Something Witchy: A Sabrina the Teenage Witch Rewatch

We're at the end of Season 3 and recapping everything went down - all the highs and especially all the lows. We're joined by special guest Sara Murphy as we discuss the big season arc - Mrs. Kinkle's pregnancy! J/k, obviously it's the family secret and the years it has shaved off of Skye's life. We continue to question the logistics of how the twin thing actually works and wonder what other family secrets might be out there. It's finally here! We're recapping the Season 3 Finale, "The Good, the Bad, and the Luau" and Skye can finally rest easy (maybe?) now that the family secret has been revealed. AND Harvey's mom finally gives birth, which is an equally important season arc that we definitely didn't forget about, even if we don't actually have a credit for her actress. Sabrina has to face off with her twin, Katrina, to determine who is evil and who is good. Given what we've seen of Sabrina's behavior this season, that's going to be a trickier decision than it should be. Would you be the good twin or the evil twin?

Break out your reading glasses, it's time to recap Season 3 Episode 24 "Silent Movie." A lot of seemingly random moments come together beautifully in this fantastic episode, although the weird chicken costume in the opening credits is NOT one. Sabrina is also kind of a bad friend to Valerie again but we get some amazing acting by Martin Mull as a silent movie villain. But why do we never find out what's going on with Grammy Kraft? What we do find out is what Paw Patrol and Sabrina have in common, the history of silent film, and our favorite types of pie. Make sure to listen until the end to hear how close Skye comes to solving the family secret...

Sleep with one eye open, gripping your pillow tight. Exit light, enter Sabrina, the Sandman! In season 3 Episode 23, Sabrina gets a job as a Sandman, helping her neighbors fall asleep each night....and then spying on their dreams. She meddles in people's lives (again), resulting in some disastrous consequences while her aunts get harassed by a man in a giant orange cone costume. They have to get Sabrina to solve the family secret or face "dire" consequences of their own. They're so desperate, they even ask Salem to help, leading to one of the most iconic Salem lines in the entire series. Sabrina might still not understand she shouldn't use mind control on people but at least we get some continuity with Freud's return! In between recap discussions, Skye and Laura also make time to talk about bugs and gardening again, plus mall pretzels, class rings, Pauly Shore, company mascots, and Hugh Jackman's blue balls.

This is the true story...of two friends...who love Sabrina the Teenage Witch...and have their conversations recorded...as they figure out what happens...in Season 3 Episode 21...Sabrina's Real World. (Pls don't sue us, MTV.) Salem sells the rights to Sabrina's life to a skeezy producer and now she's the star of her very own reality show. She tries being boring to get the show cancelled but the producer keeps sending more and more life-threatening and exciting events her way. The aunts are too busy with their own problems to help her. Hilda is trapped in a "Borscht belt" and must make 1 million jokes before it will come off. And her short, bald date is on his way over. Then Zelda gets called up for Grim Reaper duty to deliver bad news to witches (where was the Bad News Reaper before Sabrina kissed Harvey and turned him into a frog?). Everything works out in the end, though. Except for Hilda's love life. And Salem's business plans. And the man that gets athlete's foot. Enjoy tangents about natural disasters as Skye and Laura discuss some of the ones they have lived through, as well as Nostradamus and the V Chip. This week we're rewatching Season 3 Episode 20 "Sabrina's Pen Pal." Sabrina finds out her Other Realm pen pal, Martha, is a pal in the penitentiary...and Sabrina helped her escape custody. Not only does Martha continue her thieving ways in Westbrook, she hits on Mr. Kraft and isn't that truly the bigger crime? Sabrina and the aunts team up to try to stop Martha from stealing the most powerful gem in the universe. They are as successful as you would expect them to be. Throughout all of this, Salem has a few extra lives he's trying to burn which leads to a continuation of the cat soul discussion which is the true story arc of this season. Once again we're left with a plethora of questions but we get some fun gardening stories, quotes from The Big Sleep, and we discover that Skye has never played The Sims. Even in real life, the logic fails at every single turn.

