rekallabrate: the podcast
by rekallabrate
Welcome to rekallabrate: the podcast. I’m Kalla, and this is a space where we explore how shifting the way you think can shift the way you live.Through unfiltered solo episodes and raw conversations with guests, I share stories about grief, love, blended family life, government corruption, natural living, and everything in between. The mission is simple: to be real on the internet and spark dialogue through authentic storytelling. This podcast is recorded in one take with minimal (if any) editing—because life is messy, and that’s what makes it beautiful.A quick note: this show was previously called Lightin’ Up. Episodes 1–25 still carry that name, and I’m proud of them. Those conversations—on everything from birth to the music industry to farming—are still some of my favorites, so I’ve kept them here. But starting with episode 26, the podcast is officially rekallabrate: the podcast.Find

37 | Pet Grief is Real Grief | Paws and Breathe AZ
Send us Fan MailPet grief is real grief. & I have to admit that even I thought there was a “hierarchy” to grief until I lost my cat after my dad died. People act like it’s “just a dog” or “just a cat” until suddenly their entire routine, house, nervous system, & life feels wrong because that animal is gone.In this episode, Katie & I talk about pet grief, soul dogs, rescue culture, the weird side of the pet industry, puppy yoga, backyard breeding, & how losing an animal can completely change you as a person.Katie shares the story of losing her dog Champ & how that loss ended up changing the direction of her life entirely. We also talk about the reality that grief doesn’t really operate in a hierarchy. Loss is loss. & sometimes losing an animal hits people harder than losing certain humans because of the role they played in your daily life.We get into:pet grief & why people minimize itwhat a “soul dog” even isthe emotional & spiritual side of losing animalsthe ethics of rescue, breeding, & pet overpopulationwhy puppy yoga isn’t always as “cute” as it seemshow grief can crack you open in both horrible & meaningful waysThis episode is sad, funny, honest, dark at times, & honestly just a really human conversation about love, loss, attachment, purpose, & the fact that animals impact our lives way more deeply than a lot of people want to admit. If you’ve ever loved or lost a pet, this one will hit home.🔻 CONNECT WITH US 🔻KATIE RAPKOCH / PAWS AND BREATHE AZ: Instagram @pawsandbreatheaz: https://www.instagram.com/pawsandbreatheazWebsite: https://www.pawsandbreatheaz.com/KALLA PAIGE / REKALLABRATE:Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/rekallabrateFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/rekallabrateYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/rekallabrateWebsite: https://www.rekallabrate.comThank you for listening, subscribing, and leaving a 5 star review on this episode! 36 | I Am a Mother: Pregnancy Loss & Grief with Hayden Curry
Send us Fan MailIn this episode of Rekallabrate: The Podcast, I sit down with Hayden for a deeply vulnerable conversation about grief, pregnancy loss, motherhood, & what it means to continue living after your world has been cracked open.Hayden shares her experience with pregnancy loss and the complicated, layered grief that followed—not only the loss of her baby, but the way that loss reshaped how she sees herself, her body, motherhood, & future pregnancies. We also talk about the loss of Hayden’s father & how that grief cracked something open in her life in a completely different way. Grief has a way of doing that—breaking us open, rearranging things, forcing us to look at life, death, & love in ways we never expected.Throughout this conversation we talk about something that doesn’t get said enough: grief needs to be witnessed. Not rushed. Not fixed. Not explained away. Witnessed. We talk about the anger that can come with loss, the fear that can follow pregnancy loss into future pregnancies, & the isolation so many women feel when they experience something that is actually far more common than we talk about. We also talk about claiming the identity of M O T H E R after pregnancy loss. & how grief can evolve into something that eventually becomes part of your story, your purpose, & the way you show up for others. This conversation is raw, emotional, & deeply human.Hayden shares parts of her story with incredible honesty, & that kind of vulnerability deserves to be held with care. I ask that you come to this episode with reverence and deep respect for Hayden’s willingness to be seen in her grief. My prayer is that all of us can be moved by it & perhaps learn to move through this world with a little more compassion & understanding for one another. If you have experienced loss yourself—or if you love someone who has—I hope this conversation reminds you that you are not alone.Grief is something every human will encounter in this life.& sometimes the most powerful thing we can do is simply witness it.