165. What Lie Have You Told Yourself? Here's Mine
Hello, beautiful! The most dangerous lies you'll ever hear are not the ones somebody tells you. They're the ones you tell yourself, in your own voice, in your kitchen. And you never think to question them! This is week two of our Essence series: Breath, Heart, Soul. Last week we released what we're holding. This week we look at what we're hiding. Heidi tells the truth about her 2018 layoff, the confidence that turned to crickets, the season she called Pity City, and the lie she believed for far too long, until someone who loved her refused to let her stay there. You’ll Learn: 👣 The three steps down when you stop being honest with yourself 👣 Why "I'm fine" is the first lie, and the hardest one to catch 👣 What Ray kept saying that I couldn't hear for months ✨ Plus, you'll hear a few funny moments, heartfelt reflections, and a powerful prayer to help you embrace the season you're in with faith and courage. 📖 Grab your tea and your copy of My Beloved: A 30-Day Devotional to Receive, Release, & Radiate available at: https://a.co/d/05z6nSdX 🌟 Know someone who needs a little light? 164. The Cure for Your Pain Is Salt: Tears, Sweat & the Sea
Hello, beautiful! There's a kind of crying that makes no sound at all. If you've ever been down on that floor, this episode is for you. Isak Dinesen believed that saltwater—whether sweat, tears, or the sea—is the remedy for everything. That quote sits right in my heart. So, this week, we’re starting a new three-part series, Breathe - Heart - and we land on Soul, your Essence, and we begin with breath, because you cannot receive the truth while you're holding your breath. You’ll Learn: 👣 Why the cure for anything is saltwater, and what Isak Dinesen understood about your body 👣 The three salty ways out of what you're carrying: cry, write, move 👣 Why Scripture calls your wordless sighs prayer, not brokenness 👣 The one-breath shortcut you can do at a red light ✨ This Wednesday, July 22, My Beloved: A 30-Day Devotional to Receive, Release, and Radiate arrives. 163. Why Does Confidence Need Balance: Hubris & Humility
Hello beautiful! 💛 You know I love talking confidence around here — but today, we're flipping the lens. Because confidence without a check on it isn't strength, it's a setup. So we're talking humility: the thing that keeps our confidence from tipping into something it was never meant to be. You'll Learn: 👣 Why asking for help is actually the wiser, more confident move (hint: Proverbs 28:26 says so) 👣 The Greek concept of hubris — and why the gods always punished it 👣 Five practical, humble ways to ask for help (borrowed from Psychology Today, with a faith-rooted twist) 👣 Why gratitude is the step most of us skip — and why it matters most 📖 Grab your tea and your Life Design Workbook: https://etsy.me/3Txdc1z— and use code PODCAST15 for 15% off any workbook! 🌟 Know someone who needs a little light? 162. How Affirmations Help You Step Up & Ignite Joy
Hello, beautiful! Have you ever thought about the dash — that tiny little line between your birth date and your death date on a headstone? It doesn't look like much. But it's everything. In today's episode, I'm showing you how affirmations can help you step up and ignite real joy — even when fear or imposter syndrome is trying to keep you stuck. Pulling from an old poem called "Between the Dash," a Christmas trip gone sideways in a Virginia castle (yes, really), and a question that's been sitting in my Trello board for four years: what if every life really does have a story worth telling — including yours? We'll sit with Psalm 90:12, wrestle with the fear that keeps so many of us stuck in inaction, and walk through a full centering exercise and affirmation practice to help you step into joy and take one small, brave step today. You'll Learn: 👣 How affirmations help you step up and release fear and self-doubt 👣 Why the "dash" matters more than the dates on either side of it 👣 A simple centering + affirmation practice to ignite joy and take action ✨ Plus, you'll hear a heartfelt prayer to help you lay down fear, shame, and hesitation — and pick up your gumption instead. 📖 Grab your tea and your Affirmation Journal, available at: https://riselovelive.com/Affirmation%20Guide — and use code PODCAST15 for 15% off any workbook! 🌟 Know someone who needs a little light? 161. Finish the Year Strong: See It Before You Live It
