Having The Courage To Walk Away

Charlotte, Charlie and Millie discuss the difficult moment when a Nanny realises they may have accepted the wrong role. Starting a new position can be exciting, but it can also come with the sudden shock of recognising that the job, family dynamic or expectations are not the right fit after all.The ladies explore what a Nanny’s next steps might look like in this situation. How long should a nanny give the role before making a decision? How can they approach the situation professionally and honestly? They also discuss the emotional side of navigating disappointment while still maintaining high standards of care and professionalism. The conversation also looks at the other side of the relationship — when employers begin to feel that their Nanny may not be the perfect match for their family after all. Charlotte, Charlie and Millie talk openly about how both Nannies and employers can handle these situations with respect, clarity and professionalism.Charlotte’s DMsHi WTNH, I am currently in a tricky situation. I look after 4 children, who for the most part are well behaved. However when they’re not I feel totally overwhelmed and outnumbered. I start to wonder if it is safe for 1 Nanny to be in care of 4 children? What can I do? What can I put in place to help me.Get in touch:Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/your_nanny_network/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/groups/145513705160641Email: [email protected]: https://www.yournannynetwork.co.uk/YNN Disclaimer:The content on our site is provided for information only. The End Game

Charlotte, Charlie and Millie discuss when is it time for a nanny to leave the profession? There’s an important distinction between stepping away from a particular role and deciding to leave Nannying altogether. Sometimes a role no longer fits due to changing circumstances, but that doesn’t necessarily mean the career itself has run its course.Nannies need to think ahead. What will their current role look like in a few years—and will it still be sustainable? It’s worth considering how their skills can transfer into other careers, and how possible it is to retrain or pivot while still employed. The reality is that Nannying demands constant presence, which can make long-term planning easy to overlook. That’s why it’s crucial to think about the future now. Whether it’s preparing financially for retirement, managing the physical strain that can come with the job, or acknowledging the mental load of always being on high alert, these factors matter. Without forward planning, both financially and personally, the long-term impact can be significant.Charlotte’s DMs:I work a 50+ hour week, I’m exhausted. How do I fit going in to the doctor’s and dentist’s, when I only have a few days’ holiday.Podcast Links:Budget Planner: https://www.yournannynetwork.co.uk/resource-libraryGet in touch:Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/your_nanny_network/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/groups/145513705160641Email: [email protected]: https://www.yournannynetwork.co.uk/YNN Disclaimer:The content on our site is provided for information only. Keeping you Safe: Babysitting Apps

Charlotte, Charlie and Millie dive into the world of babysitting apps—are they a smart way for Nannies to boost their income, or do they come with hidden risks? They share practical advice on staying safe while taking on app-based jobs, from what to check when arriving at a booking to trusting your instincts if something doesn’t feel right. The conversation also covers simple but crucial habits, like keeping someone informed of your location at all times. The episode also puts the spotlight on the apps themselves—what responsibility do they have in protecting nannies, and how could they be doing more?Charlotte’s DMsI’ve just been away with my Nanny family skiing over Easter. I did as you say and spoke to them beforehand about overtime hours etc etc it was all discussed and agreed although we’re now back and they arerefusimg to pay me. I’ve spoken to them, sent messages, nothing. They either ignore me or say the payment is on its way. Gentle Sleep Practices: An Interview With Emma Dolan

Charlotte, Charlie and Millie are joined by Emma Dolan, ex Nanny and founder of The Gentle Approach, who shares a refreshingly honest account of her own children’s sleep struggles from babyhood through the toddler years. Faced with ongoing challenges, Emma explains how these experiences pushed her to an alternative to the traditional “cry it out” method, shaping the gentle approach she now champions.Emma breaks down what gentle sleep really looks like in practice, offering clear, practical guidance on sleep hygiene and age-appropriate sleep needs. She shares helpful benchmarks for how much rest babies and children need during the day and overnight, along with realistic, Nanny-friendly tips that can be applied immediately. The conversation also turns to the role of Nannies in supporting better sleep. Emma offers grounded advice on working collaboratively with parents while caring for a child who struggles to settle, and explains why Nannies are often in a strong position to lead positive change thanks to consistency, routine, and a step-back perspective.Podcast Links:Emma’s Website: https://emmadolan.com/Emma’s Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/thegentleapproachsleep/Emma’s Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/people/The-Gentle-Approach-by-Emma-Dolan/61555252931720/Get in touch:Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/your_nanny_network/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/groups/145513705160641Email: [email protected]: https://www.yournannynetwork.co.uk/YNN Disclaimer:The content on our site is provided for information only. When You’re Better At The Job Than The Parents