🔻 CONNECT WITH US 🔻HAYDEN CURRY / THE COPPER SPIRAL: Instagram @haydenn_curryy: https://www.instagram.com/haydenn_curryyInstagram @thecopperspiral: https://www.instagram.com/thecopperspiralWebsite: https://www.thecopperspiralcreative.com/KALLA:Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/rekallabrateFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/rekallabrateYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/rekallabrateWebsite: https://www.rekallabrate.comThank you for listening, subscribing, and leaving a 5 star review on this episode! Send us Fan MailIn this episode of rekallabrate: the podcast, I sit down with my friend Ransom, AKA Chef Ra, to talk about N O U R I S H M E N T. This is about more than just eating or cooking. It’s about the ART of nourishment—something Ransom has made a career for himself doing! We talk about his journey from being a teacher & living nomadically to becoming a retreat chef & grounding down in one place for awhile. Ransom chefs it up in high-intention spaces where food isn’t just fuel, it’s part of the healing, the bonding, the slowing down. When you’re cooking for high vibrational retreats, you can’t hide behind convenience. You have to source well. Plan intentionally. Consider everyone in the room. Nourishment becomes art.We get into:What it actually takes to meal plan (for a retreat or just your family) without burning outWhy sourcing quality ingredients matters more than we pretendCooking for families in a way that feels grounding instead of overwhelmingThe difference between eating quickly & being nourished deeplyMinimizing waste & respecting food as something sacred, but also not falling into the trap of eating every leftover like a garbage disposalSensual nourishment (yes, we go there!) & how presence, attention, & food create intimacy between couples & humansThe importance of praying over your foodCooking is creative. It’s practical. It’s discipline. It’s devotion. It’s deeply relational. There’s something powerful about choosing to nourish instead of just consume. About slowing down long enough to taste your food. About feeding the people you love with intention instead of autopilot. If you eat food, this one’s for you.& if you’ve been rushing through meals, disconnected from your body, or treating cooking like a chore, this episode might recalibrate the way you think about your kitchen.Food is a gift from the earth. Cooking is an art form. Nourishment is an investment in health & vitality for not just you, but future generations.Let’s cook, baby!🔻 CONNECT WITH US 🔻RANSOM / CHEF RA: Instagram @chef.raaa: https://www.instagram.com/chef.raaaInstagram @radiant.ransom: https://www.instagram.com/radiant.ransomKALLA:Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/rekallabrateFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/rekallabrateYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/rekallabrateWebsite: https://www.rekallabrate.comThank you for listening, subscribing, and leaving a 5 star review on this episode! 34 | Activate Your Voice with Mikaela Sullivan
Send us Fan MailIn this episode of rekallabrate: the podcast, I sit down with one of my best friends, Mikaela, a somatic guide who works with vocal activation. We talk about something most of us were trained out of using: our V O I C E.Singing. Talking. Writing. & most importantly, speaking TRUTH. Feeling sound in your body. Letting what’s inside of you actually come out.We share our own stories about suppressing our voices, performing versions of ourselves, shrinking to keep the peace, & what it looks like to stop doing that. Mikaela breaks down why & how the voice is an ancient healing tool, how it lives in the body, & why it’s less about “sounding good” and more about feeling HONEST.We talk about fear. Hard conversations. Social media personas. AI—& the subtle (& not so subtle) homogenization of expression. Sisterhood. The discomfort (& freedom!) of being seen.Because in a world where algorithms reward sameness & AI can replicate tone, cadence, & even creativity—choosing to use your REAL VOICE might be one of the most rebellious things you can do.If you’ve ever felt like your voice was “too much,” “too loud,” “too emotional,” or not good enough—this conversation is 100000% for you.Your voice is an expression of your soul & it is SOLELY YOURS.Now is THE time to use it.🔻 CONNECT WITH US 🔻MIKAELA: Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/mikaelagoldsunWebsite: https://mikaelasullivan.squarespace.com/KALLA:Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/rekallabrateFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/rekallabrateYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/rekallabrateWebsite: https://www.rekallabrate.comARIA’S SONG:“I Am Enough” by Aria Kate anywhere you listen to music Spotify Link: https://open.spotify.com/track/0WneC30M3JotywIBHKyzJ3?si=SA5AgYegRNexFvAMUS8Cqw

33 | The Creative Process with The Kaleidoscope Kid
