Uniformity vs. Unity
Unity does not mean sameness. In this Mother’s Day message, Kristi Johnson opens our series Where the Church Gets It Wrong by exploring Paul’s call in Ephesians 4 to live as one body while honoring the different gifts, callings, and roles God gives each of us. The church becomes stronger not when everyone looks alike, but when every piece of the mosaic comes together in Christ. Guiding Question: What would it look like to pursue unity without asking everyone to become the same? The Art of Forgiving
As we wrap up Won’t You Be My Neighbor, we take on one of the hardest parts of living in community: forgiveness. In this message, we explore what forgiveness really means—and what it doesn’t. Forgiveness is not about ignoring harm or pretending everything is okay. It’s about stepping into the freedom God offers, even when it’s difficult. Where might God be inviting you to begin that process today? Scripture: Colossians 3:12–14 Guiding Question: Who do you need to forgive—and what is one step you can take toward that this week? #forgiveness #grace #reconciliation #faithpractice #mosaicumc #mosaicumctx #cypresstx #cyfair Connect and Find Support at Mosaic UMC Subscribe for more messages and updates from Mosaic UMC Website: https://www.mosaicumctx.org Join us for worship every Sunday at 10:30 AM Location: Bleyl Middle School, Cypress, TX If you need prayer, let us know here: https://www.mosaicumctx.org/prayer-requests

The Art of Focusing
In week three of Won’t You Be My Neighbor, we explore The Art of Focusing. When life feels full of people, responsibilities, and expectations, it’s easy to feel stretched thin. But Jesus models a different way—one that invites us to invest deeply in a few meaningful relationships instead of trying to do everything for everyone. Who might God be calling you to focus on right now? Scripture: Matthew 17:1–8 Guiding Question: Who are the few people God is inviting you to invest in deeply, and what is one step you can take this week toward that relationship? #neighboring #community #discipleship #faithpractice #mosaicumc #mosaicumctx #cypresstx #cyfair Connect and Find Support at Mosaic UMC Subscribe for more messages and updates from Mosaic UMC Website: https://www.mosaicumctx.org Join us for worship every Sunday at 10:30 AM Location: Bleyl Middle School, Cypress, TX If you need prayer, let us know here: https://www.mosaicumctx.org/prayer-requests

The Art of Setting Boundaries/Confirmation
In week two of Won’t You Be My Neighbor, we explore The Art of Setting Boundaries. Through Scripture and real-life experience, we’re reminded that boundaries aren’t barriers to connection—they’re what make healthy, lasting relationships possible. Where might God be inviting you to say yes… and where do you need to say no? Scripture: Psalm 16:6 Guiding Question: What boundaries in your life help you stay rooted in God, and which ones need to be re-evaluated? #boundaries #neighboring #faithpractice #christiancommunity #mosaicumc #mosaicumctx #cypresstx #cyfair Connect and Find Support at Mosaic UMC Subscribe for more messages and updates from Mosaic UMC Website: https://www.mosaicumctx.org Join us for worship every Sunday at 10:30 AM Location: Bleyl Middle School, Cypress, TX If you need prayer, let us know here: https://www.mosaicumctx.org/prayer-requests

The Art of Receiving
This week, we begin our new series Won’t You Be My Neighbor by exploring The Art of Receiving. Through the story of Mary and Martha, we see how hard it can be to accept help—and how often we miss what matters most because of it. Where in your life might God be inviting you to receive instead of striving? Scripture: Luke 10:38–42 Guiding Question: Where is it hardest for you to receive help—from God or from others? #neighboring #receivinghelp #faithpractice #christiancommunity #mosaicumc #mosaicumctx #cypresstx #cyfair Connect and Find Support at Mosaic UMC Subscribe for more messages and updates from Mosaic UMC Website: https://www.mosaicumctx.org Join us for worship every Sunday at 10:30 AM Location: Bleyl Middle School, Cypress, TX If you need prayer, let us know here: https://www.mosaicumctx.org/prayer-requests

Easter Sunrise
At our Sunrise Service, Bryce Erwin reflects on the resurrection through the image of an earthquake—a moment where God’s power breaks in and changes everything. In Matthew’s account, the ground shakes not in fear, but in hope, signaling that death does not get the final word. If the resurrection shakes the world, how might it shake something in us—moving us toward love, courage, and a life that reflects Jesus? Easter | Power of the Resurrection
