    <p>Today I'm joined by Kara Stokes, a mum of 3 children and also a Brand Message Coach and Copywriter who runs her own business in Perth. </p> <p>In this episode Kara shares how she felt a strong desire to fit in at school, only to find a strong feeling of being different and excluded by others. This continued throughout Kara's life until she received a diagnosis of anxiety and then it all began to make sense.     Ep.2 - 12 lessons I’ve shared with my younger self

    <p>In today's episode, I'm sharing a little bit of my personal story and some of the lessons learnt and shared with my younger self, which has given me the freedom to express myself in a way that feels more relaxed, calm, happier and free. </p> <p>Here are the 12 lessons that I share in this episode if you want to come back to revisit them.</p> <ol> <li>Don't be so hard on yourself and instead, look for ways to be more kind and compassionate like you are with other people</li> <li>You don't need to be perfect, or the best to be loved or accepted</li> <li>You don't have to put others' needs ahead of yours to be liked or loved</li> <li>You don't have to nail everything on the first go, making mistakes and failing at stuff is the pathway to success</li> <li>Celebrating your success doesn't mean you're 'up yourself' or 'big noting' it's an important part of recognising your hard work, the journey you've been and all that you're accomplishing, knowing that what you're doing is worthy of celebration</li> <li>It's important to not only celebrate the wins, but to also celebrate the mistakes and failures too, because they're the best lessons and they're the thing that will move you towards what you want</li> <li>Failures don't mean you're a failure or a loser or not good enough, remember this one and take it to heart</li> <li>Nobody is judging you as harshly as you're judging yourself, so quit it and start cheering for yourself like you so easily cheer for others</li> <li>It's ok to change your mind, change direction, and not have it figured out because you can trust yourself to figure it out along the way and the ability to change and pivot highlights another amazing quality that you have</li> <li>Your needs are important and it's important to express your needs and ask for what you want. You don't need to put everyone else first or ask their opinion before making moves. You do you and know that you can trust your inner guidance system.</li> <li>Ask for help and support and then receive it. You're capable AF and so people will always draw off that and think you're coping really well and can handle more than others, even when you're not coping or handling it</li> <li>Sometimes people will let you down but that doesn't mean anything about you. And on that note, adjust your expectations of others as well, because humans mess up all of the time, they're not perfect, they think differently and we are all unique and that's ok.</li> </ol> <p>Thanks for listening.