Send us Fan MailIn this episode, I sit down with someone who is one of my best friends, one of my teachers, & one of my all-time favorite artists, Josh AKA The Kaleidoscope Kid. This episode is all about C R E A T I V I T Y.& trust me, we keep it real. We talk about the creative process & what it actually looks like to write a song. Like, where do the ideas come from & what does the process look like from start to finish? Josh talks about the importance of LIVING LIFE so that you have inspiration for your art, & how sometimes even simple conversations can lead to big ideas. We also get into that rockstar life, like what it’s like to collaborate, start a band, & even go on tour. But perhaps most importantly, we talk about the real shit that comes up for EVERY artist: self-doubt, anxiety, comparison, & the hard shit. Josh gets into the importance of having supportive & inspiring people around you who simply give you permission to create & be exactly who you are. People who remind you of your talent when you might forget. This is a conversation about artistic expression, but it’s also about being human. About nurturing the reason you started creating in the first place. About living your actual life so you have something real to say.If you make things or want to make things—music, writing, a business, painting, sculpting, cooking, whatever—this one will fuel your soul & creativity.Huge shout out to Josh for being INSTRUMENTAL in the creation of this podcast. If it weren’t for him, I never would have gotten started on this journey. He made my OG cover art, was the first interview I ever did, & even let me use his song for the intro & outro. If you like good music, philosophy, art, & awesome people, you should definitely give The Kaleidoscope Kid a follow & DEFINITELY check him out live if you EVER have the chance. 32 | Grief Tending with Shaelyn
Send us Fan MailIn this episode of Rekallabrate: The Podcast, I sits down with my grief mentor & teacher Shaelyn for a grounded, honest conversation about grief.Through her teachings & her offering of “Elemental Grief”—a seven week grief journey informed by the earth’s elements—Shaelyn has utterly transformed my relationship with my grief. I was so excited to record this episode with her & it instantly became one of my favorites. I am confident that you, too, will feel a shift after listening to this episode. We talk about what grief actually looks like, how it lives in the body, & why pretending we’re “fine” helps no one.Shaelyn shares her experience losing both parents at a young age & how that shaped her relationship with grief—not as something to get over, but something to tend. We talk about grief as a communal experience, the importance of death planning (yes, really), & the role storytelling plays in keeping us connected—to each other & to those we’ve lost. This isn’t a polished, performative grief episode. It’s real talk about death, presence, ancestral wisdom, & what it means to live fully while knowing loss is part of the deal. Grief isn’t the opposite of life—it’s woven into it.If you’ve ever felt isolated in your grief, uncomfortable talking about death, or unsure how to hold loss without trying to fix it, this episode is for you.Be sure to give Shaelyn a follow on the ‘gram so you can stay up to date with her offerings, including the reemergence & restructuring of Grief Temple. 31 | My Dad is Dead & Now I Know Grief
Send us Fan MailIn this episode, I cry. This one’s all about my dad, our difficult relationship, his death, & the grief I walk with now.I tell the story of my relationship with my dad—which was extremely difficult & ugly at times—& how we eventually found our way to forgiveness. I talk about the fights we had even after I “forgave” him, the slow way we rebuilt, & what healing actually looked like for us. I get into how ayahuasca helped me see him differently, love him differently, & what I did when I came home from that ceremony.I get into the timeline of events, his last few months, & our last moments together. I’ll tell you where I was when he died & how I handled the news. & then I get into how everything has unfolded, shifted, & changed since his death. I walk with grief now in a way that I didn’t up until my dad’s passing. It is ever present, yet changing. I get into that, too. Basically, if you’ve ever wanted to know what it’s like to forgive a parent & then lose them, this episode is for you. It is my hope that everyone listening feels inspired to forgive a parent, call a parent, anticipate death & grief, or at least feel not so alone in their grief. I believe that through the power of vulnerable & authentic storytelling, we can change the world. To let ourselves be moved by another’s story is one of the easiest ways to change the world. Thank you for seeing me, honoring my grief, loving me through it. I am so grateful to have this community of people who love me & care about my journey—the good, the bad, the grievey.🔻 CONNECT WITH MEInstagram: @rekallabrate Website: rekallabrate.com (merch, herbal products, & more on the way!)