Charlotte, Charlie and Millie explore the question of who is responsible for setting boundaries and expectations for the children in their care. While Nannies often bring professional experience and a strong understanding of child development, parents ultimately define the values and parenting approach they want for their family. The conversation highlights that the most successful arrangements come from collaboration, where both roles are respected and clearly understood. The discussion then moves on to what happens when a Nanny feels a situation isn’t working. The ladies emphasise the importance of approaching these conversations with sensitivity and professionalism. Rather than criticising, Nannies should focus on observations, use calm and neutral language, and centre the child’s wellbeing. Offering thoughtful solutions and choosing the right moment to raise concerns can make all the difference in how the message is received. They also touch on the importance of checking in with parents before suggesting any changes to routines or behaviour. While a Nanny may feel adjustments would be beneficial, parents may be perfectly happy with how things are. It’s important for Nannies to remember that their role is to advise and support, not to override parental decisions. An important reminder throughout the episode is that sometimes a Nanny and family may simply not be the right match. If a parent does not wish to change their approach and it conflicts with the nanny’s professional values, it’s okay to acknowledge that the relationship may not work long-term.Finally, the ladies discuss the impact of a Nanny who consistently criticises the parents’ parenting style. This can quickly damage trust, create tension within the home, and ultimately affect the children. Maintaining professionalism and mutual respect is essential for a healthy and successful working relationship.Charlotte’s DMsA Nanny looks after 3 children and all 3 children seem to have lisps or speech impediments. Observations and Instincts: When Something Isn’t Right

Charlotte, Charlie and Millie discuss how a Nanny can approach what is often an awkward and sensitive conversation with employers when they have concerns about a child’s development. They explore how to handle difficult reactions from parents, including denial or anger—responses that, while challenging, are not uncommon. The conversation also looks at how Nannies can manage their own frustration when their concerns are not acknowledged or acted upon, and what alternative ways they might continue to advocate for the child. The episode highlights the importance of all caregivers being aligned, while recognising that some children may mask behaviours in settings like school, making it harder for teachers to identify potential needs. Millie shares her personal experience with her son, who presents differently at school than at home. Finally, they emphasise the importance of Nannies taking ownership of their own CPD, building their knowledge around additional needs and child development so they feel more confident and equipped to support the children in their care.Charlotte’s DMsI could please use your advice, Your Nanny Network, please help What The Nanny Heard. I am working as a Nanny and the parents are now working from home full time. I thought they were due to go back to the office but they're not going to go back now. 76. Educational Approaches: How Nannies Can Support Early Childhood Development

Charlotte, Charlie, and Millie explore different styles of early years education, taking a closer look at the Montessori, Waldorf Steiner, and Reggio Emilia approaches. They break down how these philosophies overlap, where they differ, and the unique developmental benefits each one offers. The discussion turns personal as each host reflects on which approach best aligns with their own nannying style—and why. They also unpack a common phrase seen in job descriptions: “We follow the Montessori approach.” What does that actually look like in a home setting? And if parents are too rigid in sticking to one philosophy, can that limit a nanny’s ability to work intuitively and meet a child’s individual needs? The conversation then shifts to social media, particularly Instagram. Should nannies and parents use it to form opinions or expectations around childcare practices?Charlotte’s DMsHow can I interview for a new Nanny job when I can't use my current employer as a job reference? I don’t want an agency or any parents to contact my current boss because I don't want them to know I am taking time to find a new job, and I don't want to give any notice until I've signed my new contract for my new job.Get in touch:Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/your_nanny_network/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/groups/145513705160641Email: [email protected]: https://www.yournannynetwork.co.uk/YNN Disclaimer:The content on our site is provided for information only. Rota Roles: An Interview with Charlotte

