    Did You Receive? Pt 1

We are teaching on the Holy Spirit in the coming weeks. Today we're talking about a group of believers who were living for God but were unaware of what they were missing out on. Are you living in God's fullness? Do you have everything that God wants for your life? Could you be more effective in your service to God?

  2. 134

    Why Do I Need...

Why do I need to go beyond attending church once a week? Why do I need to pursue Godly friendships? Why do I need to be corrected and challenged by other Christians? Ultimately we're asking why do we need community/discipleship. ParkHillsAssembly.com

    We've Been Changed

We're preparing to launch a series of sermons about testimony. We're going to have people from our church share their story. We're challenging every believer to share their before-and-after transformation. Who we were before Jesus and who we are now after experiencing Jesus. We've been changed but it's not through a religion, and it's not because we tried harder to do good things. We've been changed because we have experienced Jesus personally and surrendered our lives to him.

    Victim Mentality

What if the only thing standing between you and God’s promise… is the way you see yourself?Israel walked through miracles—plagues, a parted sea, provision in the wilderness—yet still missed what God had for them. Not because God failed… but because their mindset did. They had freedom in their hands but slavery in their thinking. This message dives into the hard truth:👉 You can be delivered but still live like a victim👉 You can stand at the promise and still choose fear👉 You can talk yourself out of what God already gave youBut there’s another option…A Joshua & Caleb kind of faith that says:“We are well able. God is with us. Let’s go.”If you’ve been stuck, discouraged, or feeling like you’re going in circles—this is your wake-up call.Stop seeing yourself as a victim. Start living like a warrior.

The wind and the waves obey... Why don't I?

The wind and waves obey... Why don't I? A lot of believers have went through a time where they doubted their salvation, they doubted whether they could continue to live for Jesus. Most of the time they realize that they had desires in their heart that weren't biblical, or they were isolated and they struggled to maintain their walk with God. What if God doesn't want you to try harder and he doesn't want you to quit. It's a contradiction in our lives especially as we begin a new relationship with God that we love God and appreciate his presence but also have desires that are against scripture. That is a huge contradiction that can cause confusion. We are going to look at scripture to understand what God wants to do and how he actually wants to do it. If the wind and waves obey Jesus, why don't we?

    Tutorial Pt 5 Why?

As we end our tutorial on Christianity, helping people to figure out church we will deal with some questions. Why do we worship the way we do, why do we have church leaders, why do we have an altar call, why do we encourage the spirit of God to move? Join us as we look at scripture and figure out the why?

    Means, Motive, Opportunity

If we are to live a victorious life in Jesus, we will first and foremost need to experience Jesus personally and know his word. We will also need to be aware of how the enemy will attack our faith, our marriage, our family. In this message, we will look at the common methods the enemy will use to attack. We will discuss,* Means - tools he uses to attack us* Motive - his intent or reason for attacking* Opportunity - what opportunity we give the enemyQuestions to consider* What lies or accusations from the enemy have I been believing about myself or my past?* Is there anything in my life the enemy is using to control my behavior through shame or secrecy?* What would change in my life if the enemy lost all his leverage over me today?* Are there areas of my life where I've become comfortable having the enemy take up residence?Verses to read1 John 1:9, Proverbs 28:13, Psalm 32:3–5, Revelation 12:10, Romans 8:1, Romans 8:33–34, Joel 2:25, Luke 19:10, John 10:10, Ephesians 4:27, James 4:7, 2 Corinthians 10:4–5, Matthew 12:29, Luke 10:19, Colossians 2:14–15, 1 Peter 5:8, John 8:44, Ephesians 6:11, Galatians 5:1, 2 Corinthians 5:17, Isaiah 54:17, Hebrews 2:14–15, John 8:36.

The Book Of Mark Pt 8

Join us in Chapter 4 of Mark as we continue to discuss, study the bible together. This is a great resource for seasoned believers and new believers as it helps us read, make observations, ask questions and create some application in our daily lives. This is something every believer should be able to do.