30 | A Wise Woman's Approach to Herbs & Life with Natalija
Send us Fan MailWelcome back to rekallabarte: the podcast! I'm so very grateful that you're here.In this episode, I sit down with Natalija—a clinical herbalist with 20+ years of experience, a wise woman, & a dear friend. Her story starts exactly where so many people’s plant journeys begin: desperation. When her daughter had a severe asthma attack, she realized the medical system had limits—& that’s when herbalism cracked open a whole new world. Not instead of medicine, but alongside it. Integrative medicine. Both/and. The way it actually should be.We get into everything from anatomy & physiology (yes, herbalists actually know this stuff) to why social media has become a hotbed of herbal misinformation. We talk symptoms as the body’s messaging system, the importance of food as foundational medicine, & why stress management, breathwork, & mindfulness matter more than the latest “miracle herb” trending online.Natalija reminds us that herbalism isn’t about chasing magic fixes. It’s education, connection, kitchen remedies, tasting your plants, understanding your land, & respecting the earth so we actually still have wild plants in 20 years. She breaks down how healing is slow, consistent rewiring—not an aesthetic. Not a performance. We also dive into the uncomfortable-but-necessary topics: inherited patterns from our parents, the emotional side of healing, & how personal growth requires telling yourself the truth over & over again. This episode is grounding, clarifying, & a much-needed antidote to fear-based, algorithm-driven wellness culture. If you've been curious about herbalism, overwhelmed by wellness trends, or craving a simpler, more human way to relate to your health—this conversation is for you.🔻 CONNECT WITH USNatalija Marie Website: www.natalijamarie.com Instagram: @natalijamarie Offerings / Courses: https://www.natalijamarie.com/classesKalla / Rekallabrate Website: rekallabrate.com Instagram: @rekallabrate Podcast: Rekallabrate: The Podcast on all platformsThank you for listening & for being here. 29 | Started From The Bottom Now She's Here with Jana Kearney
Send us Fan MailIn this episode, I sit down with Jana Kearney—entrepreneur, marketing expert, pole-dancing biohacker, survivor, & someone who has rebuilt her entire life piece by piece.Jana didn’t grow up in an easy environment. She started using drugs young, spent years caught in addiction, & lived through things most people never talk about. And then her brother died by suicide — a loss that forced her to rethink everything she thought she knew about pain, coping, & what actually matters.Instead of letting grief drag her under, Jana slowly rebuilt her life. She got into health, biohacking, discipline, entrepreneurship, & finding a sense of purpose again. Pole dancing became part of her healing — a way to reconnect to her body, feel grounded, & move the grief that words couldn’t touch. We talk about the realities of addiction, the long road of recovery, the physical side of grief, how movement helps you process what the mind can’t, & why community is one of the only things that gets people through the darkest moments. Jana is honest, self-aware, & doesn’t pretend any part of her story was easy — which is exactly why this conversation is so powerful. If you’re navigating grief, rebuilding your life, or trying to make sense of the hard things you’ve lived through, this episode will remind you you’re not alone — & that change is possible, even when it feels impossible.🔻CONNECT WITH US Find Jana: Instagram: @janakearneyOut Work 'Em Digital Instagram: @outworkem.digitialWebsite: https://outworkemdigital.comYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@outworkemdigitalLink to RanaRise Skool Group (use this link to join & Kalla gets a cut!): https://www.skool.com/rana-rise/about?ref=d2870662aea243c8a21e5370406d9e1eFind Me: Instagram: @rekallabrate Website: rekallabrate.comThanks for listening & showing up for the conversations that actually mean something.