Charlie and Millie sit down with their very own Charlotte to talk all things rota life.Charlotte opens up about stepping into her new rota role—does it really suit her work-life balance, or is it more challenging than expected? They dive into the nitty-gritty of what being a rota nanny actually involves: what’s expected on the job, how Charlotte adapts to being away for two weeks at a time, and the realities of being both on duty and off duty. How does a rota role compare to a daily position and which is preferable. The conversation explores the pros and cons of rota work, and the type of personality best suited to this unique lifestyle. They also discuss the emotional side: does working 24-hour shifts create stronger bonds with the children? How do children handle the transitions between carers, and what can nannies do to make it as smooth as possible? And, importantly—what happens when nannies have different approaches? Finally, can Charlotte change Charlie and Millie’s minds about rota work… would they ever give it a go?Get in touch:Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/your_nanny_network/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/groups/145513705160641Email: [email protected]: https://www.yournannynetwork.co.uk/YNN Disclaimer:The content on our site is provided for information only. Mother's Day Special

Charlotte, Charlie and Millie are diving into all things Mother’s Day.Spoiler alert: Charlie confesses she’s firmly anti-craft and baking! But jokes aside, the conversation gets real. How involved should a nanny be when it comes to Mother’s Day? Where’s the line between thoughtful support and overstepping? The ladies also explore how to navigate the day when families don’t fit the traditional “mum and dad” setup — especially in sensitive situations that require tact, awareness and emotional intelligence. There are plenty of practical ideas across all budgets and ability levels, with honest advice on what’s genuinely worked (and what absolutely hasn’t). From handmade gifts that were a hit to the ones that flopped, nothing is off limits. Is there such a thing as Nanny resentment over the lack of a “Nanny’s Day”? The team weighs in.Charlotte’s DMs:Do you think it is OK to have fake nails when working with babies?Easy Salt Dough Recipe:2 Cups of plain flour1 Table salt1 Warm waterCombine the salt and flour in a bowl. Life After Nannying: Interview with Rebecca, The Parent's Companion

Charlotte and Charlie continue their Life After Nannying series with Rebecca, founder of The Parent’s Companion.Rebecca shares her journey from nannying — a role she loved — to training as a maternity nurse around eight years ago, realising the pace and variety of the role suited her personality. She also reflects on taking a career break as a flight attendant with Air New Zealand, where she discovered how much she enjoyed supporting families in a completely different environment. Living in New Zealand further shaped her approach, as she saw how parents there are given ongoing coaching, guidance, and practical tools to support positive parenting — almost like a manual for raising children.Rebecca explains that her unique approach is centred on empowering parents with the knowledge and confidence to be the best parents they can be, without becoming dependent on professional support. She speaks about the importance of clear boundaries, collaboration, consistency, and even giving parents “homework” — without which real change simply doesn’t stick. The conversation also explores emotional coaching, different parenting styles, and how children respond far better to playfulness and humour. Rebecca highlights the importance of empathy, understanding, and connection, reminding us that play is children’s work. She explains why transitions — like stopping play to leave for school — can be so challenging, and why scaffolding children through these moments is key to helping them move confidently into the next stage of their day. Podcast Links:The Parent’s Companion website: https://theparentscompanion.co.uk/Rebecca’s Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/theparentscompanion/Laura Markham: https://www.peacefulparenthappykids.com/The Explosive Child by Ross W Green: https://drrossgreene.com/the-explosive-child.htmGet in touch:Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/your_nanny_network/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/groups/145513705160641Email: [email protected]: https://www.yournannynetwork.co.uk/YNN Disclaimer:The content on our site is provided for information only. Life After Nannying: An Interview With Georgina, A Maternity Nurse

Charlotte, Charlie, and Millie sit down with Georgina, who has supported over 200 families, to talk through her journey from nanny to maternity nurse — and everything in between. She speaks about the deep job satisfaction that comes from supporting new parents through the intense transition from couple to family of three. We discuss the realities of the role, the importance of empowering parents, and how teaching practical strategies — from establishing routines and winding techniques to knowing when to step back — helps families bond confidently with their new baby.Georgina reflects on upskilling and training, sharing that while she didn’t feel she needed a course, formal learning helped cement her chosen career path. She speaks honestly about how much of her learning came from hands-on experience rather than the classroom. She’s clear that CPD is important, but acknowledges that fashions and fads in baby care are always evolving. She also opens up about learning to keep an open mind and respect different parenting styles. Georgina offers practical advice on contracts, the pros and cons of nannying versus maternity nursing, the boundaries maternity nurses need to set, and the importance of peer support — including coffee mornings for maternity nurses.Podcast Links:Harmony at Home Maternity: https://harmonyathome.co.uk/childcare-services/maternity-services/Georgina’s email:[email protected] Emhttps://www.babyem.co.uk/Get in touch:Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/your_nanny_network/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/groups/145513705160641Email: [email protected]: https://www.yournannynetwork.co.uk/YNN Disclaimer:The content on our site is provided for information only. Life After Nannying: An Interview With Adeline, A Postpartum Doula and Hypnobirthing Teacher