What use would an Other Realm sheep-witch have with an oven? Who knows! We definitely don't find out in Season 3 Episode 19, "The Big Sleep." But BOY do we learn plenty of other trivia!  Sabrina tries to be proactive in solving the family secret and reaches out to a hidden family relative to ask for a clue. But this relative is highly offended at having her decade-long nap interrupted and fills the Spellman house with poppies. It turns out that Other Realm poppies are deadly to Spellmans and they send the aunts into a deep sleep (but somehow THIS isn't the family secret?). Sabrina has to try and clean up the poppies while also hosting an allnighter study session after Valerie poisons the original members of the Brain Busters. Now it's up to Harvey, Valerie, and Libby (honestly so brave of her to go back to that house) to learn everything they can while Sabrina falls asleep at the competition. Where is Gordie for this very nerd-centric activity, you might ask? GOOD QUESTION. It was a dark and stormy night when Skye and Laura recapped Season 3 Episode 18, "Sabrina, the Teenage Writer." Not really but we did record at night. Sabrina is finally not perfect at something when she gets a C- on her short story. This sends her into a tail spin and she is determined to channel her inner William Faulkner to bring her grade up. We also learn more about William Faulkner than we could ever use at pub trivia. Unfortunately, she does so on Hilda's magical typewriter which makes whatever she types about become real and a spy story takes over the school. We all learn about the importance of character development alongside Sabrina and surely we will have no reason in the future to criticize the writers' inability to keep this concept in mind. The aunts attempt to help Sabrina but are caught up in myriad of curses after they fail to forward on a chain letter. We discuss how we are also cursed after the loss of Windows XP. Overall, this was an extremely challenging episode to write for and discuss in an audio-only format, but we tried our best and we got the phrase "Hilda bra squirrel nut finger" so we'll count it as a win.

It's the inaugural episode of "Cauldron Talk" featuring everyone's favorite nerd, Curtis Andersen aka Gordie! We talk to him about his experience on the Sabrina set as well as other hit teen shows of the 90s and how special it was to be part of that cultural moment. We also talk about the two other things we have in common (a disdain for Ronald Reagan and asbestos exposures?) and he weighs in on the house cat soul debate from 3.17. We get some fascinating behind-the-scenes stories of the Violent Femmes episode, talk about what Curtis is up to now, and Laura FINALLY gets to ask him about "Work and the Glory." Season 3 Episode 17 is a bittersweet one for us. In "Salem, the Boy" we get some of Curtis Andersen's best work, but we also say goodbye to Gordie. This episode is a wild ride and brings up a lot of tangents, especially about how to explain the sudden house cat "soul" that inhabits Salem's cat body when Salem takes over Gordie's. Is it a cat version of man dough? Is it aliens? Is it a weird immortal cat thing? The aunts get into some ancient Roman hijinks and Laura has to apologize to Skye for making a false promise back in Season 1. Additional questions we're still pondering include: Would Salem be pro-Kennedy? Was Dr. Pepper not loved in the 90s? How old is Salem?

Would you rather date a genie, a Martian, or an enchanted tree? This is just one of the questions raised in our rewatch of Season 3 Episode 16 "Sabrina, the Matchmaker." Cousin Marigold comes for a visit, bringing along the "delightful" Amanda and a new addition named "Aly." Sabrina decides to do her Cupid-ordered matchmaking service by getting Marigold together with a mortal plumber that Sabrina seems weirdly familiar with. Things obviously go awry (Amanda's involved) but at least we get some consistency...from Sabrina Goes to Rome, of all places! Hilda and Zelda also get into a tiff when Hilda's new beau has a striking resemblance to Mr. Kraft, but only physically.  Listen in for discussions about Kesha, Florence and the Machine, zombie chickens, and Walden: The Video Game. Break out the rum and let the pirates out of your basement! It's time to recap Season 3 Episode 15 "Sabrina and the Pirates." We start off strong with a discussion about catnip alcohol and it only gets more nonsensical from there. Sabrina gets fake IDs for her and Valerie so they can sneak into an *NSYNC concert (we don't blame them) but that causes Sabrina's magic to become fake. Hilda and Zelda are trying to rehabilitate pirates that have been trapped in their basement for the past 100 years and Hilda gets stabbed at least twice. And poor Salem has to put the family secret board back together multiple times when it keeps breaking. Eventually Sabrina comes clean about her illegal activity and has her magic restored just in time to save her aunts. Listen to the episode to find out how Skye reacted to the reveal of the family secret board (hint: it doesn't go well) as well as some more SWORD FACTS!

