    Love

It’s dangerous when Christian’s get so caught up in apologetics, and we forget about evangelism. Yes we are called to defend the faith and hold others accountable- but there’s a way do it that’s more effective than “gotcha” moments and winning arguments. And that’s with LOVE.

    Holy Moments - Holy Habits

I just finished Mathew Kelly’s book “Holy Moments,” and I LOVED it. I love finding great Christian authors and reading their books in addition to the Bible - this book and another one he wrote has helped me and I know they can help others too!! So I have a few free copies, let me know if you’re interested and I will send them out. I really loved how Kelly focused on mastering the moment of decision - and creating small holy moments that shape your life into something beautiful and amazing!! Because as a Christian Habits Coach, this is so on brand with what The Refinery Movement does, just with a focus on strength training and nutrition, but this can be used for any aspect in your life. I share some of the beginning of his book in this podcast! Check it out❤️

    Kindness

I recorded this episode on Palm Sunday 2026 and it was inspired by father Mike Schmitz’ homily. As I entered Holy Week this year - I’ve been reflecting on the kindness Jesus had, and how  the root of this virtue is sacrificial love. This one is a shorter minipod - but I just needed to share this because it really moved me. Praying it helps others become more like Jesus!

Life & Living with Godly Habits | The One Habit That Changes Everything

What if the life you’re living right now is simply the result of the habits you’ve been practicing? In this episode, we zoom out and talk about life itself—why we’re here, how quickly it passes, and what it actually means to live with intention in light of eternity. Because the truth is… we are not just filling time. We are stewarding it.Your habits aren’t small. They are shaping who you are becoming. And while there are many habits that can improve your life, there is one that will transform everything—your thoughts, your peace, your purpose, and your direction:Prayer. We break down why prayer is the anchor habit that aligns your life with God, renews your mind, and shifts your perspective from temporary to eternal. You’ll also learn the two things required to retrain your brain—so you can stop living in negativity, stop wasting your time, and start walking in clarity, purpose, and joy.Because this life? It’s a blink of an eye.And eternity is real.We talk about developing a healthy reverence for God—not out of fear that paralyzes, but a fear that awakens you to truth: death, heaven, hell, and the weight of how you choose to live today. And to close, we anchor everything in two powerful virtues that will draw you closer to God and carry you through any season:Discipline and perseverance. This episode will challenge you, ground you, and call you higher. You don’t need a perfect life. You need Godly habits.I got a lot of this content actually from an awesome book I’m reading, 33 Days Til Eucharistic Glory, and the Bible in A year Podcast by father Mike! Hope y’all enjoy and hope this helps get you closer to God!

Rest intervals part 2: the mindset behind not being able to slow down

Most women have been taught to approach fitness the same way they approach life in a hustle culture—go faster, burn more, never slow down. But that’s not the design God gave us.In this episode, AJ breaks down the surprising power of rest intervals—not just in your workouts, but in the way you approach your entire life.Starting with the creation story, we explore how God built a rhythm of work and rest into the very fabric of the world. Adam and Eve’s first full day wasn’t spent grinding—it was spent resting with God. From the very beginning, humanity was designed to work from rest, not for rest.AJ then connects that bigger picture to the modern fitness culture many women are trapped in:constant cardio, chasing exhaustion, and believing that sweating more means achieving more. But when it comes to building strength, muscle, and long-term health, rest is not laziness—it’s strategy. In this episode you’ll learn:• Why rest intervals are essential for building lean muscle• The physiological reason strength training requires recovery between sets• Why “cardio bunny” culture keeps women stuck in burnout cycles• How discipline in the gym mirrors spiritual discipline in life• How God’s design for rhythms of work and rest leads to greater strength—physically and spirituallyIf you’ve ever felt guilty for slowing down in your workouts—or in your life—this episode will challenge the way you think about effort, discipline, and rest.Because sometimes the most powerful thing you can do… is pause, recover, and prepare for the next rep.If you need knowledge about how the different energy systems work and how long to actually rest, check out my other episode about rest intervals!!

