My first real job was as an inventory control analyst at Active Ride Shop in california, but after the 2008 f inancial crisis forced the company into bankruptcy, I turned to music. LaCinda was born in Seattle, WA, John was born in Provo, UT. Both had loving and supportive parents and great siblings. They met in high school when LaCinda was a sophomore and John was a junior. Though scared of girls, John mustered the courage to ask LaCinda on their first date to his Junior Prom. Though studious, John was known for his creative dating experiences, his passion for basketball and food, and for leading the school as the student body Vice President. LaCinda loved to learn but she also spent her afternoons either riding her horse, Sadie, in ballet class, or sewing. They both attended Brigham Young University. After John served a two-year church mission in Japan, and LaCinda traveled with the BYU International Folk Dancers and spent 6 months in Europe, they married. During their last year of school, they lived in Washington DC while John worked for a U.S. Senator while awaiting the birth of their first child. Upon completion of college, they accepted employment in Houston, TX. John worked for the accounting firm Ernst & Whinney (now Ernst & Young) in their consulting group. Identical twins joined their family. After three years of loving Texas and Texans, they were transferred to Phoenix in 1985 and fell in love with Gilbert and their great schools and church community and their 10,000 residents. During their forty years, Gilbert has been the greatest place to raise their family of eight including an adopted son from Mozambique. They were also privileged to have a foster son and two Chinese exchange students as part of their family. LaCinda has been involved with church callings and global and local nonprofit work. With a BS degree from BYU and an MS degree from ASU, LaCinda fulfilled a lifelong goal to earn her doctoral degree from NAU in Educational Leadership for Community College and Higher Education in 2023. For several years, she also loved teaching Tailoring, Pattern Design, and alterations at Mesa Community College. LaCinda's favorite titles are mom and grandma Hunee. John and LaCinda's family continue to grow with six of their eight children married and their 27th grandchild due soon. Their faith and their family are everything! John continued his employment and performed community volunteer service as a faith group leader. He helped start the Gilbert Constitution Fair. In 2009, he was elected Mayor of Gilbert and served until 2016. Economic development for Gilbert was his top priority. Paul was born in San Francisco and raised in San Jose, California. At 18, he joined the Air Force, where he specialized in aviation structural maintenance. His journey began at Castle Air Force Base in Merced, working on B-52s and KC-135s. He later transferred to Williams Air Force Base in Arizona, maintaining T-37 and T-38 aircraft—a role that led him to meet his future wife, Nancy. After they married, they moved to Bitburg, Germany, where Paul worked at an F-15 base. He completed his Air Force service at McChord Air Force Base, supporting the C-17 program. Today, he is the proud father of three amazing children and five grandchildren, with a sixth on the way. He currently serves as Government Sales Manager at Able Aerospace Services. Originally from Arizona, Nancy grew up in Chandler and married Paul at age 20. Their journey took them to Germany for six years with the U.S. Air Force, followed by a move to Tacoma, Washington. Finally they made our way back to Arizona after Paul's retirement. By 29, they had welcomed three children—their first in Mesa, the second in Germany, and their youngest in Washington. Nancy earned a Master's in Education from the University of Washington and spent 17 years teaching first grade and special needs preschool.  Today, she balances dual careers as a real estate agent and a flight attendant with American Airlines. Paul McHale, MD, is a board-certified Emergency Medicine Physician with over 20 years of experience. Kathy Tilque served as President/CEO of the Gilbert Chamber of Commerce from 1996 to 2020, capping a 32-year career in the industry. Following her retirement, she was elected to the Gilbert Town Council in 2020, serving as Vice Mayor in 2023 before retiring in 2025 to lead the Gilbert Advocacy Center Foundation, which supports victims of violent crimes. Trisha Kelly was the Warehouse Department Head at Parker and Sons, one of America's largest home services companies of its kind, for 10+ years.  She also oversaw the fleet of 600+ vehicles, building security and maintenance, office purchasing, uniforms, renovations, company parties/functions, team member awards and acknowledgements, and many other functions.
