Episode #34 Meet Ananya Prasad
Today I’m joined by someone truly extraordinary.Ananya Prasad has successfully completed what's called the World’s Toughest Row. A rowing race across the Atlantic ocean that sees teams of 5 or less people compete, Ananya entered as a solo rower. I am in complete awe of this woman. It took Ananya 52 days to row unassisted on a non-stop 3000-mile voyage from La Gomera in the Canary Islands to Antigua. She began on December 11th 2024 and arrived 2nd place in the solo category on February 1st 2025. Ananya speaks to me about the challenges she faced during her time rowing the ocean and also the unique experience of doing it alone. I was hanging on every word. I've finally taken the hot seat in my own podcast to tell my story. Thank you to the wonderful Ezara Ahern-Easter for taking the time to sit and talk with me, you were the perfect interviewer. I share my experiences in life as a business woman, mother, mentor and now a podcaster. Lisa and I share our story, one that we've been talking about telling for some time now. We go back a long way with well over 30 years of friendship behind us. In this conversation we share how we've coped since losing our business Kids Cook during the pandemic. Kids Cook opened in 2013 but sadly we never reopened after that infamous day in March 2020 when all the schools closed, including us.. Our story is one of reflection and acknowledgment of what Kids Cook was but it's also one of great sadness. Lisa and Kerri lost their sister Heather in January 2021 and the years that have followed been those of unbelievable heartache, grief and huge change for everyone. I love Lisa dearly and I am so very proud of her quiet determination in the toughest of times, she is one of the bravest people I know and I am beyond blessed to have her in my life.
