53. ADHD & social media addiction: Why it FEELS IMPOSSIBLE to stop doomscrolling
Hiiii besties!Today on the podcast we are discussing ADHD and social media/phone addiction. We share our theory as to why ADHDers often find their communities online, why we get stuck in dopamine DOOM SCROLL loops. We talk about how we are attempting to create digital boundaries for ourselves (while still being kind to our ADHD brains) and what might help us to get a bit more of our time back from Marky Mark Zuck and his sneaky ways. 🫠 Ireggy Seggy (tiiiimeeee): We almost reignite top sheet-gate as we ask each other the important ‘living together’ questions that every pair of besties needs to iron out if they want to go on a trip together. Thankfully we agree that toilet paper must be over (obviously) and Grace even treats us to an explanation of the aerodynamics. 🤌 RECS:Grace recs a genius phone shortcut and her fave binaural scientific sleep music Tara recs a podcast called Boring history for sleep Don’t forget you can WATCH this episode as a video podcast on YouTubeWe will be back in your diabolically stunning little neurodivergent ears in two weeks time. Hi Bestiessss – It’s another SPECIAL throwback episode from the early days of our PATRE0N!This episode is juicy AF and is packed with friendship dilemmas and vulnerable conversations about ADHD that we know so many of you will relate to.First up, we answer a Patreon listener question: Grace shares a bit about her AuDHD diagnosis journey (and what that’s looked like over time). Tara talks through her own exploration of neurodiversity and why she feels she sits more in the ADHD-only camp.DIVERGENT DILEMMAS:💌 “My friend needs time to decide whether she wants to continue our friendship and I can’t handle the rejection.”- We talk about our old babe Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria (RSD), friendship limbo, and why ghosting hits differently when you’re neurodivergent.- We also discuss why women with ADHD are way more likely to experience emotional highs and lows in friendships – and how we can soften the shame and start building safer emotional habits.💌“Help! When I’m not nearby friends and family, I find it impossible to stay in contact.”- Classic ‘out of sight, out of mind’ struggle! - We chat about the emotional spiral that comes from not replying, plus gentle hacks to help you stay connected even when your brain is on ✨airplane mode✨.Don’t forget to grab our FREE Emoji Texting Guide – low effort ways to show you care, even when words feel impossible: https://adhdbesties.com/download-free-emoji-guideLOVE ALWAYS!Tara & Grace xx(don’t RSD -come on, you should know this by now)----------------------------🦋 WANT MORE ADHD BESTIES? Hiiiiiiii ADHD bestie BABES! Today we're sharing the recording of our VERY FIRST live podcast event (a few weeks ago) where we celebrated the launch of Grace’s book The ADHD Focus Friend... We had such a wonderful time meeting some of our gorgeous listeners in person and we can’t wait to meet more of you in the near future! We discuss Grace’s book The ADHD Focus Friend and why it's different to traditional productivity tools because it's designed for inconsistency, demand avoidance and messiness. Grace explains how the book design reduces the load on working memory and why productivity is connected emotional regulation and nervous system regulation. We get the tea on what she DIDN’T want to put in the book and why, as well as answer questions around PMDD, parenthood, working memory, RSD and so much more. RSD corner: Tara is RSDing that you can't see her making finger quotations when uses the phrase "acting normal" in reference to ND kids , but pls know she is.Sending you allll the love and if you RSD we will just be exceptionally mad so don’t plzLots of loveeeee Tara and Grace! 46. "I LOSE MY GRIP ON REALITY!" 🫨 ADHD, PMDD, mood-swings & hormones (feat. Emma from @emmasmindovermatter)
