Wānaka's New Favourite? | Little Street Kitchen Review

Last night Hannah and I headed along to Little Street Kitchen in Wānaka for a belated birthday dinner, and it turned into one of the best dining experiences we've had in a long time. From the moment we walked through the door, the service was exceptional. The team knew the menu inside out, offered great recommendations, and made us feel welcome from the start. We kicked things off with a couple of share plates, including crispy buffalo chicken and a flavour-packed bao bun, before moving on to the mains. The standout dish of the night? Without a doubt, the beer and cheese soup. The best way I can describe it is this: imagine French onion soup and poutine gravy having a baby. Rich, thick, comforting and loaded with flavour. It's the kind of dish you'll still be thinking about the next day. The pork belly fried rice was another winner. Tender pork, great texture, and one of those meals where every mouthful makes you want another. In this episode, I share my honest thoughts on the food, service, atmosphere, and why Little Street Kitchen is quickly becoming one of my favourite spots in town. If you're looking for a great place to celebrate a special occasion, catch up with mates, or simply enjoy a fantastic meal in Wānaka, this one's for you. 🍻🍴🎉See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

40 Hours to Change Lives - World Vision 40 Hour Challenge is back

The World Vision 40 Hour Challenge is back, and it all kicks off today. For more than 50 years, young New Zealanders have been stepping up to take part in one of the country's most recognised fundraising challenges, giving up something they love or taking on a challenge for 40 hours to help communities facing hardship around the world. This year, participants are raising money to support children and families in the Solomon Islands, where climate change and food insecurity are making it harder for many communities to access nutritious food and build a secure future. Joining us on the podcast is Tim Pamphlett, Senior Schools Partnership Manager at World Vision, to explain how the challenge works, why it's still so relevant after five decades, and the creative ways young people are getting involved in 2026. We chat about everything from going offline for 40 hours and completing acts of kindness, through to some of the standout fundraising efforts happening in schools around the country. Tim also shares why getting involved in causes like this helps build empathy, leadership, and a stronger sense of community among young New Zealanders. If you've ever wondered how a simple challenge can create real change, this is a conversation worth hearing. Listen now to find out how you can support the World Vision 40 Hour Challenge this weekend and help make a difference.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
