The Spiritually Curious Therapist
by Jodi Silverman, LCSW
The Spiritually Curious Therapist is a podcast exploring the intersection of nervous system science, mental health, spirituality, and healing.Hosted by Jodi Silverman, LCSW, this show is for therapists, healers, and curious humans who sense that true healing happens below the level of insight alone. Through thoughtful conversations and solo reflections, we explore trauma, chronic pain and illness, altered states, regulation, meaning-making, and what it really takes to help the nervous system feel safe enough to change. This is a space for grounded mysticism, where evidence-based practice meets soul-level wisdom, and where healing is approached with curiosity, compassion, and respect for the body’s innate intelligence.Whether you’re a clinician expanding beyond talk therapy or someone on your own healing path, this podcast invites you to listen differently — to symptoms, to stories, and to what’s asking to be i

When Movement Becomes Healing: Trauma-Informed Embodiment with Emily Young, LCSW-C
In this episode of The Spiritually Curious Therapist, I sit down with Emily Young, a trauma-informed personal trainer, somatic therapist, and founder of The Embodied Trainer, for a conversation about movement, embodiment, trauma, and the nervous system. This conversation explores something that feels increasingly important to me:the idea that healing cannot happen through the mind alone.Emily shares her own journey of integrating the worlds of therapy and personal training after experiencing burnout, chronic pain, and a growing realization that many people are deeply disconnected from their bodies, even while actively exercising them.Together, we talk about:what it actually means to be embodiedthe relationship between trauma and movementnervous system-informed fitnesschronic stress, chronic pain, and overtrainingwhy “pushing harder” can disconnect us further from ourselvesmind-muscle connection and interoceptionmovement as relationship rather than punishmentco-regulation, safety, and sustainable healinghow slowing down can actually expand capacityEmily also shares insights from her newly released book, Trauma-Informed Bodywork, co-authored with Chelsea Haverly, which explores trauma-responsive approaches to movement and body-based healing practices. One of the things I appreciated most about this conversation was the reminder that our bodies are not obstacles to overcome and that they are constantly communicating with us.If you’ve ever struggled with burnout, disconnection from your body, chronic symptoms, or a complicated relationship with exercise and performance, I think this episode will resonate deeply. You can connect with Emily at:TheEmbodiedTrainer.comInstagram: @theembodiedtrainerAnd if this conversation speaks to you, Emily encourages listeners to consider purchasing Trauma-Informed Bodywork through a local independent bookstore whenever possible. As always, thank you for listening, sharing, and being part of these conversations exploring the intersection of nervous system healing, embodiment, spirituality, and human experience.Share what resonated for youThank you for listening to the Spiritually Curious Therapist Podcast. Your Body Isn’t the Problem: Trauma, Fitness, and the Nervous System with Gabi Varga
What if the way you’ve been trying to get healthy… is actually keeping your nervous system stuck? In this episode, I sit down with trauma-informed personal trainer Gabi Varga to explore the often-overlooked relationship between fitness, trauma, and the nervous system.Because here’s the thing, so many people are doing all the “right” things: working out, staying active, pushing themselves to be disciplined…but underneath it, their system doesn’t feel safe. And when that’s the starting point, even healthy behaviors can become part of a pattern of overdrive, disconnection, and burnout.Gabi shares her personal journey—from overtraining, unsafe patterns, and disconnection from her body… to discovering somatic work and building a completely different relationship with movement, health, and herself. Together, we explore what it really means to be embodied and why that matters more than any workout plan.In this episode, we talk about: Why over-exercising can reinforce nervous system dysregulation The connection between trauma, validation, and body image What “mind-muscle connection” actually means (and why many people don’t have it) Dissociation and how it shows up in fitness and daily life Why slowing down is often the key to real progress The difference between pushing your body and listening to it How embodiment leads to greater health, fulfillment, and connection Why weight loss is a byproduct—not the goal A key takeaway:Your body isn’t working against you. It’s responding to patterns—many of which started long before you were aware of them. And those patterns are changeable.Want to go deeper? If this conversation resonates, I’m hosting a workshop:✨ Your Body Isn’t Broken: Understanding Neuroplastic Pain and SymptomsWe’ll explore how the nervous system creates and maintains symptoms—and how to begin working with your body instead of against it.👉 https://jsilverman.systeme.io/workshopConnect with Gabi:Website: thetraumainformedpt.comInstagram: @thetraumainformedptTik Tok: @thetraumainformed ptYoutube: http://www.youtube.com/@thetraumainformedptShare what resonated for youThank you for listening to the Spiritually Curious Therapist Podcast. When the Body Speaks: Decoding Symptoms Through Mind, Body, and Energy with Denise Schonwald
