EP 54: The pillars of "the good life"
In what ways am I living my version of “the good life” today? 💫In my latest episode, I revisit the very concept that inspired this podcast and take stock of how I got to where I’m at currently, in the hopes that it may be helpful for you too. On my journey, I identified the following pillars for living a “good life”: 👉 physical/physiological (food, lifestyle) 👉 nervous system/emotional 👉 mental 👉 social/community 👉 spiritualThese pillars have allowed me to make big changes in my life to align with what’s most important to me, including, a calmer lifestyle close to nature, doing work that gives me tremendous meaning and joy, and building a local network of kindred spirits. At the end of the day, the biggest determining factor for the quality of my life has been the quality of my relationship to myself. With more self-awareness and healing have come a more thorough self-acceptance than ever before. Embracing myself with all my "weird quirks” has allowed me to start attracting my tribe to me! PS. If any of this resonates for you, and you feel called to create your own version of the good life, please reach out for a chat. EP 53: The end of our home-schooling adventure
Hey friends, back at ya after a long hiatus! I'm going a little freestyle in today's episode: I fill you in on what's been up in my world in the past few months, where my head has been, as well as talk about a big change for our family, the boys having started school this month after five years of home-schooling. The truth of it is, what I want for my children has not actually changed that much. I still would love for them to be free in body and mind, understand how to take good care of themselves, have the courage to ask questions without fear of being different and develop a love of nature and strong sense of community. But as they’ve gotten older and our family structure has also changed, as well as some other factors that I go into in the episode, it was becoming clear that they could benefit from being part of a welcoming community on a regular basis. Tune in to hear about what went into our decision, my thoughts on the idea of "sacrifice" and the question of how to strike that delicate balance between respecting your kids' autonomy versus knowing when it's time to push them a little out of their comfort zone. 💕Episode mentioned: EP 2: Our decision to live slowly ——————————————Suis-moi sur Instagram @theomnivorist Par ici pour booker ta séance exploratoire gratuite : https://theomnivorist.as.me/discoverycall

EP 52: Se délester du poids du passé
(( For once, in French! EP 51: My journey with feminism (Part 2)
I’m finally back at you with part 2 of my thoughts on modern feminism — and I explain my (very good) reasons for why it took so long!If you haven’t yet heard Part 1, I would definitely recommend starting there first. In today's episode I get into the more specific ways in which I've observed modern feminist ideas influence my own life choices as well as those of other women around me. My approach as always is pragmatic: does this way of thinking about the world make us happier or does it sometimes create difficulty in our daily lives? As I mentioned last time, I have a hard time agreeing with the idea that the sheer existence of differences between the sexes is problematic, or that masculinity is by definition wrong. In an oppressive system, nobody comes out unscathed. Many men have lots of healing to do, just like many women. And I would even say, the fact that many of them are jerks is not because they are men… but because they AREN’T. In a culture that does not promote emotional responsibility, many of them stay in boy energy. I think it's high time that we removed the stigma around masculinity, accepting that its healthy incarnation is just as beautiful, divine and indispensable as the feminine principle. And for men to step up to the plate, they need to offer their unique gifts, and not become "just like our girlfriends". I believe this is something we all feel intuitively but the world in which we live makes it very hard to access that intuition. I would love to see us do away with the infighting and work TOGETHER towards a more beautiful world. And that just might start by developing curiosity and empathy for the men in our lives, as well as doing our own personal work and setting rock-solid personal boundaries in place. PS. If you are ready to uplevel your relationship with yourself, and therefore elevate all your other relationships, make sure contact me to set up your free discovery call. 🌟Episodes to check out: Confessions of a big nerd (or how all this came to be)What babies taught me about being human——————————————Suis-moi sur Instagram @theomnivorist Par ici pour booker ta séance exploratoire gratuite : https://theomnivorist.as.me/discoverycall

EP 50: My journey with feminism (Part 1)
Today I’m coming at you with a topic which I’ve had a relationship with for a long time: modern feminism. As a mom to boys and a woman who loves men, this is a topic that is particularly dear to my heart. And of course everything I have to say is strictly about my own personal experience and observations. I do NOT claim monopoly to "the truth"! Also, since I have a lot to say, this one will be a 2-parter. As you know, I have a bit of a beef with our modern civilization and its oppressive ways — so of course our patriarchal ways are no exception. We live in a world where the subjugation of women and the denigration of feminine values have been pretty much institutionalized. So it has of course been extremely important to reveal and reverse the ways in which this has been happening on a systemic level, in the form of the feminist movements of the past and present, going all the way back to the suffragist movements of the 19th century. Even the fact that I’m here talking to you in this way today means that so many women (and men) have fought for my ability and freedom to do so. That being said, what I've been noticing in our present day is that it's also been a bit of a mixed bag, and there have also been lots of unintended consequences to the ideas imparted by modern feminism — such as the idea that the very existence of differences between the sexes is problematic or that putting more women into traditionally male-dominated spaces constitutes progress in and of itself, without asking what we might also be losing in the final analysis. And as you know by now, I always find it important to be able to look at everything and ask the hard questions without fear. In part I today, I dig into my own personal history with feminist ideas and where I have come to with those today. Next episode will get more into the concrete ways in which that has influenced my own life choices, as well as many of my clients and friends. EP 49: How to really stop "self-sabotage"
