5 Biggest Lessons Learned Rowing The Pacific Ocean
In todays episode I break down 5 lessons that I learned from rowing across the Pacific Ocean - more specifically the mid PacificA 2700 mile voyage between Monterey, CA and Honolulu, HA I completed this with other friends back in 2021 as a way to fundraise for a few different charities. The unsupported expedition took us 43 days where we rowed in pairs in alternating 1 hour intervals. The are ample threats & dangers of rowing at sea and we certainly experienced our fair share of them. I talk about some in this episode but more importantly I share the 5 biggest lessons that I learned and took from the voyage I look back very fondly at my time at sea despite the scars it left me with. I am certainly not done with the ocean - I just need to spend some time focusing on building my business and acquiring my osteopathy degree. The rest of the endurance team are currently preparing for another expedition to row the entire navigable length of the Amazon in 2024 in another effort to fundraiser for Great Ormand Street Hospital in London. You can read more about their journey and donate to their mission by following the below links: https://amazonrow.com/?fbclid=PAAaY-UmBChmNCRAwmg8tODBLP3IFiCP5vF2lKc0tBXTVjKelT9eR_6eNRo1g_aem_AV3U950CeuGYCCRiGHvIEgQuIBlEep3bSd6WSXfhihbKoXTLCtaGNA9GuwNmF4Lcuzo https://instagram.com/endurancelimits?igshid=YTQwZjQ0NmI0OA== https://justgiving.com/fundraising/amazonrow If you’d like to hear more from me, make sure to hit that subscribe button and click the bell icon to be notified when new episodes are released. Ep.06 - Why Optimal is setting you up to fail/Nature vs Nurture Debate
This was a fun one to record despite being bacback on my own! Hoping to bring you another guest episode very soon but I hope you enjoyed ep.05 with Tom/ In this one I cover 3 topics - hence it being quite a long one. I talk about: - The landscape of optimal & how it probably gets in the way of enjoyability and consistency - Progressions & Regressions from a movement perspective & just how big movement variability really is - The Nature vs Nurture debate and how many influences we aren't even aware of Quite big juicy topics that each could've warranted their own episode but I'm generous so I'm giving you three in one podcast - no doubt I'll be revisiting these topics individually at some point too. As I mentioned I'd love to hear from you. Let me know your thoughts, opinions. If you think I'm right, if you think I'm wrong, if you think I'm a massive bellend (just tell me nicely). You can send me a message or an email (text or voice notes or we can communicate through gifs & memes too) Links to contact me down below. Ep.05 - Tom Sparks - The Art of Communication & Preventing Injury
In this episode I sit down with a good friend & mentor of mine, Tom Sparks. In this episode we discuss the importance of communication for client/patient success, the rise of 'bulletproofing' in the health & fitness industry & if we can truly prevent injuries. Ep.02 - If I Could Only Do FIVE Exercises For The Rest Of My Life
In this episode I challenge myself to create a list of 5 exercises I could only do for the rest of my life to get the best results. An interesting thought experiment that forces you to think of what you want to work and want the impact of training in such a way. Had a lot of fun with this. Would love to know what you think of this list and if you change anything about it & why. Would also be interested in doing other versions of these but for different goal types - bodybuilding, running, etc. I mentioned the colleague who was raising money for charity by attempting to break the world record for most amount of burpees completed in 24 hours - heres his instagram page: https://www.instagram.com/stpweightlossfitness/ If you're not following me already, here's the link to my instagram page where I release daily health & fitness content: https://www.instagram.com/joshtillscoaching/

Ep.01 - The State of the Health & Fitness Industry & Intro to Josh Tills Coaching
Hello & welcome to The Josh Tills Coaching Podcast! In this first episode I introduce the podcast - I aim for these to be an opportunity to provide some more value than the short form content I’ve been creating. Longer form ‘podcast’ style episodes will give me the chance to dive deeper into certain topics While I am for episodes to typically run for 20ish minutes, this episode is slightly longer as I introduce myself and how I got into the fitness industry, what my motivations are and some hobbies outside of health & fitness I also look at the current shape of the health & fitness industry & some thoughts & feeling that are cultivated from it Lastly I break down why I’m so willing to provide free information and share all the knowledge that I’ve learned over the years If you have any feedback or have any questions, please send me a message or leave a comment on this video and I’ll be sure to answer any questions in future episodes If you want to see more of me, you can go and check out my Instagram: https://instagram.com/joshtillscoachi...