Hello tiniest ADHD babies 💁♀️WE ARE OFFICIALLY BACKKKK TO OUR LIVE WEEKLY EPS!! (Grace has been away on holiday for 3 weeks and Tara has been a shell of a human without her, obvs) This week we're bringing you an interview with content creator and AuDHD advocate Emma Llewellyn (@emmasmindovermatter) all about PMDD - which is pre-menstrual dysphoric disorder. This topic is one that we get asked about often, so we wanted to do a deep dive with Emma, who raises awareness about PMDD frequently on her Instagram, and is always so real, raw and honest.PMDD is a disorder that causes psychological and physical symptoms in the days and weeks before a person gets their period (the luteal phase). People who have ADHD are more likely to have PMDD than those who do not, possibly due to especially low levels of dopamine relating to ADHD.We discuss:• how it feels to have PMDD and how it can impact our lives, moods, relationships, jobs, energy levels and more • how Emma realised she had PMDD and her journey being diagnosed• how PMDD exacerbates emotions like rage, anxiety, depression, intrusive thoughts, low self-esteem and shame• what 'PMDD survival mode' feels like and how communicating our needs to our partners or friends can reduce resentment and blame• the dysphoric aspect of PMDD means you barely recognise yourself during the luteal phase (which can feel quite scary/like a loss of control), and this can be very confusing and disheartening• More information on PMDD & support hereRECS 🤌• Tara is recommending a show called 'Please Like Me', written by Josh Thomas and featuring comedians like Hannah Gadsby. The dramedy tackles sensitive topics like mental health and neurodivergence while also being v. funny. • Grace is recommending a Netflix show she can’t stop bingeing called ‘The Lady’s Companion’ which is essentially what you’d get if Bridgerton and Jane the Virgin had a baby. 👼We will be back in your DIVINE little neurodivergent ears next Thursdayyyy, and until then don't RSD (especially when you have PMDD bby girl 💣💥) G-baby and Ta xx----------------------------🦋 WANT MORE ADHD BESTIES? Hello, stunning ND brains! Ready to join us for some juicy ADHD dilem lems while sipping your metaphorical (or literal) white wine in the sun?In this week's dilemma, a newly diagnosed ADHD mum asks for help. She's trying to build her dream Etsy shop but keeps getting sucked into hyperfixation rabbit holes on her computer (cute), and is feeling frustrated at her lack of productivity. Sound familiar? We discuss:Unconscious Scrolling: It’s not laziness; it’s unmet needs tapping us on the shoulder. 👀Dysregulation 101: Why we’re stuck in the rinse-and-repeat cycle of procrastination—and how to spot it while it’s happening.Sensory Needs FTW: Sometimes, focus is just one pair of noise-cancelling glasses (huh?) away. Mirror neurons for the win, baby.Grace’s Pearls of Wiz:Grace reads from her upcoming book, The ADHD Focus Friend (Pre-Order it here!) dropping gems like:“At its core, procrastination is resistance. 30. ADHD & ANXIETY: Tara's story of motherhood, postpartum anxiety & depression 💜
Hi besties, we have something a little bit different for you this week!First up, we're struggggling to do admin tasks, but on the plus side we were so bored at the bank that we used the hand sanitiser 200 times so our hands are super dry 🫠In this raw and honest episode of Your ADHD Besties, Tara opens up about her personal journey with anxiety and how it intersects with her ADHD. She dives deep into the complexities of living with anxiety from childhood all the way through her postnatal experience, where she also faced postpartum depression. Tara shares how ADHD has shaped her experience with her mental health, and how navigating both ADHD and anxiety has sometimes been a tricky balance.Throughout this unfiltered conversation, Tara explores the role of medication in her life—how anxiety medication (SSRIs) and ADHD stimulants have played a part, and the challenges of managing multiple diagnoses. She also opens up about her experiences with dyscalculia, dysgraphia, and OCD, and how these conditions impact her and their interplay with ADHD.If you're struggling with depression or anxiety, know that you're not alone and help is available. Reach out to a mental health professional, talk to someone you trust, or find a helpline in your country here.RECS:• Tara recommends the Tarte Tartelette Amazonian Clay Matte Palette... Highly pigmented, natural looking matte eyeshadows that's so good that she has been scraping the crumbs out of the bottom.