond. One simple question completely changed my perspective: "What's my next best step?" Instead of trying to solve the entire problem, I focused on taking one step at a time… and that's exactly what I hope you'll do the next time life throws you a curveball. In this episode, I share: ✨ The unexpected event that almost caused us to cancel our family vacation to Spain. ✨ Why trying to solve the entire problem often creates more overwhelm. ✨ The three mindset shifts that helped me move forward when everything felt uncertain. ✨ How I used ChatGPT as a brainstorming and problem-solving tool during one of our most stressful weekends. ✨ Why different doesn't automatically mean ruined—and how some of life's biggest curveballs often become our favorite memories. My Three Takeaways 💛 Accept reality faster. I didn't have to like what was happening, but accepting it allowed me to stop wishing things were different and start looking for solutions. 💛 Focus on what you can control. I couldn't magically heal Michael's ankle, but I could research options, make backup plans, adjust our expectations, and keep moving forward. 💛 Don't let one problem steal your joy. Our vacation looked different than we originally imagined, but different didn't mean ruined. In fact, some of our favorite memories came from the very thing we thought might derail the trip. This Week's Reflection The next time life throws you a curveball, pause and ask yourself: "What's my next best step?" You don't have to have the entire plan figured out today. You just have to keep moving forward, one step at a time. 340. Working Mom Mindset: Feeling Overwhelmed? Ask Yourself This One Simple Question

Hi Mamas, Have you ever felt like your mind was racing with everything that could go wrong? The work deadlines. The parenting challenges. The never-ending to-do list. The unexpected curveballs that seem to show up at the worst possible time. This week I’m sharing how a simple shift in perspective helped me move from feeling completely overwhelmed to taking productive action. Recording from Valencia, Spain, on my iphone (so please give me grace with the sound quality!_ I  reflect on why we often become overwhelmed… not because we have too much to do, but because we're trying to solve tomorrow's problems before we've taken today's first step. I also share an important lesson I’ve taught my own kids for years: when life gets messy, you don't have to have all the answers…you just need to know your next right step. In this episode, you'll learn: Why overwhelm often comes from trying to solve everything at once. The one question that can help you quiet an anxious, racing mind. Why clarity comes from taking action… not waiting until you have all the answers. A parenting lesson Kerri hopes her kids never forget. A simple challenge to help you feel calmer and more intentional this week. This Week's Mindset Shift "Overwhelm fades when you stop trying to solve everything and simply ask, 'What's my next best step?'" 💛 This Week's Challenge The next time you catch yourself spiraling, pause before trying to solve the entire problem. Instead, ask yourself: "What's my next best step?" Then take that one step before worrying about the next one. Small, intentional steps create momentum—and momentum leads to clarity. 👉 Join the conversation! 335. The Missing Piece in My Time Management Journey & It Wasn't Another Productivity Hack

Hi Mamas,  For years, I've taught the famous rocks, pebbles, and sand time management analogy.  Put the big rocks in first.  Then everything else fits around them.  But during a recent Sunday homily, I heard one sentence that completely changed the way I've thought about that lesson for years:  "The first big rock should be God."  That simple statement connected a puzzle piece I didn't even realize was missing.  In this episode, I'm sharing:  Why this episode almost became a Monday Mindset   The story that started with my college dorm assignment and reminded me to trust God's plan   My personal Sunday mantra:  "If I make time for God, God will make time for me."   How that mindset has changed my relationship with time   Why boundaries have become easier   Why I no longer believe everything depends on me   What faith looks like in our family   Why I believe faith is lived every day—not just inside a church building   The difference between being responsible... and believing you're responsible for everything   This is one of the most personal episodes I've ever shared, and my hope is simply that it encourages you to slow down, breathe, and remember that peace isn't found in doing more—it's found in letting go of what you were never meant to carry.  In This Episode We Cover  ✨ Why your to-do list isn't always the problem  ✨ The rocks, pebbles, and sand lesson that changed my perspective  ✨ How faith has influenced my time management journey  ✨ Why boundaries become easier when you stop trying to control everything  ✨ The difference between productivity and peace  ✨ Trusting the process when life doesn't go according to plan  ✨ Modeling faith instead of forcing it  ✨ Finding peace in busy seasons    👉 Come share what mindset shift helped you this week in  our free Facebook community Work-Life Balance For Working Moms and help inspire other moms just like you! 331. How To Advocate For Yourself At Work As A Working Mom Without Guilt Or Fear