Tutorial Pt 4 Time, Talent, Treasure

What we do with our time, talents, and treasure reveals what truly has our heart. God gave His Son, Jesus gave His life, and discipleship calls us to lay down our lives in return. In this message we’ll explore what it means to steward every area of our lives for God’s kingdom and how generosity, service, and surrender shape us into people who reflect Jesus.Questions to consider about the message:What currently receives the majority of my time, energy, and attention? Are my talents and resources being used primarily for God’s kingdom or my own?Is there an area of my life—time, talent, or treasure—that I’m struggling to fully surrender to God?

    Good God

Good God, Can You Still Get Us Home?God delivered Israel from slavery in glorious fashion — yet even on the way to the Promised Land, they drifted into idolatry, comfort, and rebellion. In Deuteronomy 31, God warned that His people would forsake Him, and He would hide His face.Is the American church repeating the same pattern? After generations of blessing, freedom, and gospel influence, have we grown comfortable… familiar… spiritually dull? As moral fragmentation, division, and cultural decline increase, we have to ask: are we operating without God’s presence while assuming He’s still among us?This message is a call to repentance, awakening, and return. If His presence lifts… if His song leaves our lips… can He still get us home?1. Have I grown comfortable with God’s blessings while drifting from His presence?2. Are there any idols in my life — success, politics, money, comfort, personality, sexuality — that compete with my loyalty to Him?3. Am I assuming God is “with us” without examining whether we are truly walking with Him?4. Has my heart become spiritually dull — hearing truth but not responding in repentance?5. If God is calling His church to return, am I willing to humble myself and be part of that repentance?

  11. 125

The Book Of Mark Pt 7

Join us as we practice studying our bible together. We are reading through the book of Mark using the soap method. Reading SCRIPTURE, making OBSERVATIONS, creating APPLICATION and praying for God to change our lives. We will be focusing on Mark Chapter 3. 1. Am I coming to be transformed — or just informed?Am I open to change, or just listening to be entertained?2. Is there any area where my heart has grown hard?Have I become critical, defensive, or spiritually numb in any way?3. Why am I really following Jesus right now?Is it convenience, crisis, community, or surrender?

  12. 124

    Tutorial pt 3 - Expectations

Tutorial pt 3 - ExpectationsPeople all over the world are deciding to follow Jesus. Many are attending church for the first time in their life. We want to create a tutorial to help you get established in your relationship with God, your relationship with his people (church). It's important that we figure out what God expects from us, what the church expects from us.

    Kill The Cow

Kill The Cow. New wine requires a new wineskin. A new wineskin means you have to kill the cow. In the Old Testament, wine was stored in vessels made from animal skins. Before there could be fresh wine, there had to be a new and prepared (vessels) wineskin. We are the vessels God desires to use. We are the containers meant to receive the new wine of His Spirit. If we are not participating in God's preparation, if we resist him can we truly expect to receive fresh outpouring? In Gospel of Matthew 9:17, Gospel of Mark 2:22, and Gospel of Luke 5:37–38, Jesus Christ teaches that new wine cannot be poured into old wineskins. New wine expands, but old, rigid skins burst under pressure. His message is clear: the grace of God and the outpouring of the Holy Spirit require a renewed, flexible, surrendered vessel. The question becomes: Do we truly want a move of God, or do we simply want things to remain comfortable and familiar?Questions to Ask yourself* What “old wineskins” (man made traditions, mindsets, comforts) might I be holding onto?* Do I enter into church services expecting God to challenge me, change me, prepare me? * If I am never challenged, changed should I expect God to give me fresh experiences with him? * Is my heart flexible enough for God to stretch me?* Am I praying for new wine but resisting the preparation process?* Do I want revival, or do I want routine?* What in my life needs to die so something new can live?

    Tutorial Pt 2 - Church

Believer Pt 2 - A tutorial on ChristianityIn this tutorial we are providing a step by step for people who have decided to commit their lives to Jesus and become dedicated learners. In part one we discussed the need to learn and not just listen, to discuss and not just spectate. In part two we will talk through what it looks like to look for a church, a family of believers to connect with. Cover the do's, the don'ts, things to look for and things to run from. This is a great resource for anyone who is not intimately/consistently connected through relationships with other believers at a local church.

