422: The Two Patterns We Get Stuck In

In this episode of A Deliberate Pause, we explore where lasting change really begins. It's easy to focus on what we want other people—or our circumstances—to do differently. But meaningful change starts closer to home: with us. When we pause long enough to see how we're showing up, we give ourselves the opportunity to choose differently. And those small, deliberate choices can begin changing not only how we experience our lives, but our relationships too. Learn more: www.shiragura.com

    421: Emotionally Unstuck: Coming Home

What does it actually mean to be emotionally stuck? In this episode, I'm sharing why I've renamed the podcast Emotionally unSTUCK—and why, in many ways, this change feels like coming home. After ten years of teaching and coaching The unSTUCK Method®, I finally found the language to describe what I had been seeing all along: We get caught in feelings, thoughts, and behaviors that pull us away from the people we want to be. We get emotionally stuck. And when we get emotionally stuck, we lose ourselves. In this episode, I'll help you begin recognizing what emotional stuckness looks like in everyday life, why getting stuck is different from simply experiencing a difficult emotion, and how recognizing that you're stuck can create the possibility for something incredibly important: choice. I'll also share what you can expect from Emotionally unSTUCK going forward as I return to sharing real-life stories, practical teachings, and The unSTUCK Method to help you find your way back to yourself. Ready to learn how to get emotionally unstuck? Come to www.shiragura.com to get a copy of my book, The unSTUCK Method, where I'll walk you through the complete five-step process. Because getting stuck is human. Learning how to get unstuck is a practice. Learn more on my website: www.shiragura.com

    420: Anchors and Emotional Well-Being

In this unexpected episode, I share a powerful and heartfelt message from a student whose life has been deeply impacted by The unSTUCK Method®. What began as a simple note about "anchors" becomes a moving reflection on how the work has helped her build a meaningful and compassionate relationship with herself. The student describes feeling more grounded, more confident, and noticing positive changes in how others respond to her—all without trying to be someone different. This episode highlights the true transformation that comes from doing the work and serves as an invitation to explore what's possible for you, too. To learn more: www.shiragura.com

419: Feeling Like a Bad Friend… and What I Did About It

In this episode, I share a deeply personal story about choosing not to attend a friend's mourning period during a time of war—and the intense guilt that followed. I walk you through the inner conflict between wanting to be a supportive friend and honoring my own fear and safety. Using The unSTUCK Method®, I process my thoughts, challenge the stories my mind created, and shift toward self-compassion and acceptance. Ultimately, the episode highlights that guilt isn't resolved externally through reassurance—but internally through awareness and choice. It's an invitation to release what we're holding onto and move forward with peace. To learn more about handling the everyday moments in your life, head over to: www.shiragura.com

    418: War Thoughts and Setbacks

In this episode, I share a powerful reflection from a live coaching session inside my program, Living Deliberately, during a time of real-life uncertainty and challenge. We explore the idea that feeling overwhelmed, emotional, or "off track" isn't a setback—it's part of being human. You'll learn why you're not meant to feel good all the time, and how creating stories around your emotions is what keeps you stuck. Instead, I'll guide you toward handling life one moment at a time with self-compassion, using the tools you already have. This episode is a reminder that you can handle anything—without needing to be perfect. www.shiragura.com

416: When You Fall Off Your Path, This Is What You Need to Know

This week, I noticed a common theme across all my programs: students committing to change, then falling off track and spiraling into shame, guilt, and regret. When you snap at someone, break a commitment, or act against your values, it feels black and white – like you've failed and there's no hope. But here's what most people miss: falling off your path isn't an obstacle, it's an opportunity. In this episode, I share why uncovering the hidden thought that caused your behavior is the real game-changer, and how using The unSTUCK Method to find that "piece of gold" is what actually creates lasting change in your life. 415: How to Make a Decision When Your Mind Won't Let You

Have you ever needed to make a decision, but your mind simply won't let you? You go back and forth, that little voice keeps saying "wait, what if..." and you end up paralyzed, not making any decision at all. In this episode, I share a real conversation with one of my students who was struggling with her retirement decision - but this isn't really about retirement. It's about understanding why your brain does this (hint: it's trying to protect you), and how to work WITH your mind instead of fighting against it so you can finally make decisions with confidence. 414: How to Handle When Things Fall Apart