Hi Mamas,  Have you ever found yourself advocating fiercely for your kids, your family, or your team… but struggling to speak up for yourself?  You're not alone.  In this episode, I'm sharing a lesson that life has been reminding me of lately: advocating for yourself isn't asking for special treatment—it's communicating what you need so you can continue showing up at your best without burning yourself out.  Between Ashley's prom, graduation, college orientation, Kaylee's Sweet 16, a mother-daughter trip, the podcast, and my corporate job, this season of life has been BUSY. And recently I was reminded just how important it is to communicate early, set expectations, and stop assuming people know what we need.  If you've ever felt overwhelmed, stretched too thin, afraid to speak up, or worried about how advocating for yourself might be perceived at work, this episode is for you.  In This Episode, I Share:  💛 Why advocating for yourself is not asking for special treatment  💛 How communicating early can reduce stress and prevent burnout  💛 The importance of getting clear on what you actually need  💛 Why bringing solutions instead of complaints leads to better conversations  💛 How fear and assumptions keep so many women silent  💛 A personal story about the moment I finally stopped staying quiet and started speaking my truth at work  💛 Why trust and consistency make workplace flexibility easier  💛 How boundaries and career success can absolutely coexist  💛 Simple ways to start advocating for yourself with confidence  👉 Come share how this week’s episode helped you this week in  our free Facebook community Work-Life Balance For Working Moms and help inspire other moms just like you! 324. Working Mom Mindset: Social Media Is A Highlight Reel, Not Real Life

Hi Mamas, Do you ever open social media for "just a minute" and somehow end up feeling like you're behind? Behind on motherhood. Behind on your goals. Behind on your housework. Behind on life. You're not alone. Today we're talking about the pressure of social media, the comparison trap so many moms fall into, and the powerful reminder that we are often comparing our real lives to someone else's carefully curated highlight reel. I share my own struggles with social media as both a mom and a coach, why healthy boundaries around technology matter, and how comparison can quietly steal our joy, confidence, and presence without us even realizing it. If you've ever found yourself questioning whether you're doing enough after scrolling social media, this episode is for you. In This Episode We Discuss: Why social media comparison is so common among moms • How comparison quietly steals joy and shifts our focus • The difference between real life and online highlight reels • Why even coaches and business owners struggle with comparison • The importance of creating healthy boundaries with social media • How to protect your peace and stay present in your own life • A simple mindset shift to help you stop feeling like you're falling behind This Week's Quote: "Don't compare your real life to someone else's highlight reel." 💛 My challenge for you this week, mamas… 📲 Pay attention to when comparison creeps in this week. 📲 When you notice it, pause. 📲 Put the phone down. Look around at your real life, your family, your blessings, and the season you're currently living in. Remind yourself that you were never meant to keep up with everyone else. You were meant to be present for your own life.   👉 Come share what mindset shift helped you this week in  our free Facebook community Work-Life Balance For Working Moms and help inspire other moms just like you! 314. Working Mom Mindset: Paper Clutter Is Just Decisions Waiting to Be Made

Hi Mamas,  Paper clutter has a way of piling up fast…  The mail on the counter…  School papers in backpacks…  Receipts, bills, and forms…  That stack you keep meaning to go through…  And before you know it… it starts to feel overwhelming.  In this Monday Mindset episode, we’re breaking down this quote by Barabara Hemphill:  "Clutter is nothing more than postponed decisions."    We’re shifting how you think about paper clutter and why it creates so much mental load.  Because paper clutter isn’t really about paper…  It’s about postponed decisions.  Every piece of paper represents something unfinished — something to review, sign, file, or throw away. When those decisions get delayed, the pile grows… and so does the overwhelm.  This episode will help you simplify your approach to paperwork, reduce visual clutter, and create more calm in your home.    In This Episode  Why paper clutter creates mental overwhelm   The connection between paper piles and postponed decisions   How unfinished tasks increase mental load   Why paper clutter creates visual stress   A simple mindset shift for managing paperwork   How quick decisions reduce clutter instantly   One small step to start decluttering paper   💛My challenge for you this week mamas….  Choose one paper pile and make decisions:  Kitchen counter  Mail stack  Kids’ backpacks  Command center  Paper drawer  You don’t need a perfect system… just start making decisions.    👉 Come share what mindset shift helped you this week in  our free Facebook community Work-Life Balance For Working Moms and help inspire other moms just like you!
