What Is The Latest Technology in Breast Cancer Detection with CEO and Chemist Elizabeth Cormier-May

Have you or a female friend recently gone through a mammogram as part of yearly testing? Did you or your friend feel discomfort or have complaints about the process?   For this week’s episode of the Weekend Wellness Hour Show, we interviewed CEO and chemist Elizabeth Cormier-May about mammograms and the importance of testing for breast cancer.  Elizabeth shared with us her novel approach that is now being tested through pilot studies that allows for easy detection of cancer markers.   Elizabeth began her career as a medicinal chemist focusing on ways to discover cancer in its early stages.  She decided to change into diagnostics to have a greater impact in women’s lives.    We first discussed some of the issues with mammograms that are a barrier to them being performed on a regular basis for women aged 40 year and older.  We explored the issue of false positives and the difficulty of detection for those with dense breast tissue.    We also touched on the lack of accessibility to mammograms for those in more rural areas and how that led Elizabeth to search for other ways to provide a screening test.  She began working with Mammogen, a female-led biotechnology company that uses the proprietary genTRU™ liquid biopsy platform.    Elizabeth explained the premise of liquid biopsy and went into the technology that allows for the detection cancer markers in saliva and blood.  She discussed how cancer leads to changes in our RNA so their technology detects those biomarker changes that are in our body fluids.   This process allows for women all over the world who have little access to healthcare clinics to be able to receive a test kit in the mail and do a saliva swab to determine if she has cancer markers that warrant a mammogram or further testing.  It helps remove the barriers to testing like discomfort from a mammogram or poor detection due to dense breast tissue.   Mammogen is currently doing pilot studies in various areas around the United States to provide more solid data to back up their initial highly successful results.  Part of their work is to make this affordable and accessible to all, even those who are younger with a history of breast cancer in the family.   Elizabeth has been in the biotechnology industry for nearly 20 years.  As well as leading Mammogen, Liz is also the CCO of IV Bioholdings; a bio innovation studio that conceives, creates and develops first-in-category RNA bio platforms which radically improve the detection, diagnosis and treatment of disease. Currently, she is Chairman of the Board, Co-Founder, President and CEO of her digital health start-up, Persona Health, Inc. and CEO and Board Director of Mammogen, Inc.   Please join us to learn this amazing technology to help you and women in your life detect breast cancer.   Please feel free to reach out to Elizabeth Cormier-May at https://www.mammogen.bio/.   -Dr. Amy Novotny   Subscribe to PABR Institute's email list for free Tips for Relief: https://pabrinstitute.activehosted.com/f/1   www.pabrinstitute.com

What is the Quantum Medicine and Why is it Important For Our Mental Health with Dr. Cristine Price

When you aren’t feeling well, do you ever consider that there may be different types of medical solutions for your illness? When it comes to your mental health, have you considered a spiritual or quantum type of solution?   We discussed quantum medicine in this week’s episode of the Weekend Wellness Hour Show with Dr. Cristine Price. Dr. Price has a Master’s degree in psychology but received her doctorate in natural medicine when she realized that there were additional solutions for mental health disorders.   Dr. Price shared with us her background with her own addictions to drugs and mental health struggles. As she worked on solutions for her own illness, she discovered new career pathways that allowed her to approach mental illness from a healing perspective instead of just treatment.   We discussed what Dr. Price calls the 4 bodies and the 4 medicines. We went through the wellness diamond and each part of it including the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual.   Dr. Price explains that for each of the four bodies, there is the corresponding same type of medicine. She expressed her concerns that we often don’t use the correct medicine type for the ailment which leads to problems persisting longer than they should.   We went through examples of people needing both physical medicine and energy work to clear out an emotional problem tied to a body pain. She also explained the need for quantum medicine in the form of spiritual meditation or frequency drops that tap into spiritual healing.   Dr. Price mentioned this approach can help with depression and anxiety as well as personality disorders. She encouraged those seeking help form a healthcare provider to explore all four types of medicines for solutions.   Cristine trains quantum practitioners in a holistic approach to healing, addressing the spirit, mind, and body. She is the author of 4 Bodies: 4 Medicines along with other publications.  Her modalities, including Quantum Wholeness Meditation and The Complete EFT Method, have been accredited internationally.     In 2020 Cristine felt called to the mission of raising consciousness through meditation practice. She established www.AMillionAtOne.com as a home for a million meditators. The current intention of her group meditations is to raise the frequency of mental health.   Please join us to learn how quantum medicine can help your mental health.   Please feel free to reach out to Dr. Cristine Price at CristinePrice.com (no h in Cristine) or join her meditation groups at www.AMillionAtOne.com   -Dr. Amy Novotny   Subscribe to PABR Institute's email list for free Tips for Relief: https://pabrinstitute.activehosted.com/f/1   www.pabrinstitute.com