28 | Herbalism, Motherhood, & Keeping it Simple with Brenna
Send us Fan MailI sat down with my best friend Brenna for a conversation that reminded me why I go to her with half my life crises. She has this rare mix of plant knowledge, lived experience, & a “keep it simple, don’t overthink it” philosophy that makes herbalism feel doable for actual humans with actual kids & actual lives.Even after all these years of talking almost daily, I still learn something new every single time we talk. Brenna has this way of making herbalism feel accessible & human. She doesn’t gate-keep knowledge or promote professional certifications. Rather, she encourages me (us) to listen to our own inner herbalist & simply see what the plants have to say. She blends deep knowledge with a kind of simplicity that’s almost rebellious in a world obsessed with overcomplicating every wellness practice. We talk about her journey out of the allopathic mindset & into trusting her body, trusting the plants, & trusting the process. We dive into birth stories, ancestral wisdom, what it means to mother from instinct instead of fear, & how healing often looks like slowing down rather than doing more. She shares how she approaches plant medicine in her own home—especially with her kids—and why “keep it simple” is basically her entire philosophy. No theatrics, no aesthetic. Just practicality, intuition, & a sense of calm that I swear could lower your blood pressure through the speakers. If you’re curious about herbalism, motherhood, healing, or just want to listen to two friends talk about life in a way that might shift the way you see the world… this one’s for you.TakeawaysBrenna's journey into herbalism began as a response to her own health challenges. The shift from allopathic medicine to herbalism emphasizes a holistic approach to healing.Trusting the body's natural healing process is crucial for personal health.Ancestral wisdom plays a significant role in understanding herbal medicine.Plant medicine is about building relationships with the plants and understanding their effects.Mind, body, and spirit are interconnected in the healing process.Discomfort can be a part of healing, and it's important to sit with it.Supporting children with plant medicine can foster a deeper understanding of health. The balance between control and trust is essential in motherhood and healing.Simplicity in wellness practices can lead to better health outcomes.❤️🔥 CONNECT WITH US: ❤️🔥✨ Connect with Brenna:Website: www.pachanoiherbalarts.comInstagram: @earthling_brenHerbal Offerings: @pachanoiherbalarts🖤 Connect with Me:Instagram: @rekallabrateWebsite: www.rekallabrate.com — merch, blogs, herbal offerings, & all things real & raw. Thanks for listening, liking, subscribing, & showing love—it means the world. ❤️🔥

27 | Red & Green Flags in Spiritual Marketing with Shannon Huvaere
Send us Fan MailYou know those spiritual influencers who make you cringe a little? The ones selling “abundance” but low-key preying on your insecurities? Yeah… we’re talking about them.In this episode, I sit down with Shannon Huvaere to unpack the red & green flags of spiritual marketing—the subtle manipulation, the fake scarcity, the “buy now or you’ll never heal” energy, and the way some people use sensuality or mysticism to sell you something that probably won’t change your life (but will drain your wallet). We go deep on what to avoid when selling your soul’s work (or buying someone else’s), & what to do instead—like being transparent, grounded, upfront, & in integrity. Today I am joined by one of my very best friends & sisters, Brenna @earthling_bren who is an herbalist & former vegan turned intuitive eater. Brenna & I discuss her journey from being vegan for years to shifting to incorporating more animals into her nourishment. We discuss the first time she prepared & ate an animal, what she considers in her decision to consume animals, intuitive eating, reverence for the animals, & so much more. We talk a lot about the plants, too! As an herbalist, earth witch, & medicine woman, Brenna has a strong connection with the plants. 24 | Contemplating Motherhood | Lightin' Up with Kirsten of The Good Vibes Crew
Send us Fan MailWhat’s up, fam! Episode 24 of the Lightin’ Up Podcast is now LIVE! Today’s episode is a little bit different than the rest! I don’t sit down with Kirsten as an expert, but rather as a fellow 30-something-year-old woman who is contemplating motherhood. We’re here to share an open, honest, vulnerable, & unfiltered conversation about whether or not we want to have children. This is a big decision for women & couples to make at any point. Between considerations of finances to the changes in your body & lifestyle, there is a LOT to consider. But with the current state of the world in 2022, we feel it adds an extra, very potent dynamic to consider—do we want to bring children into this fucked up world? This episode is near & dear to my heart because it is a topic that has been weighing heavy on my heart. I am so grateful to Kirsten for having the idea to open up this dialogue. She saw me in my feelings, because she had experienced similar feelings & thoughts, which lead to a really beautiful dialogue. I am so honored to share this piece of our hearts with you. On today’s episode, I sit