I don't ever want to feel that way again and you don't have to either.When we experience childhood pain/trauma, it often gets stuck in our body as an emotional , physical, and mental blockage. The shock of the pain is stuck because we are unable to feel and work through the pain especially the emotional pain—we do not have the skills to , to process it alone . We become terrified of feeling helplessness and our only response is to shut down. Many people feel numb after trauma and close their hearts. They go into survival mode when triggered and find other survival skill to escape from or wallow in the helplessness.
