Episode 19 - Life Chats with John Stack - When life forces you to grow

In Episode 19 of The DMC podcast I am joined by a dear friend John Stack. These episodes constantly remind me of the power of deep conversations and this one is no different.John and I talk about how much we’ve both changed over the years, the realities of growing up in small town Ireland where emotional expression wasn’t always encouraged, and how life has a way of pushing you into the growth you didn’t even know you needed.John opens up about a really difficult period in his life after suffering multiple concussions, the anxiety that followed, and what it was like to feel like everything just stopped overnight. We speak honestly about mental health, the importance of speaking up, and how the right people around you can quite literally change everything. We also dive into the power of routine, consistency, and learning what actually serves you (and what doesn’t). There’s a lot in here about self-awareness, doing the work, and how growth isn’t always linear. John shares his journey from Ireland to the US and now Australia, the lessons he’s learned along the way, and how those experiences have led him to create his own business, Off Peak, something built from lived experience in his career and a genuine desire to give back. This episode is about resilience, perspective, and keeping going even when things feel heavy. It’s about friendship, vulnerability, and the conversations that remind you you’re not alone. If you’re going through something, feeling stuck, or just needing a reminder that things can shift this one’s for you. Please show John some love on his new business venture https://www.instagram.com/offpeak.au/And as always if you would like to connect with me further you can find me at https://www.instagram.com/jw.healing/Thanks for listening <3

Episode 18 - My Experience with Miscarriage

In this episode, I share a raw honest conversation about my experience with miscarriage. It has been reported that 1 in 4 women, will experience miscarriage and sadly this is not something that I was aware of. More and more I am realizing that these figures are inaccurate and that in fact, miscarriage happens more than we care to admit. So why are we not having more conversations around this topic?I will always be an advocate that you should do what feels right for you, but please know that you should not feel shamed, or silence when it comes to experiencing this kind of loss.It doesn't matter how far along you were when you experienced loss it is hugely significant and it should not be suppressed.Today I want to highlight the importance of not facing this alone. It is too big too carry by yourself so lean on those around you. This is my story and it is important to highlight that we each have different experiences of loss, but in listening to my journey I hope that you feel a little less alone. If this episode brought up anything difficult for you, please know you are not alone. Miscarriage and pregnancy loss can be deeply painful experiences, and support is available. If you feel that listening to this conversation has stirred something in you, reaching out to someone you trust or to a support service can help. Speaking with people who understand pregnancy loss can make a difference during a time that can feel incredibly isolating.Support services:AustraliaPink Elephants Support Network – Support for early pregnancy loss, including peer support and resources.SANDS Australia – Support for miscarriage, stillbirth and newborn loss.Red Nose Grief and Loss – 24/7 bereavement support line and counselling.IrelandIrish Hospice Foundation – Information and support for grief and pregnancy loss.Feileacain – Support and remembrance services for families who experience pregnancy and baby loss.Miscarriage Association of Ireland – Information and support for those affected by miscarriage. If you are struggling, please consider reaching out. Episode 14 - Sitting with your feelings Meditation

Happy New Year!As a new year begins, I invite you to meditate with me for a few minutes- hold off a moment before you race and rush with setting goals and adding more. See this as a period of transition, a chance to catch your breath and take stock of your feelings. Sitting with our feelings can be one of the most challenging things we can do, as often it gives a space for things to arise that we have been avoiding. It is learning to witness these feelings and sensations, allowing discomfort and not trying to force or fix.I hope you enjoy and remember to go gentle. Now is not the time to be rushing and racing ahead.Thank you for listening. As Always you if you wish to connect with me further you can find me on Instagram at  https://www.instagram.com/jw.healing/

Episode 13 - Burnout to Breakthrough: Claire Feely's Journey

Today’s Deep Meaningful Conversation is with the wonderful Claire Fealy (@clairefealymindsetcoach)Claire is a Mindset Coach based in Ireland, and someone who truly understands what it feels like to lose yourself in the twists and turns of life. She’s moved through her own seasons of overwhelm, perfectionism, anxiety and burnout and instead of letting those experiences define her, she’s allowed them to guide her and deepen the work she does with others. From a young age, her nervous system lived in fight-or-flight, and she learned to attach her worth to achieving and being “perfect.” As an adult, she’s been gently unravelling all of this, and that inner work has shaped her into the grounded, compassionate coach she is today. In our conversation, Claire shares her transformative journey and speaks openly about perfectionism, anxiety, burnout, and the constant pressure to always do more. Her honesty is such a reminder that healing isn’t about fixing ourselves, it’s about coming home to who we actually are.We explore self-worth, self-love, redefining success, and the power of deep meaningful conversations to help us feel less alone. Claire has such a gift for helping high achievers release stress and make more room for joy, ease and genuine happiness in their lives. This episode is full of gentle insights, real talk, and the kind of conversation that stays with you long after you’ve finished listening. If you want to connect with Claire and explore working with her you can find her here - https://www.instagram.com/clairefealymindsetcoach/

