012 Wellness Wednesday Episode - Words Matter

Welcome to today's Wellness Wednesday edition of the Mental Pause Podcast with Tracey.Today, it is all about WORDS MATTER.Inspired by a recent LinkedIn post of a dear friend and the reminder of Don Miguel Ruiz's "The Four Agreements."As human beings, we use our words in ways that can positively and negatively impact others. While we may be mindful or "impeccable" with our words, they are not always interpreted or received in how we present them. Over the last few decades, I can share from personal experiences how words have significantly changed my life in ways that I wasn't consciously aware of. Only now, at half a century old, am I able to reflect on the past trauma and bring to the forefront learnings that are now awarenesses in my body.Do you check in on those you communicate with to ensure they have interpreted your messages as intended? How do you reflect on the way someone's words made you feel? Do you have the courage to reach out and let someone know that the story you are focusing on with the words shared may not be as intended?Let's remind ourselves and one another when we may not have interpreted the words and their meaning appropriately. Until next time, TraceyFollow me on Insta @mental.pause

010 Motivation Monday - Coming Home to Your Body

Today's motivational Monday episode calls you to recognize your body! I am discussing coming home to our bodies with action, should you choose to accept. I had an aha moment today about taking my amazing body for granted every day. Not recognizing the magic each and every day that our bodies provide us. For those of us that own vehicles, we schedule maintenance, oil changes, tire rotations, and the list goes on; let me reiterate we SCHEDULE these times in advance to ensure the vehicle's longevity. Yet we struggle to unplug from computers, mobile devices, TVs and video games to SCHEDULE maintenance, rest, and rejuvenation for our bodies. The human vehicle that moves us through our day! I invite you to take 5 - 10 minutes each day to sit with your body in a quiet surrounding, listening to your breath, and when you exhale, let go of the negativity towards your body. Stand in the mirror, look yourself in the eyes and acknowledge the extraordinary things you love or respect about your body. Remember to fuel your body with the water and nourishment it needs to fuel your body. In health and wellness, schedule time to love your body! Thank you for joining me today! Until next time.I would love to hear from you; you can follow me on IG @mental.pause

    009 Calling Back your Power

I kick off todays episode sharing insights of letting go of your power. The people pleasers, like myself with the fear of saying “NO.” The person we disappoint and let down is ourselves! Be true to you, raise your awareness to how you treat your own self and shift the mindset. Knowing there are only truly two scarcity or abundance. Where do you find yourself throughout the day? It is incredible to have the awareness and fill your own cup with so much energy and abundance! YOU ARE ENOUGH! I would love to hear more from you and how you keep your power, your truth and show up for you! If you’re not already, please connect with me on IG @mental.pause and share how you inspire meeting yourself where you’re at. Look forward to connecting again soon

007 The Nature and Awareness of Things

Around the world people are stepping outdoors to explore and experience the simple beauty of nature; spending time in the mountains, hiking, at the beach, canoeing, kayaking or simply outdoors within their communities and neighbourhoods. It is beautiful to see people enjoying the beauty that surrounds them and for those of us like myself, imagining what it feels like to be sitting in a kayak on completely still waters watching the sunset...breathtaking and the calmness and serenity to the body, mind and spirit!  I talk about being outside with your feet on the ground and taking in a few soothing breaths to release the stress, anxiety, and boredom.  Being aware of your surroundings and embracing no matter what it is with love and kindness.  Do you have nature following you?  Are there specific birds, flowers, butterflies or other animals that cross your path while exploring the outdoors?  Have you taken the time to know if they are visiting you to share a message or a symbol of what you are attracting based on your energy;  I share my own journey with a Monarch Butterfly guiding me over the last few weeks.  I am not certain where it wants me to follow to; what I do know is the butterfly is a metaphor for transformation and hope.  Totally agree with transformation, I believe many of us (if not all) around the world are in a state of transformation and hope.  What about other awarenesses like your body?  Do you pay attention to the irritations, itching, burning or other sensations in your body?  Did you know when you ignore these irritations the magic of our body continues to look for our attention by moving the irritation to pain as an example an itchy eye one day could turn into a migraine 2 - 3 days later.  I share some insights regarding my own messages from my body and how I was able to listen and release through this awareness. I hope you enjoy the episode!  If you have any questions or would like to understand more about the messages from your body and how to be more aware in situations; connect in with me on Instagram https://instagram.com/mental.pause follow my instagram and share your Mental.Pause moments of "the nature and awareness of things" with the community! Please share your Mental.Pause moments outdoors and the nature or awareness of things that you have experienced.Thank you again for listening!  Make it a great day, BECAUSE YOU CAN!

