How To Sell Products Without The Ick Factor

Have you ever wondered how to sell products to your clients when you’re doing their hair? If you answered yes, then keep reading.Selling products isn’t a bad word or an icky thing. Especially when you are educating your clients on what they need and WHY they need them. Ultimately it is your client’s decision whether they buy or not and how much they buy. Before we continue, please like and save this post for later. It is NOT your responsibility to judge whether they can afford little or much. It is your responsibility to educate and to let them know what is available and leave the rest to them. My big tip:If you use products behind the chair, then please make sure that you are retailing the same products!!! When you are applying products then talk about them. Why you’re using it and how to use it. Let them see and hold each product. When you finish your appointment, take your client to the retail area and show them or pull all the products you used or the products the client mentioned they wanted and ask them if they want to take any of them home. That’s it! Simple and easy as that! Please hit the follow button at the top to subscribe so you don't miss new episodes every week.Click here to connect with me https://www.instagram.com/larastillwell

Episode 21: How do you create self motivation when you don't feel like it.

Today I'm sharing about self motivation. This topic came up during a conversation I was having over the weekend. It got me thinking about motivation and how you and I have to first believe it's (whatever you're aiming for) can be able to be achieved and that you are capable of doing it. You have to realize what types of things you are telling yourself  in your subconscious and bring to light the things that don't work for you any longer. Self motivation is something that can be easy some days and harder other days. It can come from a deep place within. Sometimes it comes from hardship and when life is being a lemon and other days when you're making those lemons into lemonade. I hope this episode meets you where you are and always remember to refocus and realign with your why and that the small things that you're doing to move the needle matters. Please hit the follow button at the top to subscribe so you don't miss new episodes every week.Click here to connect with me https://www.instagram.com/larastillwell

Episode 20- First Impressions can either make or break a business.. here's why.

In today's episode we talk about how the first impression when someone walks through the door can potentially make or help to break your business if you own or manage it. This even applies to you if you are a customer yourself or work for a business.  Having someone willing and able to make a positive and impactful connection with clients can have a lasting positive impression. It can also be a negative impression if the client/ customer feels like they're not seen or valued and you might potentially  be losing money because of it. We talk all about it in this episode and some ways of how you can have good and positive interactions with your clients and a couple of things that you will want to avoid. Please hit the follow button at the top to subscribe so you don't miss new episodes every week.Click here to connect with me https://www.instagram.com/larastillwell

Episode 11: To burn the ships or not to burn the ships: it's your choice

We talk about "burning the ships" and what that means, why you'd want to do it and I also share a real and honest time when I had to burn my own ships. When you start something new or get out of an environment that isn't good for you, or (insert your own thing here) it can feel like you want to jump back on the same boat you were on because it's "comfortable" or its just your "normal." You know exactly how to navigate it and to be honest with you, it can be "easier" but not really to stay where you are than to change.  When you burn the ships you are taking a stand saying I can't go back to what, where and who I was. It forces you to choose if you will burn the ships and keep going or not. This episode we dive into this topic. I hope this meets you right where you are and it blesses you. Please take a screenshot of this episode and tag me on Instagram so I can shout you out! Thank you for taking the time to listen! Episode 5: Commission Vs Booth Renting - Pros & Cons Edition

In today's episode we will discuss the pros and cons to both commission and booth renting as a stylist. Both can be great options for you! The main thing I want to do through this episode is to give you some knowledge about both so that you can make whatever the best decision is for you at the moment. I've done both, so I do believe that you can have both. It just depends on where you are and what you're wanting to build. Don't feel like you have to be pressured into a decision because of what other people say you should do. It really depends on what really and truly matters to you. What you value and what you want for your future. Questions to ask yourself... 1. What do you really want? (If you don't know what you want long term, that's okay and perfectly normal! You can figure it out along the way.) 2. What kind of money do you want to earn? 3. What kind of salon culture do you want? And what kind of stylist do you want to be? Lastly, everything that you do in your career is a stepping stone to where you are going. Sometimes we are in different jobs and experience different people so that we can learn what we want or don't want in the future. All lessons can be valuable as long as we can learn from them. I hope you enjoy this episode and if you have any questions, please DM me on my Instagram linked below. Please hit the follow button at the top to subscribe so you don't miss new episodes every week.Click here to connect with me https://www.instagram.com/larastillwell