Andre works with single people to help them discover more about themselves and how they are showing up in their relationships.   Andre explained to us why he doesn’t believe men and women are equal in relationships.  He shared how each gender has its own role in a relationship and how a person’s energy can affect the attraction and affection.    We discussed what "the masculine" and "the feminine" means for a person and how each person, regardless of gender, has aspects of these types of energy.  Andre gave examples of how women might need to be in their masculine energy during the day at work but need to switch to the feminine when she leaves work to spend time with her partner.   We also touched on the need for men to have masculine energy but allow a woman to bring some feminine energy into his world so he softens and can have some care and compassion.  Andre explained how culture often guides us away from having these two forms of energy in a relationship and encourage women to stay in the masculine at all times.   Andre started his adult career as a professional dancer, dancing with legends including Michael Jackson, Prince, Paula Abdul, Julio Eglesias to name a few.  He became a business owner before finding his passion in relationship coaching and launching Project Equinox Coaching to help men and women learn to build stronger long lasting and healthy Love relationships. How Do Tiny Habits Improve Your Health with Coach and Entrepreneur Tony Winyard

Do you realize that your life is made up of habits?  They dictate how you behave, how you feel, and even how you think.   We discussed habit development and formation for this week’s Episode of the Weekend Wellness Hour Show with habits coach and entrepreneur Tony Winyard.  Tony is a Tiny Habits certified coach who owns a business working with individuals who want to change their health habits.    Tony started his adulthood as a DJ traveling around the world playing for clubs and events.  He changed his focus as a result of some changes in his personal and family life and started studying health, mindset and habit formation.    We discussed what is meant by “tiny” habits and why it’s important to make small changes to achieve a new habit.  Tony explained that this idea came from the work of BJ Fogg, a behavior scientist, who wrote the book, Tiny Habits, the Small Changes that Change Everything.   We also touched on the idea that habits don’t need to be practiced for a certain amount of time before they can be classified as a habit.  He noted that many researchers now don’t believe that you must perform something for 21 or 90 days before it becomes a habit.    Tony shared that there needs to be motivation to start a new habit, but it doesn’t always have to be at a high amount if you have the skills to perform the habit easily.  If you don’t have the skills; however, then motivation needs to be higher.   We spoke about the important of health habits, especially those related to sleep and breathing.  He stressed the importance of getting outside right after you wake to improve your sleep habits and reset your circadian rhythm.    Tony offers workshops to help people change their health habits to feel and move better.    Please join us to learn how you can begin to change your health habits bit by bit!!   Please feel free to reach out to Tony Winyard at https://tonywinyard.com/.      -Dr. Amy Novotny   Subscribe to PABR Institute's email list for free Tips for Relief: https://pabrinstitute.activehosted.com/f/1   www.pabrinstitute.com

How Can You Use Open Focus to Improve the Way You Pay Attention with Author Susan Shor Fehmi