The Discipline of Belief: Stop Waiting, Start Moving

So many women never start the thing God placed on their heart because they’re waiting for it to be perfect. But faith rarely looks polished at the beginning. In this episode, AJ shares the powerful truth that every meaningful calling starts messy. From flipping off picnic tables in the park to competing on one of the best acrobatics teams in the nation… and now building a faith-driven coaching business and app — the journey has been full of trial, error, refinement, and growth. You’ll hear how God uses imperfect beginnings to shape discipline, resilience, and purpose.AJ also dives into:• Why failure is actually part of God’s refining process• What Ruth, and Esther teach us about courageous faith• Why we are called to live by faith, not by sight• The role of discipline, habits, and renewing your mind• How God establishes your steps when you move in obedienceIf you’ve been hesitating to start something because you feel unprepared, this episode will challenge you to stop waiting for perfect conditions and start moving in faith.God doesn’t need perfection to begin working in your life.He just needs your yes.Scripture referenced in this episode:2 Corinthians 5:7Proverbs 16:92 Corinthians 10:52 Timothy 1:7If this episode encouraged you, share it with a friend who needs the reminder that faith often starts messy. And if you’re ready to build stronger habits in your faith, fitness, and mindset, come join us inside The Refinery Movement App where women are learning to live strong, disciplined, and refined lives together.

Extreme & Enslaved: When ‘Healthy’ Is Actually Bondage

This episode is for the women who don’t struggle with laziness… they struggle with extremes. The ones who overtrain.Under-eat.Track every gram.Spiral when the plan changes.Call it “discipline” — but deep down know it feels like bondage. If anyone understands extremes, it’s me.I was diagnosed with severe OCD at 7 years old. I counted everything — steps, chews, toothbrush strokes, the direction I turned. I believed if I could control enough, I could feel safe. That mindset didn’t disappear when I grew up. It just disguised itself as “health,” “fitness,” and “discipline.”In this episode, I share my testimony — how control became my comfort, how extremes became my identity, and how God slowly showed me that obsession is not obedience… and discipline without peace is not freedom. The enemy doesn’t just tempt us with laziness.Sometimes he tempts us with intensity.God is not calling you to white-knuckle your way into holiness or health. He’s calling you into freedom. If your “healthy lifestyle” feels like a prison… this one is for you.

Take Every Thought Captive - Building Habits

Why is it so hard to change… even when you want to?In this episode, we dive into habit formation, behavior patterns, and the way God uniquely designed the human mind to change. Whether you’re trying to work out in the mornings, eat healthier, quit soda, respond with more patience, or break a habit that keeps pulling you backward—this conversation applies to you.You don’t need to know neuroscience to benefit from this episode. You just need to know this truth: our God is intentional, and our minds are not stuck. Habits can be rebuilt. Patterns can be rewritten. We talk about replacement habits, cues, cravings, mindfulness, and how both spiritual and physical forces influence our daily decisions. From practical examples (like simple cues that actually work) to biblical truth and modern neuroscience, this episode breaks down why lasting change isn’t about willpower—it’s about wisdom, structure, and surrender.Romans 12:2 wasn’t poetic—it was precise. If you’re tired of starting over…If you love Jesus but struggle with discipline…If you want habits that actually last…This episode is for you.And if it resonates, I’d love to walk this journey with you inside The Holy Habits Project—a structured season of renewal rooted in faith. Apply now on therefinerymovement.comWherever you’re starting from—you’re welcome here. 🤍

    My 2025 Recap

All the tea from 2025 ☕️Not gonna lie… it was hard. Like really hard. But it was also my favorite year yet. This episode is different from my usual faith + fitness teaching episodes. From wrestling for WWE and making history on a brand-new show…to tearing my knee on TV mid–main event and knowing, in my gut, that it was probably my last match. From spending most of my life wrapped up in the identity of “athlete”…to being released, rebuilding from scratch, grieving the loss of my Meemaw, and stepping into entrepreneurship with nothing but obedience and some freakin grit. This episode is a raw recap of a year that stretched my faith, stripped away comfort, and refined me in ways I didn’t see coming.A year full of great joy- my fav year so far tbh- but also a year with injury, fear, imposter syndrome, criticism, loss — and learning how to trust God when the future felt completely foggy. It’s also the story of how The Refinery Movement was born — not out of ambition, but out of surrender.Out of choosing the harder calling instead of the easier route. Totally retiring from wrestling and turning down tempting offers. Out of learning to wear every hat in my small business, not just coach- but Im a sales person, marketer, social media manager, hiring manager, app designer, ALL OF IT, grow through discomfort, and keep saying “yes” even when I didn’t feel ready. The narrow road is not linear but trust me it is so much fun and so worth it. Just keep swimming, LOL!😜If you’re in a season of uncertainty…If God is asking you to loosen your grip on an identity, a dream, or a version of life you thought you’d have…If you feel like you’re being held in the fire just long enough to actually change you —This episode is for you.2025 refined me.And I wouldn’t trade it for anything. These experiences have made me the woman I am today- the woman behind The Refinery Movement. If you’re a woman who wants faith-based, high-touch coaching — applications for coaching through The Refinery Movement are open.I am - CERTIFIED STRENGTH COACH- CERTIFIED NUTRITION COACH-CERTIFIED BEHAVIOR SPECIALIST- FORMER D1 & PRO ATHLETEbut above all, I AM A CHILD OF GOD with a heart on fire to help women in their fitness journeys. This isn’t surface-level motivation. The Tower of Babel & The Modern Fitness Industry