In this episode, I sit down with Denise Schonwald, a nurse, mental health counselor, and author whose work bridges physical health, emotional healing, and spiritual awareness. We start with Denise’s journey, from 20 years as a critical care nurse to stepping into mental health, and how she began noticing something that would shape her entire approach: physical symptoms and emotional patterns are not separate. They tell a story together. From there, we explore the connection between mind, body, and energy, and what happens when we ignore the signals our system is constantly giving us. We explore the chakra system, the mind-body connection, how unprocessed emotions show up as physical symptoms, and why your inner knowing is not the same thing as your anxious mind. If you've ever wondered whether that stomach issue, back pain, or fatigue might be connected to something deeper, this conversation is for you. We talked about:How Denise went from ICU nurse to holistic mental health counselorWhy a psychiatrist who was also a shaman changed the direction of her careerHow unprocessed emotions show up in specific areas of the body through the chakra systemThe difference between the fearful mind and the quiet inner knowingWhy the language we use about our problems actually affects our nervous systemDenise's work bridges physical health, emotional healing, and spiritual awareness, and she has a gift for seeing how the body communicates what the mind has not yet processed.Learn more about Denise and her books at deniseschonwald.com. Biohacking and the Soul: Strength, Trauma, and Spiritual Bodybuilding with Nahum Vizakis
This is one of those conversations that stays with you.In this episode, I sit down with Nahum Vizakis—combat veteran, bodybuilder, and healer—whose journey spans trauma, identity loss, nervous system overwhelm, and a deep dive into both physical and spiritual transformation. We explore what it actually means to “build” yourself… not just physically, but emotionally, neurologically, and spiritually. We talk about: How early trauma and lack of safety shape the nervous system The role of fear and how it can become a compass instead of something to avoid The intersection of biohacking and nervous system regulation Spiritual experiences, embodiment, and the importance of integration What “spiritual bodybuilding” really means (and what it doesn’t) We also begin to unpack the ideas behind his book, The Biohacker’s Guide to Spiritual Bodybuilding—a framework that blends physical training, nervous system work, and inner transformation. This conversation opens a lot of doors… and we’re not done. We’ll be bringing Nahum back for a follow-up episode focused more deeply on the book—and we want to include your questions.💬 Call for Questions What are you curious about? After listening, what questions came up for you? We’re especially interested in exploring: What does “spiritual bodybuilding” actually look like in real life? Where is the line between growth and pushing too hard? How do you work with fear without overwhelming your system? Can biohacking support healing—or can it become another form of control? Psychodrama, Sand Tray & Tarot: Embodied Healing Beyond the Talking Cure with Karen Carnabucci, LCSW-TEP
What happens when we stop talking about our inner world and start stepping into it? This week, I sit down with Karen Carnabucci, LCSW-TEP, therapist, trainer, and founder of the Lancaster School of Psychodrama, to explore the transformative power of action methods in healing.Karen shares how psychodrama, sand tray, family constellations, and tarot can reach places that insight and words alone cannot. Together, we explore how the nervous system responds to enacted experience just as powerfully as real-world events, and why that matters deeply for healing. In this episode:What psychodrama actually is (and why you don't need to be an actor)The nervous system science behind "do-overs" and enacted healingHow the "knowing field" in Family Constellations connects to somatic and ancestral experienceEpigenetics and what we carry from generations before usSand tray as a gentle on-ramp to embodied workUsing tarot as a therapeutic image tool — without the fortune-tellingPractical tips for therapists wanting to introduce more body-based workResources & Links:Karen's website: realtruekaren.comKaren's trainings: https://www.realtruekaren.com/training.htmlKaren's socials: www.facebook.com/lancasterpsychodramawww.instagram.com/realtruekarenwww.threads.net/realtruekarenwww.linkedin/in/karencarnabucciwww.substack.com/@realtruekarenpsychodramacertification.org — find certified trainers nationwideShare what resonated for youThank you for listening to the Spiritually Curious Therapist Podcast. The Breath as a Pathway: From Regulation to Transformation with Blakey Hastings
