Married to a Con Man with Tahlia Hasson
In this episode of Sh*ts F*cked, we go on an absolute rollercoaster with Tahlia Hasson, a woman who has been through more in a few years than most do in a lifetime. It all started in 2019, when she was hit with the sudden death of her father while also preparing for her uncle’s passing. In the middle of all that grief, her six-year relationship crumbled, leaving her to pick up the pieces of a life that felt like it was falling apart. Then came 2020, a year that started with a chance meeting at a hair salon, a whirlwind romance, and a miscarriage that rocked her world. Just weeks later, she found out she was pregnant again, and before she knew it, she was eloping in Broome with a man she barely knew…but life had more twists in store! When her new husband disappeared to Melbourne for four months, Tahlia was left alone, struggling with housing instability, a newborn, and a growing addiction to Oxycodone and Tramadol. And just when she thought things couldn’t get worse, he came back, and so did the lies. Cheating. Financial betrayal. Oh, and the casual bombshell that he was already married to someone else the whole damn time.Instead of letting her past define her, Tahlia threw herself into personal development, network marketing, and coaching, completely shifting her mindset. Now, as a mindset coach and podcast host, she’s using her experiences to help others break free from their own sh*t and step into their power. You can find Tahlia here:InstagramPodcastThank you to our Production Team:Editing: Steve DeardenMarketing: Sarah Miller — Australia Wide Directory of Services: https://www.myservices.org.au/Western Australian AOD Services:https://wanada.org.au/greenbook/Aus AOD Phone Line:National Alcohol and Other Drug Hotline: 1800 250 015 Aus Phone Lines for Anxiety, Depression, Suicide Ideation:Lifeline: 13 11 14Suicide Call Back Services: 1300 659 467Beyond Blue: 1300 22 4636Mind Spot: 1800 61 44 34Head to Health: 1800 595 212Mens Line: 1300 78 99 78Aus Phone Lines for First Nations: 13YARN: 13 92 76Thirrili: 1800 805 801Aus Phone Lines for LGBTQIA+ Community:QLife: 1800 184 527Aus Phone Lines for Children/Youth:Kids Helpline: 1800 55 1800Headspace: 1800 650 890—Our Guest Speakers Mental Health & Addiction Services/Resources:https://matrixprogram.com.au/ https://luma.org.au/https://coachcarly.com/https://www.instagram.com/sarah_koeberl_coach/ https://carolinebrunne.com/https://www.instagram.com/joelriliffe/https://www.thebluebutterflyinstitute.org.au/https://www.claremacleodconsultancy.com/https://heretohearaustralia.com/https://a2apodcast.com/https://dannyshannon.com.au/https://encapsulator.io/https://emmamakepeace.com/https://addictioncoachingaustralia.com.auhttps://beyondallbounds.com.au/https://www.waac.com.au/https://yourlistener.wixsite.com/coachinghttps://yani-foord.mailchimpsites.com/https://hinterlandhealthretreat.com/home— Follow The Podcast Here:www.shtsfcked.comhttps://www.facebook.com/shtsfckedthepodcast/https://www.instagram.com/shtsfcked/https://www.youtube.com/@UChakY4S8T_A1iXIDSzQ8D3g https://www.linkedin.com/in/paris-le-maistre-880761b5/https://www.etsy.com/shop/ShtsFcked

Innovative Approaches in Psychotherapy with John Cuturilo
This week on Sh*ts F*cked, we’re joined by John Cuturilo, an empathetic Aussie life coach, therapist and host of the podcast Your Listener, with a knack for connecting with people on a real, human level. With a Bachelor of Psychological Sciences and years of experience in mental health support, John has made it his mission to help people navigate life’s challenges and find their independence. John takes us through his journey into psychotherapy and what motivated him to combine traditional therapeutic approaches with life coaching. His practice blends evidence-based methods with a personalised, down-to-earth approach, ditching the one-size-fits-all mindset that doesn’t work for most of us. We dig into person-centred and existential therapies and how these frameworks shape his unique way of working with clients. We also tackle some big