Full disclaimer: I actually don't love the label "self-sabotage" because, while it likes to pass for self-knowledge, it is often anything but! It's a term that gets thrown around to label behaviors that leave us perplexed because they don't seem aligned with our goals. But upon closer look, you may notice that your unconscious has very good reasons for the way it has you behave, even if those reasons don't make logical sense at first blush. Saying you "sabotage" yourself actually blocks your curiosity and prevents you from understanding your unconscious drivers (which is really what's running the show for us humans!). I also reshare one of my earliest episodes which is all about self-compassion because it is the no1 ingredient for becoming your own best friend and overcoming "self-sabotaging" behaviors in a loving and lasting way. 💫Episode 8: The surprising thing that blocks changeHave you ever made a promise to yourself that you didn’t keep? Maybe it was to start waking up 30 min earlier and start journalling every morning. To hand in your notice within the month to finally launch your dream project. Or commit to eating well no matter what it took... But no matter how many times you promised yourself to FINALLY change for good… it just didn’t stick. AND you made it mean all kinds of horrible things about yourself: that you have no willpower, you have no control, that you're somehow "bad" or "broken"... But guess what, being harsh on yourself when you let yourself down is the kiss of death for lasting change.Moving toward the person you want to become can only come from FULLY accepting and loving yourself where you currently are, even though it feels like exactly the opposite is true. EP 47: How to gain self-awareness (& why it matters)
My simple definition of self-awareness is being present to your internal experience of life. And it is a fundamental element of living your version of the good life since your inner reality has a HUGE impact on your outer reality. But contrary to popular belief, introspection alone is NOT enough to gain self-awareness. In addition to being an astute observer of the way you show up in life, the process of self-discovery is also about becoming compassionately curious as to where your reactions, thoughts and triggers come from. And it’s not just about healing your "negative" baggage, either! Understanding what makes you feel good is equally important. Becoming lucid about your own specific needs and wants puts you in charge of your life, since it allows you to intentionally create more of the things that bring you joy. 🌈Lastly, connecting to the present moment and to that greater consciousness allows us to put everything into perspective... and take ourselves less seriously! Today I talk about what new ideas have been brewing in my head the last few months and how it's affecting even the way I see coaching. And, for the main course, I'm really happy to bring to you a really insightful conversation with one of my dear clients. Başak is a brilliant young Turkish woman who's in France for a PhD in Computational Biology (I mean, I don't even understand what that means 🤣). When she first came to me, she was on the brink of physical and mental burnout. As many gifted adults who have chased achievement and excelled in their chosen field all their lives, she was beset by anxiety, and crushed under her own perfectionism and expectations of herself. During our six-month package together, she got to think about her true priorities, redefined her decision-making process in life and ended up finding her own compass — which includes chasing what sounds like fun instead of choosing "what's sensible"! As a result, she's even started to work as a health coach with actual paying clients... something that wasn't at all on the program to begin with 🙃You're in for a real treat with this thought-provoking conversation!_______________________And, last but not least... a very special treat! I'm offering a free workshop this week where I will share simple and effective tools that you can start using right away for handling life's ups and downs: Riding the Wave, A Workshop on Emotions Thursday, 22 September, 19:00 CET Sign up here to receive the Zoom link: http://theomnivorist.com/emotionsCan't wait to hang out, my friend!! ________________________Episode I mention: Useless and useful stresses——————————————Suis-moi sur Instagram @theomnivorist Par ici pour booker ta séance exploratoire gratuite : https://theomnivorist.as.me/discoverycall

EP 45: What I've learned about love
(The podcast is going on summer hiatus! Please enjoy this final episode, share it widely if you feel inspired, and talk to you in September!) Today's episode is a bit of a personal one. I’ve recently gone through an intense period of growth when it comes to love and relationships. And today, I’m debunking all kinds of common ideas about love, such as: 👉 The connection is what matters most. 👉 It is a matter of meeting the right person. 👉 Love is bound to make us suffer. 👉 The fact that a relationship ends means that it’s failed. 👉 Emotional drama is what’s needed to keep the spark alive… Our culture is rife with misunderstandings about romantic relationships. The problem is, these keep us stuck and repeating the same mistakes with partner after partner. But it is possible to put a stop to your old patterns and create something far healthier, more solid and more beautiful, regardless of what happened in your past. All the work we do of getting to know our habituated patterns, strengthening our relationship to ourselves, creating safety within… all that work is also the indispensable work of love. It is indispensable for becoming emotionally available to let another in. Tune in to find out how to overcome your misconceptions about love and what it takes to create that deep, loving partnership your heart is yearning for. 💕 ____Sign up here for my newsletter: https://theomnivorist.com/newsletter/____PS. It would be my pleasure to help you outsmart your brain and go after what you're truly dreaming of (because if you can dream it, you can HAVE it!). EP 44: Using feelings as your power source