On Easter Sunday, Rev. Shuler Sitsch invites us to ask two honest questions: Why are you here, and what are you searching for? Through Matthew’s resurrection story, we’re reminded that the women went to the tomb looking for death, only to be told they were searching in the wrong place. Easter reframes everything, showing us that in Christ, we no longer have to search for hope, peace, or worth in places that cannot give life. What if the life you’ve been searching for isn’t found where you’ve been looking, but in the risen Christ who meets you with joy, purpose, and hope? Power of the Name
On Palm Sunday, Rev. Shuler Sitsch reflects on Mark 11 and the significance of Jesus entering Jerusalem in the name of the Lord. This sermon explores how names carry meaning, identity, and authority, and how the name of Jesus reveals both who God is and how we are called to live. As the crowd cries “Hosanna,” we are reminded that calling on Jesus’ name is not just praise, but a plea for transformation, shaping our prayers, our actions, and the way we love others. How are you calling on the name of Jesus in your life, and does the way you live reflect the One you proclaim? Power of Defeating Evil
In week five of The Power of the Christ, erik henson reflects on Mark 5 and Jesus’ encounter with the man living among the tombs. This sermon explores how Christ’s power over evil is revealed not just in dramatic deliverance, but in restoration, dignity, and new identity. As Jesus sends the healed man back into his community to tell his story, we are reminded that God still defeats evil through transformed lives, courageous witness, and invitations that make room for others at the table. Where might God be calling you to resist the voices that distort identity, restore what has been broken, and share your story so someone else can find new life? Power of Miracles
In week four of The Power of the Christ, Rev. Shuler Sitsch reflects on Matthew 14 and the moment Jesus walks on water. This sermon explores how Christ’s miracles are not just signs of divine power, but glimpses of the world God is still bringing into being. As Peter steps out of the boat in faith, we are reminded that God often meets us in bold, risky obedience and does what only God can do. Where might God be inviting you to step out in faith, trust more deeply, and wade into the waters expecting a miracle? Power of Restoration
In week three of our Lenten series, The Power of Christ, Rev. Whitney Peper reflects on Luke 7:11–17 and the moment Jesus meets a grieving widow in Nain. In a scene marked by sorrow, uncertainty, and loss, Jesus responds with compassion and restores what seemed gone forever. This sermon reminds us that Christ’s power is not only seen in dramatic moments, but also in the tender ways he meets people in their grief, their fear, and their deepest need with hope and restoration. Power of Forgiveness
The Power of the Christ | The Power of Forgiveness | Rev. Shuler Sitsch | March 1, 2026 In week two of our Lenten series, The Power of the Christ, Rev. Shuler explores the power of forgiveness through John 8:1–11, where Jesus meets a woman brought forward for condemnation and instead calls everyone to lay down their stones. Forgiveness does not ignore harm or pretend sin is not real, but it begins with honest awareness of our own brokenness and opens the door to healing, freedom, and new life. In a world that keeps picking up stones, Jesus shows us a better way. What is one step you can take this week toward forgiveness, whether asking God, asking someone else, or offering it to someone in your life? Power of Healing
As we begin our Lenten series, The Power of Christ, Rev. Whitney reflects on Jesus healing the man with a skin disease in Matthew 8. This story reveals a power rooted not in spectacle, but in love that moves toward the broken. Through a single, compassionate touch, Jesus restores not only a body but a life, reminding us that nothing can separate us from his healing love. Becoming Agents of Tenderness
What does it actually look like to practice tenderness in a fractured world? In the final week of The Whole Language, Rev. Shuler turns to Micah 6:8 and invites us to move from seeing through the lens of sacred worth to doing the concrete work of justice, loving kindness, and walking humbly with God. This sermon challenges us to become agents of extravagant tenderness in a world marked by division, reminding us that everyone is unshakably good and that we belong to one another. If everyone is unshakably good in the eyes of God, how might that reshape the way you act this week? Recognizing the Sacredness of One Another
The Whole Language | Recognizing the Sacredness of One Another | Rev. Shuler Sitsch | February 8, 2026 What would change if we truly believed that we and our neighbors are made with sacred worth? In this sermon, Rev. Shuler invites us into the “whole language” of extravagant tenderness, challenging us to see ourselves and others through the lens of God’s abiding presence and love. Drawing on Psalm 139 and the witness of Father Gregory Boyle, this message calls us to begin the work of tenderness by first recognizing the sacredness God has placed within every person. How might your relationships shift if you practiced seeing yourself and others as sacred in God’s eyes? Sent to Invite Others Home