Pursuing excellence is not a bad thing, but when your heart posture to pursue excellence is rooted in making a name for yourself, that is not good.As humans, our hearts are idol making machines, and we have to constantly keep ourselves in check. In this podcast, I dive into the Tower of Babel and how there’s two sins usually regarding fitness. There’s the sin of neglect, where you don’t take care of your body at all. And there’s the sin of idolizing, making fitness the main thing- this one is what I personally struggled with- putting my worth in my abilities or the way I looked, rather than viewing myself first as a daughter of Christ. This episode of The Refinery Movement Podcast can also be good for women who may not struggle with idolizing fitness, but something else- maybe it’s your job, or how you keep your home, etc. Nimrod wasn’t building a tower to honor God, and it fell. Because self worship cannot stand. It eventually falls. To apply for faith based strength, nutrition, and behavior pattern coaching, go to therefinerymovement.com !

I dive into the connections between God and one of his cool creations- neuroscience. Our minds are literally made to be renewed. 40% of our daily activities are not things we do from decision making, but from habits. So we must take every thought captive, so God can transform our lives! To apply for faith based strength and nutrition coaching, go to therefinerymovement.com-AJ

    Speak Life or Stay Stuck

Sometimes the hardest part of the journey isn’t the gym… it’s getting back up when you feel tired, discouraged, or spiritually attacked. And we have two options: speak LIFE into yourself because you are a daughter of the most high King…or stay where the enemy wants you. I’m inviting you to the first option. YES it’s easier said than done, I struggle sometimes too. But it really is this simple. We have a choice when we wake up.In this episode, AJ gets real about the power of your words, your thoughts, and the spiritual battle behind your motivation. You’ll be reminded that you are not weak — you’re under construction. You’ll learn how to speak life instead of agreeing with defeat, and how to rise again when you feel like quitting. If you’ve been feeling stuck, heavy, or behind… this is your wake-up call. You don’t stay down here. You get up, gf!If you feel called to reach out to me as a resource on your fitness journey and are craving for your faith to be tied into your journey, book a call with me right here: https://form.jotform.com/253413427738157

Life After WWE - It Doesn't Have to Be OnlyFans

Former WWE Superstar turned Christian entrepreneur tackles a controversial trend head on - the rise of WWE released talent turning to OnlyFans.Today’s post is a little different from my usual content — but still completely aligned with what The Refinery Movement is all about. My mission, and the mission of The Refinery Movement, is to help women steward their bodies — their temples — and walk in true connection with God through health, fitness, and faith. This topic wasn’t part of my original content plan, but the Holy Spirit hit me hard with this one. I tried to brush it off, honestly. Because it’s so much easier to stay silent. To just go along, not ruffle feathers, and live a quiet life. But God had other plans. And even though it would be more comfortable to stay off social media, I know my calling is greater than my desire to stay comfortable. I truly feel that I was born for such a time as this.My prayer is that everyone tuning in feels the presence of the Holy Spirit and encounters Jesus through these words.I am coming from a place of deep, deep love- not judgment. The goal of this podcast is to warn my friends and former coworkers of the spiritual danger of living outside of God’s will. You are worth so much more than what the world is offering. There are other options — and I want to shine a light on those.I’ve been in your shoes. I know the pressure, the panic, the fear after that release call. When you’ve given your body, time, and energy to a career that can end with one phone call, it’s easy to feel lost. The temptation is real — financial pressure, validation, and the desire to stay relevant. But what looks like freedom can actually become a trap for your soul.Check out therefinerymovement.com for contact info and all the ways we can serve you!
