26.) WHAT IS YOUR HARD?/ HOW TO GROW THROUGH THESE MOMENTS OR SEAONS OF LIFE
Hey friends!Welcome back to another week, another episode, and another opportunity to GROW! Today's episode get's pretty real, pretty honest, and to the point. I share some really personal things I have been going through and how I am having to work through them. We all have hard days, hard moments, hard seasons of life but everyone's hard is all they know. What may seem or feel hard to you may look easy to someone else. That is why we cannot compare or undermine someone else's hard bc you think you could handle it or you wish your life was like theirs bc that sounds better than what you have. That is the wrong mentality to have. I know this episode will encourage you, confirms that your hard IS hard, and how you can choose to grow from and through it. The hard days are what help us grow, to make changes, and to question what we've been doing. Ask God to help you prioritize what needs to be your top priorities in this season of your life and lay the other things before Him. 25.) WHAT FOODS SUGAR IS HIDING IN/HOW IT’S MAKING US SICK/EASY SWAPS/HOW TO BREAK THE ADDICTION
Hi friends! This episode is going to be so good, I can't wait for you to listen in. I know you know that sugar is not something that's going to help our health and well being in the long run but also can't live without it. So how do we navigate it exactly? Well, I talk in this episode about the psychology behind why sugar is so addicting, how we have been led blindly by the food industry, how to become your own best advocate, and ways to avoid the excess intake. I share easy swaps, how to check labels, what foods contain added sugars that maybe you would have never thought would, and so much more. I get a little fired up, haha, but what's new? I am passionate about bringing truth to you all, shedding light on the lies we've been fed, and putting the power in your hands. I really think you'll like this one and you'll probably think of a few others who you need to share this with too. I hope this is eye opening, encouraging, and motivating. Email me or message me with any comments or questions. Would love to hear your feedback. 23.) BUDGETING FOR A HEALTHY LIFESTYLE/HOW TO SHIFT YOUR HABITS TO ALLOW FOR THIS
Hey Hey!Welcome back to another episode. You guys, I am PUMPED about this one. It was requested as a topic by one of my listeners and at first I resisted it but I knew it needed to be talked about. 22.) Leadership in Motherhood/Raising little People/ Taking Ownership of your Role as a Mom
Hey there! This one is for the Momma's out there and those of you who desire to be a Mom someday. It's never too soon to fill your mind and resource bank with encouragement, wisdom, and advice from other Mom's. I hope to be that Momma for you, that I can display all my successful moments and completely hard/raw and real moments so you can have a safe space to come to for support and encouragement. Today I was inspired by this topic from a John Maxwell leadership podcast I was listening to on a long run. It really was targeted for business people and big companies but I felt God speaking to me right through it saying, "Gabby, this is exactly your role in Motherhood" Equipping little people and leading them! I can't wait for you to listen and be even more encouraged in your role as a Mom. We get pretty deep and I for sure am speaking to myself just as much as I am you. You are doing great Mama and I can't wait to watch you step into your leadership role even more after today's episode. 21.)Einkorn Flour/ Healthiest Flour You Can Use/How To Use This Ancient Grain/ Health Benefits
Upload from 8/15/22 Hi friends! It feels good to be back! I missed chatting with you all. This episode is probably going to be very eye opening and filled with some new and educating info! We are going to be talking about the Ancient Grain of ALL grains...Einkorn Flour. I know, it's a funny name, and you're like why are we talking about flour? Well, this ain't just your ordinary baking flour. We dive deep into the makeup of this flour, how it's different from conventional flours/wheats, all it's health benefits, and MORE! I learned about this flour a couple years back when I dove into making sourdough. A lady I was learning from was talking about it and I decided to look into it and was amazed at how I had never heard of this nutritious flour before. The neat part is this flour can be tolerated by most Gluten Free people! I am not GF myself but know many who are and this is game changer. Now, I am no doctor and do not claim or give medical advice so please make your best informed decision or talk to your care provider if you are considering this. Gluten allergies and sensitivities are all different and if you have Celiac this is NOT a recommended flour. Just needed to make that known, and I do chat about it in the episode. You are going to learn SO much and I hope this prompts you to hopefully get yourself some and start trying it out and implementing it into your diet. I have made so many yummy things with it as well as use it in a blend of flours when making my sourdough. It has a golden color with a rich nutty flavor. Absolutely delicious. 19.) Navigating Change / How Facing Resistance Can Produce Growth
