Reclaiming Your Closet: The Feeling Audit

Monday, we learned THE question: "How does this make me feel?" Today, we do the actual audit. Piece by piece. Item by item. We ask the question. We name the feeling. We release based on FEELING alone. Not logic. Not guilt. Not "should." Just feeling. This is Action Wednesday. This is the work. IN THIS EPISODE The Recap:The question isn't "Should I keep this?" but "How does this make me feel?"Mel Robbins: "If a piece makes you feel small, ashamed, or disconnected, it does not belong in your future."Today: Releasing based on FEELING, not logic, guilt, or should.EXERCISE 1: THE FEELING AUDIT (5 STEPS)Step 1: Pick the section you inventoried last week (tops, pants, dresses, shoes) Step 2: Pull out each item one at a time. Put it on. Look in the mirror. Step 3: Ask OUT LOUD: "How does this make me feel?" Step 4: Name the SPECIFIC feeling:Confident or insecure?Grounded or disconnected?Beautiful or ashamed?Like yourself or like you're pretending?Step 5: Make the decision based on feeling:Feel good/confident/yourself → KEEP ITFeel small/ashamed/disconnected → RELEASE ITThat's it. Not "how much I spent." Not "will it fit someday." How does it make me FEEL? EXERCISE 2: WRITING THE FEELING RESPONSES Create two columns in your journal: Column 1 - KEEP (What Makes Me Feel Good):Item + Feeling (blue sweater = confident)Column 2 - RELEASE (What Makes Me Feel Bad):Item + Feeling + Why you kept it (white dress = uncomfortable = spent money on it)This shows you the PATTERN. What you've been tolerating. What you've been carrying. EXERCISE 3: THE SHOULD VS. FEEL CHECK For items you're struggling with: Q1: Am I keeping this because I SHOULD or because it FEELS GOOD? Q2: Who says I should? Is it MY rule or somebody else's? Q3: What would happen if I let this go? Answer: Nothing. You'd just have one less piece that makes you feel bad. That's a WIN.THE RESISTANCE TESTS Mirror Test: Put it on. Do I feel like myself or like I'm performing? (Performing = Release)One-Year Test: Have I worn this in the past year? (No = Release)Today Test: Would I buy this exact item today, knowing what I know about myself NOW? (No = Release)THE 5 COMMON SHOULD TRAPSTrap 1: "But it's in perfect condition!" → Doesn't mean it serves YOU. Donate it. Trap 2: "But I spent money on it!" → That money is GONE already. Can't get it back by keeping something that makes you feel bad.Trap 3: "But it's a classic/timeless!" → For WHO? If it doesn't feel good on YOU, it doesn't matter. Trap 4: "But everyone says it looks good on me!" → Great. Then THEY can wear it. YOU wear what makes YOU feel good.Trap 5: "But I might need it for an event!" → When that event comes, you'll find something that makes you feel AMAZING, not something you settle for.THE RELEASE RITUAL (3 STEPS) Step 1 - Acknowledge: "I kept this because I spent money / thought I should / someone gave it to me."Step 2 - Thank: "Thank you for the lesson. Thank you for teaching me to honor my feelings."Step 3 - Release with Love: Put in donation bag. Say: "I release this with love. May it serve someone who feels amazing in it."WHAT IF MOST OF MY CLOSET DOESN'T FEEL GOOD? First: Breathe. That's good information. You've been carrying emotional weight. Now you get to release it. Second: You don't have to release it all at once. But you DO have to start. What to do:Keep only what makes you feel good (even if it's 5-10 pieces)Quality over quantityIdentify what's actually missingBuild intentionally moving forward (only bring in items that pass the feeling test)YOUR COMMITMENT THIS WEEK I commit to:Going through the section I inventoried last weekAsking "How does it make me feel?" for EACH itemNaming the specific feelingReleasing everything that makes me feel small, ashamed, or disconnectedKeeping ONLY what makes me feel grounded, confident, supportedDropping off donations within 48 hoursSay it out loud. Write it down. Make it real. WHAT THIS CREATES✨ Your closet becomes a sanctuary—every option supports you✨ Your mornings become easier—you're not fighting yourself ✨ Your confidence increases—you're wearing YOUR truth✨ You learn to trust yourself and your feelings That's RECLAIMED. That's UNASHAMED. That's SELF-LOVE.NYOMI'S REAL TALK "When I saw Mel's post, I had been cleaning out my closet yet again. My closet was STILL full. The coats fell down and I'm like, I have to do something different. At the end of this month, I'm getting a new closet. This is me unblocking something more. Opening up to receiving—growth, opportunity, wisdom, elevation, being UNSTUCK. That money I spent? It's gone already. I can't get it back by keeping something that makes me feel bad. It is more than just the clothing in the closet. It's so much more bigger than that."CLOSING AFFIRMATION I trust my feelings. My feelings are my guide. I release what makes me feel small. I keep what makes me feel strong. I honor my truth without apology. I am reclaimed. I am unashamed. I am guided by feeling. How Does This Make ME Feel?" - YOUR Feelings as YOUR Truth MAY 2026 - Week 2: The ONE Question

What happens when you're 10 minutes into recording and realize something feels... off? Today's episode is raw and real. Nyomi stopped recording, went to her altar, pulled cards, and came back with THE distinction that changes everything. YOUR feelings about what serves YOUR life = YOUR truth. Trust them. OTHER people's feelings about YOUR choices ≠ YOUR truth. Don't take them personally. This is the ONE question that will transform your closet—and your life.THE REAL STORYNyomi stopped recording 10 minutes in because the script said "Your feelings are your truth. Trust your feelings." But she thought: "Wait. We're taught feelings AREN'T truth. Feelings are emotions. That's where arguments come from." So she went to her altar, pulled 5 cards, and got THE answer: The distinction is WHOSE feelings. THE DISTINCTION (CRYSTAL CLEAR)YOUR Feelings About YOUR Life = YOUR Truth When you ask: "How does THIS make ME feel?" When you're deciding: "Does THIS serve MY life?" → TRUST THESE FEELINGS. They're YOUR internal compass. OTHER People's Feelings About YOU ≠ YOUR Truth When THEY think you should keep something. When THEY have opinions about YOUR choices. → DON'T TAKE THESE PERSONALLY. That's about THEM, not YOU. EXAMPLES IN YOUR CLOSET (Your feelings = Your truth): You put on a dress. Your body tenses. You feel uncomfortable. → "This doesn't serve me. Release it." TRUST THIS. SOMEONE'S OPINION (Their feelings ≠ Your truth): Friend says: "But you spent money on that! Keep it!" Your truth: It makes you uncomfortable. → Release it anyway. Don't take their opinion personally.MEL ROBBINS' WISDOM "If a piece makes you feel small, ashamed, or disconnected from yourself, it does not belong in your future." The question isn't "Should I keep this?" (logic, external expectations) The question is "How does this make ME feel?" (YOUR internal compass)SHOULD VS. FEEL "Should" = What others expect, what society says, external rules → Disconnects you from what serves YOU "Feel" = YOUR body's wisdom, YOUR heart's truth, YOUR alignment → Guides you to what serves YOUR becomingYOUR BODY KNOWSWhen something supports you: Body relaxes, shoulders drop, you breathe easier, you feel like YOURSELF When something doesn't serve you: Body tenses, you pull at fabric, you avoid mirrors, you feel like PERFORMING Your body's feedback = YOUR truth about what serves YOUR lifeTHE EXERCISE Step 1: Pick up each itemStep 2: Put it on or hold it upStep 3: Ask: "How does this make ME feel?"Step 4: Notice your body's response (relax or tense?) Step 5: Honor that feeling as YOUR truth Keep it if it makes you feel: good, grounded, confident, like yourself Release it if it makes you feel: small, ashamed, uncomfortable, disconnected5 REFLECTION QUESTIONSWhat am I keeping because I "should" instead of because it actually feels good? What makes me feel small, ashamed, or disconnected from myself? What makes me feel confident, grounded, and like MYSELF?How do I feel when I open my closet each morning? If I only kept clothes that made me feel good, what would I release?CLOSING AFFIRMATIONMy feelings about MY life are MY truth.I trust what serves ME.I release what doesn't. I honor my body's wisdom. I follow my internal compass.I let go of "should" and embrace "feel." I am aligned with MY becoming.I am reclaimed. I am unashamed. I am ready.THE BOTTOM LINE For YOUR closet/life: "How does this make ME feel?" → Trust this. It's YOUR truth. For OTHERS' opinions: "That's their feeling, not mine." → Don't take it personally. That's the distinction. That's the key.NEXT EPISODE Action Wednesday: The Feeling Audit - Going through your closet piece by piece doing a feeling check on each item. I definitely had to stop ten minutes in and come back and redo it all over again." If you need extra clarity, the full detailed show notes are on the website. But here's the key: YOUR feelings about YOUR life = trust them. OTHER people's feelings about YOUR choices = don't take them personally. Season 5 = More real, more honest, more action. Let's do the work. Reclaiming Your Closet: The Closet Inventory MAY 2026 - Week 1: Identifying the Three Types & Beginning the Release