Do you get easily distracted when working and switch your focus to something else on the wall or on your desk? Do you want to improve the way you pay attention?   For this week’s episode of the Weekend Wellness Hour Show, we discussed Open Focus™ with Susan Shor Fehmi, the wife of the late Les Fehmi who developed this methodology. Susan is a psychotherapist who began studying with Les to improve her own attentional skills decades ago.   Susan explained Open Focus™ and how it helps people change the way they pay attention. She explained how her late husband discovered the concept when he finally “let go” of “trying” so hard.   We discussed the different brain wave states and how performing open focus shifts us from a beta state to alpha state. This improves our ability to focus in a relaxed state.   We also touched on narrow focus and why it’s needed for parts of our life but only for short periods of time. Susan related it to the sympathetic nervous system and being in fight or flight mode.   Susan shared how the open focus attentional style helps people reduce pain and improve relationships with others. She explained the importance of recognizing space in ourselves and our surroundings as a way to achieve open focus.   Susan co-authored the book "The Open-Focus Life" with her late husband Les Fehmi to bring awareness to the practice of Open Focus™ to improve attentional skills.  She is currently the Director of the Princeton Biofeedback Centre, LLC in Princeton, N.J. where she combines the teaching of Open Focus™ training with multi-channel, phase synchrony neurofeedback.    Please join us to learn how you can change your attentional skills to improve your health, relationships and focus.   Please feel free to visit www.openfocus.com or reach out to Susan at [email protected].   -Dr. Amy Novotny   Subscribe to PABR Institute's email list for free Tips for Relief: https://pabrinstitute.activehosted.com/f/1   www.pabrinstitute.com

Have you thought about how your daily habits affect your kidneys?  Do you know you can change the health of your kidneys simply by drinking enough water?   We discussed holistic care of the kidneys with nephrologist Dr. Tatiana Thom.  Dr. Thom began in internal medicine but further specialized in kidneys and high blood pressure.  She considers the kidneys to be “the smartest organ in the body.”   Dr. Thom explained the basic functions of the kidneys and why they are so important to how we feel.  She stressed the importance of these organs in filtering out toxins from our blood.    She noted that our kidneys filter our blood 100 times per day so we need to make sure we are hydrated enough for this process to occur.  We discussed daily minimum recommendations for drinking water while being stationary vs when we are active.    We touched on the benefit of lemon water as well as how diet can influence kidney function. Dr. Thom explained the pH balance of the body being 7.38 and the need to eat fruits and veggies to support kidney health since animal products have an acidity that challenges kidney function.   Dr. Thom also shared on the influence of exercise on kidney function and why it’s important to perform some movement 5 days per week.  Her goals in healthcare are to encourage prevention of disease.   Dr. Thom has been practicing medicine for 17 years after graduating from Universidade de São Paulo, Brazil, followed by an internal medicine residency at University of Connecticut, and nephrology and hypertension specializations at the Mayo Clinic.  Her main interest is in the prevention of disease, promotion of well being, stopping kidney disease progression and prevention of kidney stones.    Please join us to learn how you can change daily habits to improve the health of your kidneys.   Please feel free to  reach out to Dr. Thom on Instagram at https://www.instagram.com/dratatianathom/.     -Dr. Amy Novotny   Subscribe to PABR Institute's email list for free Tips for Relief: https://pabrinstitute.activehosted.com/f/1   www.pabrinstitute.com

What Happens to Your Body When You Travel by Plane with Dr. Patti Milligan

Did you know that all types of travel are disruptive to your body?  Have you experienced fatigue after flying and wondered why?    This past weekend for the Weekend Wellness Hour Show, we discussed what happens to our body when we travel on airplanes, trains and vehicles with Dr. Patti Milligan.  Dr. Milligan has been in the field of natural medicine for more than 35 years as a functional medicine nutritionist and is fascinated with the impact of travel on the body’s changing nutritional needs.   We first discussed how flying on a plane dehydrates the body and impacts our saliva. She mentioned that the circulating air lacks moisture in addition to the tendency to restrict liquids in attempt to avoid using the restroom.    Dr. Milligan also expressed the negative impact of flying on our nervous system in that it puts us in fight or flight mode in many ways.  One way she mentioned is through the jet engine noise vibrations that affect our bodies on the cellular level.   We also explored the idea of travel fatigue which shows up in the days after traveling.  She cited some researchers who study the body’s response to travel whether it’s a short flight, long flight or traveling east-to-west or west-to-east.    Dr. Milligan provided some solutions to minimize the fatigue and improve body resilience during travel.  She suggested several foods that can be consumed to improve saliva production.    We looked at the differences between flights vs train travel vs road trips.  Each mode of transportation is jarring to the body and recovery is needed.    Dr. Milligan founded the company Jet Renewal Kit and shared with us how she helps clients support their body when traveling.   Please join us to learn how you can minimize some of the negative effects of travel on your body!!   Please feel free to visit https://www.jetrenewalkit.com/ or reach out to Dr. Milligan at [email protected].    -Dr. Amy Novotny   Subscribe to PABR Institute's email list for free Tips for Relief: https://pabrinstitute.activehosted.com/f/1   www.pabrinstitute.com