• Grace recommends this burnout meditation on the Insight Timer AppCooked? Hi gorgeous besties! In today’s episode: Tara's suitcase game is stronggg, Grace is always real but is getting realllly real about her ADHD.DIVERGENT DILEMMA:A beautiful trans listener asks "I was wondering if being assigned female at birth is one of the reasons why I was diagnosed late? And if you think that transgender men usually have female ADHD?" We discuss ADHD intersectionality, the interplay between nature and nurtureWhether there any biological underpinnings of ADHD in women?Whether certain ADHD traits are more likely to appear in AFAB peopleHow to separate ADHD traits/symptoms from our personalities? "What is me and what is my ADHD?"IREGGY SEGGY:We try to alleviate our impulse purchase guilt by comparing reddit confessions 🫠 - Kayaks, boats, houses, Nutella jars the size of a newborn infant... if you can think of it, someone has impulse purchased it.RECOMMENDATIONS:• Tara recommends Sally Rooney's book Intermezzo; neurodivergent themes, awkward tensions - what more could you want? 📚• Grace recommends a new Japanese reality show on Netflix called 'The Boyfriend,' an understated but GORGEOUS series that she is addicted to 👨❤️👨We hope you enjoyyyy and we will be back in your ears next THURSDAY babes!👂🎧All our love, Tara & Grace xx(don’t RSD plz, or we will be so so mad)----------------------------🦋 WANT MORE ADHD BESTIES? 28. HOW TO: fall in love with your STIMS, manage sensory clashes & reframe ADHD inconsistency
ADHD BABESSSS! We’re back for Season 2! In today’s episode Tara is joining us from East Java 🌺, while poor Grace is joining us from germ-ville 🤧.Grace makes a retraction and apology about her pronunciation of the word Appalachian 🏔️ and promises not to RSD (see: she will RSD about it forever).Dilemma 1: "How do I find a hobby I like and actually stick with it?"We discuss letting go of the idea of having to ‘achieve’ hobbies and see them through to completion and that hobbies are often for regulation itself, rather than achieving an end point. Striving for consistency and completion when your brain is interest-driven and divergent can often lead to us feeling Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria (RSD) and/or feeling negative or resentful towards the hobby.Dilemma 2: "My son and I have clashing sensory issues 😫 - HELP!!"We discuss sensory profiles, occupational therapy, and give some suggestions on how to make sure both of your sensory needs are met. We explore sensory avoiding and sensory seeking types, and the challenge of integrating stimuli. Ireggy Seggy: This week we asked YOU guys what burning questions you had for us. We mostly ponder extremely personal and profound questions like ‘if you were a dinosaur, what kind would you be?’ and ‘what is the best ice-cream flavour?’, in which Grace learns some things about Tara that she can’t unsee... but we also cover some more serious questions like how to speak to family and friends about your diagnosis.REC LINKS:Grace recommends: Using your sick leave to smoke through full seasons of TV series, particularly season 3 of the Netflix series Heartstopper, which she feels is not only queer-affirming, but also neuro-affirming and healing for Boomers, Gen-Xers and Millennials to watch as it is so different to our lived experiences growing up 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️. Tara recommends: Hair shampoo brush things (like this) they feel amazing, but also help to keep hair cleaner for longer, and may help with hair growth 🪮💁♀️We will be back in your insanely gorgeous ears next THURSDAYYY!and until then DON’T RSD (we're watching you! 👀)LOVE!Tara and Grace xxx----------------------------🦋 WANT MORE ADHD BESTIES? 27. "My ADHD makes me feel so broken and I can't stop negative thinking!" 😭