Monday, we talked about the map. Today, we draw the lines.Today, we inventory. Today, we identify. Today, we begin the release. In this Action Wednesday, Nyomi gets REAL about her own closet journey—the 200+ wigs, the 30-year-old clothes, the drawer of expensive bras she gave away LAST WEEK, the family memorial t-shirts she released THIS MORNING, and the red carpet dresses she's finally ready to let go. This isn't theory. This is Nyomi doing the work WITH you, in real time, sharing her own struggles and breakthroughs as she reclaims her closet. This is Season 5. This is action. Let's do the work. IN THIS EPISODE The Recap: Three Types of ClothesType 1: Clothes that no longer fit your LIFE (not just body—your actual life, who you are, where you live, what you do, how you move)Type 2: Clothes from old chapters (the job you left, relationships that ended, versions you've outgrown)Type 3: Clothes for a version that never arrived (fantasy clothes, "someday" clothes, "when I'm that person" clothes)Nyomi's REAL Stories (Doing the Work in Real Time): The Background:Cleans her closet at least 6 times a yearSTILL has clothes older than her 30-year-old oldest daughterHad over 200 wigs (now down to maybe 100-150)Used to buy clothes constantly when actively in the industry, going to events, seminarsNow back in production on mainstream projects—her production company doing amazing thingsSome clothes/wigs can now go to her production house to become charactersLast Week's Release:A whole drawer of expensive, custom-made brasVictoria's Secret bras, bras specifically made for her old sizeHad breast implant surgery in August of last yearHas cleaned closet/drawers 3 times since AugustSTILL was holding onto TWO big drawers of bras she could no longer wearFinally bagged them and gave them away LAST WEEKThe Red Carpet Dresses:Still has several red carpet dressesKnows she'll never fit back in them (not just size—doesn't have the body for them post-surgery)Expensive pieces she's been holding onto"But I spent so much money on this!"—finally ready to releaseThis Morning's Release:Family memorial t-shirts from when family members passed awaySome with pictures faded from washingSome she wears sometimes, some she doesn'tHad them for YEARSSat at altar this morning and prayed about releasing themHas their obituaries and pictures displayed—that's memory enoughDoesn't need the garments with their pictures on them to rememberHer Mother's Closet:"I wish I could go into my mother's closet and do it!"Her mother (she's her caregiver) has SO many old clothesBeing her caregiver has been "one" (laughs about it now)Can see the same patterns in her mother's closetThe Mel Robbins Post Timing:Hit her at the EXACT right time last week while cleaning closetThought she was doing it right (cleans 6 times a year!)Realized: still holding blockage, still holding things with old energy and old storiesDivine timing: the expansion happening in her life NEEDS this release nowExercise 1: The Closet Inventory NYOMI WANTS YOU TO ACTUALLY DO THIS (not just think about it): Step 1: Pick ONE SectionOne shelf, one rod, one drawerNot the whole closet—just ONE sectionMake it manageableStep 2: Pull Everything OutDon't leave it in the closetPut it all out where you can see itEvery single item from that sectionStep 3: Sort Into Three PilesPILE 1: Doesn't fit my life anymorePILE 2: From an old chapter I've outgrownPILE 3: For a version of me that never arrivedStep 4: Journal on Each PileFor Pile 1: Why doesn't this fit my life anymore? What has changed? For Pile 2: What chapter was this from? What version of me wore this? Why am I holding onto that chapter? For Pile 3: What version of me was I trying to be? Why didn't that version arrive? What was I trying to prove? Who was I trying to become?Step 5: Make the DecisionGo through each pileKeep or release?Ask yourself: Does this support who I am NOW or who I'm BECOMING?If the answer is no → it goesStep 6: The Physical ReleaseGet donation bagsPut released items IN the bagsTie them upPut them in your carDrop them off within 48 HOURS (this is critical—don't let them sit!)The 4 Common Blocks & How to Overcome Them:BLOCK 1: "But I spent so much money on this" Nyomi's example: The red carpet dressesThe truth: Keeping it won't get your money back. The money is gone whether it's in the closet or at Goodwill. But at least at Goodwill, someone can use it.Your response: "I honor the money I spent. And I release the guilt. Because someone else will love this piece."BLOCK 2: "What if I need it someday?"The truth: You won't. And if you do, you'll find something better that actually fits who you are at that time. Your response: "I trust that I will have what I need when I need it." BLOCK 3: "This reminds me of a good time"Nyomi's example: The family memorial t-shirts she released this morningThe truth: That's beautiful. But memory lives in your heart, not in your closet. You don't need the physical object to remember. Your response: "I carry the memory with me in my heart. I don't need the object." Nyomi's story: "Yesterday, just this morning, I chose to release t-shirts that my family made when family members passed away. I've had them for years. Some with pictures faded from washing. I sat at my altar and prayed that I was going to release them. The thing is, I have a whole area with their obituaries and their pictures. That is memory enough instead of wearing a garment with their pictures on there." BLOCK 4: "I'll fit into this again when I lose weight"Nyomi says: "That was a big one for me. That was a big one for me."The truth: First of all, you are beautiful and handsome enough as you are RIGHT NOW. But second, when you reach that goal—and Nyomi's going to tell you this—you're going to want something NEW. You're going to want new clothes to celebrate the new you, not the old clothes from years ago from the old chapter. Because when you finish the transformation to get that new body, you ain't going to want that old stuff with that old energy, with them old stories on that new reformed body. You're not going to want that. Your response: "I honor my body now. When I change, I'll celebrate with new pieces." Your Commitment for This Week: Write this down. Say it out loud. Make it real:Inventory ONE section of your closetSort into three typesJournal on the stories behind each pileMake the decision: keep or releasePhysically put items into donation bags and drop off within 48 hoursAccountability: Option 1: DM Nyomi on Instagram@TheRealNyomiBanks (spelled N-Y-O-M-I)OR @TheSeasonofSelfLovePodcastTell her which section you inventoried or how many items you're releasingOption 2: Tell an accountability partnerMake it publicMake it realNEXT EPISODE Next Monday - Week 2: "How Does This Make Me Feel?" Reclaiming Your Closet: Your Closet is a Map of Your Past Selves

Your closet is not just clothes. It's a map of your past selves. Old identities. Old chapters. Old versions of you that you've outgrown. And if you want to reclaim your life, you have to reclaim your closet. In this May series kickoff, Nyomi shares the story of her 15-year-old coats in the Las Vegas desert, the Mel Robbins post that stopped her cold, and why she's teaching this AGAIN even though she already did an episode on this years ago. Because growth is a spiral, not a line. And sometimes the universe has to remind you: there's more work to do. This is Season 5. More intentional. More action. This month, we're reclaiming our closets—and our lives. IN THIS EPISODE The Divine Timing:Nyomi was spring cleaning (AGAIN) while planning May content for Ask Nyomi's Love & Mental Health seriesMel Robbins' post about closets came across her timeline and STOPPED HER COLDShe KNEW this was the May series: "This was the message. Expensive, loved them once, represented a version of her that felt "fancy, put together, important"Looking at them now: felt NOTHING. They don't fit who she is. Just taking up space. The Honest Truth: She Taught This Before:"I have to be real with y'all. I've taught this before."A year or two ago: episode called "Clearing Space to Receive: A Journey of Physical and Mental Liberation"Talked about clearing closet, clearing life, making spaceTHOUGHT she had done the workBut those 15-year-old coats? MINDSET MONDAY Unashamed Expansion: When Your Body Forces You to Receive Week 4: Unashamed Expansion - Being "Too Much" Boldly

What if expansion doesn't always feel like moving forward? What if sometimes it feels like your body forcing you to stop? What if being "too much" means you're DOING too much and not BEING enough? In this raw, honest Mindset Monday, Nyomi shares what happened this weekend—chronic migraines in rare form, the mental battle between her human side and her soul side, and the powerful Monday morning altar moment that changed everything.Six cards fell out. A photo from years ago appeared. And every single message spoke directly to where she is RIGHT NOW.This is about redefining expansion. About taking responsibility without judgment. About honoring your body when it asks you to rest. About recognizing that sometimes the discomfort IS the expansion. If you've ever felt like you can't afford to rest while everything is happening—this episode is for you. IN THIS EPISODEThe Migraine Weekend:Chronic migraines in rare form—the kind of pain that makes you question everythingExpensive medication ($1000+ even with insurance) that doesn't even workSaturday morning: 6 hours of full gratitude, then knocked back down by unbearable painLying in bed thinking: "I can't afford to rest. I'm expanding. There's too much to do."Never once thinking: "Maybe the best medicine for me right now is to rest"The Battle: Human Side vs. Soul Side:Human side screaming: "I can't afford to lay here. I'm getting everything I asked for."All weekend: sleeping on and off, body cleansing itself, head so heavyFighting the rest, fighting the stillness, fighting the pauseRest = falling behind / not being productive / missing opportunitiesThe story: "How can I afford to rest when my dreams are coming true?"Monday Morning Altar Moment:"Let's start this week over"Shower, then altarLit candles, saged the room (golden rose room), saged bodyPrayed for guidance, strength, help with tongue, words to self, visions, stepsAsked: "Are there any messages for me today?"Six cards fell out of the deckThe Six Cards That Spoke:Do Your Best Because You Love It - "Do your best and take action because you love it, not because you expect a reward. When you take action without expecting a reward, you enjoy every action and you can even receive greater rewards than you imagined."Sacral Chakra - Abundance - "I am worthy and I deserve an abundance of anything that I require. I watch my thoughts to ensure that I am honouring and respecting myself. I honour myself by knowing that I am worthy to receive. I am open to receive—now! I remind myself that it is a sign of strength to ask for help."Stay Present - New Dream - "Keep your attention on today, and stay in the present moment. This is the beginning of a new understanding. A new dream."Don't Take It Personally - "When you see other people as they are without taking it personally, you can never be hurt by what they say or do. Even if others lie to you, it is okay. They are lying to you because they are afraid you will discover that they are not perfect."Throat Chakra - Truthfulness - "I am truthful and honest with myself. I aim to overcome any fears about speaking my truth, and I speak in a loving and considerate way."Being Impeccable (THE KEY) - "Being impeccable, you take responsibility for your actions, but you do NOT judge or blame yourself for anything."The Photo:A photo from years ago popped up while taking pictures of the cardsNyomi standing tall, full red head, fully in her powerShe was already living it. She was already expansive. She just didn't know it yet.The Chills & The Lesson:Chills down her spine when she saw it all togetherThe universe was telling her what her human side didn't want to hearExpansion doesn't always look like MORE. Sometimes it looks like STOP.Sometimes expansion means your body forcing you to rest so you can receiveSometimes being "too much" means you're DOING too much and not BEING enoughWhat Unashamed Expansion Really Means:We think expansion means:Doing moreBeing visible everywhereSaying yes to everythingHustling harderNever stoppingAlways pushing forwardBut what if expansion also means:Resting moreBeing selective about where you show upSaying no to protect your energyHonoring your limitsPausing when your body asks you toReceiving instead of always givingYou Already Carry Everything You Need:That photo showed: she was already living it years agoI don't need to do more to prove my worthI don't need to hustle harder to deserve restI don't need to be productive every second to be valuableI already have everything I need. I just need to stop long enough to receive it.The Tension:Expansion isn't always comfortableSometimes expansion hurtsSometimes it feels like pressure, like your body betraying you, like everything falling apartIn those moments, we judge ourselves, blame ourselvesBut what if the discomfort IS the expansion? What if the pain is your body saying: "Slow down. Integrate. Receive."What if rest IS the medicine? What if pausing IS the progress? This Week's Focus:Honoring your body when it asks you to restTaking responsibility without judging yourselfRecognizing that expansion isn't always comfortableUnderstanding that sometimes you have to STOP to RECEIVETrusting that you already carry everything you need5 REFLECTION QUESTIONS FOR THE WEEKQuestion 1: Where is my body asking me to rest that I'm ignoring? Be honest. Where are you pushing through when you should be pausing? Where is your body saying "stop" and you're saying "not yet"?Question 2: Where am I judging or blaming myself for being human? Where are you taking responsibility AND adding judgment? Where are you telling yourself you're falling behind or failing because you need rest, because you're tired, because you can't do it all?Question 3: What does expansion look like when it's uncomfortable? When have you expanded in ways that didn't feel like progress? When has growth felt like being knocked down? When has rest been the medicine?Question 4: What am I doing too much of, and what do I need to BE more of? Where are you DOING when you should be BEING? Where are you hustling when you should be receiving? Where are you proving when you should be resting?Question 5: What do I already carry that I've been looking for outside myself? What are you seeking—peace, worth, validation, rest, abundance—that you already have within you? What are you chasing that's already here?CLOSING AFFIRMATION I am expanding even when it's uncomfortable.I honor my body when it asks me to rest.I take responsibility without judging myself.I am worthy of receiving now.I already carry everything I need.I am unashamed of my expansion.I am unashamed of being "too much."I am reclaimed. I am unashamed. I am expanding.WHO THIS EPISODE IS FOR✨ If you're in expansion right now—if everything is happening and you feel like you can't keep up ✨ If your body is asking you to rest and you're fighting it✨ If you're judging yourself for being human, for needing breaks, for not being able to do it all✨ If you've been told rest is laziness and you need permission to pause✨ If you're trying to prove your worth through productivityKEY TAKEAWAYExpansion doesn't always look like MORE.Sometimes it looks like STOP. But instead, she shows up—because using your voice even when it's hard IS the lesson. In this raw, honest Mindset Monday, Nyomi shares how she learned to catch herself softening her voice with qualifiers like "I'm sorry, but..." and "This might be dumb, but..." Unashamed Growth: Redefining What It Means to Bloom Week 1: Unashamed Space - Taking Up Room to Grow

