The Feminine Genius & Formation for Women w/ January Donovan

January Donovan, founder of the Woman School, joins Fr. Sam Kachuba and Matt Sperrazza to discuss her healing journey and the need she sees for formation for women in the United States (and internationally!) About January: January Donovan is the founder of The Woman School, a Mindset and Skill-based training for women. The School grew from 0-40+ countries in just 3 years because of the massive transformation women were achieving through the programs, community, and mentorship. January is also leading a Feminine Revival, a global movement dedicated to reclaiming femininity in a culture that has lost its moral and formative compass. At a time when women are more educated and empowered than ever, yet increasingly overwhelmed, fragmented, and unfulfilled, January offers a proven and scalable solution to the mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual crisis women are facing today. Her message is neither a return to fragile femininity nor an embrace of vicious feminism, but a bold vision for a flourishing future for women through formation. She is on a mission to restore women's original design as nurturers of humanity and become pillars to raise the standard of culture. Dr. Jennifer Bryson joins the Tangent to discuss the life of Ida Görres, the author of Bread Grows in Winter. In the words of Ignatius Press, "Ida Friederike Görres was one of the brightest, most penetrating Catholic writers in twentieth-century Europe. Yet her work is almost entirely unknown in the English-speaking world today." Dr. Jennifer Bryson earned a BA from Stanford University in Political Science, an MA from Yale University in History, and a PhD from Yale in Greco-Arabic and Islamic Studies from the Department of Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations. As an undergraduate at Stanford, she studied Marxism-Leninism for two semesters at the Karl Marx University in the former East Germany. Dr. Jennifer S. Bryson is a Fellow in Catholic Studeies at the Ethics and Public Policy Center (EPPC) in Washington, DC. She is currently translating and studying works by the Catholic authors Ida Friederike Görres (1901–1971), Joseph Görres (1776–1848), Joseph Ratzinger (later Pope Benedict XVI), and Oda Schneider (1892–1987) from German to English. Experiencing Spiritual Fatherhood on Pilgrimage to Rome, Assisi, Loreto, and Orvieto

In this episode, Fr. Sam shares his profound experiences from a recent pilgrimage, highlighting the spiritual depth and historical significance of several key locations. The journey begins with a visit to Rome, where Fr. Sam attends a Papal audience. He describes the powerful sense of unity and spiritual fatherhood felt in the presence of the Pope, who, with his American-accented English, connects deeply with the pilgrims. This moment underscores the Pope's role as a spiritual leader for Catholics worldwide, emphasizing the importance of prayer, particularly the rosary, during the month of October. The pilgrimage continues to Assisi, where Fr. Sam participates in the Transitus, a celebration marking the passing of St. Francis. The experience is enriched by the presence of the Italian President, highlighting the deep-rooted Catholic traditions in Italian society. Fr. Sam reflects on the significance of Assisi as a pilgrimage site, noting the large number of pilgrims and the spiritual renewal it offers. The visit to the tomb of St. Francis provides a moment of reflection and connection with the saint's legacy. A highlight of the journey is the visit to Orvieto, home to the Eucharistic miracle that occurred in 1263. Fr. Sam recounts the story of the miracle, where a priest's doubts about transubstantiation were dispelled when the host began to bleed. This event led to the establishment of the Feast of Corpus Christi. The pilgrimage also includes a stop at Loreto, where the Holy House of Nazareth is believed to have been miraculously transported by angels. Fr. Sam shares the historical and archaeological evidence supporting this tradition, emphasizing the house's significance as a place of prayer and reflection. Throughout the pilgrimage, Fr. Sam experiences moments of spiritual fatherhood, particularly when introducing his parishioners to the tomb of St. Pius X. This act of guiding his community to meet their patron saint reflects the deeper calling of his priesthood—to lead others to a closer relationship with Jesus. The pilgrimage, filled with unexpected encounters and spiritual insights, becomes a journey of personal and communal growth, leaving a lasting impact on Fr. Sam and his fellow pilgrims. The Church's Teaching on IVF & Human Dignity, with Stephanie Gray Connors

Since beginning the Tangent a couple years ago, Fr. Sam and I have had the opportunity to interview some amazing guests. One of those guests, who was kind enough to return to the show, is Stephanie Gray Connors. Stephanie Gray Connors is a prolific pro-life speaker. She’s debated against abortion for decades and is now the author of two books in Word on Fire’s Dignity Series - “On Assisted Suicide” and “On IVF”. I (Matt) invited Stephanie to join the Tangent again to discuss the latter of the two volumes from the Dignity Series because while I knew the Catholic Church’s teaching on IVF, I wasn’t sure I’d be able to explain why the Church teaches what She does. In today’s episode, we not only define IVF, we discuss why the Church takes such a strong stance against it, how this protects the dignity of human life, and tackle important questions like, “what about those who were born via this process?”.   LINKS The Dignity Series: https://bookstore.wordonfire.org/collections/the-dignity-series?srsltid=AfmBOoq5Mff4FzKM66LS62KgpFNYVWybuYtfSuHdOqms2knVS1q1tmpX Veritas: https://www.veritascatholic.com/ Support Veritas: https://www.veritascatholic.com/donate OTHER SHOWS Restless: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC1SbvGysG6C0mnQRAVcagkg Let Me Be Frank: https://www.youtube.com/@UCy9oYx0t7imNDH5nLwSiM8Q Daily Gospel Reflections: https://www.youtube.com/@UCDXE8YpRhxNwsAiv_lrgBOg