[Mariah Carey voice] It's TIIIIIIIIME! Skye finally finds out why they have a sticky note that says "Mr. Kraft. Wife. Has one." And BOY does Mr. Kraft have a whopper of an ex-wife. In Season 3 Episode 14 "Mrs. Kraft," Mr. Kraft moves in with the Spellmans which is the worst thing that has ever happened to Sabrina, or so it seems to her. Somehow Hilda manages to actually be mature about the whole thing...for a while. Eventually both she and Sabrina snap and zap in Mr. Kraft's ex in an attempt to break up him and Zelda. This plan backfires (of course) when it's revealed that the former Mrs. Kraft is actually a witch! Shenanigans ensue that actually cause us to feel...empathy...for Mr. Kraft??? Besides those horrors, Salem is training a dog to get meat from its butcher owner and we get a few new camera angles, as a treat. At the end, we're still wondering: would we get back with one of our terrible exes to escape the Infinite Horror? (PS: Should we buy frozenslushy.com?)

Do you love Sheryl Lee Ralph? Then have we got an episode for you! In Season 3 Episode 13, "What Price Harvey?," she guest stars as cousin Zsa Zsa and helps Sabrina give Harvey a little extra ambition. This leads Harvey to becoming the ultimate supervillain billionaire who just discovered "THE" internet and Sabrina has to find a way to give him some perspective. While Sabrina's boyfriend is tearing down Westbridge High, the aunts swap personalities for a few days to better understand each other and Salem turns invisible. We also get through some outdated references that clearly the writers inserted from their own youth, ignoring the fact that kids in the 90s would never get it. And we continue to blame Salem for why the world is just *gestures wildly.*

Sabrina ignores her aunts' warning not to cast charitable magic spells. She does so anyway. Chaos ensues, as per usual. This time her target is Valerie. Valerie's mom makes a wish on a wishbone that Valerie would be like Sabrina (harsh!). The wish is granted and pretty soon Valerie has magical powers! Meanwhile, Salem ropes Hilda into a moneymaking scheme involving art that predictably goes awry. Listen in as we "riffle" through Season 3 Episode 12, "Who's So-Called Life Is It Anyway?" (Or is it rifle?) Some questions we ponder: What is Salem's screenplay about? Where did that wishbone come from? Do you remember the PBS show Wishbone? What is art? At the end of the day, Valerie needs therapy and maybe so do we after this episode.

Sabrina erases Christmas. Laura is a reindeer. Skye is a lizard. It's just a normal week here at Something Witchy when we recap Season 3 Episode 11 "Christmas Amnesia." Sabrina is being a Grinch (again?) and this time actually makes Christmas disappear. She has to find a way to bring back the Christmas spirit to those around her or risk losing it forever, just as we've lost Bobunk. Eventually Sabrina realizes that the true meaning of Christmas is spending it with those you love, which is something you can cherish all year long. Laura and Skye start this festive episode off strong with a very wild tangent about Utah! the musical, as well as other Utah-specific media from the 90s. There's also debate on when witches are and are not affected by spells and which lunch meat sandwiches would be served with ketchup on them. So sit back, relax, "take a pill, smoke a joint, drink some alcohol," and enjoy this week's episode.

We're watching a teen sitcom that takes place in 1998 so OF COURSE it's time for an episode about how true beauty is on the inside. Cousin Susie comes to visit in Season 3 Episode 10 "Sabrina and the Beast" and decides Sabrina is too obsessed with appearances. Sabrina has to learn to look deeper as Harvey slowly becomes more beast than man. While this is happening, Salem and Hilda are being attacked by an evil treadmill that takes over the house (also a cautionary tale to avoid AI exercise equipment) and Zelda tries to solve world hunger once and for all. In case that's not enough of a reason to listen, tune in to find out why we said the words "Snaggletooth Cutlass" and "Barnacle Landlubber." Plus learn about the history of the decathlon and get some kudzu chatter.

It's time to figure out what goes on inside Libby's head...literally. It's an episode reminiscent of everyone's favorite Magic School Bus adventure when Sabrina and Salem take a trip up Libby's nose and into her brain in Season 3 Episode 9 "Nobody Nose Libby Like Sabrina Knows Libby." The best way to describe this episode is with the phrase "drippy snot dangle." But we're not just talking about Libby's inner workings. We discuss the theory that all witches are actually alien visitors from another galaxy and the songs we would want to be played for us when we have dementia. Somehow we manage to tie it all together, as always.

Wow, this is such an honor. We'd like to thank the Academy for recognizing our hard work. We'd like to thank all the little people who helped us reach this milestone of recapping 3.8: "And the Sabrina Goes To..." We couldn't have made it here without each and everyone of you. Salem’s latest bad habit spirals out of control in You Bet Your Family when his gambling streak results in Sabrina, Hilda, and Zelda being lost in a poker game to the very shady Diamond Dave. As the Spellman family faces magical servitude, Sabrina races to fix Salem’s mistake before it’s too late. We unpack the episode’s chaos while also sharing our own gambling experiences, diving into medieval illnesses (as one naturally does), and exploring how different witches develop their own unique methods of casting magic. Between magical debts and high-stakes consequences, this episode proves that when Salem bets big, everyone else pays the price.