topics like the misconceptions about therapy, the limitations of traditional methods, and the ways John keeps his practice adaptable and tailored to each individual. He shares his thoughts on the vital role of communication skills, not just in therapy, but in life, and how he supports clients in finding their voice and achieving their goals. You can find John here:https://yourlistener.wixsite.com/coachinghttps://open.spotify.com/show/3tHu90SNIPWohnur2lhyoihttps://www.instagram.com/your.listener.coaching/https://www.youtube.com/@your.listener.coaching— Australia Wide Directory of Services: https://www.myservices.org.au/Western Australian AOD Services:https://wanada.org.au/greenbook/Aus AOD Phone Line:National Alcohol and Other Drug Hotline: 1800 250 015 Aus Phone Lines for Anxiety, Depression, Suicide Ideation:Lifeline: 13 11 14Suicide Call Back Services: 1300 659 467Beyond Blue: 1300 22 4636Mind Spot: 1800 61 44 34Head to Health: 1800 595 212Mens Line: 1300 78 99 78Aus Phone Lines for First Nations: 13YARN: 13 92 76Thirrili: 1800 805 801Aus Phone Lines for LGBTQIA+ Community:QLife: 1800 184 527Aus Phone Lines for Children/Youth:Kids Helpline: 1800 55 1800Headspace: 1800 650 890—Our Guest Speakers Mental Health & Addiction Services/Resources:https://matrixprogram.com.au/ https://luma.org.au/https://coachcarly.com/https://www.instagram.com/sarah_koeberl_coach/ https://carolinebrunne.com/https://www.instagram.com/joelriliffe/https://www.thebluebutterflyinstitute.org.au/https://www.claremacleodconsultancy.com/https://heretohearaustralia.com/https://a2apodcast.com/https://dannyshannon.com.au/https://encapsulator.io/https://emmamakepeace.com/https://addictioncoachingaustralia.com.auhttps://beyondallbounds.com.au/https://www.waac.com.au/https://yourlistener.wixsite.com/coaching— Follow The Podcast Here:www.shtsfcked.comhttps://www.facebook.com/shtsfckedthepodcast/https://www.instagram.com/shtsfcked/https://www.youtube.com/@UChakY4S8T_A1iXIDSzQ8D3g https://www.linkedin.com/in/paris-le-maistre-880761b5/https://www.etsy.com/shop/ShtsFcked

A Fight for Sobriety and Motherhood with Sonya Johnson
This week on Shts Fcked, Paris sits down with Sonya Johnson, a fierce advocate, inspiring mum, and all-around powerhouse from the USA. Sonya’s story is one of hope, but it also takes a raw and unfiltered look at the harsh realities of addiction and the systems designed to “help” families in crisis.Sonya shares the heartbreaking experience of losing custody of her children while battling addiction, a pain that words can barely capture. In the US, the system often removes children from parents struggling with addiction, placing them in foster care. This adds layers of trauma for families already at their lowest. Australia takes a different approach, focusing on keeping children with their parents as long as basic needs are met. Sonya’s journey reveals just how gruelling the fight for reunification can be in America. The conversation explores the emotional and logistical challenges she faced to regain custody of her children. Navigating a cold and complex system, finding the strength to show up for court dates, and rebuilding her life to prove she was worthy of her kids. Sonya speaks openly about the heartbreak of the process and the pure joy of finally being reunited with her family. The episode also highlights Sonya’s incredible work with NAMI, the National Alliance on Mental Illness, her recognition as Child Welfare Professional of the Year, and her mission to support other parents fighting to reunite with their children. This conversation is an emotional deep dive into the heartbreak, hope, and healing that comes with addiction and family. It is essential listening for anyone who knows the pain of losing loved ones to addiction or wants to understand the resilience it takes to heal and rebuild. You can find Sonya here:https://www.facebook.com/proudbeautifulmom/https://www.instagram.com/Sonyajohnson0719https://www.tiktok.com/@Sonyandstevenhttps://www.youtube.com/@sonyajohnson0719Thank You to Our Production Team:Editing: Steve Dearden Marketing: Sarah Miller — Australia Wide Directory of Services: https://www.myservices.org.au/Western Australian AOD Services:https://wanada.org.au/greenbook/Aus AOD Phone Line:National Alcohol and Other Drug Hotline: 1800 250 015 Aus Phone Lines for Anxiety, Depression, Suicide Ideation:Lifeline: 13 11 14Suicide Call Back Services: 1300 659 467Beyond Blue: 1300 22 4636Mind Spot: 1800 61 44 34Head to Health: 1800 595 212Mens Line: 1300 78 99 78Aus Phone Lines for First Nations: 13YARN: 13 92 76Thirrili: 1800 805 801Aus Phone Lines for LGBTQIA+ Community:QLife: 1800 184 527Aus Phone Lines for Children/Youth:Kids Helpline: 1800 55 1800Headspace: 1800 650 890—Our Guest Speakers Mental Health & Addiction Services/Resources:https://matrixprogram.com.au/ https://luma.org.au/https://coachcarly.com/https://www.instagram.com/sarah_koeberl_coach/ https://carolinebrunne.com/https://www.instagram.com/joelriliffe/https://www.thebluebutterflyinstitute.org.au/https://www.claremacleodconsultancy.com/https://heretohearaustralia.com/https://a2apodcast.com/https://dannyshannon.com.au/https://encapsulator.io/https://emmamakepeace.com/https://addictioncoachingaustralia.com.auhttps://beyondallbounds.com.au/https://www.waac.com.au/— Follow The Podcast Here:www.shtsfcked.comhttps://www.facebook.com/shtsfckedthepodcast/https://www.instagram.com/shtsfcked/https://www.youtube.com/@UChakY4S8T_A1iXIDSzQ8D3g https://www.linkedin.com/in/paris-le-maistre-880761b5/https://www.etsy.com/shop/ShtsFcked

Breaking the Silence on HIV and Addiction with Rhys Ross
In this upcoming episode, I sit down with Rhys Ross, Senior HIV Peer Educator for WAAC (pronounced whack), to have a raw and eye-opening conversation about his journey with HIV and meth addiction. Rhys doesn’t hold back as he talks about what it’s really like to live with HIV, the intense stigma he’s faced (not just from society but also from within himself) and the overwhelming shame that came with his diagnosis. We dig into the misconceptions and outdated beliefs that are still so common, even in the healthcare system, and why education around HIV is something we desperately need more of.Rhys also opens up about his struggles with meth addiction, which added another layer of shame and isolation to an already heavy load. He shares the turning points in his journey, and how he came to find the strength to rebuild his life. His story is one of self-acceptance, and now, as a passionate advocate and educator, he’s helping others navigate their own challenges while breaking down stigma one conversation at a time. This chat is as inspiring as it is challenging. All Things Recovery with Danny Shannon
In this episode of Sh*ts F*cked, Paris Le Maistre sits down with Danny Shannon, founder of Encapsulator, to have a real conversation about addiction recovery and whether abstinence is the only way forward. The Impact of My Addiction on My Sister, Capri
This episode is a tough one, but it's also one of the most important chats we've ever had. My sister Capri and I (Paris) sat down to talk about the real impact my meth and alcohol addiction had on her life. No fancy jargon, just an honest, raw conversation between siblings. We get into the nitty-gritty of how addiction doesn’t just affect the person going through it, but also the loved ones around them. Capri opens up about her struggles, the heartbreak, and the tough love she had to show to help me find my way to recovery. This isn't an easy story to share, but we believe it's a crucial part of the journey. — Australia Wide Directory of Services: https://www.myservices.org.au/ Western Australian AOD Services: https://wanada.org.au/greenbook/ Aus AOD Phone Line: National Alcohol and Other Drug Hotline: 1800 250 015 Aus Phone Lines for Anxiety, Depression, Suicide Ideation: Lifeline: 13 11 14 Suicide Call Back Services: 1300 659 467 Beyond Blue: 1300 22 4636 Mind Spot: 1800 61 44 34 Head to Health: 1800 595 212 Mens Line: 1300 78 99 78 Aus Phone Lines for First Nations: 13YARN: 13 92 76 Thirrili: 1800 805 801 Aus Phone Lines for LGBTQIA+ Community: QLife: 1800 184 527 