Not every challenge we face involves other people pushing our buttons.  Sometimes things just fall apart - like when technical issues derailed my 3-day challenge that over 1,000 people signed up for. In this episode, I share how I used The unSTUCK Method multiple times to move through frustration and disappointment, and how it helped me respond with calm, clarity, and creative solutions instead of breaking down. This is a reminder that this method works for ANY difficult situation you face - whether it's with others, yourself, or just life throwing you curveballs. Get started here: www.shiragura.com

413: How to Handle Disappointment in Someone Else's Behavior (When It Has Nothing to Do With You)

Ever watched someone else mess up and felt the urge to jump in and fix it - even though it had nothing to do with you? In this episode, I share a real story about my husband being late and disappointing our son, and how I almost made their conflict MY problem. You'll hear exactly how I used the unSTUCK Method in real-time to stay out of the Reactivity Loop and respond in a way I was proud of - without the struggle. If you've ever felt responsible for fixing other people's mistakes or managing their relationships, this one's for you. To learn more: www.shiragura.com

412: How to Handle Failure Without Getting Stuck in Shame

In this episode, I share a recent failure I experienced - one that left me feeling embarrassed, guilty, and stuck in a cycle of shame. I talk about what happened when I published my book "A Consideration a Day," realized it wasn't what I wanted it to be, and then caught myself avoiding this very podcast for weeks because I didn't want to admit my mistake. But here's what changed everything: I walked myself through The unSTUCK Method and chose to get unstuck from the Reactivity Loop instead of staying stuck in it. If you've ever failed at something and found yourself spiraling into negative self-talk, hiding, or taking on guilt that doesn't serve you - this episode is for you. 410: When a Little Thing Becomes a Big Deal

In this episode, I share a real-life story about how a small disagreement with my husband over moving the car turned into a surprisingly emotional moment. What could have easily led to resentment or conflict became an opportunity to pause, reflect, and get unSTUCK using the method I teach. You'll hear how a simple voice message shifted the dynamic and created space for understanding, connection, and repair. This story is a powerful reminder that it's not about the car—it's about how we choose to show up when things don't go our way. It's just about 10 minutes—perfect for a quick reset and real-life inspiration. www.shiragura.com

408: How to Handle the Unexpected

This week's episode is about one of my students who was traveling to a retreat I was leading when her train hit someone and all service stopped, leaving her stranded hours away while everyone else was gathering for dinner. Instead of panicking or falling apart, she used the tools we practice to stay calm and handle each unexpected challenge with grace. 407: Consider Learning from Experience

I'm about to lead a 3-day challenge called "React Less, Feel Better" - and yesterday I completely lost it with my kid over a car incident. Talk about ironic timing! I was shocked by my own reaction, but here's what I learned about why we react differently to new situations versus familiar triggers. 404: Consider it's not your business

In this episode, I share a real-life story from just last night that perfectly demonstrates The unSTUCK Method in action. When my husband and daughter got into an unnecessary argument right in front of me, I had a choice: jump in and "fix" it like I used to (which always led to bigger fights), or use what I teach. I'll walk you through exactly how I noticed my own stuck emotions, paused instead of reacting, and completely avoided the drama that would have followed. This is what's possible when you transform those tiny moments – building not just better relationships, but your own self-trust and resilience. 403: Emotional Eating

This week, I'm sharing a personal story—and two from my students—about breaking the pattern of emotional eating, one moment at a time. Inside my You Can Handle Anything program, we've been exploring how emotional habits form and how even small shifts can create powerful change. You'll hear how awareness in the moment opens the door to choice, and how using The unSTUCK Method can help you interrupt old patterns and choose differently. It's just about 10 minutes—perfect for a mindful moment between meals or anytime you need a reset. www.shiragura.com

