Ep. 37 - Financially Free to Embrace Generosity with Danielle Foxx

Danielle tells about her newest calling to dive even deeper with accounting and help businesses generate purposeful generosity into their budget. With her faith as her guide, she is embracing this call and becoming a bridge to link businesses with non-profits to create win-win scenarios that allow both to thrive not only in regards to their finances but also to grow their impact! I’m so thankful to Danielle for being this light in the accounting world and I know she will spark many great things. You can utilize her generosity planning freebie from her website! ABOUT DANIELLE: http://www.4faccounting.net 4 Keys to purposeful generosity: https://4faccounting.systeme.io/purposefulgiving I've been working in the accounting field since my junior year of high school, and don't recall wanting to do anything different. After college, I worked for several years in corporate accounting before taking a few years off to be home with my children. During that time I began working from home just a few hours a week supporting various business owners, mostly from my church connections, with bookkeeping services. As my kids grew, I rejoined the full time corporate accounting scene but kept working with a few of my private clients on the side. Now my oldest is married (he and his wife are in the navy), and my middle son and youngest daughter are in college, about 4 hours from where my husband and I reside in SC. I currently work FT as a Controller for an IT consulting company - and also maintain my own business, 4F Accounting Associates, providing solopreneurs and non-profit leaders with financial administration solutions. I believe our businesses are meant to do more than make a profit, they're meant to make a difference - to impact lives for God. This means that discussions with my clients include topics like purposeful generosity, which essentially means incorporating a defined plan for giving into their financial strategy. My long-term dream is to be able to connect for profit business owners with nonprofits that need corporate sponsors, so I'm not just helping clients build a giving plan, but also providing introductions that enable them to walk out those plans and expand their impact in the lives of others. Ep. 19 - Mastering Strategies for Building an Authentic Online Presence with Jillian Murphy

On this episode, my friend and past mentor, Jillian Murphy and I discuss the importance of building an authentic online presence and personal branding in marketing. Like me, Jillian is adamant about the need to be true to yourself and not overcomplicate things, and to show up as ourselves rather than trying to mimic others or follow trends. We also brought up some caution against sharing too much personal information, which can have the reverse affect and make you appear unprofessional and unreliable. There is a delicate balance between authenticity and professionalism in an online presence and in this episode we shared intentional ways to achieve this balance. We suggest sharing personal stories from a place of growth and learning, which can strengthen your brand and build trust with your audience. Jillian is a powerhouse in this area, which is why I was so grateful to get her on this episode to share her insight and experience with you. Ultimately, this is the episode to listen to for how to bring tangible value to your audience, and you’ll find many tips on how to do so in ways that strengthen your brand. Ep. 18 - The Realities of Turning Passions into Profits for a Life You Love with Wendy Verwey

This episode is with one of my besties, Wendy Verwey, and I loved having her for a variety of reasons, but the best part is that her story is truly valuable and inspiring for the person thinking of starting side hustles or turning a passion into a profitable business. Wendy shares her journey of taking control of her money and retiring early as a single mom, and now helping others monetize what they love, develop other revenue streams, and create fulfilling lives. We discussed various income streams that people have found success with, such as selling digital resources or dog-sitting (in her case), and how these align with their values and interests. There is a vital component to anything you decide to turn into a business - it must align with your values! In this episode, we dive into the importance of knowing yourself in order to translate that into your work and find success with business and developing your brand. Most businesses are built on solving a problem for someone and providing a solution or result. So, we discussed the process of finding your ideal business idea, utilizing skills and interests you already have, trying different things, and not being afraid to ask for help or suggestions from others. We really want to encourage our listeners to explore their passions and talents to find a business idea that is both fulfilling and profitable because there in lies true success. And as Wendy says, “creating a life you don’t need a vacation from”. There is such a need right now for us to shift in our ways of working, to slow down, to commit to showing up for ourselves and our businesses, and align our marketing strategies with our strengths and passions rather than jumping on trends and over-learning all the pathways to success. In this mastermind program, you’ll learn the significance of setting higher standards, building better habits, and prioritizing faith and relationships. The aim of this mastermind is to provide a space for personal growth, embracing challenges, and finding support and accountability, with a strong emphasis on integrating faith into every aspect of life and business. I invite you to join the mastermind. I’m excited for the transformative impact it can have on your life and your business. Reserve your spot here: https://lauraglassdesigns.com/embracing-excellence

Ep. 8 - How to Transform Your Life By Embracing Your Passion & Setting Boundaries with Emily Jacobs

Laura and Emily share their stories from motherhood and business about how they learned to set boundaries, often the hard way, and that doing so created a better lifestyle. Boundaries often require a level of communication with others and confidence in yourself, which then gives you the opportunity to respect the other person as well as yourself. Emily talks about how she shifted from her career in nursing to empowering moms in her town and beyond. With the coaching, events (her first in-person event happened this year and had over 100 women in attendance!) and programs she is doing to help moms, Emily is reframing the feelings we have that challenge us, keep us stuck and powerless in our lives into opportunities for growth and the ability to live our best lives. She has a program starting December 1st called More Than Mom, which is a 12-week program for moms to work through and uncover the mindsets that have been keeping them stuck so that they can change them into freedom giving opportunities for improvement. This is a space for moms to truly get to their roots and embrace new modalities to experience growth and empowerment. She encourages you to know that you will have so much more success, you will feel so much better and you will achieve so much more, when you step into your own very own power and become who you are, loving who you are, being who you are meant to be. Ep. 6 - Unlocking Business Success with Facebook and Instagram Ads: Tips and Strategies with Emily Wood

In this meeting, Emily Wood and Laura Glass discuss the benefits of using Facebook and Instagram ads for businesses. They emphasize the importance of knowing your audience and having an offer that already sells before running ads. Emily recommends starting with lead ads to grow email lists and testing multiple audiences at a time if the budget allows. Laura highlights the importance of email lists and how Facebook and Instagram ads can help get in front of people more effectively, especially with the use of attention-grabbing hooks. They stress the importance of catching people's attention with the image and copy, and suggest using pre-made templates and screen-shotting ads for inspiration. They both agree that ads should be concise and tailored to the audience, and suggest experimenting with different approaches to see what works best. The speakers also discuss the benefits of Facebook's AI technology in finding higher quality traffic for lead and sales ads. They explain how Facebook studies people who respond to ads and finds more people like them, while highlighting the importance of testing and running ads to take advantage of Facebook's ability to remember and find more people who engage with the ad. They suggest that Facebook ads can be a valuable tool for expanding a business, but it is important to have a clear strategy and to be willing to learn and adapt along the way. Ep. 3 - Align With Yourself First, Choose Your Strategy Second

Being in a good state within yourself, including confidence, feeling capable, and feeling like this is the right thing for your is such an amazing feeling because it actually empowers you to move forward doing what is the best thing for you. I realized that no matter how much strategy I learned form various business, I lacked the alignment to truly move forward in a way that I could sustain. So, now I take a much different approach. I work to be in alignment first, having the right conditions to play on my strengths first then choosing a strategy that works with that. I think the same approach can be powerful for you, especially if you haven't had much success sticking with strategy only.