Aus Phone Lines for Children/Youth: Kids Helpline: 1800 55 1800 Headspace: 1800 650 890 — Our Guest Speakers Mental Health & Addiction Services/Resources: https://matrixprogram.com.au/ https://luma.org.au/ https://coachcarly.com/ https://www.instagram.com/sarah_koeberl_coach/ https://carolinebrunne.com/ https://www.instagram.com/joelriliffe/ https://www.thebluebutterflyinstitute.org.au/ — Follow The Podcast Here: https://www.facebook.com/shtsfckedthepodcast/ https://www.instagram.com/shtsfcked/ https://www.youtube.com/@UChakY4S8T_A1iXIDSzQ8D3g https://www.linkedin.com/in/paris-le-maistre-880761b5/ https://www.etsy.com/shop/ShtsFcked — #addictionrecovery #recoveryjourney #australianpodcast #soberlife #drugaddiction #mentalhealth #traumahealing #traumarecovery

Healing from Sexual Trauma with Tina Meyer
I (Paris) and Tina get deep into the gaps that are currently present when it comes to healing from sexual trauma, and how our own government and police forces have let victims down. — About The Blue Butterfly Institute: The Blue Butterfly Institute, based in New South Wales and founded by Tina Meyer in 2021, is a not-for-profit organisation operating primarily online with a mission to provide FREE support, advocacy, and education for victims and survivors of sexual trauma, whom they refer to as "chrysalites." Tina, herself a survivor of sexual trauma, recognised the need for a central agency to address the gaps in support and education in the aftermath of trauma. The institute offers FREE services tailored to children, youth, and adult survivors, as well as their families and caregivers. Tina's personal journey of healing, which began in 2017 during a leave from teaching, highlighted the intersection between her childhood trauma and her experiences as an educator dealing with allegations of sexual misconduct. This realisation led to the inception of the institute, fueled by a sense of urgency after encountering cases of delayed support for victims, including children. Despite setbacks such as the COVID-19 pandemic, Tina persisted in bringing her vision to life. In January 2021, the groundwork for the institute began, culminating in its official establishment in April 2021. A team of volunteers joined Tina in shaping the institute's mission and objectives, emphasising advocacy, support, and community education on the impact of trauma. The institute's formation coincided with the onset of a prolonged lockdown in Greater Sydney, symbolising the collective trauma the organisation seeks to address. Through its online platform and outreach efforts, The Blue Butterfly Institute strives to create a safe space for personal and community empowerment, raising awareness about the effects of sexual trauma while providing a pathway to healing and resilience. — Find Tina Meyer Here: https://www.thebluebutterflyinstitute.org.au https://www.facebook.com/thebluebutterflyinstitute https://www.instagram.com/thebluebutterflyinstitute https://www.linkedin.com/company/the-blue-butterfly-institute/ — Australia Wide Directory of Services: https://www.myservices.org.au/ Western Australian AOD Services: https://wanada.org.au/greenbook/ Aus AOD Phone Line: National Alcohol and Other Drug Hotline: 1800 250 015 Aus Phone Lines for Anxiety, Depression, Suicide Ideation: Lifeline: 13 11 14 Suicide Call Back Services: 1300 659 467 Beyond Blue: 1300 22 4636 Mind Spot: 1800 61 44 34 Head to Health: 1800 595 212 Mens Line: 1300 78 99 78 Aus Phone Lines for First Nations: 13YARN: 13 92 76 Thirrili: 1800 805 801 Aus Phone Lines for LGBTQIA+ Community: QLife: 1800 184 527 Aus Phone Lines for Children/Youth: Kids Helpline: 1800 55 1800 Headspace: 1800 650 890 — Our Guest Speakers Mental Health & Addiction Services/Resources: https://matrixprogram.com.au/ https://luma.org.au/ https://coachcarly.com/ https://www.instagram.com/sarah_koeberl_coach/ https://carolinebrunne.com/ https://www.instagram.com/joelriliffe/ https://www.thebluebutterflyinstitute.org.au/ — Follow The Podcast Here: https://www.facebook.com/shtsfckedthepodcast/ https://www.instagram.com/shtsfcked/ https://www.youtube.com/@UChakY4S8T_A1iXIDSzQ8D3g https://www.linkedin.com/in/paris-le-maistre-880761b5/ https://www.etsy.com/shop/ShtsFcked — #addictionrecovery #recoveryjourney #australianpodcast #soberlife #drugaddiction #mentalhealth #traumahealing #traumarecovery