Have you ever thought about your beliefs and how they guide your actions?  Have you questioned your beliefs or tried to change them?   We discussed the process of examining beliefs on this week’s episode of the Weekend Wellness Hour Show with entrepreneur and holistic coach Katie McIntyre.  Katie went through an intensive 3-year program to become certified as a core belief engineering practitioner to help people re-engineer limitations obstructing the coherence between heart and mind.    Katie explained what core belief engineering is and how it can help those who feel a disconnect between their conscious mind and their subconscious.  She walked us through the process of helping a client who wants to discover where their beliefs came from.    She stressed the importance of starting off the process with an agreement with yourself that this is a transformation done by choice.  We then went through some of the discovery and questioning that she performs with her clients to help them uncover the origin of their beliefs.    Katie shared that the process can take 4-6 hours and once the story of someone’s belief systems has unfolded, then they compare it to the person’s current life to see what matches up and what doesn’t.  She also explained the importance of creating a meditation using the clients own words to help them transform.    Katie also has a background in Sports Medicine, Strength and Conditioning, Integral Breathwork, and Bodywork.  She uses her knowledge in these other fields to meet her clients’ needs as they go through this core belief transformation.   Please join us to learn how to have your conscious mind and subconscious mind work together in a healthy way.   Please feel free to reach out to Katie McIntyre at https://www.katiemacwellness.com/.   -Dr. Amy Novotny   Subscribe to PABR Institute's email list for free Tips for Relief: https://pabrinstitute.activehosted.com/f/1   www.pabrinstitute.com

Brain Health After Concussion: TBI Recovery, Neuroplasticity, and Whole-Body Healing

In this episode of Reawaken Your Health, I interview Mandi Dickey, a board-certified nurse practitioner with over 25 years of experience in neurology. Mandi shares how her career and life changed after a car accident caused a traumatic brain injury, shifting her from brain health provider to patient.   Mandi opens up about the often-missed symptoms of concussion and TBI, including persistent headaches, balance and vision issues, exercise intolerance, autonomic instability, and cognitive fatigue. Her story highlights how easily brain injuries can go undiagnosed, even within traditional medical settings.   After standard treatments offered limited relief, Mandi explored innovative therapies such as red light (photobiomodulation) therapy, transcranial laser treatment, and neurofeedback. These approaches supported cellular energy production, brain regulation, and gradual functional improvement. She emphasizes the value of a multi-modal approach that includes advanced therapies, hydration, nutrition, and adequate protein intake.   Beyond injury recovery, Mandi shares foundational principles for lifelong brain wellness. These include stress management, quality sleep, regular exercise, whole-food nutrition, and keeping the brain active mentally, socially, and physically.   She also discusses the strong connection between emotional and physical trauma, noting how mental health and neurology often overlap. Integrated care, she explains, is frequently necessary for lasting recovery and resilience.   Mandi closes by sharing her book, Welcome Back: A TBI Recovery Story from Provider to Patient, along with her ongoing podcast, presentations, and advocacy work. Her message is clear: protect your brain, care for it intentionally, and don’t take its function for granted—because healing is possible, but it takes time.   Please join us to learn more about brain health following concussion!   Please feel free to reach out to Mandi at [email protected] or check out her website: https://brainwellnesssolutions.com/   -Dr. Amy Novotny   Subscribe to PABR Institute's email list for free Tips for Relief: www.pabrinstitute.com