In this episode, I’m joined once again by Blakey Hastings - a mystic, yogi, and somatic practitioner whose work beautifully bridges the body, breath, and spiritual embodiment. If you heard our first conversation on craniosacral therapy, you’ll love where this one goes.Blakey shares how her work has evolved from hands-on healing into something even more empowering—helping people access their own healing through the breath. And this isn’t just about “taking a deep breath to calm down.”We explore the full spectrum of breathwork—from foundational functional breathing to expanded states of consciousness—and why building capacity, safety, and embodiment is essential for true transformation. This conversation weaves together nervous system science, somatic healing, and spiritual insight in a way that feels both grounding and expansive. We talk about: Why breath is more than a regulation tool—it’s a pathway between body, mind, and soul The difference between release vs. true transformation Why safety and embodiment are required for healing to actually integrate What it means to trust your felt experience as your inner authority How many of us are unknowingly breathing in ways that create anxiety The power of functional breathing as a foundation for deeper healing work Why healing doesn’t come from analyzing the story—but from allowing the body to complete what’s unfinished One of my favorite takeaways: 👉 You already have everything you need inside of you. The breath is how you access it.🌿 Work With BlakeyBlakey is offering a 4-week Functional Breathwork Course starting in May—a live, guided experience where you’ll learn: How to breathe in a way that actually supports your nervous system The foundations of functional breathing (yes—most people are doing it wrong) How to use your breath to shift your state—both up and down How to build the capacity needed for deeper somatic and transformational work This is not just a class—it’s a relationship with your breath.👉 Learn more + sign up: https://www.northstarsomaticarts.com/group-sessions Connect with Blakeyhttps://www.northstarsomaticarts.com/Facebook: northstarsomaticartsIG: northstarsomaticartsShare what resonated for youThank you for listening to the Spiritually Curious Therapist Podcast. Notice What You Notice: Curiosity, the Goddess, and the Intelligence of the Heart with Cynthia Abulafia
In this deeply expansive and grounding conversation, I sit down with author, educator, and yoga therapist Cynthia Abulafia to explore what it truly means to come home to the heart.Cynthia’s work bridges sacred texts, embodiment practices, and the often-overlooked wisdom of the divine feminine. Her debut book, Embodying the Goddess: How to Awaken Curiosity and Reverence on the Spiritual Path, invites us to question the ways spirituality has been shaped by separation—and to rediscover a path rooted in wholeness, curiosity, and lived experience. Together, we explore: What non-duality actually means (beyond the buzzword) Why many spiritual frameworks subtly reinforce a sense of separation and “not enoughness” The difference between being “triggered” vs. activated—and why language matters How curiosity becomes a healing force that allows us to slow down, feel, and integrate The concept of “cleaning the instrument of the heart” as a living spiritual practice How to recognize the difference between reverence and compulsion in our daily lives The role of the body and the earth in reconnecting us to wholeness Why so much of what we’re seeing right now—personally and collectively—is a breakdown of old paradigmsOne of my favorite takeaways from this conversation is Cynthia’s simple but powerful invitation:👉 “Notice what you notice.”Because when we begin there—without judgment, without rushing to fix—we open the door to something deeper: curiosity, presence, and ultimately, a return to the heart. This episode is for you if you’re: Feeling disconnected from yourself and craving a deeper sense of embodiment Curious about the intersection of spirituality, nervous system work, and healing Ready to shift from striving and fixing into listening, sensing, and allowingYou can find Cynthia's, Embodying the Goddess: How to Awaken Curiosity and Reverence on the Spiritual Path book hereConnect with CynthiaCynthiaAbulafia.com@embodyingthegoddessbook, @cynthiaabulafiayoga, (YouTube) Embodying the Goddess, (Substack) @embodyingthegoddessShare what resonated for youThank you for listening to the Spiritually Curious Therapist Podcast. Widening Your Window of Tolerance: How the Nervous System Learns Safety - Solo Episode
In this solo episode of The Spiritually Curious Therapist, I explore one of the most important concepts in nervous system healing: the window of tolerance. I realized it's something I don't talk about enough and with so much information circulating about nervous system regulation, it can be easy to feel overwhelmed trying to figure out what actually works. ISo in this episode, I break down what we’re really talking about when we talk about “regulating the nervous system” and why the goal isn’t to stay calm all the time, but to expand the range of experiences your system can hold. You’ll learn how the nervous system moves between activation and shutdown, why these responses are protective rather than pathological, and how small experiences of safety can gradually widen the window of tolerance over time.Drawing on Polyvagal Theory, trauma-informed somatic work, and years of clinical experience, I explain why healing isn’t about thinking your way into regulation, it’s about experience, sensation, relationship, and repetition.I also offers a simple practice you can try immediately to begin supporting your nervous system. This episode is for therapists, healers, and anyone curious about how the body and nervous system shape our emotional and physical well-being.Stay up to date on offerings by joining our newsletter hereComing Up! When the Nervous System is Stuck: Neurodivergince, Chronic Illness & the Path Back to Regulation with Micah Saviet, MSW, LCSW-C, NBC-HWC
