    Nix the Blame Game

When something goes wrong in your life, it's easy to fix blame, either on yourself or on others. While you may be right, how helpful is the blame game? Usually, it just stirs up hard feelings. On this podcast, I encourage you to nix the blame game. Go away from awareness of your performance. Try becoming meta-aware. That is, look around the circumstances to understand context and perspective on what just happened. The blame game is a common pattern that mentalligent psychotherapy (MPT) addresses in my new book, The Healing Journey: Overcoming Adversity on the Path to the Good Life. From Stuckness to Soaring

Being stuck in life is no fun. Ho hum. What's new? Or worse, more trouble. Why do I keep doing that? When you realize that you are stuck in a life that's going nowhere, begin your healing journey by starting therapy. Your therapist will be your guide on your healing journey, help you get there, and share tools and life skills that will keep you soaring. Part of Hayley and Jamie's healing journey in couples therapy is included in my new book, The Healing Journey: Overcoming Adversity on the Path to the Good Life. Buy your copy at amazonbooks.com. What Kind of Parent Are You?

There are all kinds of parents. What kind are you? Are you a dictator? Overbearing? Pushover? Whatever? Or are you an absent parent? All of these types of parents diminish the relationship, even though they may be well-intended. When you make an effort to balance your needs, wants and feelings with those of your children, you are offering a meaningful relationship to them.