Dana has been practicing psychotherapy for over 14 years and stresses the importance of setting boundaries for mental health.   Dana shared with us a common theme in her patients: they have a lack of boundaries when it comes to their relationships and interactions with others. Dana gave examples of what this looks like, especially in people who tend to please others without consideration of themselves.   We discussed why people pleasing is detrimental to both people involved. Dana touched on the fear that prevents people from stating their true desire because they are afraid of making someone else upset.   We went through some solutions on how to improve our boundaries and why that can help our mental health. In this week’s episode of the Reawaken Your Health Podcast, Greg—known worldwide as “The Hydrogen Man”—shares his extraordinary journey into the world of molecular hydrogen therapy and how it became a life-changing mission born from personal necessity, deep research, and a profound desire to help others heal.   Greg explains how molecular hydrogen (H₂) works as a selective antioxidant that may reduce oxidative stress and inflammation. He describes its potential to support conditions like hypertension, arthritis, liver issues, autoimmune disorders, and chronic lung problems.   He stresses that purity is essential, warning that many tablets and low-cost hydrogen generators can introduce harmful byproducts. Greg highlights why medical-grade systems from Japan, especially the Lourdes Hydrofix, produce cleaner and more reliable hydrogen.   As the conversation continues, Greg shares remarkable case studies, including improvements in advanced macular degeneration and neurological recovery in a patient with TBI and a brain tumor. These stories underscore the emotional and physical impact he has witnessed firsthand. Greg breaks down different hydrogen production methods, explaining why the dual-chamber system used in the Hydrofix is the gold standard. He also shares the origin of the device, created by a Japanese father determined to help his daughter with ALS.   To learn more, Greg directs listeners to his YouTube channel Uprising144K, where he shares research, demonstrations, and case studies. He welcomes serious inquiries but emphasizes that hydrogen therapy requires patience, consistency, and high-purity tools for true results.   Please join us to learn more about hydrogen water and its health benefits!   Please feel free to reach out to Darryl at [email protected] or check out his YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/@UPRISING144K     -Dr. Amy Novotny   Subscribe to PABR Institute's email list for free Tips for Relief: www.pabrinstitute.com

How to Heal From Trauma and Rewire Your Soul with CBT, NLP and EFT Practitioner, Kirstin Carey

Have you wanted to change your life and your emotions but can't seem to find the right solution to help you? What it you need a multi-faceted approach to rewiring your emotions and soul?   We explored this concept in this week’s episode of the Weekend Wellness Hour Show with Kirstin Carey, a Certified Holistic Nutritionist, Professional Chef, and Cognitive Behavior Therapy Practitioner based in Arizona.  Kirstin realized early on that there is not one methodology that solves everyone's problems.   Kirstin dove into what she calls a positive trauma when she was a little girl and had an interaction with her father that led her to suppress her emotions.  She described how it took time and work on her part to be comfortable with expressing emotions so she could have more meaningful relationships.   We went into the various modalities and methodologies that Kirstin now uses to help others rewire an event in their lives.  She finds that a blend of techniques is what most people need.   We discussed frequency healing and how she uses energy to help people change their frequency to elevate them from a lower state.  This, along with cognitive behavioral therapy, helps her clients change patterns and habits that don't serve them and affect their brain neurochemistry.   Kirstin also described Emotional Freedom Technique, or tapping, as a tool for her clients to help them become unstuck.  She also explained the benefits of RIM, Regenerating Images in Memory, as another tool for helping someone transform experiences.       We touched on the importance of choosing our words in this type of mental health work so that the language we use matches the healing that takes place.  Kirstin went into the basics of NeuroLinguistic Programming as a tool for changing words that we use.    Kirstin founded Nourish 123 and is also a Neuro Linguistic Programming Practitioner, Certified EFT and TFT Tapping Practitioner and Biofield Healing Practitioner.   Please join us to learn more about how to rewire your emotions and soul!   Please feel free to reach out to Kirstin Carey at https://www.nourish123.com/   -Dr. Amy Novotny   Subscribe to PABR Institute's email list for free Tips for Relief: https://pabrinstitute.activehosted.com/f/1   www.pabrinstitute.com

What Are The Basics of Human Design with Human Design Specialist and Founder of HEAL, Katie Carlson