Today on the podcast, I'm coming at you with a unique tool that will revolutionize the way you reach your goals. Have you ever thought about what makes the difference between setting a goal and staying the course VERSUS quitting before you ever get there? Here's a hint: it's got to do with your FEELINGS. You see, feelings are the reason why you set the goal... and they are the reason you give up too soon. The fatal mistake when going after any goal is to skip this essential step: using feelings as a power source. And here's how it works: before you do anything else, you spend time getting inspired by your future self who's already achieved the goal, and you create feelings like accomplished, confident, powerful... ahead of time. This can be a game-changer in how you go about achieving anything you set your mind to. Even though as human beings we are largely ruled by our emotions, we mostly misunderstand and even ignore them — as a result, missing out on their potential to help us change our lives! Tune in to this super useful episode to learn how to make emotions your ALLY in realizing your full potential in life. 🔥---For the other essential piece in emotional skills, make sure to check out my recent episode: What to do when you feel like shit PS. Think about something you're dying to create in your life right now. Now imagine having someone on your side who reminds you of who you truly are and what you're capable of... especially in those moments when you’re ready to call it quits. Reach out to let me know what’s going on for you, and we’ll see if I can help!

EP 43: Victim mentality: the what, the why and the how
Victim mentality is when you make other people or outside factors responsible for your well-being. We all know those people who are always really negative about everyone and everything, who seem to have their share of bad luck in life, and often make their problems someone else's fault. That might be called a typical case of victim mentality. But the truth is, victim mentality can show up in really subtle ways even if you’re not someone who indulges in it as a general rule. And the problem when it goes unnoticed is that, it can keep you from claiming your full agency in situations, undermine your capacity for growth and literally reduce your quality of life! In today’s episode, I provide lots of examples of emotions and behaviors that are dead giveaways that you’re in victimhood (resentment and blame being some big ones) and give you concrete ideas to start coming out of it pronto. ✨PS. Noticing your blind spots can be tricky business when you’re living in your own head! This is why working with a coach can make you go so much faster toward the quality of life you dream of. EP 42: Clean pain vs dirty pain (reissue)
Hey friends, today I'm republishing one of my all-time most popular episodes: clean pain vs dirt pain (and why it matters that you understand this distinction)! I'd recommend that you listen to this again even if you've heard it the first time around — this stuff always bears repeating 🥰----Life is always going to be 50/50. That means half the time we'll feel good, half the time... it's going to SUCK. And guess what? Doing the work on yourself does NOT mean you’re going to be happy and fulfilled all the time! The true mark of becoming emotionally responsible is in HOW we handle the shitty feelings when life doesn’t go according to plan. 😫 When you don't get the promotion you wanted... 😫 When you have another screaming match with your partner... 😫 When you get your heart broken... 😫 When you don't hit your financial goals... Learning to lean into your human feelings and experiencing the clean pain will make you stronger, more resilient. But when you write a shitty story about what happened, you get into dirty pain and you will become afraid of taking action with confidence in the future. And when you don’t take action confidently, you don't move closer to your goals and dreams. As simple as that. Tune in to find out just how sneakily this may be showing up for you and how to put a stop to all that! Also check out episode 15: How to have your own back PS. Even though what I say may resonate for you, I guarantee that your own thoughts and reactions are still invisible to you for the most part. That means they’re holding you back despite your best intentions. If you’re ready to have your own coach on your side to lovingly point out all the subtle ways in which you’re gaslighting yourself and quitting on your dreams, reach out to me at [email protected]. EP 41: Perfectionism vs excellence
Have you always been obsessed with growth and had high expectations of yourself? Do you have an unquenchable curiosity and drive for understanding how the world works and how you can make it better? Are you always looking to heal your own patterns and moving towards a bigger life? But do you have the feeling that… despite all your achievements so far, you haven’t even scratched the surface of your true potential? ... And this thought makes you feel like shite? 😣Well, my friend, you may be suffering from a serious case of perfectionism. The thing is, there’s a big difference between striving for excellence, which is an amazing thing, versus perfectionism, which keeps you totally stuck, or at least slows you wayyy down. In this episode I explain how to tell the difference, and give you solid tips to get out of your own perfectionistic tendencies — starting with making friends with FAILURE. Tune in to get unstuck in whatever area of your life, and start taking massive action with confidence. PS. My friend, I can teach you how to have your own back in every situation so that you never have to give up on yourself again. Just shoot me an email at [email protected] so we can have a chat about what’s going on for you, and how I might be able to help.

