But instead of just taking a massive sh*t on them—which would be very easy to do—we're talking about knowing your rights when it comes to ICE.While the odds still favor this not happening, it is absolutely crucial to know what to do if you were taken by ICE. Everyone in the United States has constitutional rights—regardless of immigration status. That includes undocumented immigrants, visa holders, permanent residents—everyone.Important things to remember:​ You have the right to remain silent.​ You do not have to answer questions about where you were born, your immigration status, or how you entered the country.​ If these a-holes come to your home, they cannot enter without a valid warrant signed by a judge.​ If you are detained or arrested, you always have the right to speak to a lawyer.​ Do not ever lie or provide false documents.​ Do not carry important documents—if they seize those documents, there is no guarantee you'll get them back and then they can do whatever they want with them. Driver's license, passport, but no birth certificate or social security cards, etc.The goal here is not confrontation—it's protection. Your rights don't disappear just because a situation feels intimidating—and understanding them is one of the strongest tools you have.Stay safe, stay informed, and protect each other. We've got a lot to say about a lot of things, so buckle up.In this episode, Alex flies solo once more to touch on an event in Minneapolis, Minnesota that didn't receive much media attention. We're grateful that it didn't because if it had, that might've been indicative of something much, much worse. However, we did still want to bring awareness to this particular story.On Thursday, September 25, 2025, the Minneapolis Police Chief said that Waite Park Elementary in Minneapolis was placed on lockdown because of a threat made against students and staff. The suspect made a phone call to the school shortly before 11 a.m. and said he planned to "shoot anything that moves" with an AR-15 rifle. The man was later arrested in Missouri.Here is what Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey said after the school threat:"It's all the more scary especially just on the heals of the shooting over at Annunciation. The message to families is, your kids are safe and our city is here for you. Our job, police officer's job, is to keep people safe during these difficult circumstances that, yes, are in fact terrifying, and in this case, they did exactly that."While we agree with Frey, the overarching problem is the guns. There was no shooting, and whether that is by the grace of grand design or because of deterrence, our children should never have to experience fear of this magnitude. Hi all and welcome or welcome back to once in a millennial, a show hosted by four millennials with an excess of things to say.In this episode, Alex goes solo to shed some light on a recent act of violence that has left this country divided perhaps even more so than ever (in recent history).In case the message is lost, we want to be abundantly clear about one thing: we condemn gun violence of any kind, but we will not mourn a fascist organizer who built his career spreading racism, misogyny, homophobia, transphobia, Islamophobia, xenophobia, and anti-immigrant hate. He directly brought harm to marginalized communities every single day.Scolding others for refusing to shed tears over a man who dedicated his life to dehumanizing and endangering countless people. This doesn't make you a better person, and if you're a Christian, great, but it doesn't make you any closer to going to heaven. It just shows that you stand for nothing.And you know what? The people you think are out there fighting for you are most certainly not.Empathy is not owed to oppressors. Mourning is not mandatory. One week after the shooting that claimed the lives of Fletcher and Harper and injured 21 other people at Annunciation Catholic Church and School in Minneapolis, we're here to talk about gun violence, its impact on our generation, and how we can move forward to a safer future for our children and for ourselves.There's no denying that guns kill. The argument that people kill people, while true, is dismissive of the fact that guns also kill people. Two things can be true at the same time. The fact is that guns are the number one killer of children in this country and if that doesn't bother you, well, I don't know what to tell you. One child lost is too many, but literally thousands — yes, you read that correctly — of children are lost to gun violence each year and that number is on the rise.Children deserve to be protected. They deserve to feel safe when they're in school. They deserve to feel safe EVERYWHERE. WE deserve to feel safe everywhere.As always, we appreciate you tuning in. We ask each of you to look inward — do children matter enough to ban assault weapons?Thoughts and prayers aren't enough.