"Have you seen any growth from me?"This weekend, someone Nyomi loves asked her this five-word question—and shame almost kept her from answering honestly. In this powerful season premiere for April, Nyomi shares the story of choosing truth over comfort, the moment shame tried to creep in, and why she chose to speak her truth with compassion anyway. After a month of reclaiming boundaries in March, April is about what you do with the space those boundaries created. It's about growing boldly, visibly, and unapologetically—even when your growth doesn't look like what others expect. NEW FORMAT ALERT:April is action month. Mindset Monday introduces the weekly theme. Action Wednesday (replacing Wisdom Wednesday) gives you the tools to implement it. No guests this month—just you, Nyomi, and the work of growing unapologetically.IN THIS EPISODE The Weekend & The Altar Moment:Nyomi wakes up at her altar feeling heavy after a weekend of both amazing and life-altering events for loved onesEven in the hard moments, she saw the blessing, the growth, the opportunity hidden in difficultyThe heaviness wasn't about the weekend—it was about a conversation and a question she was afraid to answer honestlyThe Five-Word Question:"Have you seen any growth from me?"One honest question from someone she lovesThe moment she realized they might be measuring two different thingsThe Problem with Defining Growth:Some people think growth means: career advancement, buying a home, getting the promotion, checking boxes—external markers everyone can seeFor others (like Nyomi): growth means becoming a better you, finding who you are, self-love journey, not being limited by expectations or fearGrowth means healing, setting boundaries, showing up when it's hard, choosing yourselfThe Shame That Tried to Creep In:Shame whispered: "Don't say what you really think. Don't hurt their feelings. Just tell them what they want to hear."What if her definition of their growth isn't what they're looking for? What if she honors their internal journey but they think she's saying they haven't accomplished anything?Shame said: "Just shrink. Just make it easy. Just say yes and move on."The pause was long and loud—the quietest, loudest moment of the conversationThe Choice to Speak Truth with Compassion:"First, know that this is coming from love.""Yes, I've seen your growth. I've seen you become more aware. I've seen you set boundaries you wouldn't have set before. I've seen you ask for help when you used to suffer in silence. I've seen you show up for yourself. I've seen you healing."Then the critical insight: "The fact that you're sitting here asking me this question means you're aware that more growth is needed or warranted on your part. And that awareness? That's growth too."5 Lessons About Growth:Growth has no single definition - What looks like growth to you might not look like growth to someone else. You don't have to measure your growth by someone else's ruler. You don't have to apologize for growing in ways that don't fit the script.Shame will try to silence your truth about growth - Shame will tell you that your version of growth isn't "real" growth. Shame will make you apologize for growing slowly. But shame is a liar.Growth requires space - You can't grow in a space where you're constantly being drained, violated, dismissed, or shrunk. The boundaries you set in March created the space for April's growth.Asking for validation is growth - If you're asking "Am I growing?" that means you're aware, paying attention, not on autopilot. Asking is part of the process. Asking is growth.Unashamed growth means defining it for yourself and standing in it boldly - You don't have to shrink your definition of growth to make other people comfortable. You can grow quietly, internally, in ways only you can see. And it still counts. The Bathroom Story (Real-Life Example):Nyomi shares a perfect example of unashamed growth: redecorating her downstairs bathroomShe took down silver wallpaper, got green paint swatches three months ago, finally committedStarted second-guessing: "I think I'm doing too much"Her husband reminded her: "You be you. You've done so much work to be comfortable in your skin. When people walk into our home, they walk in one way, when they leave, they leave another way."The bathroom is part of her sanctuary, part of transformation, part of truthIt's a reflection of her—and being unashamed of that reflection is growth"It just happened to be the color green"Introducing: The Season of Growth (Unashamed)April theme: Unashamed GrowthAfter reclaiming boundaries in March, now it's time to say YES—to expansion, blooming, taking up space, becoming more of who you already areDoing this without shame, guilt, or making ourselves smallNEW FORMAT: Mindset Monday + Action WednesdayPause on Wisdom Wednesday guests for April (guests return in May)Mindset Monday: Introduces the weekly theme, shares story, teaches lesson, sets intentionAction Wednesday: Tools, exercises, challenges, practical implementation steps"Growth doesn't happen by thinking about it. (Not how parents/friends/society define it—how do YOU define it? What does it look like, feel like? What matters to you?)Where have I been ashamed of my growth because it doesn't look like what I "should" be doing? (Where have you apologized for growing slowly? Shrunk your progress? Dismissed your healing because it's not a promotion/house/relationship?)What space did my boundaries create in March? (Time? Energy? Emotional bandwidth? Physical space? Mental clarity? What opened up when you started saying no?)What am I afraid to fill that space with? (Be honest. What do you want to grow but you're scared to claim? What do you want to pursue but you're afraid people will judge? What do you want to expand into but you feel guilty about?)What would unashamed growth look like for me this month? (If you didn't care what anyone thought, how would you grow? If shame wasn't a factor, what would you pursue? If you were completely free, what would you bloom into?)EPISODE AFFIRMATIONI define my own growth. I honor my journey without apologizing.I claim the space my boundaries created.I bloom boldly, visibly, and unapologetically. I am unashamed of my season of growth. I am unashamed of taking up space.I am unashamed of becoming more of who I already am. I am reclaimed.I am unashamed. The Month You Reclaimed Your Boundaries: A March Reflection (Mindset Monday) What if March was the month everything changed

In this powerful final Mindset Monday of the month, Nyomi Banks closes out the Reclaiming Your Boundaries series with a heartfelt reflection on what it really means to choose yourself—without apology, without guilt, and without shrinking to keep others comfortable. This episode isn’t just a recap—it’s a celebration. Nyomi reminds you that boundaries aren’t walls meant to shut people out. They’re bridges that lead you back home to yourself. Throughout March, you didn’t just talk about boundaries—you practiced them in real time: boundaries with fear, shame, old patterns, people-pleasing, overworking, and even the internal voice that tries to keep you small. With grounding, truth-telling, and tenderness, Nyomi invites you to honor how far you’ve come and step into what’s next with clarity and confidence.Inside this reflection episode, Nyomi revisits the key wisdom from March’s guest conversations—including somatic “yes/no” tools, leaving self-abandonment behind, saying no to shame, and choosing joy as a boundary against fear. She also shares her own lived lessons: setting boundaries with reactive language, navigating caregiving with intention, and learning that healing and living can happen at the same time.In this episode, you’ll reflect on:Why boundaries are bridges (not walls) and how they reconnect you to your truthThe real purpose of boundaries: peace, autonomy, self-respect, and protectionHow boundaries reveal who respects you—and who benefits from your lack of themWhat you learned about your voice, your energy, and your relationships this month5 journal prompts to help you integrate March and commit to your next 30 daysA closing affirmation to anchor your growth and celebrate your winsIf you’ve been learning to say “no” without guilt, stop explaining yourself, rest without apology, or finally take up space—this episode is your reminder: you are not the same person you were at the beginning of the month. You are stronger, clearer, and freer. And you’re just getting started. Keywords: reclaiming boundaries, March reflection, mindset Monday, self-love podcast, Nyomi Banks, people pleasing recovery, emotional boundaries, healing journey, self-trust, boundaries and guilt, boundaries and relationships, inner critic, caregiving boundaries, speaking life, impeccable words, personal growth, reclaimed and unashamedMarch 2026 Episodes Mentioned:Michael Ostrolenk (March 4) - Somatic BoundariesTracy Smith (March 11) - People-Pleasing to Self-TrustRussell Van Brocklen (March 18) - Shame-Free LearningTerry Bean - Reclaimed & Unashamed Joy: Remembering the Magic WithinMindset Monday: Breaking Free from the Recovery BubbleMindset Monday: Impeccability of the WordConnect with Nyomi:Website: AskNyomi.comInstagram: @AskNyomi (Tell me: What boundary are you most proud of this month?)Tune in: Ask Nyomi Bridging the Gap - Thursdays Tags:#ReclaimingYourBoundaries #Boundaries #SelfLove #MindsetMonday #NyomiBanks #PeoplePleasing #SelfTrust #EmotionalHealing #PersonalGrowth #ReclaimedAndUnashamed #HealingIntentionally #BoundariesAreBridges #SpeakLife #InnerCritic #SelfRespectBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-season-of-self-love--6003379/support."Thank you for spending this time with me on The Season of Self Love. Vault Release: Reinvention, Grief, Creativity & Choosing Yourself Again (with Gregory Coppola + Dani Foster)