  15. 121

    Tutorial Pt 1 - Becoming a learner

Tutorial Pt 1 - Becoming a LearnerChristianity was meant to be learned, not just talked about, spectated, or something we attend? In the Book of Acts, believers grew through epistles—long-form instructional letters that were read aloud, discussed together, and practiced in real life. These epistles or tutorials were how believers matured in their faith. There is a model found in the book of Acts that helped the gospel reach the world. The instruction was never passive or private; it required listening, training, community, and a willingness to endure discomfort for the sake of what matters most. This message invites us to return to that model—to stop skipping instruction, stop learning alone, and commit to being lifelong learners who practice God’s Word together.Questions to Consider* Am I approaching faith as something to consume, or something to be trained in and practiced?* Who am I learning from—and who am I learning with?* What discomfort might God be asking me to embrace for the sake of growth and eternity?Scripture References (NKJV)Matthew 28:19–20John 6:63Proverbs 1:72 Timothy 3:16Philippians 4:92 Timothy 2:2Acts 2:46–47Ephesians 4:11Luke 14:28–29Philippians 3:8

    Torch Bearers

Torch BearersIn the ancient Greek world, there was a unique kind of race known as the Lampadedromia, a torch relay run in honor of the gods. Runners competed not just to reach the finish line, but to keep the flame burning. Each runner carried the torch only for a portion of the course before passing it on, and if the fire went out, the race was lost—no matter how fast they ran. Victory wasn’t about speed alone. It required endurance, care, faithfulness, cooperation, and focus. The goal was not just to run well, but to protect the flame until it could be handed to the next runner. In this message, we explore Paul’s words in the context of the races and competitions his original audience would have immediately recognized. We will speak to the call of God and the responsibility of the believer to maintain the fire, keep our focus, and develop our endurance.• What flame has God placed in your hands right now?• Are you running fast—or running faithful?• Are you preparing the next runner, or running as if this race ends with you?• Are there compromises you’ve normalized that are slowly draining the fire?• What distractions are pulling your focus away from protecting what God entrusted to you?

    Handmade Pt 2

Handmade Pt 2 - The Uncomfortable ProcessShaping is rarely gentle. In Part Two, we explore how God uses seasons, situations, and correction to form us into what He designed us to be. Sometimes He sets us aside, sometimes He cuts away, sometimes He applies pressure or heat—but none of it is wasted. This message reframes discomfort as divine formation.Questions to ask yourself. 1. Where am I interpreting pressure or delay as rejection instead of recognizing it as God’s shaping process?2. What parts of my life might God be cutting away—not to harm me, but to form me into what He designed me to be?3. In what areas have I allowed my past or my brokenness to define me instead of trusting the Potter’s vision for the finished work?4. Am I resisting the season God has me in, or am I willing to remain in His hands even when the process feels intense?5. What would it look like for me, practically and honestly, to place my life fully back into God’s hands right now?

  18. 118

    Handmade Pt 1

Handmade Pt 1 - Shall The Clay Say To The Potter? You may see broken pieces but God sees the finished work. This message is for anyone who feels hardened, discarded and left in the corner. The Potter isn’t afraid of your past. The potter has been shaping lives long before you came along and he knew the end result before he started. Here's a news flash. God hasn’t changed His mind about you. Take the time and hear God's word for your life, do someone else a favor share this online. Part two available as well.Questions to ask yourself. Family Not A Franchise