Hello, beautiful! We're back for Part 2 of our Finish the Year Strong series — and if you haven't listened to Episode 160 yet, go back and start there! Last week, we talked about Walt Disney and Conrad Hilton and what their bankruptcy-before-breakthrough stories teach us about motivation, God's timing, and never giving up on our dreams. Today, we're going deeper into how we can take that motivation and put it to work through two practices: Visualization and Meditation. And I promise you, neither one requires perfection or an hour of silence. Just a willing heart and five minutes to start. In this episode, you'll discover: 👣 How to use visualization in under thirty minutes a day 👣 Why staying rooted in reality — not fantasy — actually makes it more powerful 👣 My meditation toolkit 👣 And why the "best" method is simply the one you'll actually show up for 📖 Grab your tea and your Dream your Dreams | Plan your Life Workbook, available at: https://etsy.me/3TcASYK — and use code PODCAST15 for 15% off any workbook! 🌟 Know someone who needs a little light? 160. Finish the Year Strong: The Story of Two Dreamers
Hello, beautiful! Mid-year check-in: how's that to-do list looking? No judgment here — my book was supposed to be done in March, and I’m just now hitting "upload" on Amazon. (Big announcement still coming, by the way!) That said, this episode is part one of a true-story two-parter about what it actually takes to get things done. And we lay the groundwork with Motivation. Listen to the tales of two very different men, Walt Disney and Conrad Hilton, whose stories of bankruptcy before breakthrough might just change how you see your own "stuck" season. You’ll Learn: 👣 What "motivation" actually means — and why it's a drive, not just a feeling 👣 Why Habakkuk 2:3 and Jeremiah 29:11 are the perfect pairing for anyone waiting on a dream 👣 And you’ll walk away with a beautiful motivational toolkit 📖 Grab your tea and your Dream Your Dreams Workbook, available at: https://etsy.me/3TcASYK — and use code PODCAST15 for 15% off any workbook! 🌟 Know someone who needs a little light? 159. I Am Stronger Than My Fear — And I Am Not Alone
Hello, beautiful! Ever feel that quiet fear creep in right when you’re about to try something new? Not the big, dramatic kind. The sneaky kind. The “I’ll think about it” kind. The “maybe next time” kind. This week, hubby handed me the perfect topic out of nowhere – the fear of trying new things, and why you were never meant to face it alone. We’re talking about support systems, stepping outside your comfort zone, and the One who is already in your corner before you even take the leap. You’ll learn: 👣 Why fear of new things is sneakier than you think 👣 How community and courage go hand in hand 👣 What it really means to lean on God as your first move, not your last resort ✨ Plus, a prayer for anyone who’s been digging deep and has nothing left to dig. 📖 Grab your tea and your Life Design workbook, available at: https://etsy.me/3Txdc1z — and use code PODCAST15 for 15% off! 🌟 Know someone standing at the edge of something new? 158. Trust God: Build Your Creations on Solid Ground
Hello, beautiful! Have you ever looked at something you're building — a dream, a goal, a creative project — and wondered why it keeps feeling so heavy? What if the problem isn't what you're building — but where you're building it? This week, I came across a quote that stopped me in my tracks. Not because I loved it — but because I wasn't sure that I did. And that little pause led me somewhere really good. We're talking sand castles, blankets, and a Father who gets right down in the sand with you. And I think it just might change the way you think about everything you're working on right now. You'll Learn: 👣 Why where you build matters more than what you build 👣 How to release the things you cannot control — and what to do with them 👣 What it really looks like to let God into your everyday creating and dreaming 📖 Grab your tea, your cozy blanket, and your Dream Your Dreams workbook, available at: https://etsy.me/3TcASYK — and use code PODCAST15 for 15% off! 🌟 Know someone who needs a little solid ground today? 157.The Art of Self-Love as a Practice: 6 Ways to Choose Yourself
Hello, beautiful! Last week, we talked about the five easy-peasy ways to practice wellness — wake with intention, nourish your body, move with love, enjoy life, and spend time with your peeps. We laid the foundation. THIS week, we're diving into the HOW. Because knowing you should wake with intention is one thing. But actually doing it with self-love? That's the art. Self-love isn't something you fall into or wait for. It's not passive. It's something you build, brick by brick, choice by choice. And that's what we're exploring today — six ways you can actively grow your self-love through consistent behavior and mindset. This episode is for anyone who's been waiting for self-love to find them. It's time to start building it with intention, intention, and grace. You'll Learn: 👣Why self-love is a practice, not a feeling you wait for 👣 Six ways to actively cultivate self-love 👣 How to anchor these practices to scripture for spiritual grounding 👣And a 21-day challenge 📖 Grab your tea and your Affirmation Journal, available at: https://riselovelive.com/Affirmation%20Guide — and use code PODCAST15 for 15% off any workbook! 🌟 Know someone who needs a little light? 156. 5 Morning Routines: Will You Fill Your Cup Today?