It’s Halloween in Season 3, Episode 6, “Good Will Haunting,” and Sabrina’s creepy gift from Aunt Beulah (a porcelain Molly Dolly) turns movie night into full monster mayhem. While Harvey, Valerie, and Justin assume it’s just another prank, Sabrina battles a possessed doll unleashing Frankenstein, mummies, and total chaos. Meanwhile, Hilda and Zelda finally attend Aunt Beulah’s 500-year-running Halloween party (this year’s theme: insane asylum), where candy corn cancels magic and brain-switching chickens are somehow involved. We also go on a deep dive of late '60s sketch comedy as we pay tribute to the brilliant guest stars on this episode.

This week we’re flipping out over Season 3, Episode 5: “Pancake Madness.” When Sabrina ignores her aunts’ very dramatic warning about the Spellman family’s dark pancake secret, she quickly discovers they weren’t kidding. What starts as “just one bite” spirals into full-blown breakfast addiction chaos, complete with cafeteria meltdowns, syrup hallucinations, and one extremely unhinged Melissa Joan Hart performance that we absolutely love. Meanwhile, Hilda gets deported to the northern part of the Other Realm (which looks suspiciously Canadian). It’s absurd, it’s chaotic, and it might be one of the most memorable episodes of the season. We talk about the long historical legacy of pancakes (they’re 70,000 years old?!), the Howard Johnson’s reference, and the writing joke about Caroline Rhea’s Canadian roots. Plus, we answer our question of the week: what breakfast food would you be addicted to? Grab your syrup (carefully) and join us for a stack of magical mayhem.

This week on Something Witchy, we’re diving into Season 3, Episode 4: “The Pom Pom Incident,” an episode that firmly earns Sabrina a new title: terrible friend. When Valerie decides she wants to try out for the cheerleading squad, Sabrina’s “helpful” instincts take a sharp left turn into mind manipulation, questionable ethics, and a whole lot of pom poms. We unpack Sabrina’s control issues, Valerie’s very valid desire to try something new, and the episode’s surprisingly thoughtful take on friendship and autonomy. Plus, cousin Mortimer rolls into town as a chaotic witch-gician with a flair for broken appliances, accidental teleportation, and deeply unhelpful family secrets. We also discuss divining rods, weird school hallway posters, Salem’s brief handyman era, and extracurriculuar activities. It’s a packed episode full of 90s nonsense, moral lessons, and at least one cannon mishap.

This week on Something Witchy, Laura and Skye revisit Season 3, Episode 3: “Suspicious Minds,” an episode fueled entirely by jealousy, bad decisions, and one extremely questionable detective hire. When a school assignment pairs Harvey with Libby as a “married couple,” Sabrina insists she’s fine… right up until she hires Roland to spy on them and absolutely spirals. We break down the episode’s noir-inspired detective fantasy and Roland’s many disguises. Plus, we dig into Gordie’s very short-lived marriage to Sabrina, Libby’s relentless boundary-pushing, and the chaos unfolding at the Knoll as everyone ends up spying on each other. Meanwhile, Zelda and Hilda’s jealousy subplot reaches new heights, complete with popcorn spells and a car full of tension. It’s an episode about trust, insecurity, and learning that hiring a private investigator might not be the healthiest relationship choice.

Embarrassment is contagious in Season 3, Episode 2, “Boy Was My Face Red.” When Valerie suffers a mortifying moment in the cafeteria, Sabrina tries to help by casting a spell to erase embarrassment altogether—but, as usual, magic comes with unintended consequences. What starts as a well-meaning attempt to save a friend quickly backfires, transferring the humiliation straight to Sabrina herself. We break down this episode’s many cringe-worthy moments. Along the way, we talk teen insecurity, why embarrassment is a rite of passage, and how sometimes the only way out is straight through. Plus: stretched ears, historical humiliation montages, and the eternal question—why is Libby always lurking?