Hi ADHD besties! This is our LAST episode of SEASON 1! After this ep, we are taking a teeny tiny break and will be back with our usual episode the Thursday after next... PLUS we have some very exciting news! 👀This week we're overstimulated by kids parties and raising boys (boy parents will agree that it's a never ending bucks party!) 🙃Dilemma:A gorgeous neurotypical listener asks how he can support his ADHD girlfriend, especially with her negative self talk and internalised ableism. 👩❤️👨We discuss:- How cycles of negative self talk are conditioned in childhood and can become increasingly savage and disollusioning. - How a partner/friend can help their negative partner by reflecting their thoughts back to them, and helping them get some perspective.- Grace shares the biggest shifts in her journey with negative self talk and why taking ownership helped hugely.- Creating space between our thoughts and ourselves and recognising unconscious thought patterns.- The neurobiology of the brain and why we get stuck in negative thought patterns.- We look at the concept of 'clickbait thoughts' and question whether thoughts are helpful, instead of whether they're true.RECS: - Grace has another questionable rec that Tara is convinced that she came up with 5 minutes prior to recording- Tara recommends the book 'The Happiness Trap' by Russ HarrisIreggy Seggy:This week we're playing 'Good words, Bad words': is it an auditory stim or does it make you feel like peeling your ears off? 🫣Don't RSD loves!Tara & Grace xx----------------------------🦋 WANT MORE ADHD BESTIES? 26. "I constantly interrupt people and I feel terrible about myself"
Oh hiiii, ADHD Bestie babes! 🌟This week, Grace (almost) becomes the neighborhood hero by saving the day from controlled burn-offs, while Tara triumphs over PMDD for the first time since she was 13.Dilemma: Our gorgeous Kiwi listener is feeling serious RSD when it comes to interrupting people during conversations. We discuss why ADHDers do this and how to see this trait from different perspectives, including how to own it and advocate for your ADHD brain as a way to open up conversations and express empathy for someone.Ireggy Seggy: 🐷 PIG in the middle (A.K.A The positive interrupting game). This week we play a torturous game where one person must speak slo-o-o-wly and the other must gleefully interrupt them. It's as unhinged as it sounds and Tara forgets how to geography. 🫠 🌎REC LINKS: Tara's Rec: The Middleditch and Schwartz completely improvised comedy specials on Netflix. 25. Navigating workplace conflict with ADHD 🌶️ 🤐
Hi very beautiful neurodivergent brains! This week, we’re watering our fake plants and celebrating our birthdays like the indulgent little princes we are!Dilemma 1: Our lovely listener Kerri feels like she comes across as intimidating, and it’s triggering her RSD. We chat about advocating for ADHD in the workplace and embracing your unique intensity while also showing your softer side. Remember, two things can be true: you can be passionate and intense and also a kind/gentle person!Dilemma 2: A cute little Bimbo Marshall comes out of the woodwork with a question about phone calls and the stress of feeling disconnected to the person on the other end, almost like she’s talking to a disembodied voice. We discuss the challenges of emotional processing and body language on calls, and why many ADHDers find emailing and texting way easier than chatting on the phone. We dive into some practical tips for how to escape those moments when you’re feeling “chat-trapped” and mananging the overwhelm of keeping the conversation going like calming your nervous system right before the call, using social scripts—like chatting about the weather to ease into the conversation and Grace gives the 'untip’ of calling when the background noise is terrible and just blaming it on that!Ireggy Seggy: It’s time for “ADHD or NAYDHD: The Zoo Edition”! Expect possum testicles, kangaroo gazing, tortoise tickling, and our new obsession with the Aye-Aye!Recommendations:Grace recommends: MCo Beauty Grip Primer Link and Milk Makeup Hydro Grip Primer Link.Tara recommends: An insightful article by her hero Christy Harrison on evaluating the quality of science behind supplements Link.We will be back in your insanely gorgeous ears next THURSDAYand until then DON’T RSDLOVE!Tara and Grace xxx----------------------------🦋 WANT MORE ADHD BESTIES? 24. "Help! Is it my ADHD or am I just bad at sleep?!" 😴