Charlotte, Charlie and Millie chat to the wonderful Adeline, who has spent over 25 years in childcare and early years. She is now a postpartum doula and hypnobirthing practitioner, supporting families through pregnancy, birth, and those deeply transformative early weeks.Adeline shares how her first role in London, working with a child with a serious illness, shaped her understanding of truly holistic care — supporting not just the child, but the whole family.Becoming a mother herself brought everything full circle. With a husband who worked away, she began to reflect on how she could use her experience and knowledge differently. This led her to write and deliver courses, training others with a strong focus on practical, hands-on learning rather than screen-based teaching. In a powerful and honest part of the conversation, Adeline speaks openly about experiencing postnatal rage — feeling dysregulated, burnt out, overwhelmed, shouting, and no longer recognising herself. She reflects on how Covid, in an unexpected way, arrived at the right time for her: creating space to pause, reset, and start again.Adeline explains clearly what a doula is, what they do, and how the role differs from that of a maternity practitioner. At its heart, she describes doula work as “mothering the mother.”The episode finishes with Adeline guiding us through hypnobirthing and the profound impact it can have on the birth experience.Podcast Links:New Parent Company: https://www.newparentcompany.com/Adeline’s Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/newparentcompany/Get in touch:Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/your_nanny_network/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/groups/145513705160641Email: [email protected]: https://www.yournannynetwork.co.uk/YNN Disclaimer:The content on our site is provided for information only. The Unicorn Job: How To Create The Perfect Role

Charlotte, Charlie, and Millie discuss whether the elusive “unicorn job” really exists. They explore how a Nanny can turn a job advert on paper into a role that truly works for them, including who to speak to, when to speak up, and how to communicate professionally and effectively.Charlotte, Charlie and Millie are clear that once a role begins Nannies need time to earn their stripes—roles can’t simply be reshaped on demand. Building trust, demonstrating professionalism, and working hard are essential, and when those things are in place, fair reward should follow. They also discuss how to approach role adjustments when something isn’t quite right. The key? Bringing solutions, not just problems. The episode unpacks the difference between healthy compromise and diva behaviour, and how to advocate for yourself without damaging the working relationship. Finally, the conversation turns to balance and job security. In a climate where nannies can feel increasingly disposable, they reflect on whether employers later regret flippant dismissals—and whether remorse ever truly comes into play.Charlotte’s DMsLaura is about to go for a trial and she asks... Routine V Freeflow

Charlotte, Charlie, and Millie discuss the key differences between routine and free flow, and why free flow should not be confused with uninvolved care. They explore how structure can exist without rigidity, and how boundaries, expectations, and consistency still play a crucial role even in a more child-led day. Does personality influence how a routine is set—or whether one exists at all? From highly organised caregivers to more intuitive, go-with-the-flow types. The ladies discuss what happens when children transition into school, where routines are largely non-negotiable. How does a child who has experienced free flow adapt to timetables, rules, and structured learning? Equally, how does a child raised with a very fixed routine cope with the sudden need for flexibility and independence? The conversation also looks at the extremes. What happens when a routine is too rigid or on the other hand, a routine is too flexible. Do routines naturally evolve over time, allowing children to grow with them?Charlotte’s DMsI care for a 3 year old who has a meltdown at every transition. I do the countdown, the gentle reminders and plenty of notice, nothing seems to work. Does it align with her values, experience, and instincts? If so, the initial interview is absolutely imperative. The balancing Act: Nanny, Child and Parents

Charlotte, Charlie, and Millie discuss the age-old question: who are Nannies really training — the children or the parents? They explore the delicate balance of managing expectations, routines, and boundaries in a role that often extends far beyond childcare. The ladies discuss the familiar Monday struggle: returning to work after weekend routines have been completely undone. Is it back to square one every time? Do Nannies have the right to complain, or is professionalism about accepting that parents will do as they please during the Nanny’s time off? Also up for discussion is whether perspective and emotional resilience develop with experience, and if time in the job helps Nannies manage the mental load more effectively.Charlotte and Millie then share their own distressing stories of being fibbed to by their parents! Reflecting on how those moments linger long after they happen — and why trust is such a crucial, and fragile, part of the Nanny–child relationship.Charlotte’s DMsI am in a bit of a tricky situation, please may you help me? New Beginnings, Old Bonds

