Equestrian Mum Diaries: Episode 5 - My Postpartum Fitness with Sarah Elebert

In this episode of Equestrian Mum Diaries, I share my personal experience of navigating my postpartum body and fitness after having three children - and how each journey has looked completely different. This is a very honest and personal reflection on what worked for me, what didn’t, and what I’ve learned the third time around. From returning to riding, to rebuilding strength, to finding a routine that actually fits into life with young children - this episode is about doing things in a way that feels supportive rather than pressured.I talk about the importance of consistency over intensity, listening to your body, and letting go of timelines, expectations, and comparisons. It’s not about “bouncing back” — it’s about slowly finding your way back to feeling strong, capable, and like yourself again. If you’re in a postpartum season, or finding your way back to movement, this is a gentle reminder to take the pressure off and meet yourself where you are.If this episode resonates with you, I’d love to hear from you.You can connect with me on Instagram: @sarahelebertOr follow Equitas at @equitasworldwideChat soon,Sarah x

Equestrian Mum Diaries: Episode 4 - The Fear of Being Alone with Sarah Elebert

In this episode of Equestrian Mum Diaries, I talk about something I didn’t expect to feel as strongly as I did — the fear of being alone with my children. As equestrians, we’re often independent, capable, and used to carrying responsibility. We’re comfortable in our own company, used to caring for others, and making decisions every day. But motherhood brought a very different kind of responsibility, and with it, a level of vulnerability I hadn’t anticipated. In this short and honest episode, I share my experience of those early days of parenting, the pressure of feeling solely responsible, and how that can put your nervous system on high alert. I also talk about the need for shared responsibility, the comfort of having people around, and how my confidence has grown over time. This is a gentle reminder that if you’ve ever felt overwhelmed or unsure in those moments — you are not alone, and it is more normal than we often allow ourselves to believe. If this episode resonates with you, I’d love to hear from you.You can connect with me on Instagram: @sarahelebertOr follow Equitas at @equitasworldwideChat soon,Sarah x

Jackie Potts - International Grooms Association

In this episode, I’m joined by Jackie Potts from the International Grooms Association for an honest conversation about life behind the scenes in top-level equestrian sport.Jackie is a highly experienced international groom, having spent 33 years as a member of William Fox-Pitt’s team, and more recently Japanese rider, Kazuma Tomoto.Jackie brings a huge amount of lived knowledge about the realities of grooming at the highest level. We talk about safeguarding within the sport, the standards of accommodation grooms are given when travelling to events, and the ongoing conversation around room sharing and welfare for grooms working internationally. Jackie also explains the work the International Grooms Association (IGA) is doing to improve conditions across the industry — including having IGA representatives present at events, so grooms have someone they can speak to or confide in if they need support. We also discuss the mental health challenges that can come with such an isolating and demanding job, the importance of fair working environments, and why grooming should be recognised and supported as a professional career in its own right. It’s a thoughtful and insightful conversation about the people who work tirelessly behind the scenes to keep the sport running. You can learn more about the International Grooms Association here:International Grooms Association

I talk about the mental load of motherhood, the pressure of trying to hold everything together, and how easy it can be to lose yourself somewhere in the middle of it all.As an equestrian mum, there is often so much to juggle - children, horses, home, work, and the constant feeling that you should be doing more. This is a honest conversation about that reality, and a reminder that our mental health matters too.I hope you enjoy and perhaps take something from it.You can connect with me via Instagram @sarahelebertChat soon,Sarah x

Double D's Live Podcast Ep 22: Stepping back, not down

This week was a touch bittersweet as it's the final record before @sarahelebert_eventing goes on her official maternity leave! We made the absolute most of it though and had a proper catch up on our week's, Muir getting in a muddle in the field with her horses, Sarah's horses all happy and she's already thinking how lovely it will be to get back in the saddle. Also chatting about horse shopping again and some of the sales video that leave alot to be desired!😅The main topics somewhat blended this week as we looked at support for mothers within the industry - where we mention a few UK based supports and chatted through briefly if there is something more that can be done here 🤔Sarah also spoke about how she is "Preparing to Pause" and with an article due out next week, takes a moment to really appreciate the teams she has around her #equity 🙌🏻We had fun sharing our last few photos from our camera role and our rides and consisted of getting outside with friends (swings and holidays anyone?) as well as community spirit and not knowing if you are going to traumatise or educate your child! 🥵🤣Thank you as always to those tuning in and for the lovely feedback we receive each week. *Bonus Livestream* - Michelle from "A Never Ending Improvement" on Toxic Masculinity & Misogyny

Tonight’s Live: A Conversation That Needed to Happen"This morning I wrote something I felt needed to be written. It touched a nerve—about toxic masculinity, misogyny, and the kind of culture too many of us are still breathing in.Then I rang @aneverendingimprovement - my sister Michelle. She’s a guide to me in an awful lot of what I do.She’s a psychotherapist, a counsellor, and the sharpest mind I know when it comes to understanding people. She sees straight through the noise and gets right to the root of what’s really going on. We started pulling apart the patterns—why we’re here, why it keeps happening, and what needs to shift. And somewhere in that conversation, I said—we need to talk about this live. Not for debate. Not for drama. But because I genuinely believe people need to hear it—men and women. It might open your mind. It might hit a nerve. But it’ll make you think.Join us tonight for a raw, real, and necessary conversation. Bring your curiosity. Bring your discomfort. Bring your courage."Shane.

Double D's Live Podcast Ep 12

Loved this chat, a mixture of serious, important topics with some not so serious ones thrown in... We are in the middle of 16 days of Activism #NOEXCUSE so this was a strong talking point this evening, it's tough on all sides but the most important thing is that the conversation are had and education is instilled 💪🏻  Another important topic was when Muir had a recent wobble and she speaks about how she is helping to see herself through it #itsoknottobeok  Other topics, (just as important 😜), how do you like your eggs, oat milk and rude people 🤣  Thank you for sticking with us and we navigate busy schedules and we look forward to seeing you all next week.  Massive thank you again to this week's episode sponsor, @arkequine and with thanks to them, some lovely gifts will be making their way to @lisadoc1 🎉🎉🎉 M&S xx #doubledslivepodcast #femaleequestrians #equestrianpodcast

Equitas Double D's Ep 4: Nicknames, Tattoos, Funny falls and another video we don't want to see.

The evening was a near miss for Sarah but herself and Muireann got to catch up, and share your funny fall stories... Makes us wonder what kind of people are equestrians at all ?!🤣  Thank you to everyone who shared and / or joined live! As usual they finished with their "Rides & Wrongs " of the week to include nails, new schedules, being too old for Snapchat and the release of another terrible video of horse abuse in our sport 😔 You can watch this back on YouTube or listen on Spotify and as always, if you have a topic that you would like us to discuss, just let us know!  Join us again next Tuesday at 8pm, M & S  (or should we say D&D?🤪)  #doubledslivepodcast #theequitaspodcast