Family Not A FranchiseWhat if the reason church feels frustrating… is because we’re treating it like something it was never meant to be?Our culture trains us to expect convenience, comfort, and service on demand—but that mindset doesn’t produce spiritual growth. Scripture shows us something different. The church was never designed to be a restaurant or a franchise. It was meant to be a family. Families develop maturity in us. In this message, we’ll look at how consumer culture has shaped the way we approach church, why discomfort isn’t a sign that something is wrong, and how serving and participation are actually the pathway to maturity. We’ll rediscover the biblical idea of ekklesia—a movement of people called out for a purpose, not spectators observing an event. If you’ve ever wondered why church feels harder than expected—or why growth requires more than just attendance—this message will challenge you to reset your expectations and step fully into the family of God.Church isn’t something you attend. It’s a family you belong to.Questions to consider? When I think about church, do I focus more on what I receive or what I contribute? Do I come to church expecting comfort and convenience, or growth and formation? How much of my view of church has been shaped by culture or past experience rather than Scripture? When church feels uncomfortable or demanding, do I lean in or pull away? Am I currently participating in the church family or mainly observing from a distance? After hearing this message, do I see the church more as a family and a movement than a business or event? In what ways might a consumer mindset be limiting my spiritual growth? What responsibility related to my faith has God already placed in front of me that I’ve been avoiding? If serving is essential to maturity, where is God asking me to step in right now? What would change if I treated the church with the same commitment, patience, and ownership I give to my own family?

    Repairers Of The Breach

We don’t avoid broken places—we rebuild them.God calls His people Repairers of the Breach—those who restore safety, bring healing, and rebuild spiritual walls. This message challenges us to live proactively, protect what matters, and become known as people who bring life wherever we go.

  21. 115

    Just Keep Sowing

Just Keep Sowing! In a world where we’re constantly busy, it’s easy to throw seed without strategy or purpose. This message challenges us to sow intentionally—investing our time, talents, and influence into God’s kingdom. Learn how to cultivate fertile soil in your life, invest for the sake of others, and see God multiply your efforts. Questions to consider before the message Do I understand the time/season that we’re in spiritually? Am I sowing with intention, or just staying busy? Do I have a strategy or purpose for how I invest my time, money, and influence? Am I neglecting opportunities God has already placed before me? What kind of soil am I creating in my own life—am I ready to bear fruit? How can I consistently invest my time, gifts, and influence into God’s kingdom this week? Am I focused on investing for the future or only for immediate results? How can I sow in a way that blesses others, not just myself? What steps can I take to make my life’s soil fertile so that what I sow will multiply?

  22. 114

    Connection Interrupted

Connection Interrupted. Do you know the warning signs of a weakened relationship with Jesus? We need to recognize the traits that indicate someone is struggling to stay connected: neglecting prayer, distancing oneself from God’s Word, isolation from fellow believers, and a waning concern for the lost. While shepherds within the church and community matter, ultimate responsibility for our walk with Christ rests with each believer. This message calls us to recognize spiritual drift, repent, and return—because God still chooses to use those who choose to stay connected.

  23. 113

    I Just Need A Cup

We all have that one favorite cup—the one we reach for without thinking. What if God looks for people the same way? In this message, we’ll explore what makes someone a “go-to vessel” in God’s hands: available, clean, willing, and ready to be filled and poured out.Are you the kind of cup God can reach for? Are you too full, cracked, or distracted to be useful? How do we become His go-to cup — ready whenever He needs you?Verses to read/pray about2 Timothy 2:20-21 Clean, available, reliable cups can become set apart for his use,2 Corinthians 4:7 the power, the value belongs to God and not the vessel,Acts 9:15 What makes us a chosen instrument/vessel/container?Jeremiah 18:1-6 God forms the vessel even in with all of it's flaws, 1 Kings 4:3 He just needs a vesselQuestions to ask yourself1. If God reached for a “cup” right now, would I be available—or too busy, distracted, or full to be used?2. Are there areas in my life that need to be “cleaned out” so I can be a vessel of honor rather than a vessel God has to set aside?3. Do I have a desire to be used of God? If not what does that mean? 4. Where might I be leaking—losing what God pours in—because of compromise, lack of focus, or wounded places He wants to heal?5. What would it look like for me to become God’s “favorite cup”—the vessel He can always reach for with confidence and joy?

    I Identify As...

We are seeing the effects of an identity crisis in America. The breakdown of the family in our nation has created generations of people who don't know who they are. Instead of receiving our identity from our Creator, we find ourselves receiving a different identity. For many people, their identity is all about their sexuality, all about possessions, politics, pain and trauma, appearance, addictions, or even a sense of victimhood. We start attaching labels to ourselves that God never intended, and we begin living out of the wounds of our past instead of the truth of His Word. When identity is built on anything other than Christ, it becomes fragile—shifting with emotions, circumstances, and cultural pressures. But when our identity is rooted in who God says we are, it becomes solid, secure, and life-giving. God’s desire is not that we define ourselves by what has happened to us, but by what He has done for us.