Charlotte, Charlie and Millie follow on from last week’s episode about goodbyes, focusing on the often-overlooked beginning: how nannies can confidently negotiate and navigate the early days of a new job.Starting with a new family is rarely straightforward. Every household is different, every child is individual, and transitions can be challenging. Children may struggle with change, boundaries will almost certainly be tested, and it’s essential to start as you mean to go on — with clarity, consistency, and compassion. The episode offers practical advice to help Nannies fully arm themselves for a strong, successful start. It’s about finding the balance between holding firm boundaries and showing empathy, taking baby steps, and understanding that trust takes time.Charlotte’s DMsHave you ever noticed that children act so much worse when their parents are at home?Podcast Links:1st Day checklist: https://www.yournannynetwork.co.uk/resource-libraryEmergency contactDaily Checklist: https://www.yournannynetwork.co.uk/resource-libraryGet in touch:Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/your_nanny_network/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/groups/145513705160641Email: [email protected]: https://www.yournannynetwork.co.uk/YNN Disclaimer:The content on our site is provided for information only. The Nanny After Me: What We Leave Behind

Charlotte, Charlie and Millie discuss the moment a nanny realises it’s time to move on and everything that comes with that decision. They explore what Nannies leave behind — emotionally and practically — and whether this transition feels more sad or exciting. The conversation covers leaving gifts (yes or no?), staying in touch after a role ends, birthdays and birthday presents, and the complex mix of emotions experienced by both the nanny and the child or children. The ladies also share thoughtful advice on navigating this potentially tough time, including handling the handover to a new Nanny. Including passing on personal notes, hints and tips that can help instil confidence and reassurance in the children during the change.Charlotte’s DMsMy family are expecting to have a new baby any day now soon and it’s a little girl. Emotional Wellbeing

Charlotte, Charlie and Millie revisit the hugely important topic of emotional wellbeing, exploring the often unseen emotional labour that Nannies carry every day. They discuss the importance of knowing and enforcing boundaries, particularly when overtime feels financially tempting but ultimately leads to burnout if rest is neglected. The conversation looks at what self-care realistically means in a Nanny’s day and how difficult it can be to switch off from the constant mental load of the role. They also question how much advice we can — or should — give fellow Nannies when we see their work-life balance slipping, and why so many of us place such high expectations on ourselves. The episode highlights the vital role of support networks and ends with a reminder that Nannies need to show themselves more kindness and learn how to let go of the pressure they carry.Charlotte’s DMsI have been asked to go on holiday with my Nanny family. I don’t usually do this. I have asked them to compensate me for the time away from my home and from my family and they have said no. This week on What The Nanny Heard, Charlotte, Charlie and Millie dive into the often-blurred lines of the Nanny/employer dynamic, exploring how Nannies can maintain a warm, friendly relationship without losing professional boundaries. They unpack what can happen when things become too familiar and how that impacts important employment-based conversations, including pay, responsibilities and expectations. The ladies tackle the classic holiday dilemma—should Nannies join employers for dinner, is alcohol ever appropriate and, if so, where’s the limit?—as well as how much personal information is too much when trying to stay personable but professional. They also discuss navigating advice: how Nannies should communicate thoughtfully and respectfully when employers ask for opinions, or when offering guidance without overstepping. From social media friendships to off-duty interactions, this episode is all about protecting professionalism while still building healthy, respectful working relationships.Charlotte’s DMs:My employers are constantly coming home late. Charlotte, Charlie, and Millie explore the purpose of trial days for Nannies — whether they’re truly necessary, what they reveal about compatibility, and how long they should realistically last, including when an overnight might be appropriate. They dig into the tricky subject of payment, from travel expenses to trial-day rates, and how Nannies can raise the topic confidently without feeling greedy, especially when they’re giving up their time and effectively working. They also look at what happens when families skip trials altogether, discussing how Nannies can still learn the home’s rhythms, expectations, and ask the awkward but important questions. Finally, they unpack the attitudes on both sides: what Nannies are looking for in parents during a trial, and what parents and children tend to look for in a nanny.Charlotte’s DMs:Is it appropriate for me to invite my Nanny family to my wedding?Get in touch:Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/your_nanny_network/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/groups/145513705160641Email: [email protected]: https://www.yournannynetwork.co.uk/YNN Disclaimer:The content on our site is provided for information only. Approaching your Annual Appraisal/Review