down with my friend NovTheZoner (@novthezoner_) who is a rapper, producer, & musical genius in Phoenix, AZ. If you haven’t watched Nov’s performance of “The Ugliest Things” Live on YouTube yet, I’m gonna need you to go ahead & do that before you sit down & listen to this episode. It’s about 18 minutes of pure bliss. For optimal enjoyment, listen to it loud & make sure you have room to dance. Nov & I talk about the inspiration behind some of his lyrics, creative alchemy—how he turns his experiences into art, how he stays motivated, the people he surrounds him with, using affirmations in his music, trusting the process, & allowing time for rest. I almost named this episode “Let Go & Let God” because that was a major takeaway from this episode. Whether you’re a creative person (we all are), an artist, musician, or you work in the corporate world, I think everyone will be able to take some inspiration & joy from this episode! My favorite things about Nov are that he is a genuinely good dude who puts a lot of intention into his music & raps about things that are inspiring, uplifting, heartfelt, authentic, & real. Nov is the real deal & I’m really excited to shine light on all the magic that he’s creating in the world! Thank you for tuning into this conversation! I am really excited to shine light on my homies doing dope things in this world & pray that you feel inspired on your own journey after listening to this conversation! Send us Fan MailWhat’s up, fam! Episode 21 of the Lightin’ Up Podcast is now LIVE! On today’s episode, I sit down with my friend Matt Campbell (@producedbymatt) to shine some light on the man behind the magic! Matt is a multi-media producer who does pretty much everything to make shit happen behind the scenes with artists like Odd Squad Family & The Kaleidoscope Kid. I’m really excited to shine some light on the man who is usually behind the camera! We talk a lot about how Matt got involved in music, the unconventional path he has taken including dropping out of high school & never going to college, learning from the greats, & so much other helpful information for creatives (which is all of us!). Matt is usually pretty quiet, so it was really fun to witness him open up in this way! I’m so grateful for all of the help he has given me on my journey with Rekallabrate, including helping me build my first website, figure out how to work iMovie, getting this podcast started, & so much more. I’m constantly in awe of his work ethic, attitude, & the way he gets shit done! Thank you for tuning into this conversation! Send us Fan MailWhat’s up, fam! Episode 20 of the Lightin’ Up Podcast is now LIVE! On today’s episode, I sit down with my friends in Odd Squad Family to discuss just fucking LOVING YOURSELF already!!! Not gonna lie, this is one of the most fun episodes that I’ve recorded. You’re going to hear a lot of coughing & a lot of laughing—you can thank the ganja for both. But all jokes aside, I think that you all are going to love this episode, too. My favorite thing about the guys in Odd Squad Family is that they truly embrace their oddities—& we all have them! 18 | In the World, Not of the World | Lightin' Up with The Real Khiry
Send us Fan MailWhat’s up, fam! Episode 18 of the Lightin’ Up Podcast is now LIVE! On today’s episode, I sit down with my friend The Real Khiry to discuss being IN the world, but not OF the world. Khiry is a rapper, activist, philanthropist, MC, & all around BADASS here in Phoenix, AZ & I am truly honored to shine light on all that he is! Khiry & I discuss the work that he does, how he stays motivated, being authentic, balancing spirituality with our human nature, & so much more. One of my favorite things about Khiry is that he’s here for the entirety of the human experience. Khiry will post pictures of his bible followed by a video of him performing at the strip club. & honestly, I’m here for it all. That’s why I titled this episode “in the world, not of the world.” Khiry & I discuss how we are spiritual beings having a human experience. But so many people get so wrapped up in the spiritual aspect that they forget that they also came here to be HUMAN! That means feeling our feelings, having fun, & sometimes drinking a glass of red wine. Thank you for tuning into this episode! 17 | Self-Love, Fake Eyelashes, Instagram Filters, & Falling in Love | Lightin' Up with Myself
Send us Fan Mail17 | Self-Love, Fake Eyelashes, Instagram Filters, & Falling in Love | Lightin' Up with MyselfWhat’s up, fam! After a much needed break, I am so excited to be back with episode 17 of the Lightin’ Up Podcast! On today’s episode, I’m kickin’ it solo to give you all a little update on my life. If you’ve been following me on Instagram, you might have noticed I haven’t been *as* active at times. You also might have noticed that is because I’ve been deep in a LOVE PORTAL. Tune into this episode to get the tea on my love life. I also wanted to take this opportunity to address a post I made on Instagram the other week about self-love & fake eyelashes & Instagram filters that was, & still is, triggering to a lot of people. It seems to me you either loved or hated that post. While I still stand by what I said, I wanted to explain in a little bit more depth what my thoughts are on self love & how that relates