Hey my beautiful people—quick note before we begin. Today’s episode is a special vault release—a conversation I recorded earlier that I didn’t get to share when it first aired. And honestly, it’s right on time. Because our 2026 theme is Reclaimed & Unashamed, and this episode is all about reinvention, grief, creativity, and choosing yourself again. This episode is a heartfelt blend of reflection, grief processing, spiritual alignment, and creative rebirth, and it’s especially for anyone who feels like they’re standing in the hallway of life—unsure which door to open next.In this episode, we talk about:Reinvention after burnout: Gregory shares what it looked like to walk away from Hollywood and the reward system that promised happiness—but delivered emptiness.Grief as a turning point: Dani opens up about losing her husband to pancreatic cancer and how grief reshaped her identity, her voice, and her path.Surrender as a spiritual practice: How letting go of control can open the door to a life you couldn’t have designed on your own.Creativity as medicine: Why art, writing, and storytelling can hold you together while you’re rebuilding your life.Breaking the “formula”: The pressure to be who the world expects—and what it takes to reclaim your truth.Visibility, courage, and self-love: Being seen can feel risky, but hiding costs you your life force.Community and chosen connection: The power of having someone who can hold space for your messy becoming.Key takeaways (Reclaimed & Unashamed energy):You are allowed to outgrow who you used to be.You can honor grief without letting it define your future.Self-love isn’t always soft—it can be messy, brave, and disruptive.Your creativity isn’t “extra.” It may be the very thing that brings you back to yourself.About the guests:Gregory Coppola is an artist, author, and entrepreneur. The Power of Service and Community with Dr. Victoria Medeley: Vulnerability, Allyship & Self-Love

In this powerful episode of The Season of Self-Love Podcast, host Nyomi Banks sits down with Dr. Victoria “Dr. V” Medvec—speaker, mental health advocate, organizational psychologist, and author of Act Like an Ally, Work with an Ally—to explore how service, vulnerability, and allyship all connect back to self-love. Dr. V shares her deeply personal journey with mental illness, cancer, and alopecia—and how choosing to shave her head and “own” her baldness became an act of radical self-acceptance. She also talks about burning out in traditional workplaces, then creating a company that actually honors humanity, flexibility, and mental health. In This Episode, You’ll Hear About:How living with invisible and visible challenges shaped Dr. V’s purposeHer decision to shave her remaining hair and why she sees that as winning, not losingWhat it means to build a workplace that doesn’t require people to sacrifice their well-beingThe moment she pulled her wig off on stage during a talk and reintroduced herself, fully vulnerableWhy vulnerability is a bridge to deeper connection, not a weaknessHow to give from a place of overflow instead of depletionThe real meaning of allyship—and why “ally” is not a label you give yourselfHow her book Act Like an Ally, Work with an Ally is literally two books in one, designed to be read in partnershipKey Themes & Takeaways:Vulnerability as Strength: Sharing your story (cancer, mental health, alopecia, grief) can unlock connection, support, and healing—for you and others.Self-Love & Service: Serving others from a full cup is part of self-love; serving from depletion leads to resentment and burnout.Allyship as Action: Ally is a verb, not an identity. True allyship is a two-way partnership between the ally and the person they’re supporting.Daily Check-In Practice: Ask yourself:What’s one thing I did today that served others? What’s one thing I did today that served myself?About the Book: Act Like an Ally, Work with an Ally is a dual-sided book: one side for allies, one side for partners (those receiving allyship). The Power of Service and Community with Jamie Lerner | Wisdom Wednesday

Join host Nyomi Banks on The Season of Self-Love Podcast for a Wisdom Wednesday conversation with coach Jamie Lerner. Explore how community service becomes an extension of self-love, why you must fill your cup before giving to others, and how authentic service transforms both giver and receiver. In This Episode:Why self-love must come before service to othersThe difference between giving from a full cup vs. an empty oneHow to find service opportunities that align with your authentic selfOvercoming burnout and the "should" mentality in givingJamie's powerful story about her mother and self-connectionAbout Jamie Lerner:Jamie is a coach, connector, and lifelong advocate of living from alignment and purpose. She brings a beautiful perspective on how community service becomes an extension of self-love.Key Insights:Service Starts with Self-Love: "We need to be in a place where we are loving ourselves before we can authentically be in service to others. Once we're in that place, it never feels like service. It's just the natural extension of who we are."The Full Cup Philosophy:You can't give from an empty cup without resentmentReceivers can feel when giving comes from someone who isn't full enough"Put your own mask on first"—but this is counterintuitive, especially for womenSelf-service first—it's a lose-lose when you don'tJamie's Morning Practice:First thing in the morning, identify one thing you appreciate about yourself—not what someone else appreciates, but what YOU appreciate about you for you. When to Give: "When you are in alignment and feeling good about yourself, opportunities present themselves. Then we say yes—there's no hesitation. It's just a yes."The "Should" vs. "Could" Distinction:Don't give because you think you should—that doesn't feel good. Give because you could and want to.Jamie's Personal Journey:Raised in Service: Grew up in a home where service was the foundation. Home always filled with people from all over the world. Parents' motto: "If there's a will, there's a way." Raised to feel it's a privilege to serve others. Why She Volunteers: "It almost feels selfish on my part. I'm getting so much out of it."Her Mother's Story:Jamie had no emotional connection with her mother her entire life, despite being extremely connected to herself. When her mother was transitioning in the ICU, Jamie finally felt all the love pour through. Then her mother passed.Jamie realized: Her mother couldn't connect with her because she wasn't connected with herself. This became her book's message—connection with ourselves is the basis for every other connection.Jamie's Superpower: Born with inner knowing and self-connection. "I was impossible to be influenced. I only heard the sound of my own voice." That self-connection is now her superpower.Listener Q&A:Q: How can I give back when I'm still healing myself? Jamie: "When you're still healing, giving back is maybe not the priority. Use that energy for yourself. Actually, the healing IS the giving back."Q: What's something small I can do to make a difference? Jamie: "Just being present in anyone's space, you are making a difference. When you are present, that is such a present for others."Powerful Truths:"Know yourself, trust yourself, love yourself—you are your own greatest resource.""Healing is not a destination—healing is an ongoing process.""We need to get back to trusting ourselves, knowing ourselves, loving ourselves. That's where it all is. There's nothing outside of us."Nyomi's Insights:Bob Proctor quote: "I'm being me for me—not for my wife or children or the world, but me for me."Her therapist's advice: Don't fill your cup halfway—let it overflow so others receive your overflowOn today's world: "Tap into the God within you. Outside of you, it's going to be crazy. Find the strength within you."Perfect for listeners interested in: Service without burnout, self-connection, authentic alignment, overcoming the "should" mentality, self-love practices.Connect with Jamie: www.jamie-lerner.comNovember Theme: Giving Back: The Power of Service and CommunitySubscribe at theseasonofselflovepodcast.com or AskNyomi.com#ServiceAndCommunity #SelfLoveFirst #FullCup #Alignment #GivingBack #SeasonOfSelfLoveBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-season-of-self-love--6003379/support."Thank you for spending this time with me on The Season of Self Love. Finding Your Service Sweet Spot: Discovering How YOU Are Called to Give Back | Mindset Monday

Join host Nyomi Banks on The Season of Self-Love Podcast for a Mindset Monday exploring how to discover your unique calling to serve. Stop trying to serve in ways that drain you and find the intersection where your gifts meet the world's needs—your service sweet spot.In This Episode: • The 5 T's of service: Time, Talent, Treasure, Testimony, and Touch• Why service shouldn't feel like obligation or burden • How to identify your natural gifts (even the ones you overlook) • The difference between alignment and obligation • Why small acts create big impacts• Practical exercises to discover your service sweet spot this weekThe 5 Forms of Service:Time - Showing up, being present, volunteering hours Talent - Using your specific skills (podcasting, writing, design, teaching, organizing) Treasure - Financial support, donations, supporting small businesses Testimony - Sharing your story so others don't feel alone Touch - Physical presence, hugs, sitting in silence, energy healingYou don't have to do all 5. Pay attention to which 1-2 make your spirit say "YES, that's me!"Three Questions to Identify Your Gifts:1. What do you do effortlessly that others struggle with? Nyomi's example: Creating safe space for hard conversations, sitting with pain without fixing it. From childhood, people always stopped her for advice (called her "the Black Dear Abby").2. What activities make you lose track of time? Your gifts are connected to your joy. Nyomi's example: Deep conversations for hours feel like 20 minutes; working on podcast content and forgetting to eat3. What do people constantly ask you for help with? These aren't random requests—they're mirrors reflecting your gifts. What are YOU the go-to person for?Alignment vs. Obligation:Critical Truth: If service constantly drains you, it's NOT your calling.Service shouldn't feel like a burdenHealthy service flows from your gifts and energizes youSaying no to some forms of service isn't selfish—it's stewardship of your giftsNyomi's Burnout Story:Said yes to everything early in her journey. Result: Burnt out, exhausted, resentful. Started asking before saying yes: "Is this aligned with my gifts? Does this energize me?" Her service became MORE powerful when she gave from alignment, not obligation.Example: The Fashion ShowA friend asked Nyomi to help coordinate a fashion show. She knew it wasn't aligned but said yes out of obligation. Nothing worked. She got ill. Days later, her friend texted: "Spiritual guidance told me I'm not supposed to do this." God/the universe had to say no FOR her.The Power of Small Acts:You don't need a nonprofit, platform, or impressive-looking service. Sometimes the most powerful service is quiet and small:Daily TikTok encouragement notes (5-10 minutes)Kind word to a tired cashierTexting "thinking about you today"The way you raise your children (breaking generational curses)Modeling self-love so others learn they can love themselves tooDon't diminish small acts done with great love. You don't have to change the whole world—just change someone's day.Practical Exercise for This Week:Step 1: List 5 things you're naturally good at (not trained skills—natural gifts)Step 2: Which bring you joy when you share them? Circle those—they're your clues.Step 3: Take ONE aligned action this week that flows from your gifts. Notice: Does it energize or deplete you?Affirmation:"My gifts are unique and needed. I don't have to serve like anyone else. I serve like me. I release the pressure to do it all and embrace the freedom to do what I am called to do. Small acts with great love create big change."Perfect for listeners interested in: Finding your unique purpose, serving without burnout, identifying natural gifts, setting boundaries, turning pain into purpose, creating ripple effects.November Theme: Giving Back: The Power of Service and Community (Week 2)Subscribe at theseasonofselflovepodcast.com or AskNyomi.com#ServiceSweetSpot #FindingYourCalling #GivingBack #Alignment #SelfLove #Purpose #SeasonOfSelfLoveBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-season-of-self-love--6003379/support."Thank you for spending this time with me on The Season of Self Love. The Power of Service & Community: Cultivating Connection Through Conscious Love with Christian de la Huerta | Wisdom Wednesday

