In our journey through the DCOMs, we have been no stranger to having a good time up in space. Now, however, it is time for space to come to us! That’s right, we are reviewing the exceedingly weird and confusingly made Can of Worms. A film about desperately calling in some aliens because you think you are one, but then totally not meaning it. There’s a lot to unpack here, from some really impressively designed puppets to the truly baffling ways this film decided to tell this story. Luckily, for the first time in a while, we have a guest DCOMmentator coming along with us to help dig into all this alien mess! Error! Error! Error! Sorry gang, been dealing with a near-catastrophic computer issue on my end. Which is somewhat fitting given that How To Build A Better Boy is all about treading carefully when it comes to technology. Okay, it’s actually more about kissing technology, but…then again, it’s also really about friendship? Sigh. Look, this movie has a few different contrasting ideas going on inside of it, but it is actually pretty fun! Except for the ending which nearly manages to ruin the whole thing. All right, all right, all right! It’s anniversary time again! We…okay yes, we know. Sorry, we screwed up a little bit and did this movie a month earlier than we should have. At least we figured it out after we recorded it. But, I mean, can you blame us? This is the one and only Zenon Kar we’re talking about! Capping off the Zenon trilogy is something we’ve been so excited to do for years, I guess we just couldn’t help ourselves. Which makes it a bit sad this movie is such a mixed bag. After an unfortunate business trip-related delay, the DCOMedy crew is here and super ready to bark at ya about the lesser-known DCOM Hounded. A lot of this movie really doesn’t work on paper, but somehow it manages to come together and actually be somewhat enjoyable? Wow can you believe we actually made it to 100 regular episodes (and that we still managed to put it out late)?! Well if Cloud 9 has taught us anything, it’s that nothing’s impossible…and also to not believe all the men in your life who don’t believe in you. I know that sounds like I’m extrapolating excess meaning from a children’s movie but no, that’s literally a big part of this story. You see, we are finally here to discuss the Kim Possible 2019 reboot/remake DCOM and it has sucked any positive emotions from us entirely. I will slightly spoil the end of this one for you, this is unanimously the worst film we have ever reviewed on the show. Sorry this one needed a couple extra days in the lab, but here is the final mix all about Spin! We may have been skeptical about this DCOM being able to land with us, but we ended up having a great time. Although the title is really misleading actually. Also, they didn’t even shoot it in Hawaii, and the real estate plot makes no sense when applied to a thirteen-year-old. So, uh, yeah. Hello, Hello, Hello, Hello, Hello! In many ways, this episode is quite different from what I’m sure anyone could have expected. Not only is it not about the movie we originally announced for this month, but we found ourselves doing a far more in-depth analysis of a movie’s emotion and themes than we usually do for a DCOM. To our credit, however, this is seemingly simple story about a bunch of babies changing peoples lives has more to it than you would think. It’s about things like art, family, and passion…but definitely still has plenty of jokes about babies pooping and peeing a lot so don’t worry yourself. Lucas doesn’t understand babies and gets possessed. Emma changes her mind about meatloaf and hates unreliable narration. Austin dives deep into the each layer the film hides.