Hello, beautiful! Last week we had our pivot, our moment to just be — the permission slip many of us needed to just … breathe. Did you take that opportunity? I hope so! Maybe you didn’t do it three times a day, or even every day — heck, I’d be happy if you just did it once last week, right after listening. You gave yourself a great big hug and then went and did some weeding. HA — that’s essentially what I did. Well, my patio project that I think is going to last the ENTIRE summer … but that conversation is for another day. So with the realization of where we are with the calendar glaring down my neck — is that even the right expression?? — I thought THIS is the perfect opportunity to touch on morning routines. ICK — I heard that grumble in the back. Don’t hit stop, wait, wait — I promise this isn’t going to be some lecture. AND this will help with making us feel better. So if you’re ready for that refresh button — or maybe just a reminder of how wonderful a morning routine can be for a happy soul — then grab that cup of tea, a cozy blanket, your Dream Your Dreams workbook from my Etsy boutique, snuggle in, and let’s lean IN to feeling fabulous. Wellness is a decision. And that sounds almost too simple, right? Like one of those motivational poster quotes that makes you roll your eyes a little. But stay with me here, because I think there’s something really powerful in that simplicity. When we choose wellness each day — even in the smallest ways — we’re giving ourselves the gift of energy, clarity, and joy. And the beautiful thing? It doesn’t have to look perfect. It doesn’t have to be Instagram-worthy. It just has to be intentional. Today I’m not giving you a to-do list. I’m giving you an invitation. A menu of possibilities. You take what fits, you leave what doesn’t, and you trust yourself to know the difference. You’ll Learn: 👣 Why wellness is a decision 👣 5 morning practices to fill your cup 👣 How to anchor scripture to your morning routine 👣 Why self-care isn’t about escape — it’s about alignment. 📖 Grab your tea and your Dream Your Dreams journal, available at: https://etsy.me/3TcASYK — and use code PODCAST15 for 15% off any workbook! 🌟 Know someone who needs a little light? 155. Permission to Just Be: Finding God in the Stillness
Hello, beautiful! Can you believe we're almost halfway through 2026? If you're looking at your vision board, your Bible reading plan, or your list of goals and feeling just a little bit tired — not failing, just tired — this episode is for you. For the past 5.5 months, we've done deep work together. We walked through Lent. We peeled back layers. We leaned into hard questions. And growth has been beautiful. But growth is also heavy. So today, we're hitting pause. I stumbled onto the story behind an old Edie Brickell song this week — "What I Am" — and one line completely captured my heart: "Religion is the smile on a dog." She wrote it during college, frustrated by classmates who were so busy over-intellectualizing faith that they missed the actual experience of it. And it made me wonder: How often do we do the same thing? How often do we turn grace into a checklist? How often do we drown ourselves in the deep end when God is simply asking us to rest in the shallows and enjoy Him? Your faith is not a performance review. God doesn't love the optimized version of you any more than He loves you right now — in your mess, your fatigue, and your unfinished to-do lists. So today, I'm not giving you homework. I'm just asking you to take a breath. To look around at your life and see what's already here. To give yourself permission to just be. Consider this your permission slip. You’ll Learn: 👣 Why rest is a spiritual practice, not a weakness 👣 Why Jesus modeled simplicity over striving 👣 How to give yourself permission to just be ✨ Plus, you’ll hear a gentle prayer for the woman who's been trying so hard and just needs to breathe. 📖 Grab your tea and your Live Your Life journal, available at: https://etsy.me/3Txdc1z— and use code PODCAST15 for 15% off any workbook! 🌟 Know someone who needs a little light? 154. You are Held: A Mother's Day for Every Woman