Charlotte, Charlie and Millie discuss the importance of annual reviews and appraisals in every Nanny role. They're not just about asking for something like a pay rise. They provide a valuable opportunity for an open and honest discussion about your current role, what’s going well, and how your position is likely to evolve over the next year. It’s a dedicated moment to reflect on how your responsibilities may have shifted and to ensure you and the family remain aligned. The ladies discuss key focuses of the review such as the children’s development. Discuss their milestones, progress, and any areas where support may need to adapt. This is also the time to look ahead at upcoming changes — for example, if school will start earlier next term or if after-school activities like ballet are moving to a later time. Instead of simply raising problems, come prepared with potential solutions so you can work collaboratively on what the new routine could look like.Preparation makes a huge difference. Before the meeting, take time to reflect on your achievements over the past year and set some clear goals for the year ahead. Going in with notes not only helps you feel confident but also ensures you cover everything you need to. After the review, write up what was discussed and keep it for your own records. It’s a great way to keep track of your progress, and it can be a brilliant pick-me-up when you need a reminder of how far you’ve come.Dear Charlotte’s DMsIs it appropriate to ask my employer for an advance? Becoming A Household Manager: Levelling Up Your Skill Set

This week, Charlotte, Charlie, and Millie chat with the wonderful Maria, whose journey from nanny to House Manager is nothing short of inspiring.Arriving in England with zero English, Maria worked her way up with resilience, confidence, and an unshakeable belief in her worth. From au pairing in Italy at 17, to a life-changing move from North London to Kensington, Maria has never shied away from fighting for what she deserves — from contracts and holiday pay to proper payslips. Her career story is full of bold decisions and brilliant twists, including applying for a role that required Hindi (a language she didn’t speak!) — and proving that her passion for India and her exceptional skill set were more than enough to land the job. Her position began as a temp role. She showed the family her loyalty, commitment and expert childcare skills; ultimately leading to her becoming their household manager. Maria’s journey shows what’s possible when determination meets self-respect.Get in touch:Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/your_nanny_network/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/groups/145513705160641Email: [email protected]: https://www.yournannynetwork.co.uk/YNN Disclaimer:The content on our site is provided for information only. Traditional Versus Modern Parenting: Where The Nanny Fits In

This week, Charlotte, Charlie and Millie explore how parenting styles have evolved over the decades — and where Nannies sit within that shift. The trio dive into the contrast between traditional and modern approaches to raising children, and how their own Nannying styles fit into today’s landscape. They unpack the discipline methods they do and don’t use, what’s changed over the years, and how to strike a healthy balance between a structured, educational routine and a more fluid, boundary-light approach. As Nannies, we have a responsibility to support children’s learning through play — but where do screens fit into that? Should Nannies be teaching children how to use technology, or is that the job of parents and schools?Charlotte, Charlie and Millie also break down the most common parenting styles, reveal which Nannying style each of them naturally leans toward, and how they adapt or merge their approaches when working with different families. With childcare costs rising, extended family members are now more involved than ever — adding a whole new dynamic of childcare styles for Nannies to navigate.Dear Charlotte’s DMsI’ll be taking the toddler that I look after to the library. Managing Conflict

Charlotte, Charlie, and Millie tackle the tricky subject of managing conflict in nanny roles.Even in the happiest positions, disagreements can arise — and that’s perfectly normal.Conflict doesn’t necessarily mean it’s time to end the partnership; often, it’s simply time for an honest, calm conversation before any resentment builds. The discussion covers:How to stay professional when things don’t go the way you hoped. When to ride out the storm — knowing your family and recognising when external factors, like stress at their work, might be influencing their behaviour. How to handle things gracefully if termination becomes unavoidable — maintaining professionalism and integrity through your notice period. Why expressing your feelings and experiences helps employers grow and become better bosses.Dear Charlotte’s DMsHi Girls really live the podcast. I work in one of those communal garden squares in London. All the children that play in this garden end up coming into my Nanny family's house and they end up playing and none of the other nannies or parents ever reciprocate. I am resentful and I am burnt out at taking care of all the other people’s children.Get in touch:Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/your_nanny_network/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/groups/145513705160641Email: [email protected]: https://www.yournannynetwork.co.uk/YNN Disclaimer:The content on our site is provided for information only.