Upload from 7/18/22 Hey Guys!Welcome back to another week's episode. This one seemed to be a BIG request so I am guessing this one is really going to encourage you guys and bless you in many ways. I take time in this episode to share a summarized version of all the change that I experienced in my life. Each change brought different seasons of life, different areas to grow in, many trials, a lot of pain, many unanswered questions, but A TON of growth. I am not the person I am today without my past and neither are you my friend. Life can feel heavy and like it's all happening to you but I pray that sharing a bit of my story, some encouraging verses, and being vulnerable with my journey can help you process and begin to move forward in whatever season of life you are in.God doesn't waste anything if you choose to allow him to use your trials and pain for growth and purpose. It get's wasted when we choose to let it be, blame others or things, fall victim, believe lies, stay still, and stay comfortable. We get to help others go through similar trials when we can relate and share our own testimony of how we fought our way through and how God sustained you.Enjoy this episode to the fullest,Gabby If you liked this podcast and found value here today it would mean a lot if you would hit subscribe and if you scroll down on my show you can leave a rating and review which would mean SO much and help more and more people find this podcast. 18.) What Snacks To Give To Your Kids/How To Raise Your Kids Around Healthy Habits
Upload from 7/11/22 This episode is FULL of juicy content. Even if you are not a parent, this is for anyone who works with children, works with parents, takes care of grandbabies, etc. Anyone who has influence in children's lives this is the episode for YOU! Food is fuel. Food is medicine. Food and help or it can hurt. Children are at such crucial developing stages from conception to age 5 (and of course beyond as well but not at such high speed). What we feed our children matters just like what we feed us as adults matter. We want to raise health conscious children who understand why certain foods are better than others for their bodies. Am I saying they can never have an oreo, pizza, chips, a soda? No. Those are in moderation and also require conversations to be had around them. We want our kids to have a good relationship with food and their bodies and not pick up on the habits formed over the years and passed down from one generation to the next. In this episode we chat a lot about ingredients to watch out for in your kids snacks, why mealtime is important, what you should consider buying for snack options, and how to have big conversations around the foods we eat in ways that our kids can easily understand. I know this will be SUPER helpful for you guys, especially you Moms. May you be encouraged, inspired, and convicted to take some action no matter how small. One step at a time is all that's needed. We are in this together. Raising resilient, healthy, and confident children. Be blessed this week. 17.) Social Media Burnout/Feeling Overwhelmed By The Noise In The World/Less Consuming More Creating
Upload from 7/4/22 Hello hello!Welcome back to another episode! This week is a quickie but one that is straight from the heart and touches on things I have been pondering and feeling lately. A lot of heavy things have been going on in the world since 2020 and it has definitely grabbed a hold of so many of our hearts and minds. While there is definitely a time and space for having productive conversations and voicing your opinions for purpose, I don't know that it's helpful for everyone under the sun to be doing so online. Do yourself a favor and just check in with how being online is making you feel. How much are you consuming vs how much are you creating or just living in the moments of life free from distractions of the world. We set ourselves up for failure when we keep that dang phone near us all the time and start and end our day with it. We must do better bc you deserve better. Free your mind, your thoughts, your emotions and just be present in your home and relationships right in front of you. Set up boundaries for your intake of social media or the news, some of it is healthy and ok but we definitely over consume on it.May you find peace and freedom this summer by letting go little by little from the pull and draw of the internet and the noise in the world. It is heavy, it is a lot, and we weren't meant to carry it all. Do your part and follow the promptings of your heart if you feel the call to lead and take action but with purpose and in an honorable and respectable manner. I pray this message blesses you this week. Have a wonderful Independence Day. 11.) Four Ways to Thrive More in Your Motherhood Journey/Finding Ways to Prioritize You As a Mom