Join host Nyomi Banks on The Season of Self-Love Podcast for a transformative Wisdom Wednesday conversation with Christian de la Huerta—spiritual teacher, breathwork facilitator, and author with 30 years of experience guiding people through deep personal transformation. Explore how personal growth ties into collective healing and why conscious love is the foundation of authentic connection. In This Episode: • Understanding the ego mind: Why we get stuck in power struggles • The difference between intensity and intimacy in relationships• How unconscious wounds from childhood sabotage our relationships• Breathwork as a tool for healing past trauma stored in the body• Why self-knowledge is the foundation of loving others• The power of surrender as an empowering (not disempowering) act • Distinguishing worldly power from soulful power• Why women's empowerment is critical for global healingAbout Christian de la Huerta: For 30 years, Christian has been guiding people through deep personal transformation. His wisdom spans spirituality, breathwork, and emotional healing. His latest book, Conscious Love: Transforming Our Relationship to Relationships, helps people break through patterns that block real, meaningful connection.Key Concepts Explored: The Ego Mind Explained: Christian offers a powerful visual: "If you put a baseball in the center of a stadium, that's the ego. Who we are is actually the freaking stadium."The ego = sense of separate identity (the "I")We've allowed this tiny part of who we are to think it's ALL who we areThe ego makes important life choices from a limited, fear-based perspectiveUnderstanding the ego allows us to pause before reacting and choose our responseWhy Relationships Fail: Most people struggle with relationships because:We approach them expecting someone to "complete us" or "make us happy"We're running relationships from subconscious wounds we're not even aware ofWe react to present situations based on old hurts and childhood conclusionsWe suppress painful beliefs ("I'm not good enough") which then sabotage our relationshipsWe attract the wrong people or people who aren't available as a form of self-sabotageThe Honeymoon Phase vs. Real Love: Adapted from Scott Peck's The Road Less Traveled:Initial infatuation/lust = collapsed ego boundaries (feels amazing but temporary)When the honeymoon ends (3-9 months), ego walls come back upReal loving begins when the honeymoon endsLove isn't the feeling—it's the act of placing ourselves outside our comfort zone for another's spiritual growthWe confuse intensity with intimacy, lust with loveBreathwork for Healing Trauma: Christian teaches breathwork that heals past trauma quickly and effectively:Breathe in a circular connected way for 60-90 minutesBypasses the mind and goes directly to trauma stored in the bodyTalk therapy helps us understand why we do things, but trauma lives in the bodyBreathwork clears old wounds permanently—lives change after one sessionOriginally called "rebirthing" because people heal their birth trauma and resetThe Power of Surrender: From Christian's book Awakening the Soul of Power:Surrender is NOT giving up, wimping out, or throwing in the towelSurrender is an incredibly empowering and courageous actIt's about releasing control and allowing Spirit/God to leadMisunderstanding surrender keeps us stuck in ego-driven choicesTwo Types of Power:Worldly/Ego Power: Hierarchy, control, fear, force, domination—requires pushing others downSoulful Power: Gandhi, Dr. King, nonviolence—dramatic change without violenceGandhi brought the British Empire to its knees without shooting a gun or landing a punchWe reject power because we fear corruption, but in doing so, we give our power awayHow many times have we said "yes" when inside it was a "no"?Why Women's Empowerment Matters: From Awakening the Soul of Power:The single most important thing that needs to happen in the worldNot to idealize women or put them on a pedestalNot to give women more mess to clean upBecause we've been running off balance between masculine and feminine energies for 6,000+ yearsPatriarchy turned the feminine into "less than" and "weakness"—a twisted lie and instrument of controlNyomi's Personal Revelation: Nyomi shares her explant journey as an example of soulful power:Had breast implants for 20+ years, causing illnessInitially wasn't going to share her journey publicly (ego/insecurity)Realized: "How can you talk about self-love when you're moving from insecurity?""I used to say I'm 80% authentic—each boob was 10%. I needed to take them out to be 100% fully connected."Watched documentary Explant and saw how authorities dismissed women's voicesBlack box warnings exist on implants, but doctors aren't required to inform patientsMisuse of power: "They dismissed most of the women's voices"Now advocates for her daughters, granddaughter, and all womenPowerful Truths Shared:"How can we expect anybody to love us if we don't love ourselves? And how can we love ourselves if we don't know ourselves?""Love starts within. It all begins with self-knowledge and self-awareness.""Just because we suppress painful beliefs doesn't mean they go away—they fester under the surface.""We subconsciously sabotage relationships to ensure the very thing we're trying to avoid: ending up alone.""The breath is the beginning and end of everything. Breath is life.""When the honeymoon ends is when the work of actual loving begins.""Love is placing ourselves outside our comfort zone for the sake of another's spiritual growth."Christian's Spiritual Journey:Studied psychology; father was a psychiatristRealized psychology ignored spirituality—an integral part of being humanRaised Catholic, told he'd "burn in hell for eternity" for being gayHad to "throw the baby out with the baptismal water" and find other spiritual pathsExplored Eastern religions (Buddhism, Hinduism), indigenous traditionsSpent 20s achieving success but felt an "expanding hole in my gut—something was missing"Started searching for meaning, purpose, and authentic spiritual connectionPerfect for listeners interested in:Conscious relationships and breaking toxic patternsBreathwork and trauma healingUnderstanding the ego mindSpiritual awakening and personal powerWomen's empowerment and feminine energyLGBTQ+ spirituality and finding authentic faithService as a path to self-loveHealing childhood wounds affecting adult relationshipsChristian's Books:Coming Out Spiritually (first book)Awakening the Soul of Power (how to step into power without hierarchy, control, or domination)Conscious Love: Transforming Our Relationship to Relationships (latest—10 challenges we face in relationships)Connect with Christian de la Huerta:Website: SoulfulPower.comBooks available on Amazon or local bookstoresSocial media links available on websiteNovember Theme: Giving Back: The Power of Service and Community (Week 1) Series: Year of ReBirth 2025 -Season 4: The Season of Healing Intentionally This episode is a masterclass in understanding why relationships fail, how to heal trauma at its source, and why personal transformation creates collective healing. Mindset Monday: Why Giving Back is the Ultimate Act of Self-Love | November Giving Back Series

