Episode 351: Real Talk 5-2-2026
There are many meanings to the phrase May Day. Our modern day leftist use it to support communism. In war it was used to signify an emergency. As California moves further left the emergency is real. For every proposition on the ballot to protect proposition 13 the legislature creates propositions to defeat it. A retired couple who bought their home in Montana in 2005 out the hard way what unlimited property taxes can do to home ownership. Their 2005 property tax bill was $2,700. Their 2026 property tax bill is $58,000! We discuss all of this and more on this week's Real Talk. Real Talk is the Right Side of Real Estate.

California is repeatedly suing the Trump administration for trying to increase gas supplies in California. Several initiatives have qualified for the November ballot in California. How will Bonta name them? One requires voter id and proof of citizenship to vote. It will probably be named The Voter Suppression Act by our Secretary of State. The Jarvis initiative to protect Proposition 13 will probably be named the Unfair and Unequal Tax Act. We discuss all of this and more on this week's Real Talk. Real Talk is the Right Side of Real Estate.

Legislation has been introduced to allow minors up to 20 years to sue any therapist who did not affirm their transition. Additional legislation has been introduced to make it illegal for hospitals to comply with Federal requests for records relating to sex changing surgeries of minors. Both of these laws are probably unconstitutional. We discuss all of this and more on this week's Real Talk. Real Talk is the Right Side of Real Estate.

Episode 348: Real Talk 4-11-2026
Is AI evil? The complexity of California's laws protecting tenants requires a spreadsheet to determine what an owner of a rental can or can't do. Real Talk is the Right Side of Real Estate.

Episode 347: Real Talk 4-4-2026
As we celebrate this Easter weekend it seems that the world is in the final stages of the spiritual battle described in the Bible. The left continues to protest any cause that Trump supports. Often they don't even know why they are protesting. State Legislatures continue to write additional laws limiting our constitutional rights. The United States appears to have allied with the King of the North against the King of the South as described by John in Revelations. These are truly troubling times we live in. As we celebrate the great gift we received from God in sacrificing his Son Jesus Christ for our sins, we should all spend time with family and reflect on the word of God. I hope everyone has a blessed peaceful Easter.

Episode 344: Real Talk 4-14-2026
The longer the straight of Hormuz is closed the more people in third world countries will starve. It is not just the oil. It is the fertilizer. Government does not solve problems. Solving a problem means there is no need for the bureaucracy that was tasked with solving it. That is why government continues to create regulation that only they can interpret. The current uncertainty in the Middle East is causing interest rates to rise. We discuss all of this and more on this week's Real Talk. Real Talk is the Right Side of Real Estate.
-
85
Episode 343: Real Talk 3-7-2026
Newsom introduces his new water plan for California in which they promise to study how to deliver more water to the state. How can we trust our government or so called experts? Government survives by not solving problems, only studying them. Solving a problem would take away their jobs. If you move to another state do you have to pay California income tax on your California rental income? We discuss all of this and more on this week's Real Talk. Real Talk is the Right Side of Real Estate.

Episode 341: Real Talk 2-21-2026
California Democrat Congress members are visiting their districts claiming that the high cost of housing, gas and electricity in California are all caused by Trump and Republicans. Meanwhile the California legislature is trying to devise ways and reasons to break Proposition 13. In Nashville Tennessee where there are no protections for property owners one owner made the news because his property tax is going up from $160,000 to $600,000 forcing him to sell his business. A San Francisco professor claims that Proposition 13 costs the state $43 billion a year in uncollected property taxes. He further notes that the longer you own a home in California the more disparate the property tax becomes, unfairly helping older white people to keep their homes. In most red states seniors get major property tax breaks. In California they are trying to figure out how to tax seniors and force them to sell their homes. We discuss all of this and more on this week's Real Talk. Real Talk is the Right Side of Real Estate.

Episode 340: Real Talk 2-14-2026

The leftists are screaming that Trump is a science denier. California is threatening to sue and to write their own laws making CO2 poison again in California. Newsom says that California will start laying tracks this year on the High Speed Choo Choo Train to nowhere. The truth is that they are nowhere near laying any tracks. They are just planning to buy the steel. We discuss all of this and more on this week's Real Talk. Real Talk is the Right Side of Real Estate.

For the past 20 years the left has controlled California. For the last 16 years the Democrats have had a veto proof majority. During that time their policies have destroyed the once great state. Farmers are forced to idle their crops. California has the highest energy prices in the country. The least affordable housing. The highest taxes. Our schools and roads are near the bottom of every measure of achievement and our Governor is going around the country bragging about his abilities to lead. There is an election coming. Will California start to turn the pendulum back or double down on stupid. We discuss all of this and more on this week's Real Talk. Real Talk is the Right Side of Real Estate.
-

Episode 338: Real Talk 1-31-2026

Episode 332: Real Talk 12-20-2025
How would you describe a state that promotes the sexualization and mutilation of young children? Is it evil? Are the proponents of "gender affirming care" just well meaning but misguided? In this week's podcast we discuss a young woman who was told at age 12 by a California school counselor that her anorexia and feelings of depression were caused by her being born in the wrong body. Getting hormone blockers and taking testosterone would help her to cope with her "mental" issues. At age 15 they cut off her breasts. The doctors convinced the parents it was the only way to help her overcome her depression. At age 22 she is now married and has a child. She is scarred for life and has permanent medical issues. She just read an article in which the "Doctor" who preformed her surgery admits in a interview he was just "winging it". All of this was condoned by the State of California. We discuss all of this and more on this week's Real Talk. Real Talk is the Right Side of Real Estate.

Episode 331: Real Talk 2-13-2025
After a 20 year study Berkeley scientists have determined that Native Americans were right. Controlled burns create healthier forests and reduce air pollution. Who would have guessed that? In another 30 year study, the United Nations found that over the last 30 years sea level has only gone up 3 inches. They then lied and said that is exactly what their models predicted. (They have been predicting at least 1 foot of sea level rise every 10 years through 2050). The Federal Reserve reduced interest rates and 30 year mortgage interest rates went slightly higher. We discuss all of this and more on this week's Real Talk. Real Talk is the Right Side of Real Estate.
-

Episode 329: Real Talk 11-29-2025
What are you thankful for? The first Thanksgiving was to celebrate every gift God has given us. The Pilgrims celebrated the right to worship freely. William Bradford tried socialism the first year of their arrival in America and found that many chose to not work if they had to share their food and belongings equally. It nearly destroyed the colony. The result was the beginning of American capitalism. Each pilgrim was no responsible to grow their own food and care for themselves. The colony flourished. Apparently our children are no longer taught this in school. They are taught that socialism is the fairest form of government and that capitalism is evil. We discuss all of this and more on this week's Real Talk. Real Talk is the Right Side of Real Estate.