Hello, beautiful! Today is a special day for most — but not for all. And weeks ago, He tapped me on the shoulder and asked me to make space in today's episode for the woman whose Mother's Day isn't joyful, whatever the reason. If your relationship with your mom, mother-in-law, or stepmom is complicated… if motherhood wasn't in the cards for you… if you are grieving a mother, longing to be one, or just finding today heavier than the world seems to think it should be — please don't skip this one. He gave me a surprise for you. Together we'll take a few sacred breaths, sit with a prayer for the brokenhearted, and let the words of Martina McBride's "In My Daughter's Eyes" wash over us — woven through with God's own Word from Philippians, Isaiah, Psalms, and Jeremiah. This isn't a typical Mother's Day episode. It's a soft place to land. You'll Learn: 👣 Why making space for hard feelings on a "happy" day is one of the most loving things you can do for yourself 👣 What Helen Reddy's daughter inspired in "I Am Woman." 👣 The reminder that you are strong, you are seen, you are guided, and you are held ✨ Plus, a tender prayer for the brokenhearted, a song that may break you open in the best way, and the permission to lay your head in His lap today. 📖 Grab your tea and your Dream Your Dreams workbook, available at: https://etsy.me/3TcASYK — and use code PODCAST15 for 15% off any workbook! 🌟 Know a beautiful soul whose Mother's Day is heavy this year? 153. The Lies Are Loud. God Still Whispers His Love
Hello, beautiful! How are you doing after last week’s episode? After we sat in the ashes with Job, gave ourselves permission to ask, "Why me, God?", and learned that the Shepherd walks with us through the valley — not around it. Well, this week, we're building on that. Because the next question is just as important as the first one. Last week we asked, "Why me, God?" This week, we ask, "Who am I becoming because of this?" Today we're talking about the lies that grow in hard seasons — the negative beliefs that whisper in our ears when we’re too tired to fight back. We'll name two of the loudest ones, hear what scripture says back to them, and learn what it means to "stay in your lane" when life gets heavy. Inspired by Romans 8 and 2 Corinthians 12, we'll explore why God's love isn't earned, why your brokenness isn't a disqualifier, and how the inner work of healing negative beliefs is some of the most sacred work we do. You'll Learn: 👣 What it really means to "stay in your lane" when something hard is happening to you 👣 The two loudest lies that whisper in women's hearts during hard seasons — and the scripture that confronts each one 👣 Why your past explains you, but does not excuse you (and how emotional intelligence meets faith) 👣 One tender invitation for healing a negative belief this week 📖 Grab your tea and your affirmation journal, available at: https://riselovelive.com/Affirmation%20Guide — and use code PODCAST15 for 15% off any workbook! 🌟 Know a beautiful soul who's been hearing the lies a little too loudly? 152. When Reasons Aren't Enough: Why Me, God?