Upload 5/23/22Hey there! This one is for you Mama's out there! Becoming a Mom is the most beautiful thing in the world but I'm sure it's left you worn out, a little stressed, and stuck in the mundane of keeping little people alive. I hear ya, I have 3 of my own and I wouldn't trade it for anything. I wanted to share with you today 4 things that I have found to be helpful in my Motherhood journey. We are going to chat about prioritizing sleep or trying to get up earlier so you can start your day with a little quiet and an actual hot cup of coffee. I know, you're like, what is sleep Gabby? haha Just hear me out and I hope you can find the right balance and willingness to make it happen no matter the season you are in.When you became a Mom you took on a whole new identity you never had before. I don't want you forget who YOU are though, so alongside Motherhood how can you bring in a passion or interest that lights you up? What else will give you purpose each day? Your kids will benefit greatly from seeing a Mom get excited about something she loves to do and you can get them involved too depending on what it is.Find 1,2, or 3 women in your life who you can confide in. Relationships offline that will respond to a call or text or meet you anytime for a cup of coffee or at the park with your kids. You need a space to process, get help, and a safe space to be vulnerable. We carry so much as Mom's and I'm sure you are like me and think we can do it all and that we are fine. We eventually hit a breaking point and that is why I encourage you to find your tribe who's shoulders you can lean on in hard times and who will give sound advice and pray over you. If that's your Mom, then that is awesome but I understand not everyone has that kind of relationship with their Mom. Last but NOT least...your nutrition! You must set yourself up for success each day with what you choose to put in your body. It all compounds over time and if you are wondering why you have low energy, moody, anxious, overwhelmed, can't sleep, etc. then it's time to check your nutrition. It is a game changer for Mom's who want to be on top of things and feel their best. You have high energy little people to keep up with, to wake up to in the middle of the night, a house to clean, meals to make, jobs to go to....and one way you can navigate that all is by making sure you are fueling your body with purpose. Motherhood is no sprint, it's a marathon and it requires so much of you and that requires intentional fueling. I hope you were encouraged today and can leave here feeling more equipped to tackle each day as a Mom. Your job is so important and I see you! Pick just one or two things from this list and begin implementing them into your life and watch how things change for the better! We all want to be happier and healthier Mamas! 10.) Part 1. Ins and Outs of Macros/ How to Use Food For Fuel/Avoid the Bad Habits
Upload From 5/16/22Hey Guys!I can't wait to chat with you today about a topic that really opened my eyes to how I was fueling my body and what was in the foods I was eating on a regular basis. We are chatting about Macros, short for Macronutrients, and they are made up of Fats, Proteins, and Carbohydrates. Basically, it's what makes up the foods we eat. I realized there is so much more to cover on this topic but it would be a long one so we will make this part 1 and circle back to more about this. 9.) Celebrating Your Wins/Overcoming The Need For Perfection/How To Stop Chasing the Next Thing
Upload from 5/9/22Hey Friends!Welcome to today's episode where we unpack a lot! I started off by reading out of a book I have been going through called "Millionaire Mindset Habits" by Dean Graziosi and I was just so inspired with the couple pages I was reading that I wanted to share it with you and talk about it. You can find this awesome book HERELet me just say that I struggle in my own areas of what we talk about today so this was so helpful for me to process out loud too. So often I find myself not giving much credit or attention to the things I have accomplished, rather I am happy for a moment but then start trying to find the next things to work on.Are you ever in a constant state of feeling like you are never enough? Trying to be good at everything and focus on having the perfect marriage, perfect body, perfect health, perfect relationships, perfect in you job...you will get burnt out my friend. NO ONE is perfect, we were not created to be good at it all and try and keep up with the "next thing." So often when we find ourselves accomplishing a huge goal, say you have hit your weight loss or wellness goals, but then you look back and see the areas in your life that took a hit while you were so focused on that and you get down on yourself. WHY?I'm not saying I have the right answer but can we just stop feeling less than? God does not think or speak that way of you and neither should you. We go through different seasons and phases of life that shift our focus and our priorities and when we try to be superwoman and take on it all and think we can show up 100% in every area in life we burn out. So I pray this episode blesses you, causes you to truly celebrate the things you've done, not stress over what area you need to perfect in your life next is, and to be content in the seasons of life God has you in. Stop chasing the ideals or what the world deems as "perfect" No one will ever arrive there so enjoy the journey and each stepping stone in life that makes you be a more happy human. Follow what lights you up and focus on that. I was totally you and now that I have learned some things I can't unlearn it or un-see it. I can't buy the conventional eggs anymore, I physically can't pick them up haha! I know too much now, so now I am passing my knowledge on to you so you can make the best informed decision for your family. I am all about informed decisions and never telling anyone this is the way or the right way because I recognize not everyone cares or prioritizes the same things I do. But, what I have found to mostly be true is that people just didn't know and