In this episode of The Spiritually Curious Therapist, I sit down with therapist, coach, and researcher Micah Saviet, MSW, LCSW-C, NBC-HWC to explore the powerful intersection of nervous system regulation, Neurodivergence, trauma, and chronic illness. Micah is a therapist and board-certified health and wellness coach who specializes in working with adults at the intersection of trauma, ADHD, and chronic illness. His integrative somatic approach draws from mindfulness, energy psychology, emotional freedom techniques (EFT), brainspotting, somatic experiencing, and parts work to support lasting healing and nervous system regulation.Micah shares his personal story of living with ADHD and navigating years of unexplained chronic illness before discovering the role of nervous system dysregulation and limbic system patterns in driving both emotional and physical symptoms. Together, we dive into why traditional top-down therapies sometimes fall short, and why body-based approaches that work directly with the nervous system can create deeper and more sustainable healing. We also explore how many neurodivergent adults spend years compensating and masking before their systems begin to break down, and how therapy can help restore regulation, self-trust, and embodied awareness. Embodiment Is Spiritual: The Story Beneath My Work
For years, I’ve spoken about spirituality, nervous system regulation, somatics, Reiki, and embodiment. But I’ve never shared the story underneath all of it....because I didn't know it existed. This episode is not my credentials. It’s not my training history. It’s the lived experience that I know understand shaped everything I do and everything I teach. From being born four pounds, fifteen ounces… To proprioceptive challenges and chronic clumsiness… To finding regulation through gymnastics… To surviving placenta accreta and three months of pain absorbing what my body refused to release… To miscarriage, faith, dissociation, and coming home through movement…This is the story of how my body became, and continues to be the curriculum. If you’ve ever felt like your nervous system was working harder than everyone else’s… If you’ve understood your patterns but still felt stuck… If you’ve sensed that embodiment is the missing piece…This episode is for you.—Psychotherapeutic Reiki Fundamentals is rooted in this lived experience: the belief that when the therapist’s nervous system is regulated, the field changes. Enrollment is open.Learn more here: https://jsilverman.systeme.io/fundamentals—From Lock to Liberation isn’t something I invented. Just Because It’s Normal Doesn’t Mean It’s Natural: Ayurveda, Digestion & the Path Back to Balance
In this conversation, I sit down with therapist and Ayurvedic student Kara Mifflin to explore a powerful idea:Just because something is common… doesn’t mean it’s natural. So many of us accept chronic stress, fatigue, digestive issues, anxiety, and disconnection as simply “part of life.” But what if many of the symptoms we’ve normalized are actually signs of imbalance — not our natural state? In this episode, we explore how Ayurveda, nervous system awareness, and spiritual connection can help us return to a more balanced, energized, and aligned way of living.Kara shares how small shifts — beginning with something as simple as breakfast — transformed her own health and how she now integrates Ayurvedic principles into her clinical work. Together, we talk about digestion not only as a physical process, but as our capacity to metabolize emotions, stress, and life experiences. We also explore the connection between energy, mental health, and spirituality — and how reconnecting with something greater than ourselves can support healing, safety, and meaning. This conversation is an invitation to question what we’ve been taught to accept as “normal”… and to rediscover what it means to feel truly well.✨ In this episode we explore:Why “normal” doesn’t always mean healthy or naturalAyurveda as a holistic system for balance and wellbeingDigestion as the foundation of physical and emotional healthHow undigested experiences can show up as symptomsSimple daily practices that support nervous system regulationThe role of energy and spiritual connection in healingWhy we may be meant to feel far better than we think🌿 Key takeawayWe often adapt to feeling unwell because everyone around us feels the same. But our natural state is not constant stress and depletion — it’s balance, clarity, and vitality. When we begin tending to digestion, energy, and self-connection, we don’t just manage symptoms — we start to feel how good we were always meant to feel.🔗 Connect with Kara [email protected] TodayIFS DirectoryShare what resonated for youThank you for listening to the Spiritually Curious Therapist Podcast. Grounded Mysticism & Neuroplastic Healing: Trance, Safety, and the Nervous System with Juliana Sloane