  25. 111

    Captivated

Are you captivated?Today we use that word to describe something attractive, charming, or exciting—but in Scripture, it means something very different. In the Bible, captivated means to be held captive… taken alive. In this message, “Are You Captivated?”, we uncover one of the enemy’s most subtle but destructive strategies against believers: the snare of offense. Scripture shows that Satan sets traps the same way a fowler did in the ancient world—hidden, camouflaged, baited, and triggered the moment we step into them.Using 2 Timothy 2:23–26 and Psalm 91, we explore how offense looks small but captures big—stealing our joy, clouding our focus, and holding our hearts hostage. Like a bird caught in a hidden noose, we can be alive yet not free, stuck replaying wounds, limping spiritually, and unable to move forward in God’s purpose. But the good news is this: the snare can break. Through repentance, humility, and forgiveness, Jesus frees us from what we could never free ourselves from. This message will help you identify the bait, recognize the trap, and step into the freedom God designed for you.

    Judgment - Bema

Did you know Scripture teaches of two separate future judgments? Most have heard about God’s judgment over sin, but few people know about a second judgment—one reserved specifically for Christians. It’s called The Bema Judgment.Last week, we looked at what the Bible says about the Great White Throne Judgment—the final judgment for unbelievers who refused Jesus. They will face Christ in condemnation and sentencing. But this week, we turn to a judgment many believers rarely hear about. The Bema Judgment, it is the moment Christians will stand before Jesus. It is not a courtroom of punishment but a platform of evaluation. The believer’s judgment is not about heaven or hell. It is the place where rewards are given, motives are revealed, and faithfulness is measured.“For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ…” (2 Cor. 5:10 NKJV)Many Christians assume, “I’m saved—what else is there?” Yet Scripture teaches that a day is coming when Jesus will evaluate your works, your motives, your sacrifices, and what you truly lived for. This is a message that every Christian needs to hear.

  27. 109

    Judgment - Krisis

The Bible teaches that every person will one day stand before God, but not all in the same judgment. The bible uses two different words for judgment. One applies to believers, the other unbelievers. The Great White Throne judgment is for those who reject God’s plan of salvation, Jesus. The Bema judgment, is where believers are evaluated for how they lived. These aren’t abstract ideas—they’re real moments every human being will face. The question is simple: when that day comes, which judgment will you stand in?

    Mark Pt 6

Join us as we read through, study the bible together. Asking questions, making observations, learning to study our bibles. In Mark 2:13 - 28 Jesus calls unlikely people, transforms broken lives, and shows that following Him is about relationship—not religious ritual. In Mark 2:13–28, He eats with sinners, brings new wine that can’t fit into old mindsets, and reveals Himself as the Lord who gives true rest. This message explores how Jesus invites us into grace, renewal, and a fresh way of walking with God.

  29. 107

    Control Freaks Anonymous

Control Freaks AnonymousMany of us struggle with trying to control our lives, relationships, and even our spiritual growth, but true peace comes from humbly submitting to God. Pride and the illusion of control lead to stress, anxiety, and frustration, while choosing to yield daily unlocks God’s best. This message explores how letting God take the throne transforms our thoughts, decisions, relationships, and spiritual life.