006 How you wear who you are

Inspired by a quote from Timothy Egart "The beauty of you is how you wear who you are." There are many ways to interpret the message that Timothy puts forward, in my podcast episode I talk to the clothes we wear and how the can make or break your day.  With the pandemic, at least for me, my clothes may not provide me the confidence or feeling of "beauty" to be who I am as they no longer fit!Taking the time to repeat the quote and reflecting on what it means to you will allow you to interpret the beauty of what inspires you and how you wear it each day.I hope you enjoy the episode! 005 Pausing with Menopause

Ladies this one is for you!Menopause requires a mental pause, as women of today we can experience menopause dependent on many varying factors.  Being one of these women at that stage in my life, I am frustrated, agitated and openly sharing my own experiences while hoping to reach all of you listening.  It is time to be open about our experiences, share our frustrations, fears and unknowns as it relates to what our bodies are going through.  We learn from each other the more we share and express our experiences, we build a community of support, understanding and guidance that hopefully supports us on this journey.  YES including our partners, spouses, fathers or men that are in our lives; don't shy away from the discussion as it is equally important to have your support and understanding of what we are going through.I would love to hear from you and the opportunity to express your experiences or even to ask questions through the podcast with our listeners. if you have an interest to join me on a podcast or to raise a topic of discussion, please connect in with me through instagram at instagram.com/mental.pause. Thanks for listening, until next time!

004 How do you talk to yourself?

Welcome to the Mental.Pause podcast, today I am talking with you about how our body listens to what we say even when we aren't truly "speaking."  I was faced with a situation that triggered a feeling of being not enough; the feeling was related to my work and an action asked of colleagues to whom felt anxious and questioned the "why" to the activities with concern.  Even though I had taken the time to review in detail and open up for question the WHY, HOW and WHAT (that in the moment answered all their questions).  The emails I received and the questions and skepticism to the request led me down a path taking the essence of the messages personally, I felt a weight on my shoulders that was a familiar feeling to me of "I did something wrong",  "what could I have done better", "I am not good enough" and the words and questions continued...How many of you carry a similar weight every day?  IT IS TIME TO LET GO OF OUR SELF SPEAK!As I dug into the feelings, I was able to move away from the trigger and have an awareness that the situation wasn't about me at all!  It was about the individuals, they had their own triggers fears around the interpretation of the ask.  I believe we all tend to go to the worst case scenario as opposed to taking the time to understand the emotion that is being generated and why we feel the way we do.  A great opportunity to take a Mental.Pause moment and create awareness and understanding of what is happening.   At this moment, stepping out of the situation and working to understand why we are feeling agitated, anxious or just frustrated will guide our ability to let go of the unhealthy state we put ourselves into.  For myself, if I didn't pause and dig in, my day would have been a spiral of frustration in meetings, I wouldn't have been present in the moment for many of my interactions and my productivity would have been meh. Why, because I was too busy being agitated, angry or frustrated from the one situation and everything else would just pile on, until the breaking point; whenever that may be.  The only person that can change the perspective and shift the feelings you are holding onto is YOU!  Does this statement frustrate you or give you anxiety?  Let me know, I would be happy to coach, guide or share with you to some tools to shift the mindful process of being in control of what you can shift or change and that's YOU.Check out my Instagram and follow for more opportunities to share and grow as a Mental.Pause Community!  https://instagram.com/mental.pauseThanks again for listening!  Until next time.