Hi beautiful ADHD babes! On today's show:- Grace tries relaxed parenting but gets piggy-bocked in the face, and Tara is forced to admit her STEM job from when she was 14 years old. • Divergent Dilemma - A gorgeous listener called Ashara asks whether late night productivity and sleep issues are linked to ADHD. Ooooofff, this is a biiig question! We asked our audience whether they were night owls or early birds (worms?) and the results were (not very) surprising. We talk about why the late night hours are so appealing for ADHDers and why decompressing at night is so important for our dysregulated nervous systems. Tara talks about the link between diet and sleep cycles for ADHDers and gives some helpful tips (more on eating in episodes 4, 8, 19 & 20) AND we hear from our listeners what sort of tasks are keeping you up late at night 👀. • This week's Ireggy Seggy is a round of 'Who is more likely to...?' We learn a lot about each other (eg. who is most likely to yell at bugs and who is most likely to send a snarky text) but mostly that Grace is mummy’s little ferret. RECS: • Grace recommends 'First we make the beast beautiful' by Sarah Wilson: the best book on anxiety she's ever read!• Tara recommends non-photosynthesising plants (a.k.a good quality fake plants 🪴) 💜Happy Thursday babes,We’ll be back in your ears the same time next week!Until then. You KNOW what you can’t do (RSD)Tara and Grace xxx----------------------------🦋 WANT MORE ADHD BESTIES? 22. Motherhood rage and dysregulation with Jenna Free (ADHD coach & therapist)
Hi hiii ADHD loves! In today's episode we have another bestie guestie on the podcast, Jenna Free - ADHD coach and therapist (who you may know as @adhdwithjennafree on Instagram or TikTok). We chat through two dilemmas with Jenna:• Dilemma #1 - A cute listener called Em asks: "I told my partner that I have ADHD and struggle a lot with 'time blindness'. While he acknowledged I may have ADHD and wanted to support me, he said this trait was simply “poor time management skills” and encouraged me to learn to do better. How do I explain to people what I believe to be certain before I receive the medical certainty of a diagnosis?" • Dilemma #2 - A gorgeous name twin listener called 'Tara from Texas' asks: "My son just turned 4 and I find myself exploding with anger seemingly out of nowhere almost daily. He brings me so much joy, so it kills me when I go from 0 to 1000. The most frequent advice I get is to take care of myself first because unmet needs can manifest as anger. 21. "I can't stand by and watch": ADHD, unfairness & justice sensitivity
Hi cutest babes, In this week's episode, Tara has been stealthily avoiding sleep by hyperfixating on iPhone automations and she is now Elon Musk 😎. Or is she just in denial that she's Siri's bitch now? 🤖 Grace is ripping clocks off the wall in rage as per uge. So a fairly stock standard week here at ‘Your ADHD besties’ HQ (the garage). THIS WEEK'S DILEMMA:We take a deep dive into the biiiig topic of justice sensitivity: why some of us can have full body reactions to inequity. We explain:WTAF justice sensitivity is, and why ADHDers are often passionate about standing up for the marginalizedWe then share some personal stories from times we've advocated and got it right (and when we got it wrong too).We talk about the importance of seeking consent, awareness when we may be projecting our feelings onto others, and making sure we don't burn outThe best part: we hear some listener stories about their experience with this common ADHD trait! 🕺 IREGGY SEGGY: Today we're reading out weird notes from our notes app - and we want you to send us yours! YOU BETTER DM us on IG @adhdbestiespodcast or email us [email protected] with screenshots of the weirdest notes in your phone so we can read them out on an ep soon 🤣RECS:Grace recommends two binge-worthy Instagram accounts that soothe her need for visually gorgeous ASMR... 19. ADHD: Weight & Eating (Part 1)
Hi bestie babessss! In today's episode:• Grace can’t buy steak, we talk about we need to take a break from acrylics, and how this is hard for our dermatillomania (skin picking).• Divergent Dilemma #1 - we answer Jemima's question about ADHD and eating, she struggles with binge eating and feeling self-conscious about her weight. We discuss weight stigma, separating self worth and weight, weight-science -using more clear measures of health. We also touch on restriction mentality and how this can so easily lead to binge eating in women with ADHD.IREGGY SEGGY:• We are still riding the high of reading ADHD reddit threads. We have dogs laughing at us, accidental DIY/accents, arms in bins and most importantly we ask the question: how many days is too many days to eat an errant hand bag donut?RECOMMENDATIONS:• Tara recommends hair skin and nail gummies to keep those nails strong and less likely to be picked at • Grace recommends a supermarket shopping hack for ADHD brains that even the most inattentive brains won’t ‘rump’. 18. Impulse borrowing, exercise & 😂 ADHD Reddit rants
