In this episode, I am joined by Allison Sky. She shares a deeply emotional journey that begins in childhood. Years of unexplained symptoms. Struggles no child should ever face. And a life that never quite made sense medically. Everything escalated after a traumatic accident. Her symptoms intensified. And for the first time, the pieces began to connect, leading to a Lyme disease diagnosis. Allison opens up about the impact of misdiagnosis. The emotional toll it takes and how it affected her identity and her lifelong dream of becoming a singer-songwriter. She also shares her connection to Lymestop. A major turning point in her healing journey. She has now worked for Lymestop for the past 7 years. From both perspectives, she explains why this approach became such an important part of her recovery and why it continues to mean so much to her today. In this conversation, Allison gives an inside look at Lymestop. How treatment is structured. What a typical appointment looks like. The general process patients go through and insight into cost and care from her lived experience within the clinic. Today, Allison is stepping fully back into her passion. Her brand new EP, Behind the Smile, has officially launched. Her music is rooted in real-life heartbreak, hope and healing. A powerful reflection of resilience, and rediscovering her voice after everything she has walked through. This is a story of trauma. Diagnosis. EP 104: Misdiagnosed with ALS - Angelo's Journey From Hopeless Diagnosis to Lyme Disease Discovery
Today, Katrina joins me to share her husband Angelo's story. Angelo was given multiple ALS diagnoses. He was told he had a progressive and hopeless condition. Despite those answers, Katrina and Angelo refused to stop searching. They pursued further testing and continued looking for explanations. Angelo was also tested for Lyme Disease multiple times and each time the results came back negative. Still, they kept advocating for deeper answers as his symptoms progressed. Eventually, they were led to the true diagnosis of Lyme disease. This experience is not uncommon. Many individuals diagnosed with ALS are later found to have Lyme disease or co-infections that were not detected in earlier testing. In this episode, Katrina shares their journey through repeated ALS diagnoses, the emotional impact of those results and what it has been like navigating life after finally finding answers. They are still in the midst of their healing journey today, and Katrina speaks about the importance of awareness, persistence and continuing to ask questions when answers do not fully align. She has also started a Facebook page "Standup4lyme" to help raise awareness about ALS misdiagnosis and to share information and support for families navigating similiar situations. EP 102: From PANDAS to Lyme to Purpose: Erin's Healing Journey with SOT & Faith
Today I sit down with Erin, who was diagnosed with PANDAS at the age of 15 but that was only the beginning. As the years went on, her symptoms evolved, new challenges surfaced and it became clear that there was a much bigger picture that had yet to be uncovered. Erin and her parents continued searching for answers. They pursued care through an integrative clinic and invested in numerous treatments, hoping for relief but nothing truly moved the needle. After exhausting both options and finances, they were faced with a difficult crossroads. That's when they discovered SOT (Supportive Oligonucleotide Therapy). After undergoing three SOT treatments, Erin slowly began to feel things shift. Within about a year, everything shifted and she reclaimed her life. Through her journey, Erin found a deeper purpose. In this episode, I sit down with Missy Wolf to share her eye-opening journey with Alpha-Gal Syndrome (AGS). Due to the rarity and complexity of her case, the CDC became directly involved, conducting monthly check-ins to help gather data and better understand this emerging condition. We talk about what AGS really is. It is a reaction to a sugar molecule found in mammalian products, and it goes far beyond just avoiding red meat. From hidden exposures to unexpected triggers, Missy shares the realities of navigating a condition that can show up in ways most people would never imagine. This conversation brings awareness, insight and hope to anyone dealing with chronic illness, mysterious symptoms or a new diagnosis. Nicole Refused To Accept MS: A Mother's Journey Through Lyme, Trauma and Healing
In this episode, I'm joined by my guest Nicole, an avid horseback rider who spent years exposed to ticks without fully understanding the impact they could have on the body.