EP 40: Happiness is an inside job.
Happiness is defined as "a state of well-being and contentment". And yet, our society teaches us that happiness is not inherent — that it is rather a destination. And that we will only get there if we do everything we're told: do good in school, get a good job, get the promotions, get married, have kids, get the dream house, the dream kitchen, the dream vacations, etc etc. But the problem is, constantly seeking happiness outside of ourselves gets us into lots of trouble. We become overachievers and wonder why we still feel so empty inside even though we did all that we were supposed to do and jumped through all the hoops. Then we indulge in all kinds of behaviors to numb the pain of that dissatisfaction: food, alcohol, social media, shopping... and lose our own health and well-being along the way. We think we'll finally get happy once we "find love", but without having healed our own past and learned to love our own company, we end up repeating the same mistakes in relationship after relationship... In this episode I break down how to know if you're falling into the "happiness trap" and how to go about seeking it first in the only place possible: within yourself. This work is SO important because given all the trouble humanity is in these days, a world full of people who are out of victimhood and who feel good to be alive may just make all the difference. ❤️Episodes referenced: What to do when you feel like sh!tThe bully in your brainPS. The biggest truth in the universe is that we are BORN worthy. But we forget this very basic thing because of so much conditioning and societal BS. EP 39: The bully in your brain
Do you ever put up with abuse from your inner tormentor?? Most of us go through life with this voice inside that is our biggest critic. It loves to come on especially when we're trying to change something in our lives. It nitpicks our every move. Second-guesses our every decision. Never finds anything we do good enough. We’re a nuisance at best and an embarrassment to the human race at worst! But could you ever imagine treating your best friend that way? Or your child when they make a mistake? Would you ever tell them, “ugh you’re such a fuck-up”? Then why on earth is it OK for that voice to talk to us that way?? My friend, our relationship to ourselves is arguably the most important one in our lives. And yet we show up like an emotional abuser. But here’s what NOBODY tells you growing up: Everybody else and their mother also has that voice, no matter how successful they look on the outside, AND...You don’t have to take everything it says at face value!! Because as hard as it might be to believe it, that voice really does mean well. 🤯It just imagines that the world is a wicked place and wants to protect you from harm. It’s just a bit... clumsy to say the least 🤪I’m telling you this because you don’t have to banish that voice from your life or even hate it. All that is needed is to notice when it's on, thank it for its service and go about your own business ANYWAY. Yes it takes practice (because, well, you’ve been practicing believing it for decades) but you can get there. Tune in to today's episode to know how. PS. What I outline in this episode is the way to stop sabotaging yourself and go after the life you want. It is NOT rocket science. Just lots and LOTS of intentional redirecting of your mind. And I can totally help you with it. 🌈🌈🌈Drop me a line to set up a chat ([email protected])! ___To continue the conversation and share your own experiences, join us in our private Facebook group: Redefining the Good Life Community ——————————————Suis-moi sur Instagram @theomnivorist Par ici pour booker ta séance exploratoire gratuite : https://theomnivorist.as.me/discoverycall

EP 38: What to do when you feel like sh!t
What if our emotions were meant to be our greatest teachers in life? What I'm breaking down for you in today's episode is nothing short of a superpower: how to feel all your feelings — and especially what to do when you feel like shite! The truth is, we are incredibly emotional beings and yet, we were never taught how to properly deal with them when growing up. So it's no wonder that many of us get so intimidated by the full spectrum of our emotions (and specifically, the negative ones) that we suppress and avoid them at all cost. But here's what happens when we do that on a regular basis: in trying hard to distract ourselves, we often end up over-consuming (food, alcohol and other substances, work, social media, sex etc), we become afraid of taking risks and overall become guarded when going about life. In the end, we don't feel nearly as good as we have the capacity to, and our lives are much smaller as a result. And that is such a shame, don't you think? This is why in this episode I explain the exact steps you need in order welcome ALL your emotions so that you can develop a beautiful relationship with yourself, with others and with your dreams. Because when you're not afraid of feeling ANY emotion, there isn't much that will stop you from going where you wanna go. 🔥---Episodes referenced: Why you need to go to sleep How to have your own back ---PS. This one simple tool will radically change the way you experience your life but I'm not gonna lie — it takes lots of courage, and trial and error, to make it second nature. EP 36: Why confusion is dangerous to your happiness