    402: Consider it doesn't matter

In this light and relatable episode, I share a real-life story about a board game night gone sideways—and how one small comment could have easily spiraled into conflict. Instead, I used The unSTUCK Method to pause, shift perspective, and remind myself what really matters. It's a simple story with a powerful message: not everything needs to turn into drama. Sometimes, peace comes from choosing not to be right. It's a short episode—perfect for a short reset or a mindful moment in your day. Learn more by heading over to www.shiragura.com

We explore the power of stopping as the first essential step toward real change, and why most of us skip it without realizing. I open up about how this pause helped me gain clarity, make meaningful updates to my work, and align more deeply with how I want to serve you. 388: Unmet Expectations

Do you ever get frustrated when things don't go as planned, especially when you're hoping for something simple, like having a meal together with your family? I recently had one of those moments. After fasting for Yom Kippur, I had this picture-perfect idea of breaking the fast with my family around the dinner table. But as I walked home from prayer services, I started to fume, convinced that they'd already started eating without me. Instead of letting the frustration boil over, I used a tool I created called The CLEAR Way, which helped me prepare for whatever I might walk into. And I'm so glad I did, because when I got home, my boys were sitting at the kitchen island, already eating! 😤 But because I had mentally prepared myself, I calmly asked if they'd like to sit down at the table with me. And guess what? They did. It wasn't perfect, but it didn't turn into a drama. I didn't get mad, I didn't hold a grudge—and that made all the difference. Handling unmet expectations without spiraling into frustration is possible for all of us. It just takes some practice and the right tools. 🎯 I share the full story in this week's podcast.  Tune in now! Click here to start your free trial for The unSTUCK Method program.

    387: Pet Peeves

Do you ever get annoyed by those little things people do that just grate on your nerves? 🙃 Maybe it's someone chewing loudly, leaving dirty dishes in the sink, or texting during a conversation. Those are called pet peeves, and we all have them. I've been thinking about mine lately—especially when it comes to my husband. One of my big ones? When he answers for other people like he knows what they're thinking! 😤 The other night, it happened again at dinner, and I felt that familiar frustration creeping up. But instead of letting it ruin the evening, I used The unSTUCK Method to help me process my emotions and move on—without causing unnecessary drama. The truth is, pet peeves often say more about us than the other person. They stem from our preferences or sensitivities, and how we choose to react is really our responsibility. In this week's episode of the "You Can Handle Anything" podcast, I share the full story and how you can manage your reactions to those everyday annoyances. You don't want to miss it! 🎧✨ Tune in and see how you can get unstuck from your own pet peeves. Shira 💛 P.S. Pet peeves may never go away, but how we handle them can change everything! www.shiragura.com

386: Drama, Stories, and Missiles from Iran

I wanted to share something unexpected that happened just a few hours ago while recording this week's episode of the "You Can Handle Anything" podcast. The theme of today's episode was drama, and life certainly delivered. As I was recording, Iran began launching ballistic missiles at Israel, triggering sirens that sent us rushing to our safe rooms. In the rush, I dropped the mic but forgot to pause the recording. When it was safe to return, I discovered the recording was still running. I've decided to keep this part in the episode to keep things authentic and real. Please be aware that you'll hear this interruption around minute 7 or 8 of the episode. I share this not only to prepare you but to reflect on how crucial it is for us to manage our responses, especially in unexpected and challenging times. Wishing us all peace and safety, and the strength to get unstuck, even in the toughest moments. Love, Shira P.S. Imagine how much better our world could be if everyone knew how to use the tools to handle anything life throws our way. www.shiragura.com

    385: Consider a Do Over

Ever wished you could hit a "reset" button on a conversation gone wrong? 🔄 I sure have! This week on the "You Can Handle Anything" podcast, I'm diving into the concept of a "do over" and sharing a personal story that might just change the way you approach misunderstandings. A couple of weeks ago, a simple misunderstanding about a dentist appointment spiraled into unnecessary frustration between me and my husband. Instead of letting it ruin our day, I proposed a "do over" – literally reenacting the conversation to see if we could handle it differently. 😲 Curious to see how it turned out? Click here to tune into this week's episode and discover the power of resetting your reactions. You might just find yourself inspired to press "reset" the next time a conversation doesn't go as planned! www.shiragura.com

