14th March 2025 Christians under siege in Syria and Democratic Republic of Congo
Topic for discussion this morning, somewhat of a somber topic, and many Christians in South Africa asking why there's not a bigger outcry for what's happening to Christians in our so-called modern day society. In recent months, the Democratic Republic of Congo, the DRC and Syria have witnessed alarming escalations in violence and murder and killings against Christian communities. In the DRC, suspected militants from the Allied Democratic Forces brutally beheaded 70 Christians in a Protestant church in Kasanga, Lombardo territory. That happened on the 13th of this year. The atrocity is part of a series of attacks that have led to the displacement of thousands and the closure of numerous churches and schools. Meanwhile, in Syria, the fall of Bashar al-Assad's regime has precipitated sectarian violence, particularly targeting the Alawite communities. Reports indicate that thousands of Alawite civilians have been massacred in the coastal regions with entire families, including women and children, executed and abused. The United Nations documented only 111 civilian deaths, strangely enough, though the actual death toll is believed to be in the thousands. Now, that being said, the concurrent crisis underscored the urgent need for international attention and intervention to protect vulnerable communities and promote peace. The old saying, for evil to prosper, good man has to do nothing. Question remains, what is it that you and I as Christians can do with regards to our ever shrinking world in which we can live out our Christian freedom? Do stay tuned as we'll be chatting to some experts and organizations working in these countries right after this. Brandpunt

7 March 2025 Brandpunt Government want to regulate Religion in SA.
Something of note that we thought let's bring it to the light and talk about it is the chair of the CRL Rights Commission, Mrs Toku Makwanasi-Gravula, who announced that she's forming a committee to push legislation through Parliament to implement a system for the state to regulate religion. You heard me right. So in a recent interview on News Africa, she proposed the establishment of a state-appointed peer review committee determined to, whether not grant individuals a license to work as religious practitioners or to operate as a church and have the authority to suspend or dismiss religious leaders found guilty of wrongdoing. That in itself is a debate for another day. But with this in mind, we approached the CEO of Freedom of Religion South Africa, Michael Swain, to ask him a lot of questions with regards to the state's intention to regulate religion then in South Africa. Don't stray or go away. We'll have Mr. Michael Swain online right after this. Brandpunt

Today, we are talking to Daniela Ellerbeck, Legal Advisor to Freedom of Religion South Africa (or “FOR SA” for short), about the Department of Home Affairs’ new single marriage law, commonly known as the “Marriage Bill”. The Bill has been the subjected of much debate in the religious community and was open for the public’s comment until 31 August 2023. Brandpunt The truth about addiction
Brandpunt spoke to Dr Ado Krige from House Regeneration about the dangers of addiction and also share a testimony of some one we'll just call Michael. https://www.hr7.co.za/ Dr W.A. Krige Founding Director In 1985, 24 years before the birth of the first regeneration centre, Ado started working with drug addicts in the streets of Pretoria. Over the next two decades his vision would reach out to thousands of people of all ages, nations, creeds and colour suffering from substance abuse throughout Southern Africa. Ado wanted to share with others the good news of how he had been set free from his own drug addictions, and was fully convinced that this news would be able to break the chains that holds many in bondage today….. Ado would spend the next 25 years studying, researching, coaching and helping others in the area of overcoming substance abuse through the love and power found in the Word of God. After extensively talking to, and counselling people throughout South Africa, he realised the largest contributing factor keeping people away from living a life in freedom was their own mind sets and belief systems. Being totally and completely sold on the truth of Jesus Christ, Ado would then set off to find a purely bible based and addict centred approach to therapy. Eventually he enrolled in an online B. Min degree and later on was allowed to enroll in Therapon University for a PhD in Biblical Counseling with Belief Therapy as a major. You can get more information about Belief Therapy from our “The Program” page. Dr Krige did not stop at this, he went on to study, and apply various different therapy methodologies from authorities in the field of biblical therapy, amongst others are Dr. Jay Adams, Dr. Wayne Mack, John C Broger and Adam Pulaski. A synergy of 25 odd years of counseling together with these studies specifically aimed at biblical counseling for substance dependency, have become what is today the voice of Dr Ado Krige. Dr Krige has become an authority in his own right on this subject in Southern Africa and can regularly be seen and heard on South African T.V and radio talk shows. He is also well respected by various church organisations nationally as an expert on combating drug addiction, satanism and witchcraft. E-mail: [email protected] Mobile: 083 226 2319 Brandpunt

Geweld in opvoedkundinge instellings
Ons hoop hierdie vrae dien as 'n Brandpunt

The Multi Cultural Church in South Africa
The church is called to be both an instrument and sign of the kingdom of God. As an instrument, the church is God’s agent in the world showing and sharing the love of Jesus to a broken and hurting world. And as a sign, the church points to the kingdom of God, acting as a credible witness to its reality and power. People are supposed to look at the church and say, “That’s what the kingdom of God looks like.” In this sense, it’s a window into the kingdom encouraging others to join the fellowship of faith, bound together in Christ. Revelation 7 says men and women will gather around the throne of God for eternity, and they will come from every tribe, tongue, and nation. But when we look across the landscape of churches around the world and in South Africa in particular , most are far too monocultural. There’s a lot of talk in our churches and among pastors, leaders, and scholars about the need for our churches to be more multi-ethnic and multicultural. But it’s not often accomplished. Pursuing diversity is a good thing. But we must be clear what we are talking about. A church can be multi-ethnic if it has persons of different ethnic backgrounds who attend. But if people of various ethnic groups listen to the same music, eat the same foods, hang out at the same entertainment venues, and go to church together, that’s not multicultural. They have assimilated to a common culture. It may be multi-ethnic, but it’s still monocultural. Join Brandpunt this morning in the pursuit of God’s multi-cultural church here on earth. Brandpunt