Ever wonder what they really mean when they say “we’re the only ones that get in our own way of achieving our dreams”? Like, what does that actually look like? In this episode I explain why your brain is actually afraid of change (even when you’re trying to feel better), and how it uses sneaky techniques like getting you CONFUSED in order to keep you stuck. The danger is that, if you're not aware of this process, it can stop you from pursuing your dreams for a very long time! I also share a very simple exercise to help you get beyond your confusion, and start taking concrete steps toward your goals. If you have been mulling something over for a while but still aren't taking action, you must hear this one! _____PS. EP 35: What it takes to cross the finish line
Have you ever been excited about an ambitious personal project? And maybe you started off with a bang but ended up putting it aside because you can't seem to finish something unless you have an externally imposed deadline? 😫Or maybe something more exciting-sounding came along and you changed course — essentially succumbing to "shiny object syndrome"? 🤪Or you keep telling yourself, "I will get to it WHEN........." fill in the blank! 🙈But these are all just sneaky ways your brain is keeping you from reaching your goals. And there's no magic bullet other than... learning how to outsmart it! It is so important to learn how to get out of your own head and offer your own unique gifts to the world because, believe you me, that is how to make it a better place. Enter this coaching session with my own brother, Askin. What came up for him during my recent challenge, Regret-Proof Your Life, is that the one thing that he would love to achieve in his lifetime is publishing the memoir that he’s been working on. The problem is, he's already been at it for a few years now but is having a hard time actually crossing the finish line. So what we do here is a little mental housekeeping to stop him from changing course (ie, starting a new book!) and put the show back on the road again. This way, he can learn to finish not only this book but many others besides! Because at the end of the day, it is NOT about how successful he becomes and how many accolades he receives (of course those would be nice too) but it is a question of his identity: he is a storyteller first and foremost, and he can't NOT be telling stories. Your sense of who you are is so much more likely to get you motivated on a daily basis than all the external recognition. Of course, resistance will continue to show up regularly and we make a specific plan for that too — but your identity is what will you make sure you sit down to it EVERY DAMN DAY anyway. If you’ve ever had a hard time reaching your personal goals, whether it be writing or something else entirely, this episode is a must-listen for you! PS. This is exactly why it’s so incredibly useful to have a coach in your life on a regular basis. What is it worth having someone to remind you who you truly are and what you're capable of so that your life starts taking the exact shape of your dreams? 🌈🌈🌈 When you're ready, here's what to do: just drop me a line at [email protected] and we'll get your free discovery call on the books. _____COME FOLLOW ME ON INSTAGRAM!

EP 34: "Putting myself first is not selfish."
Today I bring you a super fun conversation with my client (and cousin!), Nazli Kayan, at the end of our 6-month package together. Nazli is a high school Spanish teacher in Florida, and here's where she was when she first decided to reach out to me: “I just felt stuck, I felt like I wasn’t moving forward… I didn’t know that I had a choice to get unstuck… But I needed a guide through the wilderness.” She was also addicted to energy drinks because of low energy, felt overwhelmed... and was feeling powerless about it all because she thought she was “doing everything right”. But during our work together, she quickly realized that it's so easy to get nutrition wrong because there is so much conflicting info out there, and that consuming self-help books was NOT the same thing as getting your brain coached on a weekly basis! One of her biggest breakthroughs was realizing just how much she'd been judging herself and others, and how this played into everything she was doing. “I never would’ve been able to do this by myself. There’s no way. No one is calling bullshit on what I’m saying. No one. Either people are too afraid or I might take offense… I’m paying you to call me out on my bullshit.” This highly entertaining conversation is full of nuggets that will blow your mind. Also, have I mentioned just how sharp and hilarious she is?? Nazli's is a powerful story that exemplifies what's possible with this work: gaining steady energy and inner peace so that you can be the most you can be. You're definitely going to get a ton out of this one! The Free Challenge: "Regret-Proof Your Life" is BACK!