Have you ever wondered if you’re genetically predisposed to show up a certain way in this life? Have you wanted to get more in tune with the pieces that make you up energetically?   We dove into these topics in this week’s episode of the Weekend Wellness Hour Show with a discussion of Human Design with specialist and Founder of HEAL (High Energy Abundant Living), Katie Carlson.  Katie has been studying Human Design for several years and now teaches courses on the interpretation of the Human Design chart.    Katie explained what Human Design is and why it's a great tool to helping people understand themselves, how they behave and how they react to life's events and interactions.  She touched on how it has helped her in life and has allowed her to live her purpose.   We went into the basics of the 5 main types: generators, manifestors, manifesting generator, projectors and reflectors.  Katie described the aura of each of these types to give us an idea of how each shows up and influences energy in a room or environment.   We then explored the inner authority of each of these types.  She explained how we have a body part that we turn to and trust when we make decisions in our life.  For instance, with generators, our inner authority is our sacral area so we check in with our gut when making important decisions.   Katie also mentioned that we want to live according to our strategy and authority so we can experience our signature.  Each type has a unique strategy to handle situations.  Generators, for example, tend to respond where as manifestors inform.    We then discussed how the signature is what each type is looking to enjoy in various aspects of life.  For generators it's satisfaction.  For projectors, it's success.   Katie then walked us through an example of a chart with various shapes over the human body based on birth date, birth time and birth location.  She interpreted the chart to give more details on personality and interactions with others.    She recommended that everyone get their free chart here: https://www.jovianarchive.com/Get_Your_Chart.    Katie is also a High Energy Expert and High Performance Coach, Masculine and Feminine Expert, Speaker, Breath-Work Instructor, and Podcast host. Katie brings a unique perspective on how to leverage your own energy to HEAL physically, emotionally, intellectually, and spiritually. By leveraging non-traditional modalities, Katie takes people on a journey of transformation from the inside out. Building Trust in an Uncertain World | Dr. Darryl Stickel on Leadership, Parenting & Connection

In this week’s episode of the Reawaken Your Health Podcast, Dr. Darryl Stickel, founder of Trust Unlimited and author of Building Trust: Exceptional Leadership in an Uncertain World, shares his remarkable journey from small-town Canada to becoming one of the world’s foremost experts on trust.   After enduring a severe concussion and vision loss as a teen, Darryl’s challenges inspired him to study human connection and vulnerability. His government work with First Nations communities led him to a key question — how do we rebuild trust where it’s been broken? That question became the focus of his Ph.D. at Duke University and the foundation of his life’s work.   Darryl defines trust as the willingness to make yourself vulnerable when you can’t fully predict another person’s behavior. Trust depends on balancing uncertainty and vulnerability, and it grows when we reduce uncertainty through benevolence, integrity, ability, and context. He reminds us that most people overestimate their own trustworthiness, focusing more on competence than genuine care. Real trust, he says, is co-created through empathy, consistency, and compassion.   In the second half of the conversation, Darryl shares how integrity and trust show up in daily life, especially in parenting and leadership. He explains how trust deepens when we make promises based on effort instead of outcomes, lead with empathy, and create psychological safety.   Through personal stories about raising his sons, Darryl illustrates how trust grows when children feel understood and valued rather than controlled. He and Amy explore how these same principles apply to resolving conflict, leading teams, and personal growth.   Darryl also discusses his podcast The Imperfect Café, his book Building Trust: Exceptional Leadership in an Uncertain World, and his mission through Trust Unlimited to help people—especially young men—build stronger, more authentic relationships.   Please join us to learn more about trust and connection!   Please feel free to reach out to Darryl at https://www.linkedin.com/in/darryl-stickel-phd/ or https://www.trustunlimited.com/.   -Dr. Amy Novotny   Subscribe to PABR Institute's email list for free Tips for Relief: www.pabrinstitute.com   P.S. How Does Ketamine Help Those Suffering From Severe Depression with Psychotherapist Leah Benson