to instagram filters, fake eyelashes, & other manufactured beauty standards. I also go into more detail about my personal self-love journey, which is always a work in progress, but has already resulted in greater self-love than I previously thought possible. Please keep in mind that this is simply me sharing *my* perspective on *my* page. It is not personal, it is not about you specifically, & it is not up for debate. I do not claim to know all of the answers or how you should live your life. I don’t know shit about fuck except my own life—please keep that in mind always. If you feel triggered by something I say, I invite you to sit with that trigger & process it yourself, rather than reaching out to me & expecting me to defend or alter my perspective in order to make you feel more comfortable. Your triggers are yours & I cannot *make* you feel anything. That is law. That being said, thank you for sticking it out with me despite being triggered from time to time. I’m pretty sure I trigger every single person on my page at least once—thank you for loving me (& yourself) through it. Grab your candle, sage, palo santo, sweet grass, & sacred smoke, & let's LIGHTIN' UP TOGETHER! 🕯 As always, take what feels good & if it don't apply, LET IT FLY. Please note that this podcast is for entertainment purposes only, and nothing in this episode (or any other episode) should be taken as medical, legal, or other professional advice. 16 | Death Cafe: A Conversation About Dying | Lightin' Up With Kelly
Send us Fan MailWelcome to Episode 16 of the Lightin’ Up Podcast! On today’s episode, I am joined by my friend Kelly, who is an end of life doula. We sat down to have a death cafe—a conversation about death & dying. The goal of a death cafe is to simply just open up a dialogue about death. It isn’t just a grief group—a death cafe invites anyone who has something to say about death to come share. Some of us might have questions about our own death, we might have lost someone, been diagnosed with an illness, or anything else related to death, aging, & dying. The fact of the matter is that death will come for all of us. We, & everyone we love, are all going to die—regardless of whether we face it or not. Kelly & I are of the opinion that death is something we all benefit from facing. One way to face death is to talk about it. So, that’s what we did—& we hope that you will join us in the conversation. When we accept death as a part of life, we love more deeply. We show our affection, express our love, take the time, live in the present, remember patience, & treat others how we want to be treated. Despite the fact that death will come for all of us, it is still obviously a very sensitive subject. So, please be conscious that this episode might bring up certain emotions if you choose to listen. Though, the purpose of a death cafe & having this conversation is to show that death is not scary, but rather merely a part of life. It is our intention to shed LIGHT on this topic, so that it doesn’t feel so dark. We hope that by sharing this conversation with all of you, we can inspire some peace of mind around the topic of death. This episode was recorded back in August, but due to the nature of the topic, I wanted to wait until a time that felt right to release it. Today, Dia de los Muertos felt like the perfect day to honor those have passed & talk about the potent topic of death. Thank you for tuning in! This is a potent episode—& totally aligned with it being Scorpio season. Death, transformation, & alchemy, baby! Grab your candle, sage, palo santo, sweet grass, & sacred smoke, & let's LIGHTIN' UP TOGETHER! 🕯As always, take what feels good & if it don't apply, LET IT FLY.Please note that this podcast is for entertainment purposes only, and nothing in this episode (or any other episode) should be taken as medical, legal, or other professional advice. 15 | Sacred Pregnancy Release | Lightin' Up with Katie
Send us Fan MailWelcome to Episode 15 of the Lightin’ Up Podcast! On today’s episode, I am joined by my sister Katie to talk about sacred pregnancy release, more commonly known as abortion. This is obviously a very sensitive subject, so be conscious that this episode might bring up certain emotions if you choose to listen. Though, Katie communicates her story in such a loving & accepting way, I think this episode will inspire more love & compassion in all of us. I would be willing to bet that every single one of us knows someone who has had an abortion, whether we are aware of it or not, so this is an issue that touches all of us. I am really excited to share this episode with all of you. Katie & I discuss the history of abortion, alternatives to surgical abortions such as using herbs & medication, her personal story with her sacred pregnancy release, & so much more. We also discuss how we can infuse ceremony & spirituality in releasing a pregnancy—practices which are often left out if you choose to go to a doctor or abortion clinic, but that you can infuse into your own process. I want to thank Katie from the bottom of my heart for sitting down with me to discuss such a personal story & being willing to share it with the world. It takes a lot of courage to show up authentically & vulnerably—let alone when we speaking about topics that are considered “taboo” or “controversial.” But that is how we change the world—by owning our truths & standing tall in all of our experiences. I am so honored to be able to share Katie’s story with all of you & so grateful to Katie for speaking up & sharing in this way. I love you, Katie! This is some POWERFUL SHIT! Watching Katie transmute her pain into power has been an honor. I would highly recommend you find her on Instagram, especially if this episode resonates with you. She has a ton of offerings, from astrology to soaps & salves to resources for sacred pregnancy release. Thank you for tuning in! This is a potent episode—& totally aligned with it being Scorpio season. Death, transformation, & alchemy, baby! 14 | Conscious Uncoupling with the Moon | Lightin' Up with Lisa Marie