Living a life without regrets is written into the very DNA of this podcast. And the way to get there? To define what the good life means for YOU with intention. One of the biggest things people regret at the end of their days is not having had the courage to live the life they really wished — rather than what others expected of them. In order to avoid this, it's so helpful to make sure you're living by your own rulebook, and not by anybody else's (including your younger self!). Join me for the free challenge, "Regret-Proof Your Life", Oct 27-30, to take the pulse in your life, and make sure you're headed to exactly where you want to go. During these four days, we will be asking ourselves powerful questions and listening to the voice within as the insights come flowing. I will of course be offering live coaching as well, which are always everybody's favorite part of the experience. SIGN UP HERE: https://theomnivorist.com/rpylAnd stay tuned until the end of the podcast where I share an excerpt from the last challenge with some really fun insights about this process!—PS. When you learn to cultivate your inner compass, your life can take unexpected turns. Just like my client Veronica who, while planning a major event for a luxury brand, realized that in fact her future is elsewhere completely — and felt instant peace because she saw in her mind's eye exactly where she's headed. EP 32: Pessimism vs optimism
Given how much I talk about the dismal state of affairs in the world and our species' declining health and happiness, you may well mistake me for a pessimist! But to those who are tempted to label me that way, I'd beg to differ. I believe that naming the problem is NOT pessimistic in and of itself, and is downright essential if we want to do better in our own lives. What it really comes down to is WHAT we do once armed with that knowledge. And the truth is, our personal power is way more expansive than many of us realize. Developing emotional resilience in our lives is the indispensable first step to creating the future we dream of. Tune in to today's episode to find out about my take on human well-being that is actually way more optimistic than what the mainstream would have us believe! ___________Guess what, my free challenge, Regret-proof Your Life is BACK Oct 27-30, 2021! EP 31: Having the courage of your convictions
Hey friends, the podcast is back from hiatus! And today I'm coming to you with a very special episode where I get a little raw and personal. Tune in to find out about my state of mind regarding what’s been going on in the world, how I’ve been navigating these challenging times, as well as an update on the big changes in my personal life (which, if you follow me on social media, you know something about). The summer was both wonderful and sprinkled with emotionally taxing moments. It was amazing to catch up with family and friends in Turkey, and also nerve-wracking to follow what’s been going on in the world and in France, especially with regards to the pandemic. On the other hand, despite all the troubling (and sometimes downright terrifying) developments in 2021, personally it’s been one of my biggest growth years: I've learned TONS about myself and made some big changes that brought me closer to what my heart has been yearning for. Coincidence? Methinks not. I am choosing to see this very particular moment in human history as an opportunity to get clear on what we really want, and create the life (and the world) that we’ve always dreamed of. I am here to remind you that we are powerful when we’re connected to our deep purpose and that now is the time to have the courage of our convictions. EP 30: Where "following your fun" will take you: interview with Augustine Blaisdell
Today I’m super excited to bring you a very special guest, my dear friend and client, the writer Augustine Blaisdell. When she arrived in Paris from NYC in 2009, answering an ad for an apartment exchange, she was a woman on a mission: learning how to help women become more visible while researching and writing a book about feminism. Augustine just published her book, Women à la Mode, her memoir about writing that book. It is a delightful read with its breezy pace and thought-provoking insights into feminist thinking in the last ten years up until today. As she interviews one leading feminist figure after another, she also charts her personal story while embracing the city on the Seine, falling in love and becoming a “lifer” in France in the process. Augustine has always known that she was a writer — and got to where she is today because she decided ahead of time that was her identity, even before publishing her book. In this fascinating conversation, we talk about the power of answering the question "what makes me happiest?" and why making powerful decisions is, well, so decisive in creating the life you want. Today she’s living her dream of helping women as a coach to budding writers, while happily married with two children on the Côte d’Azur. You can buy WOMEN À LA MODE at your local independent bookstore or wherever books are sold.Augustine Blaisdell earned her MFA in creative writing at Columbia University and her BFA in Writing, Literature and Publishing from Emerson College. Fluent in French, she also studied at the Sorbonne and lived in Paris for over nine years. She is a member of the French associations Femmes au-delà des Mers and Femmes d’ici et ailleurs. Blaisdell leads an international literary salon online as well as teaches the courses French Feminists on the Beach, Counterpoint, and Writing Into the Known. Originally from Los Angeles, California, she currently lives in the Côte d’Azur. Women À La Mode is her first book. Check her out at:https://augustineblaze.com/http://instagram.com/augustineblazePS. Here is the step-by-step process to living your own version of the good life: asking yourself good questions and making powerful decisions. Both of which are oh so much more fun and effective to do with a coach on your side cheering you on. 🥳Email me today to get on my calendar for a discovery session: [email protected] ——————————————Suis-moi sur Instagram @theomnivorist Par ici pour booker ta séance exploratoire gratuite : https://theomnivorist.as.me/discoverycall

EP 29: How to build confidence
Countless folks tell me they would go after their dream project if only they felt more confident. It's one thing to know what you want in life, another thing to actually go after it. But confidence is simply a feeling that you can create with your thoughts. And the minimum baseline of it is believing that you can figure out something hard that's new to you. Announcing the Free Challenge: Regret-proof Your Life!