Sent | Sent to Invite Others Home | Rev. Shuler Sitsch | February 1, 2026 What does it really mean to invite someone into faith, community, and belonging? In the final week of our Sent series, Rev. Shuler reflects on Jesus’ simple but powerful invitation, “Come and see,” and how that open-handed call still shapes the way we invite others into the life of the church. This sermon reminds us that the work of the gospel is always about welcoming others home and continuing to build a community where all truly belong. Sent to Create Belonging
What if the Great Commission isn’t just “go make disciples” but also “go make room”? Rev. Whitney connects Jesus’ training of the disciples to the way we’re formed and then sent, and she reframes disciple-making as something rooted in belonging. Jesus didn’t wait for people to have perfect theology before welcoming them. He saw them, called them close, and made space for them to belong, and belief often grew from there. This sermon lifts up the “belonging before believing” rhythm as deeply biblical and surprisingly aligned with Mosaic’s values: inspiring inclusion, cultivating authentic community, and joyfully serving with our neighbors. The invitation is simple and challenging: be the kind of disciples who help people know they belong to God and in the community of faith, so that when belief comes, they’re already home. Sent to Give Hope
Sent | Sent to Give Hope | Rev. Shuler Sitsch | January 11, 2026 Hope isn’t meant to stay bottled up like “hot water you only notice when it’s gone.” In week two of Sent, Rev. Shuler reminds us that in Christ we are made new: the old has passed away, and new life has come. That’s not just good news for us, it’s hope we’re sent to share. This message invites us to become people who extend real, relational invitations: grounded in care, shaped by joy, and honest with vulnerability. The Sending God
What does it mean to worship a sending God? As we begin a new year and a new sermon series, Rev. Shuler invites us to wrestle with a simple but challenging question: when was the last time you invited someone to church? Drawing from Jesus’ post-resurrection appearance in John’s Gospel, this message reminds us that following Jesus has always meant being sent into a closed and fearful world with peace, love, and an open invitation to belong. God Through Us
As we close the Incarnate series, Rev. Whitney invites us to reflect on how God not only comes to be with us and in us, but works through us. Through Jesus’ words to Philip, we are reminded that God is not distant or hidden, but made visible through Christ and now revealed in how we live, love, forgive, and serve. This message challenges us to enter a new season of willingness, allowing God to redirect our lives so that others may encounter God through us. On this holy night, Pastor Shuler reflects on the familiar Christmas story through the lens of fear and light. From the shepherds’ first encounter with the angels to our own quiet anxieties, Christmas reminds us that God does not deny the darkness, but enters it. In the birth of Jesus, we hear the enduring promise spoken again and again in Scripture: do not be afraid, for God is with us and the light will not be overcome. Our Values: Joyful Service with Our Neighbors | Rev. Who Is My Neighbor?
Love Anyway | Who Is My Neighbor? | Rev. Whitney Peper | October 26, 2025 In a world that draws hard lines, Jesus redraws them with mercy. This message explores the Good Samaritan and how neighbor-love means crossing boundaries, noticing need, and acting with costly compassion—no exceptions. Who is God putting on your path this week, and how can you “go and do likewise”? Luke 10:25–37 #LoveAnyway #mosaicumc #mosaicumctx #cypresstx #cyfair 🔔 Subscribe for weekly sermons and more. Faith Over Fear
Fear is powerful—it isolates, divides, and builds walls between us. But in Faith Over Fear, Pastor Shuler reminds us that God’s perfect love casts out fear and transforms the way we see others, ourselves, and the world. When love—not fear—drives our choices, the walls around us fall, and tables of connection begin to form. What fear has been driving your life lately, and how might you let perfect love take the wheel instead? 1 John 4:7–21 #LoveAnyway #FaithOverFear #mosaicumc #mosaicumctx #cypresstx #cyfair 🔔 Subscribe for weekly sermons and more. Love Anyway