Hi bestiesss! In today's episode:• Grace has ADHD amnesia, and we're normalising second takes at things because we aren’t always prepared for what our mouths are going to say in social interactions. • Divergent Dilemma #1 - we answer a gorgeous listener question about motivating yourself for exercise when you have ADHD. We talk about the negative stigmas around the word exercise, why exercise often induces demand avoidance and how to find joyful movement, and immediate, non-appearance-based motivators for movement.• Divergent Dilemma #2 - We discuss time management with ADHD, how people with ADHD usually won’t see time in a linear way, that we see it differently in our minds. How to be kind to ourselves around our inconsistency with time and some tips that sometimes help us to manage our time, like counting down from the LEAVE time not ARRIVAL times. IREGGY SEGGY:• A listener sent us the idea for our IREGGY SEGGY this week, it’s called ‘Reddit Rants’ and we’re obsessed 🙌We snoop ADHD Reddit threads that ask ‘what have you misplaced or lost’ as an ADHDer and the threads did not disappoint. 😂We have toast left in drawers, bikes unnecessarily reported to the police and very disorientating naps. RECOMMENDATIONS:• Tara recommends using the public library (we promise this is more exciting than it sounds, babes)• Grace recommends a Waterpik to floss those pearly whites without the sensory overwhelm of rogue water splatters and flimsy floss situations. We will be back in those divine👂's next THURSDAYLOVE YOU Tara & Grace xx(don't RSD)----------------------------🦋 WANT MORE ADHD BESTIES? 17. ADHD stigma, when to advocate, and why re-parenting yourself helps
Hiii cutest ADHD loves! In today's episode:• We talk about the highs of kid-free holidays with friends and the lows of losing your 🧳 on the trip home (💌 don't forget to send Tara your triumphant stories of lost things you found months/years later - DM us on IG @adhdbestiespodcast!) • Divergent Dilemma #1 - we answer a cute voice message from Holly asking how to advocate for herself after a recent ADHD diagnosis. Our discussion brings up some important questions: When people say ADHD is just laziness, how should we respond? What if advocating feels exhausting? Is it okay to walk away from some conversations without speaking up? Are there different ways to advocate if in-person feels too intense?• Divergent Dilemma #2 - an anon listener shares a recent moment during a vacation where she felt judged by a passive-aggressive comment by her mother-in-law. We talk about emotional regulation when ADHDers feel misunderstood or judged, and Tara & Grace share how learning to re-parent ourselves has been sooo helpful in moments like this.• We're putting on our cleats and warming up for this week's Ireggy Seggy... 🥇 The ADHD Olympics 🥇 where we bring you along with us to watch the highly-anticipated event: the room cleaning marathon, where ADHDers compete to see who can get the most distracted while cleaning. Our competitors are fiercer than ever, and pulling out techniques we've never seen before - so tune in for all the on-field (court?) action! 🏃♀️🧹🧺✨RECOMMENDATIONS:• Tara recommends cast iron frypans/skillets as an easy way to up your iron intake (important since ADHDers are often low in iron).• Grace recommends actually using the weighted blanket you impulse-purchased back when you got diagnosed - it's doing wonders for regulating her nervous system and helping with deep sleep.Enjoyyy this episode, and we'll be back in your cute little👂's next MONDAY with our next instalment of our new mini-series, Your ADHD Island! 🏝️Sending so much love!Tara & Grace xx(don't RSD!)----------------------------🦋 WANT MORE ADHD BESTIES? Hiii ADHD cuties tuning in from what is now 104 countries! 