Hello, beautiful! Has anyone ever said to you, "It's okay, everything happens for a reason"? Oh, friend. That phrase isn't in the Bible. It never was. And if your heart has been quietly carrying the question, "Why me, God?" — This episode is for you. Today we're opening the book of Job — a man who lost almost everything in a single breath, sat in ashes, and asked the very question you may have whispered at 3 a.m. We'll talk about what Job's friends got wrong (and what God Himself had to say about it), why asking "why me?" is not a lack of faith, and what the rod and the staff of Psalm 23 actually mean for you in the valley. You'll Learn: 👣 Why "everything happens for a reason" isn't biblical — and what God Himself said to the friends who said it 👣 How to sit with someone in their ashes (and how to offer that same grace to yourself) 👣 What the rod and the staff of Psalm 23 actually are — and how they're working for you right now 👣 Three invitations for walking through the valley when you wish you could skip to the end ✨ Plus, a tender prayer, a Lauren Daigle lyric that may become your anthem this week, and the permission you've been waiting for to stop explaining your ashes. 📖 Grab your tea and your Life Design Workbook, available at: https://etsy.me/3Txdc1z — and use code PODCAST15 for 15% off any workbook! 🌟 Know someone sitting in the ashes today? 151. Are You Resistant to Change? Or Do You Fear It?
Hello, beautiful! Last week, we stood with Thomas in that locked room and practiced loosening our grip. But believing is one thing — stepping out is another And the minute we start to move, a sneaky new friend shows up: resistance. Dressed as worry. As what-ifs. As "maybe not today." In this Part II Sunday episode, we're digging into why we resist change, where fear really comes from, and how Jesus gave us the most loving, gentle pep talk for exactly this moment in Matthew 6:25-34. Because worrying about tomorrow? It doesn't add a single hour to your life. Your only job is today. You'll Learn: 👣 How to reframe change from something happening TO you into something happening FOR you 👣 That breaking change down to one step, one day at a time, is straight from scripture 👣 The power of celebrating small wins is evidence that God is already walking with you ✨ Plus, a tender prayer, a powerful reminder from Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., and three gentle practices you can start this week. 📖 Grab your tea and your Live Your Life journal, available at: https://etsy.me/3Txdc1z and use code PODCAST15 for 15% off any workbook! 🌟 Know someone who's been sitting in the locked room a little too long? 150. Loosen Your Grip: The Gift of Doubting Thomas
Hello, beautiful! It's been exactly one week since the empty tomb—and one of Jesus's closest friends still doesn’t quite believe. If you've ever caught yourself thinking too rigidly, demanding answers on your schedule, or quietly insisting that God appear exactly as you've imagined—this episode is for you. I'm walking you back into that locked room with the disciples, and inviting you to see yourself in Thomas's story. Because rigid thinking doesn't just live in our faith life—it lives in our marriages, our careers, our friendships, and especially in the way we talk to ourselves. And sometimes, my sweet, it even wears a convincing costume and calls itself faithfulness. Inspired by John 20:19-29, we'll explore how Jesus meets us right where we are—locked doors and all—and gently invites us to loosen our grip and believe. In today's episode, we'll uncover what Doubting Thomas can teach us about softening our hearts, releasing control, and trusting God's surprises. You'll Discover: 👣 How to spot when certainty is quietly masquerading as faith 👣 Three gentle practices to loosen your grip this week 👣 Why Jesus didn't shame Thomas—and what that tenderness means for you ✨ Plus, you'll hear a heartfelt confession or two, a powerful reminder that you are a beloved child of God, and a tender prayer to help you open the door just a crack and let His light in. 📖 So, grab your tea, your Prayer Journal - https://riselovelive.com/Prayer%20Journal & Your Life Design journal - https://etsy.me/3Txdc1z and use PODCAST15 for 15% off any workbook! 