Send us Fan MailEpisode 14 of the Lightin' Up Podcast is now live! 🕯Welcome to Episode 14 of the Lightin’ Up Podcast! On today’s episode, I am joined by one of my very best friends & sisters, Lisa Marie, to talk about conscious uncoupling (breaking up) with the moon. We know that this subject might bring up a lot of feelings for some people, especially our sisters who have built spiritual businesses or practices around the moon. We, too, had to go through what felt like a breakup, or a conscious uncoupling, with the moon in light of these innerstandings. We hold space for all of the feelings that might come up listening to this information, & invite you to sit with these feelings & really explore them before completely dismissing these ideas. You may ultimately decide to continue your relationship with the moon, & that’s okay, but at least you will have a better innerstanding of your relationship with the moon after listening to this episode. :) We begin with a discussion of our questions about the moon in general. Is it real? Is it man made? Where did it come from? Is it an alien base or MOTHER ship? We then go on to discuss how this relates to spirituality, harvesting energy, unknown portals, & so much more. We talk about what this means for manifesting under the full moon, full moon rituals & circles, & our feelings on the new moon.We discuss our own journeys with the moon, & how we have rekallabrated after learning this information. We talk about what this means for astrology—does the moon still have an impact on our charts/the world? Finally, we get to a discussion about the SUN—the real, true light of our planet & how we can strengthen our relationship with the sun. Thank you again to Lisa Marie for taking the time to sit down & shed light on this topic with me! This is a good one! 13 | Being Authentic & Holding the Light | Lightin' Up With Myself (Kalla Paige)
Send us Fan MailWelcome to Episode 13 of the Lightin' Up Podcast! On today's episode, I'm kickin' it solo to keep it real with you all & share what's been going on in my life, the things I've been learning, & how I've been feeling in this intense energy. I know I'm not the only one who has been diving into their feelings this mercury retrograde. Things have not only been intense for a lot of us personally, but we have been going through it collectively, as well. Especially as awakened beings in this matrix, the weight of the world can get to be a lot at times. & then we're expected to start & manage a business in the midst of Babylon burning to the ground? I don't know about y'all, but sometimes I just get tired. So, that's basically what I talk about in this episode. The challenges I face as I continue to show up in this creative process, what I'm learning about myself, & how I'm managing feeling like a literal alien on this planet. I don't know the answers. (No one does.) But I do know that I wouldn't be showing up authentically if I didn't show up in my doubts & fears, too. Every single one of us experiences doubt, fear, sadness, sorrow. & then sometimes we feel shame for feeling these feelings, like we aren't being "high vibe" enough or that we must be doing something wrong if we feel this way. Then we get on Instagram & see other people living seemingly perfect lives & feel even worse about ourselves. I want to be a glitch in that matrix.I want to show up in the fullness of my human experience to remind you (& myself) that this is what we came here for--to be HUMAN. & that sometimes being human isn't fun. Sometimes it hurts like hell & we question why we're here. & that's okay. We keep playing the game anyway, because what else would we do with all of eternity? The hard times are when we can experience the most growth if we can let go & lean into the process. Growth is painful, just like when we are kids & we wake up with growing pains in the night. But on the other side of the pain is the beauty, the flower, the new & improved version of ourselves. It's all a necessary part of the process that makes us who we are.Thank you for allowing me the space to show up authentically & share with all of you.Grab your candle, sage, palo santo, sweet grass, & sacred smoke, & let's LIGHTIN' UP TOGETHER!As always, take what feels good & if it don't apply, LET IT FLY.Please note that this podcast is for entertainment purposes only, and nothing in this episode (or any other episode) should be taken as medical, legal, or other professional advice. ABOUT THIS SHOW
Welcome to rekallabrate: the podcast.