I'm super excited to announce: Regret-proof Your Life, a free 5-day challenge! This is for you if you've ever thought: 👉 I feel stuck. 👉 I have no idea what my passions are. 👉 I don't know what I’m meant to be doing with my life. 👉 I didn’t think this is where I would be in my 40s...The reason we have these thoughts is because we don't realize this very important thing: that the answers are already within us. But we've been living for so long in a system that alienates us from our inner voice that those little whispers inside get drowned out. 😩But the antidote is simple: making the space to ask ourselves what really matters to us in life, and then make a plan to take the actions to get us there. During the week of May 24 - 28, 2021, I will help you get to the other side of all the anxiety about your future. Together we'll ask ourselves some powerful questions and get to work on dreaming up our future! You will see how SIMPLE it can be to put the doubts to rest, and start feeling calm and confident when you think about what's ahead. Imagine when your sister-in-law asks or your neighbor an innocent question about your next professional move, not freezing up like a deer in headlights but being actually excited to talk their ear off regarding your projects 😍SIGN UP HERE: http://theomnivorist.com/RPYLAnd make sure to catch the latest episode of the podcast: How to regret-proof your life I can't wait to hang out with you!PS. I'm the coach for ambitious people who want to put a stop to the fatigue and have the courage to go after the life of their dreams. EP 28: How to "regret-proof" your life
Nobody wants to get to the end of their days and realize, “holy shit, I really didn’t spend my time on what matters to me most”, right??And yet, many of us just "go through the motions” in our lives, without putting much thought into what lights us up and whether we’re spending enough time doing those things. But if you’d like to avoid having regrets later in life, the time to get to work is NOW. The process is actually quite straightforward and has two basic parts: the exploration and intention-setting stage, followed by the action stage. Here are some good questions to start thinking about (I would highly recommend journalling on these): What is important to me? (Can be answered for different aspects of life: family life, love life, health & well-being, work etc…) What are my deepest values? (same as above) Do I surround myself with people who lift me up and see the best in me? What is my ideal average day? Do I already live some version of that? If not, how can I inch a little closer to it today? What gives me joy? Am I deferring happiness in any area of my life? The focusing question from the book the One Thing: "What is the ONE THING I can do, such that by doing it everything else will be easier or unnecessary?"If I keep doing what I am about to do today for the next five years, will I end up with more of what I want or less of what I want? EP 27: Clean pain vs dirty pain
Life is always going to be 50/50. I’ve got a few 1:1 spots coming up!

EP 26: What life coaching can do for you
Everything you want to create in your life is created by your thoughts. Life coaching, and specifically having your own coach, can help you understand what beliefs are creating your current experience and what you need to think in order to get different outcomes. Having somebody in your corner who's fighting hard for your dreams (even when your own belief is low) is the most precious investment you can ever make for yourself. Make sure stay until the end where I share parts of a conversation with my amazing client Francesca who just finished her 6-month package with me and has completely blown her own mind with the huge shifts she had in her mindset and her life.

EP 25: Why putting yourself LAST is selfish
We so often make the mistake of thinking that “putting ourselves first” is a selfish thing to do. But what happens when we don't tend to our own needs (as the only person who can do so) is that we become depleted, resentful and have even LESS to give to those we love. Tune in to find out how filling your own cup first is the kindest thing you can do for yourself AND for others, and is mandatory for the life you want to create. —If you're READY to become the person who no longer believes that the hustle is the way, email me today to get on my calendar ([email protected]).