Season 3 kicks off with big decisions, bigger magic, and one very overdue witch’s license. In "It’s a Mad Mad Mad Mad Season Opener," Sabrina finally earns her witches’ license—or at least part of it. Before she can use it, she learns there’s a catch: she must uncover a long-hidden Spellman family secret, with surprise relatives popping in to “help.” No pressure! Meanwhile, back in the mortal world, Sabrina is juggling being put in charge of the school dance theme, Mr. Kraft’s ever-growing list of opinions, and an ultimatum from Harvey and Dashiell that forces her to finally choose between them. We break down the Other Realm’s DMV-from-hell ceremony, Cousin Doris and her slime-based coping skills, cowboy/fencer/ninja duels in the school hallway, a whale cake, and an online chess rivalry gone very wrong. Plus, we talk season 3 hopes and our own license photo traumas.

We’re wrapping up our Season 2 break with a globe-trotting detour in “Sabrina Goes to Rome.” When Sabrina travels to Italy to unlock a mysterious locket tied to a long-lost aunt, she finds herself juggling ancient magic, a centuries-old love story, and a very messy mortal crush. Along the way, she meets Gwen, an enthusiastic but wildly underqualified witch, gets tangled up with suspicious photographers, and spends an alarming amount of time kissing pigeons (or watching someone else do it). We break down the episode’s ambitious Rome-on-a-soundstage energy, questionable magical decisions, statue-based mishaps, and the surprisingly emotional choice at the heart of Sabrina’s story. It’s a chaotic way to close out our Season 2 break before we head back to Westbridge.

For our second holiday break episode, we step away from Westbridge and into full 2000s ABC Family chaos with Holiday in Handcuffs (2007), starring Melissa Joan Hart and Mario Lopez. This unhinged Christmas rom-com follows Trudie, a woman having a very bad December, who kidnaps a stranger to pose as her boyfriend for the holidays—because obviously that’s the logical solution. We break down the increasingly wild escalation of Trudie’s choices, the deeply uncomfortable family dynamics, the absolute refusal of anyone to believe a man claiming he’s been kidnapped, and the many, many coats Melissa Joan Hart wears throughout the film. We also discuss why this movie feels like it exists in the same cinematic universe as Killing the Competition. It’s messy, darkly funny, and somehow still very festive—perfect for a chaotic holiday break watch.

It’s our first holiday break episode, and instead of a Sabrina the Teenage Witch rewatch, Laura and Skye dive headfirst into the festive chaos of the Netflix holiday movie The Merry Gentlemen. This week, we trade spells for sequins as we follow a Broadway dancer who returns to her small hometown to save her parents’ struggling nightclub by launching an all-male, Christmas-themed dance revue—because of course she does. We break down everything from questionable small-town economics and increasingly elaborate dance montages to shirtless Chad Michael Murray, aggressive garland usage, and the true meaning of “raising $30,000 by Christmas.” Along the way, we ask the important questions: how many tickets would this actually require, why is everyone shirtless immediately, and is this town legally allowed to have this many string lights? Consider this our cozy, chaotic holiday detour—full of festive tropes, lovingly critical commentary, and just enough sincerity to get us through the season. We’ve reached the end of Season 2, which means it’s time to step back, look at the big picture, and rank, roast, and reminisce. It’s the Season 2 penultimate episode, and Sabrina’s latest magical misstep brings us straight into intergalactic chaos. In Rumor Mill, Sabrina takes a shortcut on her Other Realm community service assignment after being recruited by Bobby Calzone to work at the literal rumor mill—where gossip isn’t just entertaining, it’s magically consequential. Unfortunately, she and returning guest Dashiell get a little too carried away writing rumors about people they actually know… and suddenly everything becomes real in Westbridge. That means Libby gets evicted, Mr. Kraft and Ms. Quick become a PDA-heavy couple, Salem becomes a full-blown mob boss, Harvey is mysteriously pregnant, and the Spellman aunt road trip ends with a full-on UFO abduction. When Sabrina’s latest witch’s license test requires her to brew an animal transformation potion, things take a turn for the wild—literally—after Valerie and Libby end up as zebras roaming Animal Kingdom. Meanwhile, Hilda and Zelda discover a “prehistoric” surprise on their paleontology excursion, and Salem lives his best resort life. In this episode, Laura and Skye talk Disney parks (and which rides are actually worth the wait), TGIF’s obsession with crossover trips, and our love for Disney cats.