The Ultimate Survival Guide Pt 3

The Ultimate Survival Guide Pt 3. We have to learn to communicate with God. In Part 3 of our survival guide, we focus on the importance of every believer learning to communicate with God. Just as clear communication is vital in an emergency, we must learn to hear from God before a crisis comes. This means growing in prayer—both speaking and listening—and relying on Scripture to discern between emotions and truth, so that we can be a beacon of light in a darkened world. Knowing the word without personal experience creates Pharisees,Experiencing God without the word produces heresies.Chapter 1….Why we need a survival guideChapter 2….Learning to sense the presence of GodChapter 3….Learn to communicate with GodChapter 4….Learning to practice obedience

  31. 105

Survival Guide Pt 2. Knowing God's presence

We have to learn to sense and respond to God's presence. We often think we don’t need a survival guide, but spiritually we do. Now is the time to prepare, we can't afford to wait for a crisis. In part one we talked about a few reasons that we might need a survival guide. American Christians need to wake up to the growing economic instability, the normalcy of evil (culture is calling evil good, good evil) and the effects of Islam in America through mass migration. Like a frog in slowly boiling water, many Christians don’t realize how bad it's going to get. We've been lulled asleep. In part 2 of this survival guide, we will talk about the need for believers to be able to sense the presence of God and respond. Christianity isn’t just head knowledge—it’s personally experiencing God in a way that changes us from who we used to be. A true disciple follows closely, expecting God to show up, and obeying when He convicts or leads. Like Israel with the cloud and fire, we must learn to sense his presence, follow him and fully rely on His presence.

Survival Guide Pt 1. Always Be Prepared

The Ultimate Survival Guide - Chapter 1Why you need a survival guide? We don’t think we need a survival guide—until crisis hits.America has shifted over the last 20 years. From the breakdown of the family structure to economic instability and a culture that calls evil good, the signs are all around us, signs of dramatic change in America. We don't know that's next in our culture but we do know that God is trying to speak to his church. Part one in this series, why you need a survival guide. What we need to wake up, why we need be prepared.1 Peter 7:4 The end and culmination of all things is near. Therefore, be sound-minded and self-controlled for the purpose of prayer [staying balanced and focused on the things of God so that your communication will be clear, reasonable, specific and pleasing to Him.Chapters in the survival GuideChapter 1….Why you need a survival guideChapter 2….Learning to sense the presence of GodChapter 3….Learn to communicate with GodChapter 4….Learning to practice obedience

    Coping Mechanisms

The definition of coping is "to deal effectively with something difficult." Sadly, what we see in our society is the unhealthy attempts to deal with the difficulties we experience in life. In John 6:66, Jesus asked his disciples if they were going to turn away from the truth, and Peter said... "To whom do we turn?" In this message, we will ask ourselves a similar question. To whom do you turn, to what do you turn to when life becomes difficult? Screen time, addiction, overeating, isolation, people pleasing, self-harm, anger, overspending, and avoidance are just some of the unhealthy mechanisms that we can turn to when life get's hard. What do you run to, instead of God's presence? What do you turn to instead of God's word? God has called us to thrive, not survive, and Christians can't afford to rely on unhealthy coping mechanisms.

    What If?

God never has to ask “What if?” — He already knows every decision, every missed opportunity, and every victory waiting to happen. But for us… the question remains: What if?What if prayer was a part of our identity and not just our emergency plan? What if building Christian relationships were our culture instead of a class? What if sharing our faith came naturally from our personal experience of Jesus? What if generosity were a way of life, instead of a sermon series? What if every believer discovered their gifts/talents and committed to finding their purpose? What if we loved/served our neighbors so well that they ask us about our faith? This Sunday, we’re going to give God our Yes and stop living a life of What If? Together, let’s watch God turn our “What if?” into “Look what God can do!”

    Wake Up The Bride

Wake Up The BrideCan you imagine riding in the car with someone who's going 60 miles per hour down the highway but they are asleep? You woudn't worry about being polite as you shake them and try to wake them up. In fact you may go to great lengths to make them uncomfortable. It's safe to say the average church attender in America is asleep. In this message we will look at how God began in 2020 to shake America more and more. We will look at how God has used evil nations to provoke, punish his people in the old testament. We will hear how God is making American Christians more and more uncomfortable in an effort to wake us up. We have a short time left to do the work of God and we can't afford to sleep. We will examine the Sleeping Bridegroom parable, as well as the historical Jewish wedding ceremony, to understand how God is coming back suddenly for those who are prepared. Will he find us sleeping, or will he find us working? Will there be a witness of God's glory for this generation to experience before time runs out? - Jeremy Jones