🤯😘On today's show:• Grace has 3 very important updates that she's bursting to tell us• Are we still in burnout? What's been helping us climb out of it?? Has Tara got a refund for her marathon registration yet? (The answer won’t surprise you) What change-room moment saw Grace making an ‘ADHD math' speech to convince her husband? And WHAT did Tara snatch out of Grace's box? THESE ARE THE EXTREMELY IMPORTANT QUESTIONS WE NEED ANSWERS TO. • Dilemma #1 - An adorable anonymous listener asks for advice on RSD (rejection sensitivity dysphoria) around dating: she's a late-blooming lesbian going back into the dating world in her 40s and struggling with overthinking and texting RSD (hi it me 🙋♀️) 🫠 • Dilemma #2 - A cute listener called Kelsi asks a double-barrelled dilemma (we LOVE!) about 'hermit mode': being stuck on the couch doom scrolling and lacking the motivation to go outside, AND ALSO the never-ending parade of crafty hobbies she starts and never finishes. • This week's Ireggy Seggy is our new fave, called "TPR", where we pick famous TV characters and ponder whether they are a Timon, Pumba or Rafiki... the robust, scientific discussion we're always proud to bring you on the podcast. 🤓REC LINKS:• Tara recommends PVD tarnish-free, waterproof jewellery as an excellent and affordable option compared to gold jewellery. Brands she loves: Hey Harper, Bohomoon and Atolea.• Grace recommends all 3 of the Hannah Gadsby Netflix comedy specials, especially Nanette. We'll be back with a SPECIAL SURPRISE next Thursday babes!Until then... your ADHD besties,👱🏻♀️ Grace & 👩🏻🦱 Tara xx(Don't RSDDD!)----------------------------🦋 WANT MORE ADHD BESTIES? Hiiiiii fave babes! ✨In today's episode we're in ADHD burnout mode but that's okayyy!• We ‘AB-SOLUTELY’ discuss how Tara’s inability to feel time had her believing she could go from running 0km to 42km in the space of 3 months 😮💨 and Grace shares her obsession with Love Island/reality TV in general and why it's a balm for her soul.• Divergent Dilemma - We half answer two gorgeous listener’s questions about managing the work life balance as ADHDers, as well as what ADHD burnout feels like, and celebrating the inconsistency of ADHD energy. • In this week's Ireggy Seggy we shudder through various DERANGED "choose your torture" scenarios sent in by YOUR cute brains, and Tara shares a fact that will change the way you think about bird feathers/dream catchers forever. 🪶Our Recs/unrecs? this week:• Tara recommends "ocean mangoes" - trust us, it’s a sticky-less, dripless heaven that you will want to experience. She also does the most ADHD thing ever and submits her first official "rec retraction", because a show she previously recommended unexpectedly went very sideways. You'll need to listen to find out. 👀• Grace recommends a HEAVENLY zucchini/courgette pasta recipe that A-list++ celebrity Stanley Tucci said changed his life (and has now changed Grace's 🍝), and some cute person conveniently wrote down the recipe on their blog which is linked here: Click for carbs!Sending you all love and balanced neurochemical vibes until we are back in your beguiling👂's next THURSDAY!Your ADHD Besties,Grace & Tara xxDon’t RSD PLZ! 🛑----------------------------🦋 WANT MORE ADHD BESTIES? We discuss why skin picking and nail biting is an ADHD 'stim', and is very NORMAL and nothing to be ashamed about. Plus we give our tips on how to look after your nails, seek medical help to prevent things getting worse, and be kinder to your gorgeous self.• Divergent Dilemma #2 - a recently diagnosed AuDHDer (an autism & ADHD diagnosis) called "Lonewolf" shares that she has had trouble across her life making and keeping friends. RSD has been debilitating for her and means she can push people away and be sarcastic when she feels excluded. We unpack the big themes in this one, and our Autistic friend Nina, also offers a valuable perspective.• This week's Ireggy Seggy is a brand new one called 'ADHD or NayDHD: The Bird Edition' 🐦 where we ponder the extremely overlooked scientific question: which birds are ADHD?RECOMMENDATIONS:• Grace recommends a genius strategy she's stumbled upon when she needs her husband to explain something boring like finances (spoiler: it actually makes her listen!)• Tara recommends GLAMRDIP nails - a great solution if you want to stop nail biting or skin picking! Do at home, limited chemical smells and ADHD friendly! 💅Enjoyyy, and we'll be back in your 👂's next THURSDAY babes!Your ADHD Besties,Tara & Grace xx(don't RSD)----------------------------🦋 WANT MORE ADHD BESTIES?