Have you ever experienced depression that was so extreme that no treatment seemed to help?  Do you feel stuck with no sense of hope?   For this week’s episode of the Weekend Wellness Hour show, we discussed the role of a psychedelic medication, ketamine, in helping those with treatment-resistant depression with psychotherapist, Leah Benson.  She began exploring this form of treatment in 2018 when she had clients who began asking questions about it.    Leah has been practicing psychotherapy in Florida since 2001 but started working with ketamine over the past couple years.  We discussed how ketamine has historically been used as an anesthetic in the military, but the benefits of it for mental health are becoming more apparent.   Leah stressed the safety of this drug and how it is the only legal psychedelic medication available to help those with severe forms of depression.  We discussed the benefit of ketamine in its role to form new connections in the brain to allow patients to view their past or their trauma in a new light.    She also noted that it’s a bit easier on the body in terms of responses to the medication and side effects, and the sessions are typically of shorter duration, ranging from 30 minutes to 20 hours, depending on the method of intake.  She advised that anyone using this medication take 24 hours to recover and avoid using heavy machinery, including driving.   We also discussed her role as a therapist while someone undergoes this treatment.  She stressed the importance of therapy in the 24-48 hours after taking ketamine to guide a person to form new brain connections to lift him or her out of the depression.    She also explained that this form of treatment, similar to all others, is dependent on the individual with some only needing 1-2 sessions but others needing more.  She described a typical dosage as being 6 treatments spaced out 1-2 times per week, but studies are currently looking at the benefit of 12 doses.    Leah has a private practice in Florida and is also a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC), a Certified Bioenergetic Therapist (CBT), a Certified Adoption Competent Counselor, a Licensed practitioner of neuro-linguistic programming (NLP), and a Certified Forensic Mental Health Evaluator (CFMHE).  She helps those suffering from depression, anxiety, panic, anger problems, personality issues that interfere with relationships or work, identity issues, addiction and eating disorders, among others.   Please join us to learn about ketamine and it’s role in your mental health!   Please feel free to reach out to therapist Leah Benson at https://leahbensontherapy.com/.   -Dr. Amy Novotny   Subscribe to PABR Institute's email list for free Tips for Relief: https://pabrinstitute.activehosted.com/f/1   www.pabrinstitute.com

In fact, she mentioned that 80% of the conditions could be avoided through lifestyle improvements.    We also discussed the importance of diet and nutrition for our heart health.  She explained the most important factors when it comes to what you put in your body.   Dr. Ducombs gave more tips regarding sleep, stress, cholesterol and exercise and what to consider for each of these topics in regards to the heart.  She admitted that most changes must come from a person's desire to change and while the changes are simple, they are hard to implement.   Dr. Ducombs is a practicing Cardiologist, Assistant Chief Medical Officer of her local community hospital and previously Chairman of the Network Operations Council for it’s multi-specialty Physician Group.  She also serves as the Women in Cardiology Section Chair and past Secretary-Treasurer for the Louisiana Chapter of the American College of Cardiology.  Some of her most rewarding accolades include being named Physician of the Year by her colleagues in 2010 and being chosen as one of ten 2019 “Women in Medicine” honorees by the New Orleans contingent of the American Heart Association and FestiGals.   Please join us to learn about how to make simple lifestyle changes to improve your heart health!   Please feel free to reach out to Dr. Jherie Ducombs at https://www.linkedin.com/in/jherie-ducombs/.   -Dr. Amy Novotny   Subscribe to PABR Institute's email list for free Tips for Relief: https://pabrinstitute.activehosted.com/f/1   www.pabrinstitute.com

What Can Hypnotherapy Do For You with Therapist Anne Fernandez

Have you ever wondered what hypnosis is all about? Does it really work? How does it help people?   We discussed hypnotherapy this past Saturday on the Weekend Wellness Hour Show with expert Anne Fernandez.  Anne has been a clinical hypnotherapist for over 20 years and works with clientele both in person and virtually.   We began by discussing process of hypnotherapy and what it does to the body and brain. Anne shares how hypnotherapy can get past the filters we have in our conscious brain to access the subconscious.   We discussed what happens in a hypnotherapy session and how Anne provides suggestions in a safe way to encourage clients to think differently or to rewrite stories that the subconscious holds onto. We touched on some fears that people might have undergoing the sessions, and Anne firmly explained that the client is always in control.   She described the typical experience of coming out of a trance and the need for a few minutes of processing the experience. We also went through some of the self care that she recommends after a hypnotherapy session and how a person progresses along in his or her spiritual and health journey.    We also touched on who might benefit from this treatment modality and why a person would choose hypnotherapy.  If you have habits that you would like to change, this might be worth exploring.   Anne has been in the healing world for over 40 years as a clinical hypnotherapist, meditation guide, and a master reiki intuitive healer.  She is also a speaker as well as a retreat facilitator.   Please join us to learn about how hypnotherapy could improve your habits and your health!   Please feel free to reach out to Anne Fernandez at https://risingawareness.com/.   -Dr. Amy Novotny   Subscribe to PABR Institute's email list for free Tips for Relief: https://pabrinstitute.activehosted.com/f/1   www.pabrinstitute.com