Join host Nyomi Banks on The Season of Self-Love Podcast for a transformative Mindset Monday kicking off November's Giving Back series. Discover why the most powerful act of self-love isn't a bubble bath or spa day—it's serving others from a place of overflow and purpose. In This Episode:• Why true self-love includes recognizing you're part of something bigger• Service as spiritual practice vs. martyrdom and self-sacrifice• The Full Cup Philosophy: You can't pour from an empty cup• How your healing journey prepares you to hold space for others • The ripple effect: One person's healing inspires another's transformation• Turning your pain into purpose through authentic service • Why self-care isn't selfish—it's preparation for serviceKey Concepts Explored: Service as Spiritual Practice Nyomi reframes what service means—not sacrifice or depletion, but alignment with purpose:Every morning at her altar, she asks: "How can I be of service today?"Service rooted in spiritual practice connects us to something greater than ourselvesWhen service becomes prayer, it stops feeling like obligation and starts feeling like devotionTrue service isn't about what you're doing for someone—it's about who you're being through the actThe Full Cup Philosophy Self-care isn't selfish—it's preparation for service:You can't pour from an empty cup (but there's deeper truth here)Self-care = filling your cup so when it's time to pour out, you have something substantial to givePouring from an empty cup = service feels like sacrifice, leads to burnout and resentmentPouring from overflow = service feels like joy, purpose, and extension of your abundanceWatching you fill your cup gives others permission to fill theirs tooThe Ripple Effect One woman's healing inspires another, creating waves of transformation:Nyomi's story gave women permission to start their own healing journeysSome started podcasts, wrote books, created healing businesses after hearing her truthYou don't always see the ripples you create, but trust they're thereEvery time you choose healing over hiding, you create a rippleYour healing isn't just for you—it's for your children, friends, and strangers who need your storyService That Honors Your Journey Every struggle was preparation:Your pain wasn't given as a gift, but once you survive and heal, you have a choiceKeep that healing to yourself OR use it to light the way for othersWhen you choose service, you reclaim your pain and give it new meaningYou transform what happened TO you into something that happens FOR someone elseThat's alchemy: turning wounds into wisdomNyomi's Personal Stories: The Divine Download Post-Surgery: After explant surgery, tender chest and heart, Nyomi felt an overwhelming knowing: "Your story is someone else's survival guide." She realized everything she'd been through—the pain, shame, unraveling, rebuilding—wasn't just for her.Her Daughter's Birthday Call: Nyomi's oldest daughter (turning 34) called in tears to say thank you: "I moved here 10 years ago at 24 with my baby in a suitcase, wondering how I'd make it without my mama. Now I feel so full. Thank you for talking into me and having hard conversations." Nyomi told her: "Now that you've been through your healing journey, your pain has to be purposeful. Share your story."The Journey from Adult Industry to Healing Advocate:Initially resistant: "Who am I to help anyone? I'm still healing myself."Realized: You don't have to be fully healed to help someone elseThe most powerful medicine is being a few steps ahead and saying "Let me show you the way"In sharing her story, she reclaimed itIn helping other women through explant journeys, she continues her own healingPowerful Truths Shared:"Your story is someone else's survival guide""Self-care isn't selfish. It's preparation for service.""Service isn't about what you're doing for someone. It's about who you're being through the act of service.""My pain will not be wasted. My journey will not be meaningless. I will take what tried to break me and use it to help others break free.""You don't have to have it all figured out to start serving. You just have to be willing to share where you are and what you've learned.""Your healing is never just for you. You are here to serve and the world needs what only you can give."Three Action Steps for This Week: 1. Journal Prompt: "How has someone's service to me changed my life?"Think about when someone showed up for you (teacher, friend, stranger's story)How did that service impact you and change your trajectory? What does that teach you about the power of your own service?2. Identify One Way to Serve: What's one concrete way you can be of service this week from your overflow (not depletion)?Overcome financial struggle? Mentor someone on building their businessHealed from toxic relationship? Hold space for a friend going through a breakupLearned to set boundaries? Model that for your children3. Reflection Question: "What does a full cup look like for me?"Is it rest? Creativity? Spiritual practices? Therapy? Nature? Saying no more often?Get clear on what your full cup requires and make those things non-negotiableAffirmation: "I give from a place of overflow, not depletion. My service is an extension of my self-love. As I heal, I help others heal. As I rise, I lift others with me. My story has purpose. My pain has power. And my service creates ripples of transformation that reach far beyond what I can see. I am full. I am enough. And I am here to serve." Perfect for listeners interested in:Finding purpose through serviceTurning pain into purposeSpiritual practices and altar workBreaking generational cursesCreating ripple effects of transformationAuthentic service vs. martyrdomSelf-care as preparation for serviceBuilding community through healingNovember Theme: Giving Back: The Power of Service and Community (Week 1) Series: Year of ReBirth 2025 - Season 4: The Season of Healing Intentionally This episode reframes service as the ultimate act of self-love—not sacrifice or depletion, but purposeful overflow that honors your journey and creates waves of transformation for others. From a promising football career to an unexpected detainment in China, Chancellor's journey demonstrates how gratitude and resilience can turn life's most challenging moments into platforms for empowerment and purpose.🎯 What You'll Discover: • How to maintain mental strength and accountability during life's lowest moments • The power of transforming trauma into purpose through storytelling • Why adversity introduces us to our true character and potential • How to rebuild identity after losing what defined you • Practical ways to turn setbacks into comebacks through mindset shifts • The importance of embracing every choice and decision as part of your growth💫 Chancellor's Transformation Story: Born and raised in Atlanta, Chancellor didn't start playing football until 8th grade - late by Georgia standards where most kids begin at 4 or 5. Through sheer determination and manifestation ("I'm going D-I" became his daily mantra), he earned a Division I scholarship to Stetson University. After graduation, he moved to China to teach English, but six months into what was supposed to be a year-long journey, everything changed with three knocks on his apartment door.⚡ The Beijing Experience: On April 4, 2019, Chancellor was arrested by Beijing police for cannabis use and spent 14 days in Beijing Penitentiary as the only foreigner among 14 Chinese cellmates. With no shared language, no communication with the outside world, and only a plastic bowl and spoon, he faced the ultimate test of mental resilience. Rather than breaking him, this experience became the foundation for his purpose-driven life.🌟 The Power of Accountability: "I constantly knew what I was doing and the repercussions from my decision making. I can't really get upset with nobody but myself. I got to take this to the chin. I knew my mental was still going to be intact, my spirit was still going to be intact."🔥 From Prison to Purpose: What started as casual storytelling to friends about his experience became a bestselling book when his friend DeMarco Reddens suggested he write about it. Taking Chancellor's phone and creating an outline in his notes app, DeMarco sparked what would become a publishing empire - six books and counting, with "Fourteen Days in Beijing" hitting #1 in multiple genres over 15 times.💎 The Coaching Connection: Chancellor now uses his experience to coach young football players, teaching them that "adversity introduces a man to himself." His prison experience provides powerful lessons about pushing through challenges, maintaining character under pressure, and discovering what you're truly made of when everything is stripped away.🛠️ Building Abundance from Adversity: Chancellor's journey from detained teacher to bestselling author and coach demonstrates several key principles:Accountability Over Blame - Taking full responsibility for your choicesMental Resilience - Maintaining inner strength regardless of external circumstancesPurpose from Pain - Recognizing that difficult experiences often contain your greatest giftsManifestation Power - Speaking your goals into existence with unwavering beliefIdentity Reinvention - Learning to redefine yourself when old identities no longer serve📚 The Publishing Empire: Since "Fourteen Days in Beijing" launched in 2020, Chancellor has:Published 6 books total (4 authored, 2 mentored)Released "The Power of Becoming: Seven Pillars of Growth and Empowerment"Mentored authors including 15-year-old Tanesa Sadler, whose book held #1 for 9 straight daysBuilt Corlett Publications LLC, specializing in creating bestsellers🎭 Key Insights on Gratitude & Abundance:Gratitude in Crisis: Even in prison, Chancellor found things to be grateful for - his intact mental state, spiritual strength, and the lessons being revealedAbundance Through Service: His greatest success came from helping others tell their stories and achieve their dreamsIdentity Beyond Circumstances: True abundance comes from knowing who you are regardless of external situationsThe Marathon Mindset: Success is a long-distance run, not a sprint - every setback is setup for a comeback🌈 Powerful Quotes & Wisdom:"Adversity introduces a man to himself - you're in the fog of war where the true leader thrives""Nothing lasts forever - this chapter might be done but a new one is beginning""The ancestors were with me for sure - it was like a movie how I remembered everything in full detail""We produce bestsellers here at Corlett Publications LLC"💪 The Nipsey Hussle Philosophy: Chancellor lives by Nipsey's words: "The best teacher in life is your own experience. None of us know who we are until we fail. A person is defined by their reaction to any given situation. Who would you want to define you? Someone else or yourself?"🎯 Perfect For:Anyone facing major life transitions or setbacksPeople struggling to find purpose after losing their identityAthletes transitioning out of sports careersAnyone interested in turning trauma into triumphAspiring authors and entrepreneursThose seeking practical wisdom on resilience and manifestation📞 Connect with Chancellor:Google: "Chancellor K Jackson" for complete access to all platformsBooks: Available on Amazon, including "Fourteen Days in Beijing" and "The Power of Becoming"Services: Author coaching, courses, and publishing support through Corlett Publications LLCSocial Media: All platforms accessible through Google search🔥 Episode Highlights:The moment three Beijing police officers knocked on his doorHow he remembered every detail of his 14-day experience without pen or paperThe friend who created his first book outline in his phone's notes appWhy he'd consider returning to China if the right opportunity aroseHis definition of himself: "A leader, natural born leader, a goat, God amongst men"🌟 The Ban Update: Chancellor's 5-year ban from China ended in 2024, and while he wouldn't go out of his way to return, he's open to opportunities - and would definitely document it for more great content!#️⃣ Hashtags: #ChancellorKJackson #FourteenDaysInBeijing #ThePowerOfBecoming #CorlettPublications #GratitudeAndAbundance #TurningChallengesIntoOpportunities #PrisonToPublishing #AdversityToAbundance #FootballToAuthor #BeijingExperience #AuthorCoaching #BestsellerCreator #ResilienceStory #ManifestationPower #SeasonOfSelfLove #PurposeFromPain #IdentityReinvention #SpiritualStrength🌟 Key Takeaway: "Every setback contains the seeds of your greatest comeback. When you take full accountability for your choices, maintain your mental and spiritual strength, and trust that your experiences are preparing you for your purpose, you can transform any challenge into a platform for abundance and service to others."This episode proves that sometimes our biggest mistakes become our greatest gifts, and that true abundance comes not from avoiding adversity, but from alchemizing it into wisdom, purpose, and service to others.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-season-of-self-love--6003379/support."Thank you for spending this time with me on The Season of Self Love. Breaking Free from Hustle Culture: Cultivating Gratitude & Abundance with Jamie Gant