    18 Summers

18 Summers"75% of the time you spend with your kids in your lifetime will be spent by the time they are 12." Are you being intentional, planning quality time with them? Are you leading them to Jesus, practicing your faith with them? Are you surrounding your kids with Godly trusted mentors from outside of your family circle? Are you putting them around God's presence and his people at church consistently?Raising children can be overwhelming, and it can feel like it's never-ending. What begins as diapers and bottles quickly turns into driving and choosing a career. Many times we don't realize that our time is limited, it's only 18 Summers. Parents can be overwhelmed from balancing work and parenting. Churches many times struggle to provide the care and attention in it's ministries that children need. The truth is that we have 18 summers to influence the next generation. We must recognize parents as the primary disciplers of their children and the church must do what it can to partner with parents in this mission. On Sunday, we will minister on the subject of 18 Summers. Some of the topics will include, Giving our full attention, Planning and praying for the long haul, Refusing to let failure paralyze us, Choosing to slow down, prioritizing quality time together. Family Matters Pt 3

We hope you'll take some time and listen/watch the messages in this series. In part one we talked about what the church is and what it is not. Discussing that the church is a called out group, chosen for a purpose. The church is not a monument to be observed but a movement. In part two we talked about the purpose of the family, whether that is our household or the family of God. Looking at scripture we see that family and the church was designed to mature you, develop you and challenge you. This goes counter to our culture and our consumer mindset where we look for anything and everything to be easy, comfortable and convenient. How do we know when someone is mature? It's when they are found to be responsible. Asking ourselves, "are we responsible for our own faith (prayer, bible study, etc) or are we coming to church expecting them to do our Christianity for us?In part 3 we will begin to look at scripture and understand the traits of a family. Loyalty, unity, correction, provocation, honesty and love. These are just some of the traits that you'll see in a healthy family. How do we see them developed in our house? How do we see them developed in our church?

    Family Matters Pt 2

Family Matters Pt 2In Part one of our Family Matters series we compared how everyone can potentially view the church as a family or a business. Do you come to church expecting someone to do your Christianity for you? Is the sermon the only bible you year? Is the worship the only time in your week that you praise God? Does spectating describe your Christian experience? The word used for church in the new testament had nothing to do with buildings or religion. Church - Ekklesia meant a group of people who were called out for a purpose. Are you living the called out life? Are you part of the movement or are you observing monuments? This week we look at the purpose of a family. Since the church is referred to as a family in scripture we need to ask ourselves what is the purpose of family. Whether that's the family of God or your personal family, the purpose of family is to mature you, develop you, challenge you.

    Heavenly Design pt 3

Heavenly Design pt 3What does the Jewish Temple tell us about our Christian faith? Is it possible that by understanding the old testament we can have a better understanding of everything that Jesus accomplished for us? Join us in part three of our series as we talk about the Holy Place. The place of God's presence.

  49. 87

    Heavenly Design pt 2

Heavenly DesignWhat does the ancient jewish temple have to do with our Christian faith? As we look at scripture we realize that the plans for the temple were given by God and they were very specific. There was a design and many believe that the earthly temple mirrors a heavenly temple. In our previous message we talked about the outer court and the Laver where you had to cleanse and examine yourself. This message we leave behind the outer court and take a journey towards the Holy place. We will discuss the brazen altar, the Holy place and how it applies to our daily relationship with Jesus.

  50. 86

    Heavenly Design

What does God's design for the Old Testament Jewish Temple have to do with our Christian Faith? Why should a modern day Christian care about the temple's Holy of Holies, or the Brazen altar? For many believers they know what they are expected to believe when attending church but most don't understand why they believe what they believe. Why do you believe that Jesus's death on the cross cleanses you of your sin? We can look at the old Testament where Adam and Eve sinned against God. We see that God had to cover their shame with a sacrifice of an animal. We see that in the old testament jewish temple before anyone could move closer to God they had to sacrifice an animal and put it on the altar for their sins. Today in the new covenant, the new testament we can trust Jesus as our sacrifice and receive forgiveness. Join us in this study of God's word as we look our faith and it's heavenly design.
