Why I Quit Ageing Gracefully (And What I Do Instead)

"Aging Gracefully" is exhausting. And fighting your age is a war you'll always lose. There's a third way — and it starts with telling yourself the truth. In this podcast, I share my journey of rejecting the idea of "ageing gracefully," which often implies being invisible and silencing opinions to fit into societal expectations. It's a candid look into the psychology behind these social norms and how they can lead to an inauthentic and exhausting life. I discuss the importance of authenticity and emotional honesty for personal growth and self-awareness, rather than conforming to external pressures. In this podcast:- The hidden cost of "ageing gracefully" — and why it's not actually grace- The other trap: why fighting your age keeps you stuck- What happened to me at 66 (and what it finally taught me)- What ageing honestly actually looks like as a daily practice with three shifts that change everything🖊️🌷 I write a bi-weekly letter called Ageing Honestly — no fluff, no forced positivity, no anti-ageing nonsense. Strong, Capable Women Need Help Sometimes | Why That Is Not a Weakness?

What happens when a strong, capable woman admits she needs help?At 67, I teach fitness classes, rebuilt my body after serious disc injuries, and run a business. Yet recently, I needed help getting up off the floor and financial help from my daughter for a medical procedure.  And I forgot to pack my undies for a mini-break with my daughter. Why does everyone think that if you're strong, you don't need help?"In this podcast, I break down the myth that independence means doing everything alone. Being strong doesn’t eliminate real challenges — especially with ageing, health costs, and past financial decisions. Asking for help isn’t a weakness. It’s honesty. It’s courage. It’s human. You can be strong and need support. It's about building whole strength: body, mind, heart, and soul working together.