🌿 Please Stay in Touch: 🦋 If this episode resonated with you, support the podcast and share a tea! https://buymeacoffee.com/riselovelive 🦋 Follow along on Instagram @riselovelive 🦋 Subscribe & leave a ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ review! Hello, beautiful! If you've been walking through this Lenten season with me — climbing the mountain, sitting in stillness, releasing what no longer serves you — then today's episode is your reward. It's time to exhale. Christ has risen indeed, and today we trade our ashes for beauty, step into the sunlight, and celebrate the sacrifice that set us free. We let the words from Paul Baloche's powerful song, "You Gave Your Life Away," and Isaiah 61 wash over us with promises of freedom and joy, and close with Kathryn Scott's gorgeous reminder that at the foot of the cross, we are made complete. This isn't just another Sunday or another new season — we are His fresh flowers, ready to bloom. In today's episode, we'll settle into the glorious truth of Easter and what it means as we step forward into a new season. You'll Discover: 👣 Why Easter is our exhale after the sacred work of Lent 👣 How to trade your ashes for beauty and step into what's next 👣 Why we are fresh flowers in His garden — needing only sunlight, rain, and grace to bloom 📖 So, grab your tea and your Live Your Life journal, available at: https://etsy.me/3Txdc1z — and use code PODCAST15 for 15% off any workbook! 🌟 Know someone who needs a little light? 142. Laying it Down
Hello, Beautiful! Welcome back to our Lenten Thursday devotional—faithful companionship through the middle. Last week, we talked about the weight we carry. Today, we take the next step in the journey: learning how to lay it down, even when life still hurts. Inspired by the powerful song Even If by MercyMe and the promises found in Isaiah 43 and Matthew 11, this episode explores the kind of faith that trusts God not only when circumstances change—but even when they don’t. In today's episode, you'll discover: 👣 Why faith doesn’t require perfect answers when life feels unfair 👣 How trusting God means leaning on His character, not our circumstances 👣 A gentle prayer to help you lay your burdens at His feet ✨ Plus, a reminder that you don’t have to carry everything alone. 140. The Weight We Carry
Hello, Beautiful! Lent is our opportunity to surrender the weight we carry. Not just chocolate or chips—but the pain, the sorrow, the hurt, the burdens that only heaven can heal. Today's devotional features one of my absolute favorite songs: "Come As You Are" by Crowder—and Matthew 11:28-30, where Jesus gives us the most beautiful invitation: "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." This isn't about getting yourself together. It's not about cleaning yourself up or having it all figured out. Just come. Just be. Come as you are. In today's episode, you'll discover: 👣 Why Lent asks us to stay in the messy middle—not rush to the end 👣 The powerful connection between Crowder's lyrics and Jesus's words 👣 And a gentle call to surrender: lay down your burdens, lay down your shame ✨ Plus, a journaling prompt and cleansing ritual to help you release what you've been carrying. 📖 Grab your tea, a cozy blanket, and your Bible. 139. Navigate Life's Valleys: 3 Practices to Find Peace
Hello, Beautiful! Last week, we faced the valley. We named the hurt. But now what? How do we actually navigate through this wilderness? Well, today, I'm sharing three simple, gentle practices that have helped me find my footing when the path feels rocky and uncertain: daily Scripture reading, journaling, and wilderness time. You'll hear a fun story about Moses and the Amalekites (say that three times fast!), a journaling prompt to help you connect with God, and why intentionally creating a quiet space in the wilderness changes everything. Inspired by Proverbs 3:5-6 and Isaiah 30:21, this episode reminds you that you don't have to figure it all out alone—God will guide your steps. In today's episode, you'll discover: 👣 How daily Scripture shifts your perspective before the world speaks 👣 A gentle journaling prompt: Where have you seen God at work recently? 👣 Why "wilderness time" helps you hear God's whisper ✨ Plus, gentle homework: Pick ONE practice this week—just one!—and trust that God will meet you there. 📖 Grab your tea, cozy blanket, and your Life Design Workbook from my Etsy boutique: https://etsy.me/3Txdc1z 🌟 Know someone navigating a valley right now? 127.Hear the Christmas Bells: A Devotional on Forgiveness & Peace
Hello, beautiful! On this Christmas Day, we pause to hear the bells of Bethlehem and celebrate the birth of our Savior—the Prince of Peace. In this Love Thursday devotional, we reflect on the angels’ proclamation of good news, the shepherds’ wonder, and the timeless message of peace on earth and goodwill to all. Through scripture, song, and story, we’re reminded that forgiveness and peace are not just gifts we receive—but choices we are invited to make. As the bells ring, may your heart soften. May old wounds find grace. And may Christmas love remind you that peace begins within and flows outward through compassion, kindness, and forgiveness. Settle in, take a deep breath, and allow the music of Christmas to meet you right where you are. 🎄 Merry Christmas, my sweet.