Join host Nyomi Banks for this transformative Wisdom Wednesday episode featuring purpose-driven coach, speaker, and upcoming author Jamie Gant. From corporate burnout to digital nomad freedom, Jamie's journey demonstrates how breaking free from hustle culture and embracing gratitude can unlock authentic abundance and joy.🎯 What You'll Discover:• Why the "busy equals productive" mindset leads to burnout and unfulfillment • How to shift from task completion to meaningful prioritization• The difference between chasing success and designing an aligned life • Practical gratitude exercises that attract genuine abundance • How to identify your true values versus inherited expectations • Why silence and self-intimacy are essential for authentic living💫 Jamie's Transformation Story: Growing up in an unstable, abusive household with parents struggling with addiction, Jamie decided early on to be "not that." After getting clean, she threw herself into the hustle - business degree, corporate ladder climbing, checking all the "success" boxes. Despite looking perfect on paper with a great job, marriage, and lifestyle in Chicago, she developed severe anxiety and debilitating OCD that left her unable to function.⚡ The Breaking Point: "I had done everything right. I was following the rule book. But underneath all of that, I had severe anxiety and panic attacks so bad I couldn't get out of bed. Everything was falling apart, and I couldn't understand why because I had done all the things I was supposed to do."🌟 The Gratitude Revolution: After quitting her corporate job with no plan, Jamie discovered that gratitude literally saved her life multiple times. In moments of complete surrender and rock bottom experiences, focusing on simple blessings - breathing, tasting food, hearing birds sing - became her pathway back to abundance and authentic success. 🔥 The Hustle Culture Trap: Jamie reveals how hustle culture creates the illusion of productivity through:Task Completion Over Prioritization - Filling to-do lists with busy work instead of meaningful actionReactive vs. Proactive Thinking - Putting out fires instead of building for the futureQuick Wins Addiction - Focusing on what can be checked off today rather than what moves the needle forwardBurnout Cycle - Feeling exhausted and depleted while seeing no real progress💎 The 2020 Message We Missed: Both Nyomi and Jamie reflect on how 2020 was meant to teach us to stay still, but instead of learning presence and gratitude, society hit fast-forward and multiplied the hustle by ten. The pandemic was an invitation to pause, reflect, and reconnect with what truly matters. 🛠️ Practical Gratitude & Abundance Tools: Daily Gratitude Practice:Three Good Things Method (University of Berkeley study) - Write down 3 good things dailyTen Blessings Approach - Start small with simple things like working ears or morning coffeeBuild momentum - Once you start, finding 10 things becomes naturalSelf-Love Notes:Leave sticky note love letters around your houseWrite notes on your coffee maker, mirror, and other daily touchpointsCreate future love letters to yourself and hide them to find laterTreat yourself with the same care you'd give a loved oneValues Alignment Exercise:Identify Your True Values - Not what others say is important, but what feels important to YOUFind Your Top 5 - What are your non-negotiables?Do an Alignment Audit - Where are you honoring your values vs. living others' expectations?Course Correct - Make decisions based on your authentic values🧘‍♀️ The Power of Silence: "We cannot hear what our heart has to say if we're not sitting in silence. Our relationship with silence is just as important as our relationship with ourselves." 🌈 Powerful Quotes & Wisdom:"Gratitude has saved my life more times than I can count""When I'm grateful for what I have, I only get more. It never fails every time""We chase these ideas of success, but if it's not who we are, it can all unravel""The most intimate relationship you'll ever have is the one with yourself""At our core, we are love embodied - we just lose that so easily""Your story is just as valuable and important as long as it's yours"📚 About "Becoming Myself": Jamie's upcoming book explores the "beautiful unfolding of authenticity" that comes from choosing what feels good in your gut versus what you've been told is right. It's about unlearning inherited beliefs and trusting your inner wisdom through gratitude and self-love. 🎭 The Comparison Trap: Social media creates "compare and despair" mentality, making us think everyone else achieved overnight success. Jamie reminds us that what we see is "years and years of figuring stuff out" - use others' success as inspiration to unlock what's inside you, not as a reason to copy their exact path. 🌟 Chicago Connection: Both Nyomi and Jamie are Chicago natives, creating an instant kinship and shared understanding of resilience, authenticity, and the power of community support in transformation. 🎯 Perfect For:Women feeling trapped in hustle culture and burnoutAnyone comparing their life to social media highlightsPeople ready to design life around their authentic valuesThose seeking practical gratitude practices that create real changeAnyone wanting to break free from inherited expectationsPeople ready to fall in love with their actual life, not their "supposed to" life📞 Connect with Jamie:Website: radicallyalivecoaching.comInstagram: @jamiegant.coachUpcoming Book: "Becoming Myself"Services: Purpose-driven coaching for authentic living🔥 Episode Highlights:The moment Jamie realized "doing everything right" wasn't workingHow gratitude practices literally attract unexpected abundanceWhy 2020 was a missed opportunity for collective awakeningThe difference between being busy and being productiveHow to write love notes to your future selfThe magic that happens when you align with your true values🏆 Mini Challenge: For the next 7 days, take a "gratitude snapshot" - notice one moment of abundance (joy, peace, stillness) and journal about it with pen and paper. Building Inner Strength & Resilience: A Healing-First Approach with Trent Carter

Join host Nyomi Banks for this empowering Wisdom Wednesday episode featuring Trent Carter, nurse practitioner, founder of Renew Health, and author of "The Recovery Tool Belt." From small-town Texas to transforming lives through addiction recovery and mental health, Trent's healing-first approach demonstrates how true resilience comes from addressing root causes, not just symptoms.🎯 What You'll Discover:• Why traditional medical approaches often miss the root of healing • How to break free from limiting beliefs that are actually self-imposed • The difference between motivation and discipline in building resilience • Practical tools for rewiring your brain through affirmations and journaling • Why knowledge without action is just potential power • How small daily wins create a compound effect for transformation 💫 Trent's Transformation Story: Growing up in Boyd, Texas, Trent became a registered nurse working in trauma ICU and neurology ICU before becoming a nurse practitioner. During clinical rotations with a family practice doctor treating opioid addiction, he witnessed transformation but recognized massive gaps in traditional treatment approaches. This led him to become board-certified in addiction medicine and found Renew Health in New Mexico.⚡ The Gap in Traditional Medicine: Trent observed that traditional medical approaches often treat symptoms with medication rather than addressing root causes. His healing-first philosophy focuses on giving patients tools rather than just prescriptions, emphasizing that lasting change requires active participation from the person seeking healing.🌟 The Tool Belt Philosophy: "If all you've got is a hammer, then everything's a nail. By having these tools, you can now approach something differently, more effectively, more efficiently, and more safely." Trent's approach gives people multiple tools for recovery and resilience, but emphasizes that it's up to them to use those tools.🔥 Knowledge vs. Action: "Knowledge isn't power - knowledge is potential power. If you've got this new information but don't do anything with it, it didn't do anything. I would argue it's worse because now you have newfound knowledge yet you're not utilizing it."🛠️ Building Inner Resilience - Practical Steps: 1. Awareness First:Recognize when you're in a cycle that isn't serving youAcknowledge that something needs to changeDon't judge the situation - just observe it2. Acquire Knowledge:Tap into free resources online, in your community, or through trusted friendsSeek out information that addresses root causes, not just symptomsFind resources that speak your language and resonate with your experience3. Build Support Systems:Lean on positive support that builds you upAvoid people who criticize destructively or want to keep you downAccept constructive criticism that helps you grow4. Take Action:Move beyond just learning to actually implementingStart with small, manageable stepsStay consistent even when motivation is low💎 The Discipline vs. Motivation Truth: "Discipline trumps motivation. Motivation comes and goes, waxes and wanes. If you can set habits, routines, and stay disciplined, you just got stronger when you push through without motivation. This leads to self-confidence and makes it easier to make right choices when motivation is low."🧘‍♀️ Daily Resilience Practices: Morning Wins Strategy:Start with small wins like making your bedStack 2-3 small accomplishments early in the dayBuild psychological momentum for larger challengesTrack your wins to see progress over timeJournaling for Reflection:Write down thoughts, feelings, and progress regularlyDate entries to track mindset shifts over timeUse reflection to identify what's working and what needs adjustmentTreat it like before/after photos for your mental stateAffirmations & Mindset Work:Practice positive affirmations consistently (not just once a day)Write them down to reinforce the neural pathwaysFocus on changing thought patterns and how you interpret inputRemember: you can think something into existence through consistent practice🌈 The Compound & Ripple Effects: Small daily actions compound over time, creating dramatic changes that seem unrelated to the original effort. When you improve yourself, it ripples into your relationships, parenting, work, and every area of life. Looking back over 12 months, the transformation can seem miraculous.📚 About "The Recovery Tool Belt": Written for people struggling with substance abuse, their loved ones, and clinicians who want better tools. The book provides practical strategies that can be applied globally, emphasizing empowerment and actionable steps rather than just theory.🎭 Powerful Quotes & Wisdom:"The limit we put on our beliefs is self-imposed - you can break through that ceiling""There is no failure if you're learning from it - it's only failure if you don't adapt and grow""You can change your world by changing your mindset and how you interpret input""These little tiny wins build up over time - the compound effect cannot be underwritten""Resilience isn't just about bouncing back - it's about building a life with intention, grace, and deep love for yourself"🌟 The Mindset Shift: Moving from shame-based healing to grace-based healing involves:Changing how you talk to yourselfReframing setbacks as learning opportunitiesBuilding on small wins rather than focusing on failuresUnderstanding that growth requires stepping outside comfort zonesRecognizing that everyone's journey looks different🎯 Perfect For:Anyone struggling with addiction or supporting someone who isPeople wanting to build genuine resilience from the inside outThose tired of surface-level solutions and ready for root-cause healingAnyone ready to move from knowledge to actionPeople seeking practical, evidence-based tools for transformationThose wanting to break through self-imposed limitations📞 Connect with Trent:Personal Website: thetrentcarter.comCompany: renewhealth.com (daily blog with credible, free information)Book: "The Recovery Tool Belt" (available on website)Social Media: @thetrentcarter, @renewhealthnm (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn)Location: New Mexico (serving entire state via telehealth)🔥 Episode Highlights:The gap between traditional medical treatment and true healingWhy discipline beats motivation every time for lasting changeHow small daily wins create psychological momentumThe importance of reflection and tracking progress over timeMoving from shame to grace in the healing processBreaking through self-imposed belief limitations#️⃣ Hashtags: #TrentCarter #RecoveryToolBelt #RenewHealth #EmotionalResilience #HealingFirst #AddictionRecovery #MentalHealthHealing #DisciplineOverMotivation #InnerStrength #GraceBasedHealing #CompoundEffect #SeasonOfSelfLove #BeyondLimits #ToolsNotJustTreatment #ActionOverKnowledge🌟 Key Takeaway: "True resilience comes from addressing root causes with practical tools, consistent discipline, and grace-based healing. Building Emotional Resilience: Embracing Food Freedom & Self-Acceptance with Abby Mallard

