Is it possible that you get sick or get into emergencies on a subconscious level to get attention and support from some people in your life? I recorded this episode in my car with my handheld Zoom recorder. I wanted to get a message out to you to stay strong during this crazy "social distancing" pandemic time.  It's scary. It's uncertain. Yes. But it can also be a time of deeper soul searching. It can be a time where you do some things you have been putting off. How will you spend your time during this time? After Derrick died, my life was altered dramatically. All of the things I loved and thought made me "safe", went away. If you're trying to create a life of meaning, you need to be able to cut things out of your schedule when you need to. Be sure to "check in" with yourself to notice when your support system (aka: your Jenga tower) shifts. Shifts will happen. And if your entire Jenga tower falls down, you'll be okay. You will rebuild. I know because that's what happened to me.   One of the things that really helped me heal during the worst of my trauma and grief was watching videos on YouTube: ASMR, sound bath, distant Reiki healing, and meditation videos. You probably got totally reconnected to your dream during the holiday break. If you had time off of work, you were finally able to think your own thoughts and reconnect with what you REALLY want to do with your life. As you head back to work, don't forget your WHY. Capture this passion now before the minutia of life dulls it out! So when you start to stray from your "why", you will have tools to bring yourself back to the cold, hard, inescapable reality... Let's look back and pick up the jewels of hard-earned wisdom from the previous year and maybe, just maybe, identify a fatal flaw in us that stops us from either manifesting our dream or enjoying what we manifest.  Is your fatal flaw the reason you haven't manifested your dream? "A 'fatal flaw' is a flaw which causes an otherwise noble or exceptional character to bring about their own downfall and, often, their eventual death."

At the end of the year, it's natural to look back at how the year went for us, check in with how we feel about the year, and look ahead to the next year. Do you feel depressed because you just realized you didn't accomplish anything on your 2019 goal list? If you do not change, you will not achieve your goal. The traits in you that got you to where you are right now will not be the same traits that will help you get to the next level. You MUST change. Are you holding on to the past? Are you sabotaging your dream and not even realizing it? What do you NOT want to do? Go TOWARDS the fear and discomfort. Your dream lives in the center of that fear. 

The reality of living your dream will be very different than the dream that was in your mind. But that's not a bad thing. The reality of the dream can be BETTER than the dreamed dream! Instead of getting discouraged when reality kicks your butt, go back to the "dream blueprint" and see what you can tweak so that your dream is more in alignment with what makes you come alive as it lives outside of your head.   I HAVE DREAMS DAMMIT! The realization of your dream won't make you happy.  Well, it will, for a day, week, or month.  But it won't last forever.  So you must prepare your mind for how you will feel when you reach your goals. Friends & Family who support our dreams are like healthy soil.  They encourage us, they support us, they are happy for us. They ask us how it's going. They support our posts on social media. They are genuinely happy for us because we are happy and that's what friendship should be all about. But what if they don't support us? What if we always have this weird feeling when we spend time with them? What if they NEVER ask us about our dream? What if they NEVER like any of our posts on social media about our dream but like our other posts? (Passive-aggressive much?) In today's show, I talk about all of the ways the people in our lives either show us support or how they let us know that they don't support us. We need supportive people on this journey. When is the first time you remember knowing you wanted to do the thing you want to do? Let's talk about the "Call To Adventure" Waking up from a dream that rocked your world, and changed the course of your life's path... The death of someone close to you... A medical diagnosis... A nagging feeling... Getting fired from a job.... These are all things that can service as a CALL for us to go deeper in life, to get onto a path of Meaning.  Joseph Campbell called this stage in the journey, Call To Adventure. Let's talk about what your call was, if you listed to it, or if you pushed it away and ignored the call.

If you don't listen to yourself all along the path for when you need a break, you will be headed for a burnout. I know because it happened to me.  I now listen to myself when I need a break.  It usually manifests as fatigue, body aches, and mental confusion/cloudiness.  I'm in the middle of one of these phases right now but I didn't want to not talk to you this week so I just talked to you about what I'm experiencing!  I hope you get something from today's show.  Thanks for listening.   I HAVE DREAMS DAMMIT! No matter what it looks like or feels like, nothing is the same as long as we are alive.  It may feel like Groundhog Day but we can change our circumstances at any moment, even if it's just a thought, actually, it all has to start with the thought. We can view the obstacles we come up against on our Hero's Journey towards the manifestation of our dreams just like a seed that is banged around on rocks in the river.  The banging around is necessary for the seed to lose its tough outer shell in order to germinate. This process with seeds is called "scarification".  Another method of seed scarification is fire. The Sequoia tree requires fire to release the seeds from its cones and the opening of the canopy that the fire creates also helps the seedlings grow. For some of us, the bad things that happen to us in life are the things that had to happen to break us open to our deeper purpose.   "Scarification in botany involves weakening, opening, or otherwise altering the coat of a seed to encourage germination.  Scarification is often done mechanically, thermally, and chemically.
