Or why your shots stop working in the third period even though your legs feel fine? This video reveals 10 scientific principles that elite wrestlers understand—but only 0.01% of competitors actually know. These aren't just techniques. These are the invisible systems that make techniques work.⚡ WHAT YOU'LL DISCOVER:- Why elite wrestlers react in 120-180 milliseconds (while others take 300-500ms)- The exact heart rate zone that builds wrestling-specific endurance- How grip fatigue reduces your ENTIRE body's power by 20-30%- Why feints work at 180ms intervals (the psychology behind it)- The circadian rhythm secret: why time of day changes performance by 12-18%- How to read attacks 50-100ms BEFORE they happen- The stance drift that kills technique (and how to fix it)- Energy system transitions that cause sudden fatigue waves- The vestibular disruption elite wrestlers use to "disappear"- Positional economy: why champions concede points to save energy📚 BASED ON REAL SPORTS SCIENCE:This isn't bro-science. MMA is an extremely dynamic sport which has been heavily influenced by Brazilian jiu-jitsu. A totally different approach is needed to succeed in the cage at the highest levels and with certain fine tuning of your BJJ engine, you will be a totally different animal when entering the cage and a force to be dealt with. #7 - Why You Should Add Wrestling for Self-Defence

Adding Wrestling to your Self Defense training is one of the best things you could do as a martial artist. There are so many reasons, many of which will surprise you, that you should consider adding Wrestling Training to your Self Defense training. In no way is this episode about Wrestling being the best self defense system, we even cover why it has flaws when it comes to self defense but this video is for those of you who want to know why adding wrestling can be beneficial to your self defense abilities. Regardless if you train Krav Maga, Karate, Kung-Fu, Ninjitsu, JKD, Silat, Tae Kwon Do, Muay Thai, Kickboxing, BJJ, Aikido, Jujutsu, FMA Arts such as Kali, Escrima, Arnis or Modern Combatitives…Adding Wrestling to Your Training is going to be beneficial. In this episode, I mention a Greco Roman Double Leg, which I want to clarify as in Greco Roman Wrestling there is no touching of the legs (due to the ruleset). What I meant is there is a setup and takedown similar to a double leg called a "High Dive" which this type of throw is better suited for a self defense situation as you do not hit the ground with your lower half of your body (in most cases). I used the term "Double Leg" to convey the movement to people who have no wrestling experience in place of putting the term "High Dive" as this term may have led them to think there is some type of Diving motion and may confuse them. TIMESTAMPS (00:00) - Why You Should Add Wrestling for Self Defense (00:08) - Is Wrestling Good for Self Defense? #3 - How does Luta Livre differ from BJJ?

Brazil is a superpower when it comes to modern grappling arts due to the explosion of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu around the world. Yet there is another grappling art that comes from the jungles of Brazil that is a very effective grappling method known as Luta Livre. Luta Livre is not as well known as BJJ but there still are many famous MMA fighters who practice or came from a Luta Livre background such as Marco Ruas, Jose Aldo, Darren Till, Renato Sobral, Alexandre Franca Noguira, Gesias Calvacante and more. Luta Livre shares many similar characteristics to BJJ, both come from Brazil, both have submissions and allow all ground positions, both teach the practitioner to fight off the back, both have been used in MMA successfully and many other similarities that both arts share can be seen when comparing BJJ to Luta Livre. That said, the main question when comparing Luta Livre to BJJ is how does Luta Livre differ from Brazilian Jiu-jitsu as most times, people think Luta Livre simply is No-gi BJJ and although that may look like what it is on the surface, it is definitely not the case. TIMESTAMPS (0:00) How Does Luta Livre Differ From BJJ (01:27) Luta Livre does NOT use the Gi (01:57) Luta Livre includes Striking (02:20) Submission before Position Based Grappling (03:12) Luta Livre does NOT Emphasize the Guard (03:52) More Emphasis on Scrambling than BJJ (05:02) Submission is the Name of the Game (06:29) Luta Livre is more Vale Tudo/MMA Based (07:03) Luta Livre is Much Smaller than BJJ (07:51) Luta Livre is NOT as developed as BJJ (09:15) In Conclusion Subscribe to The Grapplezilla Podcast for more great grappling content uploaded regularly!