The Matrix Program with Kerryn and Heather
In this podcast episode, Paris (host of Sh*ts F*cked) and two guest speakers, Kerryn the founder of Ashcliffe Psychology and Heather, a facilitator of The Matrix Program®, discuss how the Matrix Program has the ability to drastically change the lives of addicts and their loved ones. — Kerryn Ashford-Hatherly Kerryn who founded Ashcliffe Psychology and the Matrix Program®, possesses over 30 years of extensive experience in the mental health field, specialising in addiction since the late 1990s. Her expertise has expanded to include working with trauma, PTSD, and many diverse roles. Kerryn became interested in the Matrix Model intensive outpatient addiction treatment several years ago when she recognised a gap in services in Western Australia for an alternative to residential addiction treatment. It had become apparent clients were wanting to continue working and living with their family as well as enter addiction treatment. However, they required more support than that which individual psychological treatment could offer. After researching treatment options, in particular for stimulant use, Kerryn came across the Matrix Model which had over 30 years of encouraging research documenting the treatment outcomes with an intensive long term intervention program. In 2016, Kerryn went to the USA to the Matrix Institute, and became trained to Supervisor level in the Matrix Model. In 2017, Kerryn joined with her colleague and co-director Michael Tunnecliffe to start Ashcliffe Psychology and provide the Matrix Program®, which is an adapted version of the Matrix Model. — Heather Marrapodi Heather, a Comprehensive Registered Nurse with over 25 years of experience, specialises in Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD). Her diverse expertise includes inpatient detox, home-based withdrawal, outpatient case management, youth services, triage, group work, education, pharmacotherapy, and community nursing. Heather employs evidence-based therapy to assess, manage, and treat individuals with addiction issues, including those with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. At Ashcliffe Psychology, Heather offers individual case management and serves as a facilitator in the Matrix Program®, an intensive outpatient treatment for addiction. — Find The Matrix Program® Here: L: 935 Wellington Street, West Perth, W.A., 6005 W: https://matrixprogram.com.au/ E: [email protected] P: 0421 177 901 — Australia Wide Directory of Services: https://www.myservices.org.au/ Western Australian AOD Services: https://wanada.org.au/greenbook/ Aus AOD Phone Line: National Alcohol and Other Drug Hotline: 1800 250 015 Aus Phone Lines for Anxiety, Depression, Suicide Ideation: Lifeline: 13 11 14 Suicide Call Back Services: 1300 659 467 Beyond Blue: 1300 22 4636 Mind Spot: 1800 61 44 34 Head to Health: 1800 595 212 Mens Line: 1300 78 99 78 Aus Phone Lines for First Nations: 13YARN: 13 92 76 Thirrili: 1800 805 801 Aus Phone Lines for LGBTQIA+ Community: QLife: 1800 184 527 Aus Phone Lines for Children/Youth: Kids Helpline: 1800 55 1800 Headspace: 1800 650 890 — Our Guest Speakers Mental Health & Addiction Services/Resources: https://matrixprogram.com.au/ https://luma.org.au/ https://coachcarly.com/ https://www.instagram.com/sarah_koeberl_coach/ https://carolinebrunne.com/ https://www.instagram.com/joelriliffe/ https://www.thebluebutterflyinstitute.org.au/ — Follow The Podcast Here: https://www.facebook.com/shtsfckedthepodcast/ https://www.instagram.com/shtsfcked/ https://www.youtube.com/@UChakY4S8T_A1iXIDSzQ8D3g https://www.linkedin.com/in/paris-le-maistre-880761b5/ https://www.etsy.com/shop/ShtsFcked — #addictionrecovery #recoveryjourney #australianpodcast #soberlife #drugaddiction #mentalhealth #traumahealing #traumarecovery