In this episode of The Spiritually Curious Therapist, I am joined by Juliana Sloane, a Buddhist teacher, hypnotherapist, and depth-oriented healer who blends ancient wisdom traditions with modern neuroscience and client-centered neuroplasticity.Together, we explore how altered states of consciousness, including hypnosis, shamanic journey work, and meditation, can support deep healing without overwhelming the nervous system. This conversation bridges spirituality, trauma-informed care, and practical nervous system regulation, offering a grounded alternative to “more intense” healing experiences. In this episode, we explore:Why altered states can support healing beyond talk therapyThe nervous system’s role in safety, fear, and symptom persistenceHow hypnosis and shamanic journey work differ from (and complement) psychedelic experiencesWhy bite-sized, paced healing matters for integrationHow trance states support neuroplasticity and regulationWorking with chronic pain, chronic illness, and life-altering diagnoses through relationship—not resistanceThe idea of “practical mysticism”: staying embodied while engaging expansive consciousnessHow to choose the right modality based on safety, capacity, and readinessThis episode is especially meaningful for therapists, healers, and spiritually curious humans who feel they’ve “done the work” but sense there is something deeper calling—without wanting to overwhelm their system in the process.Juliana also offers online meditation classes, in-person teaching throughout the Southwest, and seasonal retreats for those seeking deeper immersion. If healing feels overwhelming, this conversation is a reminder that safety—not intensity—is what allows transformation to last. You don’t have to force change; your nervous system already knows the way when it feels supported.🌿 Learn more about Juliana’s work: Website: https://julianasloane.comUpcoming Women's Retreat: https://offgridretreats.org/events/april2026deeprestInstagram: instagram.com/julianasloaneShare what resonated for youThank you for listening to the Spiritually Curious Therapist Podcast. Integrating Nervous System, Somatic & Energy Work in Therapy — A Conversation with Kanjana Hartshorne
In this episode of The Spiritually Curious Therapist, I sit down with fellow psychotherapist, Reiki practitioner, and holistic educator Kanjana Hartshorne for a deeply grounded and expansive conversation about what it truly means to treat the whole person in therapy.Kanjana shares her journey from cancer care and hospice work into building a somatic- and energy-informed private practice — and eventually a growing ecosystem of trainings, retreats, and clinician support spaces. Together, we explore the gap many therapists feel between traditional clinical training and the lived practices that actually sustain us as humans and healers. This conversation weaves together nervous system regulation, intuition, movement, meaning-making, neurodiversity, and the importance of practitioner embodiment — reminding us that therapy is not just something we do, but something we are.✨ In this episode, we explore:Why words alone are often not enough in trauma, grief, and chronic illness workThe importance of practitioner self-regulation and embodimentHow intuition is a developed skill, not an innate talent you either have or don’tUsing movement, yoga, and somatic awareness ethically in therapy sessionsWhy nervous system regulation does not mean being calm all the timeThe role of co-regulation — and why it can’t be replaced by self-paced programs or AIPersonalized nervous system care vs. one-size-fits-all interventionsSupporting neurodivergent nervous systems with flexibility, choice, and permissionIntegrating meaning-making, consciousness, and regulation for deeper healingHow therapists can move beyond the couch while staying ethical, grounded, and attuned🌱 About KanajanaKanjana Hartshorne is a psychotherapist, Reiki practitioner, yoga therapist, and educator who specializes in integrative, somatic, and nervous-system-informed care. When Symptoms Speak: Homeopathy, Safety, and the Intelligence of the Body
In this episode of The Spiritually Curious Therapist, I’m joined by Lauren Messina, a board-certified classical homeopath whose mission is healing generations one family at a time.Lauren shares her deeply personal journey into homeopathy, shaped by a lifetime of chronic illness, autoimmune diagnoses, and a profound desire to approach healing differently, both for herself and for her children. What unfolds is a powerful conversation about the body’s innate intelligence, the meaning behind symptoms, and how true healing happens when we stop suppressing signals and start listening.Together, we explore how homeopathy works as a whole-person system of medicine, addressing mental, emotional, physical, and even spiritual layers of experience. Lauren explains the Law of Similars in accessible terms and describes how individualized remedies gently signal the body to restore balance—much like helping the nervous system recognize safety after long-standing misfires. From grief manifesting as physical illness, to why chronic symptoms require patience and skilled case management, this episode bridges homeopathy with nervous system regulation, trauma-informed care, and relational healing. It’s a conversation especially resonant for therapists, healers, and anyone curious about approaches that honor the body’s wisdom rather than override it.In this episode, we explore:What homeopathy is—and what it isn’tWhy symptoms are messengers, not enemiesHow chronic illness reflects imbalance rather than failureThe role of safety, regulation, and collaboration in healingWhy individualized care matters (and protocol approaches often miss the mark)How homeopathy complements psychotherapy and nervous-system-based workThe spiritual and generational ripple effects of true healingLauren also shares insights into her clinical process, the importance of patience in chronic healing, and why homeopathy often finds people exactly when they’re ready.