EP 24: Rewilding, or the search for resilience (interview with Peter Michael Bauer)
“I don’t worry too much about collapse anymore because I trust in the process.” — Peter Michael Bauer Today’s episode tackles that big question: can you think about the end of civilization AND still be an optimist? 😅 I’m super excited to bring you my interview with none other than Peter Michael Bauer, a renowned leader of the human rewilding movement. For Peter, rewilding can be described as finding a relationship of reciprocity with our environments once again, just like we humans lived for 3 million years or more. It is a search for resilience as a community that goes beyond just individual efforts like eating Paleo or donning barefoot shoes. Rewilding isn't just a “nice to have” — finding a place where our level of disturbance on this planet is balanced by our level of regeneration is essential if we want to find our way out of the sixth mass extinction that is currently under way. In this fascinating conversation, we talk about how focusing on building resilience rather than coming from fear is the KEY to move forward. EP 23: What gets in the way of healthy habits
It's almost mid-February... That means most new year's resolutions are already long forgotten! Oops... Just why do most of us fail when it comes to establishing good habits DESPITE our best intentions? That's because we make the mistake of thinking consciously wanting to change and being excited about a fancy goal are enough to get the job done. And yet, they are woefully inadequate. We also make the mistake of giving ourselves CONDITIONAL love, that is thinking that we'll be worthy of love once we get to our goal. But these, my friends, are exactly the opposite of what you need to do if you want to establish good habits and break bad ones for GOOD. Tune in to find out what pitfalls to avoid and how to think in order to become the person who naturally takes beautiful care of themselves and goes after their future with confidence. —As mentioned: Association between periodontitis and severity of COVID‐19 infection: a case‐control studyEp 8: The surprising thing that blocks change—Come connect with me on Instagram and let me know what resonated with you!https://www.instagram.com/theomnivorist/ ——————————————Suis-moi sur Instagram @theomnivorist Par ici pour booker ta séance exploratoire gratuite : https://theomnivorist.as.me/discoverycall

EP 22: Should humans be eating meat?
In the last few episodes I shared with you my nutrition philosophy and the vital importance of eating a diet primarily based on real whole foods. Today I'm back to address that "elephant in the room", which is the question of whether humans should be eating meat. Tune in to find out why the current discussions around this subject often miss the point completely, how everything becomes much clearer when you consider the evolutionary record and why well-sourced meat can be really good for health. You don't want to miss this one! — Episodes to listen to as well: What is real food?So what SHOULD you eat?Why it's high time to dispel "the myth of progress"— "I'm so excited about what's going to happen in my future now!" is what a client who recently finished our work together said. EP 21: So what SHOULD you eat?
Last week I spoke all about my nutritional philosophy which is basically aiming for what we're most adapted to eat, by using clues from our deep past. Today I lay out just what a real food diet looks like, broken down specifically by the three macronutrients: carbs, protein and fat. And as always, I bust quite a few myths about all of those things! 😆—Join us in our private Facebook group, Redefining the Good Life Community, where we continue the conversation about just what it means to be happy and healthy in today's world!

EP 20: What is real food?
Today and next week we’re going back to the basics and talking about food, which is where it all began for me. Tune in to find out what exactly “real food” means and why a properly prepared, nutrient-dense diet of whole foods is indispensable to feeling good in your body, and why focusing on calories is misguided, even when your goal is weight loss. And join me next week as I break down just WHAT to eat. Speaking of real food, it’s still not too late to sign up for The Breakfast Reboot! 👉 https://theomnivorist.com/challenge/ Switching to a real food breakfast is THE key to unlocking the rest of your well-being.

EP 19: The “good life formula”
The "good life formula" is my tried and true process for helping my clients. It consists of two broad containers: first focusing on the body as we get you to feel better in your skin than you have in YEARS. Then, with all that newfound energy, learning to harness the power of your mind: more specifically using your thoughts to create the future you want ON PURPOSE. And I also explain the lowest-hanging fruit in all this, the first obvious place to start: your breakfast. I guarantee you anything that you're sorely underestimating the impact of this one small habit right now!So what are you waiting for? EP 18: You are not uniquely fucked up.
There comes a moment during my work with almost every one of my clients where I have to utter this sentence to them: "You are not uniquely fucked up dear." As much as our brains would like to make us believe that we are ALONE in our suffering and difficulties, we are the only ones who can't keep promises to ourselves and the only ones truly broken... this is patently FALSE. Not only are we not alone in our suffering, most of us today suffer from one form of trauma or another just by virtue of having been born into an environment that no longer provides our basic human needs as organically as it used to. But it is also true that our resilience is truly remarkable. So not only are you not alone... it IS possible to heal my friend. If you're willing to put in the work, a much richer life awaits you on the other side. —I'm so excited to announce... The Breakfast Reboot! This is a free 7-day challenge that may very well change your LIFE. We'll be on the week of Jan 18 but I will start going live to give you the why and the how starting Wed, Jan 13. EP 17: The power of your thoughts
Becoming aware of the power of our thoughts is important because it is how we create EVERYTHING in our lives. But the problem is, when we're unaware of the process, we end up creating lots that we don't actually want! Here are three important things to understand: 1) You are not your thoughts. 2) Your thoughts create your feelings. 3) Your thoughts are… optional. Tune in to understand just how to start wielding the power of mindset so you create MORE of what you do want in your life. —PS. Here's from a recent client testimonial: What did you think you would get vs what did you actually get from working with Aysin?"I thought I would just lose weight and feel less sad. But the whole world has opened up to me. I now feel as though I can achieve anything."