Join host Nyomi Banks for this deeply transformative Wisdom Wednesday episode featuring nutritionist, food relationship coach, and yoga teacher Abby Mallard. After her own recovery from disordered eating, Abby now empowers others to embrace food freedom, self-acceptance, and emotional well-being as pathways to building authentic resilience from the inside out.🎯 What You'll Discover: • How disordered eating becomes a coping mechanism for deeper emotional wounds• The connection between food relationships and authentic self-discovery• Why emotional resilience starts with feeling and naming your emotions• Practical daily tools for building emotional strength and body acceptance• How to navigate social media criticism while maintaining authenticity • The powerful link between nutrition and mental/emotional health💫 Abby's Transformation Story: Starting around age 11, Abby felt alone and like she didn't fit in the world. When major family changes occurred, she turned to controlling food as a coping mechanism - developing bulimia, binging, purging, and anorexia that lasted from ages 13-17. What began as seeking control became a cry for help that her family never noticed, until she finally asked her mother for support at 17.⚡ The Healing Journey: With the help of a nutritionist/dietitian who served as both food expert and therapist, Abby began her recovery. Her dietitian's tough love - threatening not to let her move away for college unless she gained weight and "got her shit together" - provided the necessary wake-up call to commit to healing.🌟 The Food-Emotion Connection: Abby reveals how disordered eating consumed 100% of her mental space, leaving no room for processing emotions or discovering her authentic self. When food becomes an obsession, it's not about control - it controls you. Healing her relationship with food created space to:Acknowledge and feel emotions instead of suppressing themBuild a relationship with her authentic selfCreate a peaceful, joyful life beyond food obsession🔥 Defining Emotional Resilience: "Being okay with feeling emotions instead of stuffing everything inside. We're taught not to verbalize or feel 'negative' emotions, but it's important to speak emotion out of your body, identify what you're feeling, and accept yourself through that feeling." 🛠️ Abby's 3-Step Emotion Practice:Name Your Top 3 Emotions using an emotion wheel (Google it!) - go beyond happy/sad/angryAsk Key Questions: What's causing this feeling? What is this emotion telling me I need?Take the Next Small Right Action to move through the feeling with compassion, not to fix or eliminate it💎 The Addiction Reality: Both Nyomi and Abby acknowledge that food addiction is real but often unrecognized. Like any addiction, it provides temporary relief while ultimately controlling your life. Recovery means discovering who you are without external validation or comfort mechanisms. 🎭 Social Media & Authenticity: Abby shares how showing up authentically online "ruffles feathers" and attracts criticism. Her approach:Name the emotion triggered by mean commentsTalk it out with trusted friends/spouse instead of stuffing feelingsStand up for yourself without engaging in back-and-forth argumentsSet boundaries - you don't have to tolerate internet bullies🧘‍♀️ Daily Resilience Tools:Emotional Check-ins - especially on harder daysDeep breathing and stepping away from screensGetting outside for fresh air and perspectiveTalking to friends or journaling to get emotions out of your bodyNourishing your body - 40% of nutrients go directly to your brain!Somatic movement - yoga, shaking, spiraling hips to release stuck emotionsDownward dog heel bounces - like "twerking" but for emotional release🍎 The Nutrition-Emotion Connection: "Forty percent of the nutrients you eat go directly to your brain - that's almost half! This impacts how you think clearly, your mood, and emotions." Focus on:Getting adequate protein and vegetablesStaying hydratedNot aiming for perfection, but consistent nourishment🌈 Powerful Quotes & Wisdom:"When something has that much control over you, you don't have space for emotions or figuring out who you are""We don't have to tolerate bullies - internet bullies are a real thing""I can love everyone and hold compassion, but I don't have to let them have access to my heart""It's exhausting when you have to put a mask on all the time""Resilience lives inside of you - it's not something you earn, it's something you already have"🎯 Mini Challenge for Listeners: Start each morning with this affirmation: "I am worthy of nourishment. I trust myself and my body is not my enemy - it is my home." Before your next meal, take 30 seconds to thank your body, tune into hunger cues, and eat with presence.🌟 The Comparison Trap: Unlike previous generations who compared themselves to immediate peers, today's social media creates endless comparison opportunities. Abby's experience comparing herself to her "tall, skinny" older sister shows how family dynamics can fuel disordered eating patterns.💪 Boundaries vs. Walls: Understanding that boundaries aren't about cutting people off completely, but about maintaining different levels of access while staying authentic. You can approach everyone with kindness while protecting your personal space and energy.🎯 Perfect For:Anyone struggling with disordered eating or food relationshipsPeople learning to build emotional resilienceThose recovering from perfectionism and people-pleasingAnyone navigating social media while maintaining authenticityPeople seeking practical tools for daily emotional wellnessThose ready to discover their authentic self beyond external validation📞 Connect with Abby:Business: Health My FriendInstagram: @healthmyfriendWebsite: healthmyfriend.comPodcast: Health My FriendLocation: Charlotte, North Carolina areaNew offering: Booty (B-U-T-I) Yoga classes with somatic movement🔥 Episode Highlights:Raw honesty about the reality of eating disorders as coping mechanismsThe revelation that food addiction is as real as any other addictionPractical tools for emotional regulation and body acceptanceHow authentic self-expression attracts your people while repelling othersThe connection between physical nourishment and emotional resilienceWhy perfectionism is a daily struggle requiring ongoing compassion#️⃣ Hashtags: #WisdomWednesday #AbbyMallard #HealthMyFriend #FoodFreedom #EmotionalResilience #EatingDisorderRecovery #BodyAcceptance #AuthenticLiving #SomaticMovement #NutritionTherapy #SelfCompassion #BoundariesMatter #SeasonOfSelfLove #HealingJourney #FoodRelationship🌟 Key Takeaway: "Healing your relationship with food creates space to build a relationship with your authentic self. Releasing Emotional Burdens: A Journey to Resilience with Ann Hince

t Join host Nyomi Banks for this profound Wisdom Wednesday episode featuring transformational healer Ann Hince, founder of Sacred Spirit Journeys. Ann's remarkable journey from profound childhood trauma to deep inner healing demonstrates the incredible power of releasing stored emotional burdens and reclaiming peace through body awareness and emotional freedom techniques.🎯 What You'll Discover:• How childhood trauma gets stored physically in our bodies for decades• The revolutionary EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) tapping method for releasing stuck emotions• Why asking "why" can take you out of the present healing moment • How to develop deep body awareness to feel emotions as physical sensations• The connection between emotional release and actual physical growth• Practical tools for becoming "imperturbable" - at peace regardless of external circumstances💫 Ann's Transformation Story: After 20 years of carrying unprocessed grief from finding her mother dead at 19, Ann's healing journey began when two mothers at her children's school triggered a three-day mental spiral. This seemingly small incident revealed the massive emotional burden she'd been carrying from complex childhood PTSD, including being the only girl at a boys' boarding school where she was mercilessly teased.⚡ The Breakthrough Moment: During a routine doctor's visit, Ann rated her stress level as 8/10 despite being a stay-at-home mom with healthy children. When asked why, she realized the tears from finding her mother's body were still "just under the surface." Her holistic physician introduced her to EFT tapping, and in just 15 minutes, she could tell the story of her mother's death without tears.🌟 The Physical Reality of Stored Emotions: Ann's journey revealed that:All negative experiences get stored as physical tension in our bodiesUnprocessed emotions from childhood continue directing our adult livesWe use precious energy keeping suppressed tears and trauma locked insideThe body can actually grow and change when deep tension is released (Ann grew 3/4 inch in her 50s!)🔥 Revolutionary Healing Insights:The Pandora's Box Effect: Once you start releasing trauma, your subconscious opens up and reveals more layers to healBeyond the Big Traumas: Small conditioning from family, teachers, and society also gets stored as tensionThe Progression of Awareness: Healing moves from no body awareness to deep tissue and bone awarenessSound and Physical Sensation: Advanced healing allows you to feel sound vibrations throughout your entire body🛠️ Practical EFT Tapping Method:Identify the emotion or memory that's causing distressTap on 9 specific acupressure points while talking through the experienceGo through the story multiple times - each round reveals new details and emotionsContinue until it becomes "just a story" with no emotional chargeThe tapping does the work for you - you don't need to feel to use it effectively💎 Ann's Unique "Statue Method" for Advanced Healing: When you can feel emotions as physical sensations:Notice a thought with emotion (e.g., "I'm afraid to make this phone call")Find where that emotion lives in your body (fear often sits in the solar plexus)Stop like a statue - no breathing, no movement to maintain focusTalk to the sensation: "I can feel you there. I just want you to relax. It's okay to be felt."Give it attention without trying to change itRepeat until the emotion releases completely🎭 Powerful Quotes & Wisdom:"All those tears we never shed in childhood are still stored inside of us, and we're using energy to keep them in""We don't need to ask 'why' - the sensation is coming up to be felt, and once we release it, the 'why' often pops into our mind anyway""My ultimate goal is to be imperturbable - to stand at peace regardless of what's happening around me""There is so much more depth to life than we're aware of now - once we heal, life becomes fun and we feel physically lighter"🧘‍♀️ The Mindfulness Connection: Ann emphasizes being present with whatever you're feeling rather than trying to analyze it. The moment we ask "why is this happening?" we leave the present moment where actual healing occurs. The sensation itself contains all the information needed for release. 🌈 The Transformation Results: After years of deep healing work, Ann experiences:Physical lightness and actual height increaseEnhanced vocal range due to skull tension releaseAbility to feel sound vibrations throughout her bodyDeep understanding of how life works from the inside outCapacity to watch news and use it as a healing opportunityJoy, laughter, and fun that were previously suppressed🎯 Perfect For:Anyone carrying unprocessed childhood trauma or griefPeople who feel emotionally "stuck" or overwhelmedThose interested in body-based healing approachesAnyone wanting to develop deeper self-awarenessPeople ready to transform emotional burdens into wisdomThose seeking practical tools for emotional resilience📞 Connect with Ann:Website: annhince.com (includes X-rays showing skull bone shifts)YouTube Channel: Ann HinceFacebook: Very active with healing contentOne-on-one coaching sessions available🔥 Episode Highlights:The moment Ann realized her childhood was still affecting her adult reactionsHow 15 minutes of tapping released 20 years of stored griefThe discovery that we can focus awareness inside bones and tissuesWhy going out of your comfort zone accelerates healingThe difference between fixing emotions and feeling themHow suppressed emotions literally weigh us down physically#️⃣ Hashtags: #WisdomWednesday #AnnHince #EmotionalFreedomTechnique #EFTTapping #TraumaHealing #BodyAwareness #EmotionalResilience #SacredSpiritJourneys #HealingJourney #StoredTrauma #MindBodyConnection #TransformationalHealing #SeasonOfSelfLove #RebuildingAfterTrauma #InnerHealing🌟 Key Takeaway: "We store everything negative as tension in our bodies, but we can learn to release it and reclaim the energy we've been using to keep it suppressed. The journey from no awareness to deep body awareness transforms not just how we feel, but how we experience life itself." This episode provides both profound insights and practical tools for anyone ready to release the emotional burdens they've been carrying and step into a lighter, more joyful way of being.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-season-of-self-love--6003379/support."Thank you for spending this time with me on The Season of Self Love.