In Season 2, Episode 22 of Sabrina the Teenage Witch, “Quiz Show,” Sabrina finally learns the importance of her Quizmaster — but only after she accidentally gets him fired. While Zelda returns to the classroom as a substitute chemistry teacher (and Libby might actually learn something?!), Sabrina struggles to master her elemental magic, balance her attitude, and untangle her magical mentorship drama. This week on Something Witchy, Laura and Skye rewatch Sabrina the Teenage Witch Season 2, Episode 20: “My Nightmare, the Car.” Sabrina finally gets the car she’s been begging for — but, in true Other Realm fashion, it’s a little more talkative (and possessive) than she bargained for. As Sabrina and Valerie’s car-sharing arrangement crashes and burns, chaos hits the Spellman house when a magical audit goes wrong and the family accountant goes rogue. Plus, our hosts detour into discussions about French tacos, their first cars, and whether halberds are underrated as a form of self-defense.

Things are getting unstable in Westbridge—literally! In Season 2, Episode 19: “When Teens Collide,” a burst of sunspots causes chaos in the mortal and witch worlds alike. Sabrina and Libby accidentally swap personalities, turning Sabrina into the school’s new mean girl and Libby into… a sweetheart?! Meanwhile, the aunts deal with a black hole in the kitchen sink, a rogue string trio, and yet another trial in the Other Realm. When Harvey signs Sabrina, Valerie, and himself up for a battle of the bands, there’s just one small problem: they can’t actually play. The spell works a little too well, though, and soon egos and friendships are on the line. Meanwhile, Hilda takes a gig as a fiddler, Zelda faces off with a rival scientist, and Salem enjoys the drama from the sidelines. Oh, and did we mention the Backstreet Boys stop by?

It’s Valentine’s season in Westbridge, and love is in the air—sort of. In Sabrina the Teenage Witch Season 2, Episode 17, “The Equalizer,” Sabrina learns that bending the rules of magic comes with a price when Roland the troll returns as a magical “Equalizer” and literally steals her heart. Meanwhile, Cupid is down bad after heartbreak, Zelda and Hilda scramble for dates to the school dance, and Mr. Kraft causing trouble. We unpack the chaos of magical consequences and debate just how many times Roland needs to be told “no.”

In Sabrina and the Beanstalk (Season 2, Episode 16), Sabrina’s last-minute spellwork grows way out of control when a beanstalk sprouts in the Spellman yard, Harvey gets kidnapped by a wicked witch (guest star Shelley Long), and the whole thing turns into a magical mess straight out of a fairy tale. Laura and Skye dig into the episode’s chaos, from Salem’s fear of heights to why Harvey really needs to stop eating suspicious food at Sabrina’s house. To set things right, Sabrina has to piece Libby back together—literally and figuratively—while discovering some surprising truths about her frenemy’s life. Meanwhile, Hilda and Salem’s get-rich-quick scheme with Zelda’s “miracle” formula spirals out of control, leading to slime, sibling squabbles, and toaster chaos. Join us as we break down the puzzles, the lessons in compassion, and the float that proves democracy really is fragile.

This week we’re diving into Little Big Kraft (Season 2, Ep. 13), where Sabrina decides that Mr. Kraft is way too uptight and whips up a potion to make him act younger. What starts as a harmless prank quickly spirals when a little caffeine turns the spell into chaos, and suddenly the halls of Westbridge High are falling apart under the “leadership” of a childlike vice principal. Meanwhile, Hilda finds herself falling even harder for Kraft in his youthful state, and Zelda has to remind Sabrina—again—why you don’t mess with people’s personalities.

It’s Christmas in Westbridge, and Sabrina is learning the hard way that the holiday season isn’t just about presents. In Season 2, Episode 12, Sabrina Claus, our favorite teenage witch comes down with a magical case of “ego-titis” and ends up face-to-face with none other than Santa himself—though he goes by Bob (played by Cheers’ John Ratzenberger). When Bob gets injured, Sabrina has to fill in and take on the role of delivering Christmas magic to the world, whether she’s ready or not. We dig into Sabrina’s struggle to rediscover the true meaning of Christmas, the sheer chaos of the Spellman holiday décor, Salem’s endless holiday snark, and a very special musical cameo from Johnny Mathis. Plus, we talk about the wild clothing options, the episode’s surprising shout out to Utah, and how we still don't know where Sabrina and Harvey's relationship is.

In Season 2 Episode 11 "Oh What a Tangled Spell She Weaves," Sabrina’s sloppy spellcasting spirals out of control—turning antique cabinets brand new, shrinking Salem into a kitten, and even sending her aunts straight into Merlin’s castle. While Valerie gets a magical efficiency boost at her new pizza job and Harvey undergoes a few unintended changes of his own, Sabrina learns the hard way that vague incantations have very real consequences. With no “undo” spells to save her, she has to clean up the chaos before her friends freeze, burn, or get stuck in medieval times forever.