after knowing or learning something would actually choose differently. That's why I do what I do so that I can help make a long lasting impact on you and your family's health and wellbeing. With that said we are breaking down the difference between:Conventional (caged, given antibiotics, NO space, sit in their own poo!)Organic (no cages, fed an organic feed, not guaranteed much space or outdoor access)Cage Free (aren’t caged but are often packed together indoors, no diet regulations, regulated by the USDA)Free Range (Same as cage free but just have the option to go outside)Pasture Raised (Free Roaming, full outdoor access whenever they want, not regulated by the USDA, more nutritional value)Whew! That is a lot to navigate, so tune in and maybe take some notes if you feel so inclined. We will dive a bit deeper in to each, what brands to look for, and where to find them. I hope this is eye opening and encouraging for you. If you found this helpful PLEASE share it with someone you know and leave a review on the show. I am SO grateful for all the support. 7.) THREE BASIC WAYS YOU CAN IMPROVE YOUR HEALTH,FOR FREE,HOW MUCH PROTEIN TO BE EATING
** Upload from 4/28/22 **What is up my friends?! I am super pumped for today's episode bc it is loaded with practical ways you can start improving your health FOR FREE. And you can begin this starting today. These kinds of topics are my favorite because I absolutely love helping others learn how to lead a healthy lifestyle that is manageable and not out of reach or over complicated. It brings me back to my macro coaching days if any of you listening here were ever a part of that. I have gained so much insight to the diet culture world and had to unlearn a lot of unhelpful advice and information that I was given. I am here to break the mold, question what society says you should be doing, and shine some light on topics revolving around food, diet, wellness, and more. With that being said here's what 3 things I shared with you: 1. - Fasting (opt. paired with walking or light movement) Don't freak out, I'm not asking your to give up food for 24 hours or anything here. I share a general rule of thumb that is totally doable for anyone bc you are asleep most of the time you will be fasting. 12-14 hours is all for a basic starting point and that is healthy for women. I talk about the benefits of it and how pairing it with low intensity walking or biking can tap in to those fat stores. 2.- Protein Intake. Are you eating enough? Probably not. If you want to lose some weight, gain some muscle, and feel less hungry then this will help. Focus on adding in .5-.8g of protein per lb of bodyweight. ( ex. 135lb person would eat anywhere between 67-108g of protein) and for someone who is active, works out a lot, or wants to gain muscle close to .8g-1g protein per lb of bodyweight is ideal. We talk about why and some great sources and tips to try and fit it into your daily eating routine. 3. - Sugar Intake. We want to be mindful of our sugar consumption to set our body up for success. You'd be amazing how addicted we really are when we try to eliminate certain sources of sugar. It's ok to have but just be sure you are reading labels and understanding how much of the things you are buying contain sugar and how much a serving size is. This will reduce inflammation in the body, release weight, and just make you feel better in general. Your body will thank you. I hope you found this episode helpful and an encouragement that you CAN do this and start feeling better and achieving your wellness goals. If you haven't yet shared the show with someone you know would love this content it would mean so much if you'd send them a friendly message and why you thought of them. 6.) HOW TO HAVE GRACE WITH YOURSELF BUT STILL SHOW UP/IT’S OK TO HAVE AN OFF DAY
** Upload from 4/18/22**Hey friends!Well, this is the first episode where I cried, which I am sure there will be more like that to come. I am not here to hide the emotions or be embarrassed by them even if I am a little nervous to let this out in the world. When I recorded this I was just having an off week and really struggling with showing up in certain areas of life. I tried recording a podcast one day and just did not feel right about it so I just laid it all aside for the day and decided I would try again when I felt I was in a better frame of mind. I hopped back on the next day and decided to just chat about the exact thing I was experiencing and going through. This was my whole goal in having this podcast and being able to use it as an outlet to be relatable and real with you all. So, that's what I did! Today you will hear me first talk about a very raw moment that brings up a lot of emotion when talked about. I am not far removed from losing my best friend to cancer and I had a flood of emotions hit me while preparing for this episode. I share where I am at, how hard it can be to know when to have grace on yourself, what showing up in life can still look like even on the hard days, being proud of what you have accomplished, and how being an enneagram 3 can be both rewarding and challenging. I hope you found today's episode valuable and encouraging. If so, would you do me a favor and screen shot this episode and share it with those you know who'd benefit from this content as well? I appreciate it so much. It's how we can organically share this message with the world.