Yard signs are small, but they can carry a heavy weight. In a world that tells us to divide into “us” and “them,” Jesus calls us to something harder—and holier. In this first message of Love Anyway, Pastor Shuler challenges us to see the image of God in everyone, pray for those we disagree with, and resist letting hate distort our hearts. Where do you most feel the pull toward “us vs. them,” and what would it look like to love anyway? Physical Wellness
Your body isn’t an afterthought—it’s a temple of the Holy Spirit. In the finale of our Made Well series, Pastor Shuler explores why physical wellness matters to God and how small, sustainable practices help us honor God with our bodies (1 Corinthians 6:19–20). Big ideas Your body is a dwelling place for the Holy Spirit—not a project to loathe or ignore. Wellness starts small: consistent, modest steps beat unsustainable bursts. What we eat, how we move, how we sleep, and keeping Sabbath are acts of worship. Listen for the whispers before your body has to scream. Scripture: 1 Corinthians 6:19–20 Series: Made Well (Week 4: Physical Wellness) Try this week Food: Plan 3 simple, unprocessed meals; practice gratitude before eating. Movement: 20 minutes/day of walking (or 11 mins vigorous). Put it on the calendar. Sleep: Set a bedtime alarm; avoid screens 45 minutes before lights out. Sabbath: Block 2–4 screen-free hours to delight in God (read, create, be outdoors). Reflection prompt: What one physical habit—started small this week—would most honor God with your body? 🎧 Faith & Pieces Podcast: Midweek companion episode with Stacy McDaniel on practical physical wellness. #MadeWell #PhysicalWellness #TempleOfTheHolySpirit #MosaicUMC #CypressTX 🔔 Subscribe for weekly sermons & resources. Mental Wellness
Made Well | Mental Wellness | Rev. Whitney Peper | September 28, 2025 When life feels like a tsunami—loud, chaotic, and eroding the ground beneath you—where do you turn? Psalm 46 names God not as the giver of refuge and strength, but as our Refuge and Strength. Rev. Whitney shares her own journey through layered loss, diagnosis limbo, and how practices like counseling, Stephen Ministry, community, prayer, and even running created space to “be still” with God in the storm. Spiritual Wellness
When life “shuffles” a song you didn’t ask for, how do you stay rooted in God? In Week 2 of Made Well, Rev. Shuler unpacks Colossians 3:16–17 and offers a simple, sturdy framework for spiritual wellness—when God feels close and when God feels distant. Big ideas Let the word dwell in you richly — personal practices (Scripture, prayer, silence, journaling, fasting from distractions, walking in creation). Grow in community — teach and encourage one another; make worship and small groups a priority. Do everything in Jesus’ name — start small, build habits, live with mercy, empathy, and love. Reflection prompt: What one small habit will you add this week to help God’s word dwell in you? The Lord’s Table
What happens when we gather around the Lord’s Table? In this sermon, ministry intern erik unpacks how Jesus took God’s promise and turned it into a gift—transforming covenant into sacrament. Communion isn’t about perfection, it’s about presence. At this table, we meet Jesus, experience grace, and remember that we are not called to be perfect—we are called perfectly loved. Where do you most need to be reminded that you are perfectly loved by God? Mark 14:12–26 #LordsTable #Communion #mosaicumc #mosaicumctx #cypresstx #cyfair 🔔 Subscribe for weekly sermons and more. We Sit at the Table Together in Community
From Bedouin hospitality at the foot of Mount Sinai to the messy, well-loved family table at home, Rev. Whitney Peper shows how God’s table is more than a place to eat—it’s where a Spirit-formed family is created. In Christ, our primary identity is “child of God,” and every other label becomes secondary. No ranks. No caste. No first-class seats. Just one family gathered by grace. Having Humility at the Table
Take Your Seat | Having Humility at the Table | Rev. Shuler Sitsch | August 24, 2025 What posture do we bring to God’s table? In this message, Rev. Shuler Sitsch explores Jesus’ words in Mark 10 and the disciples’ struggle with power, privilege, and status. True greatness in God’s kingdom isn’t about climbing higher—it’s about choosing humility, practicing mercy, and serving others. The way of Jesus is the way of downward mobility, where strength is found in lifting others up. Where in your life is Jesus calling you to practice more humility? Everyone Has A Seat at the Table
Who belongs at God’s table? In this Back-to-School Sunday message, Rev. Shuler Sitsch uses a parable from Luke 14 to reveal Jesus’ heart for an ever-expanding table—one where the poor, the overlooked, and the excluded find a seat. This isn’t just about hospitality; it’s about a radical, all-inclusive welcome. We are called not only to sit at the table but to invite and compel others to join, so the house of God is full. Who hasn’t arrived at the table yet—and how will you invite them? Luke 14:15–24