🔗 Connect with LaurenTo learn more or schedule a discovery call, visit: https://www.heirloomministries.orgShare what resonated for youThank you for listening to the Spiritually Curious Therapist Podcast. Heart and Soul Recovery: Healing Relational Trauma from Within (Part 1 of 4 part series)
Welcome to a brand-new solo series: Heart and Soul Recovery: Healing Relational Trauma from Within. In this 4-part journey, I’ll walk you through the deeper layers of healing relational trauma—not just from a psychological lens, but from a spiritual and nervous system-informed perspective. Together, we’ll explore how healing happens when we reconnect with the body, regulate the nervous system, and remember who we truly are beneath the pain.In this first episode, I share what makes relational trauma unique—and why it can be so hard to identify and walk away from. Releasing Responsibility Through Spirituality with Kara Bailey Mifflin, LPC, Certified IFS Therapist
As a therapist/healer are you sometimes overwhelmed by a feeling of responsibility for healing or helping others?Join me in this episode as I talk with Kara Bailey Mifflin, LPC and Certified IFS Therapist about how spirituality has allowed her to release the responsibility of fixing others and in turn be fully present, compassionate and expansive with herself, her clients and all of their combined parts. Kara has had a 30 year career in mental health and recently opened her own private practice in 2021 during the pandemic. Although she has been a therapist for many years, it wasn't until she entered her own recovery process through Adult Children of Alcoholics and Family Dysfunction 8 years ago, that she found spirit, a "power greater than ourselves", in healing. This spiritual journey as well as her own IFS therapy has opened opportunities for radical growth and connection with her parts, especially her inner child, which has led to expansion and joy in her own life as well as the work she does with others.Show NotesKara Bailey Mifflin can be reached at [email protected] more information on Adult Children of Alcoholics and Family Dysfunctionhttps://adultchildren.org/For more information on Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS)https://ifs-institute.com/Therapists who are interested in being interviewed for the podcast can email [email protected] you interested in how to use Chakra Theory in psychotherapy? Spiritual Bypassing and Why We Need to Know About It
In this solo episode I introduce the concept of Spiritual Bypassing as an important aspect to consider in the intersection of spirituality, mental health and healing. Spiritual Bypassing is a term coined by John Welwood, a transpersonal psychologist and author. It refers to a practice by which we may use spiritual ideas, beliefs, rituals, etc as a way to avoid dealing with difficult situations, emotions, feelings or thoughts. As therapists and healers it is our responsibility to recognize this practice in both ourselves and our clients. Spiritual wellness involves connecting to ourselves and others in authenticity, being open to the present moment and the ability to sit with difficult situations, emotions, feelings and thoughts knowing that they do not define who we are. Our spiritual practices in essence support us in these moments rather than take us away from them.If you are a practitioner who would like to be interviewed around the concept of Spiritual Bypassing please reach out to me at [email protected] can learn more about me and my offerings at therachihealing.com and journeywithkindredsouls.comIf you are a therapist interested in psychotherapeutic reiki please join our facebook group at facebook.com/groups/psychotherapeuticreikiforcliniciansReferenced in this episodeJohn Welwood's book Towards a Psychology of Awakeninghttps://www.amazon.com/Toward-Psychology-Awakening-Psychotherapy-Transformation-ebook/dp/B00K6HLAYM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1548277681&sr=8-1&keywords=welwoodRumi Poem The Guest HouseThis being human is a guest house.Every morning a new arrival.A joy, a depression, a meanness, some momentary awareness comesas an unexpected visitor.Welcome and entertain them all!Even if they’re a crowd of sorrows, who violently sweep your houseempty of its furniture, still, treat each guest honorably. He may be clearing you outfor some new delight. The dark thought, the shame, the malice, meet them at the door laughing, and invite them in.Be grateful for whoever comes, because each has been sentas a guide from beyond.Share what resonated for youThank you for listening to the Spiritually Curious Therapist Podcast.