Episode 12 - Lets Meditate through poetry

Welcome to another episode :)This is a different kind of episode but one that I am oh so excited for!In this episode I invite you to take a few moments to yourself, as I share one of my poems with you in a meditative way. it is something new that I am trying so please do let me know if you like it. I haven't really given this poem a name and often its not something I do, as I don't sit down to create these things they more so just come to me if that makes sense.Writing is something that anchors me through challenging times and I find using words in this way just helps me to process. This poem is essentially about the rollercoaster that is life and the constant transitions between the ups and downs, along with the undercurrent of uncertainty that flows through it.I won't say too much more but I do hope that you enjoyed this and I really hope to share my poetry more in this way going forward. So relax for a few moments and take it in, you are so deserving of your own time xAs always if you wish to connect with me further you can find me on Instagram at https://www.instagram.com/jw.healing/<3

Episode 8 - Resisting Pain Creates More Suffering

In this solo episode, I begin to peel back the layers and share a little more of my story. I talk about the journey of navigating anxiety, falling into the happiness trap, and learning slowly and imperfectly that resisting pain only creates more suffering. Feeling it all is still something I struggle with but I know it’s where real healing begins.  As always you can connect with me further on Instagram @jw.healing Here at The DMC podcast all conversations are welcome x

Episode 7: Reflections as I wait for my washing - Grief, Father's Day & Letting Yourself Feel!

Episode 7 is a solo episode as I sit in my car outside the launderette waiting for my washing. It is an impromptu episode where I hit record and talk about how grief surfaced for me after Father's Day. I speak about how grief can often trick us into thinking that we are okay & how it greets us at the most unexpected times. I speak about grief in general and how its not just linked to loosing a loved one - sadly it is something that we all experience, yet we have no idea what to do with it.I share the expectations I have around how it should look nearly 5 years later, but at the end of the day I am just a girl who misses her Dad!In this episode I remind both you & I, that we don't need a reason for feeling. When any kind of emotion surfaces we need to just allow it without shame. If this episode resonates with you in any way please do reach out. As always you can connect with me further on Instagram @jw.healing Here at The DMC podcast all conversations are welcome x

Episode 6: Grief, Growth & Becoming the Person You Needed

Guest: Jack Costello – Life Coach, Men's Mental Health Advocate & Founder of Unpack with JackAs June is Men’s Mental Health Month, I wanted to share this powerful conversation with Jack Costello. In this DMC, Jack opens up about the mask he wore from a very young age in order to stay strong, the loneliness of unspoken grief, and the journey of learning how to feel again. From identity loss in Thailand to the healing power of breathwork, therapy, and self-compassion, this episode is a raw, tender look at what it means to grow through pain.We explore:– What it was like navigating grief as a child while the world kept moving around him – The coping mechanisms we cling to – The moment therapy began to shift things – Identity loss and the deeper emotional unraveling that can surface years later – How sport and friendship offered a lifeline in his teens, and how breathwork and self-inquiry became anchors later in life – The emotional weight that can come from people not knowing how to support you – The beautiful truth that “grief is the price we pay for love—how blessed I have been to know such love” – The role of self-forgiveness, expressing your feelings, and the bravery it takes to be true to yourselfJack speaks passionately about redefining masculinity, moving away from outdated ideas that vulnerability equals weakness, and instead creating safe spaces where men can be fully human. He’s on a mission to help men feel, heal, and reconnect with themselves and each other.“I lost a lot of friends growing up who suffered in silence. It wasn’t safe for them to express themselves.”This episode is for anyone who's ever felt the pressure to keep it together, who's carried their pain in silence, or who's learning slowly that they don’t have to do it alone.Find us here: Jessie: https://www.instagram.com/jw.healing/ Jack: https://www.instagram.com/unpackwithjack_/

Episode 3 - Honouring the Birthdays of those we have lost

Today, I’m recording this episode on the beach at sunrise, on what would have been my dad’s 56th birthday. Birthdays can be a bittersweet reminder of those we’ve lost, but I’ve come to see them as a chance to celebrate and honour our loved ones. Grief doesn't have a rulebook and birthdays can bring up so many emotions. In this chat I reflect on why these days still matter and how small rituals can keep their memory alive.Whether you’ve lost someone or are navigating grief in your own way, I hope this episode reminds you that love doesn’t end—it just changes.

Episode 2 – Three Years On: Reflection, Growth & Trusting the Process

In this episode, I take a moment to reflect on the past three years since making my way back to Australia. After losing my dad in 2020, it was another year and a half before I could reunite with my partner. I finally landed in Australia on March 3rd, 2022. Now, exactly three years later, I’m sitting down to look back on that journey—the uncertainty, the challenges, and the immense growth that came with it.There were moments when it felt like things would never get better. During that time, Dermot Kennedy’s song "Better Days Are Coming" became a theme tune to my life, a reminder to hold on. And now, three years later, I can see just how much has changed. This episode is about learning to control what you can, surrendering to what you can’t, and trusting that even in the toughest times, better days will come.