    384: The Value of Self-Reflection

This week on the "You Can Handle Anything" podcast, we're exploring the transformative power of self-reflection. I've been emphasizing how taking a moment to pause and consider our actions and thoughts can significantly impact our personal growth and awareness. 🤔 In line with this theme, I'm excited to share a special episode featuring Jamie, a valued member of one of my communities. Jamie has graciously allowed us to delve into her journey of self-reflection and the profound changes it has brought to her life. 🌱 Tune in to hear Jamie's story and discover how you, too, can harness the power of self-reflection to foster growth and make more mindful choices in life. www.shiragura.com

383: Consider How Important It Is

Ever find yourself on the brink of a kitchen squabble over something as simple as boiling eggs? That happened to me recently, and it turned into an unexpected lesson in managing frustrations and choosing my battles. In the midst of me boiling some eggs, my husband came in out of nowhere and decided to switch pots to save energy—a small action that unexpectedly sparked a big internal reaction from me. I'm curious - would this have annoyed you? How do you think you would have reacted? Tune in to this week's "You Can Handle Anything" podcast to hear how I handle this very irritating situation with the help of The unSTUCK Method. www.shiragura.com

382: This World Needs to Take a STOP

This week's episode of the "You Can Handle Anything" podcast will be different. After the heart-wrenching news of the execution of six hostages in Israel, including Hersh Goldberg-Polin, a friend of friends, I found myself deeply affected. In light of this, I invite you to join me in taking a moment to pause—a stop that feels necessary right now, not just for me but perhaps for many of us. 🌍 In this episode, I share some music I've recently created, intended to accompany our moment of reflection. Thank you for your understanding, and I look forward to reconnecting with you next week. www.shiragura.com

    381: Living from Possibility

In this episode, I talk about living from possibility. Living from possibility means envisioning a better reality and actively shaping interactions to be more positive. It's about seeing past the cycle of negative experiences and using proactive communication to transform relationships. Embracing this approach can lead to more fulfilling connections, helping you move from conflict to harmony with confidence and ease. www.shiragura.com

380: Getting Stuck and Feeling Shame

In this podcast episode, I explore the common yet often unspoken issue of shame that many people feel when confronting negative emotions, getting emotionally stuck, or facing relationship problems. It's incredibly normal to feel embarrassed about needing tools to manage one's emotional health, but this shame is truly unnecessary. Once individuals join a supportive community, they quickly realize that everyone faces similar challenges, and there is great power and relief in shared experiences. By acknowledging and accepting these feelings openly, members can move past shame and work towards genuine improvement and empowerment together. This collective journey highlights the universality of emotional struggles and the benefits of facing them head-on. Learn more: www.shiragura.com

379: Use the Tool - It Works When You Use It!

Have you ever signed up for a gym membership full of enthusiasm, only to see it go unused? That's exactly what sometimes happens when it comes to using The unSTUCK Method. We know it's there, we know it can help us, we know it's within our reach and yet, we sometimes forget to use it. In this week's "You Can Handle Anything!" podcast, I explain why embracing The unSTUCK Method in your daily life is essential for making real changes in how you respond to life's emotional challenges. It's not just about knowing the steps, it's about actually applying them to your life. Every emotional situation is unique, and using the method consistently helps you navigate these effectively. This is a short episode in a 5-week series I created this month that came out of a recent conversation I had with a woman named Lisa. www.shiragura.com

    378: Language and Your Well-Being

In this podcast episode, I discuss the significant role of language in managing emotions and enhancing well-being. The term "stuck" is pivotal in my approach; recognizing when you're "stuck" on an emotion is crucial because it signals that there's a method to help you move forward. I encourage rephrasing emotional states, such as changing "I'm angry" to "I'm stuck on anger," to remind ourselves that emotions are temporary states we can navigate through. The ability to articulate feelings accurately not only helps in identifying emotions but also in adopting new perspectives to shift them. This mastery of language and its application in everyday life, as shared through personal and family experiences, underscores how powerful and transformative clear communication can be in resolving emotional challenges. www.shiragura.com

    377: Taking Personal Responsibility

This podcast focuses on the importance of taking personal responsibility, especially when feeling emotionally stuck. Often, the instinct is to blame others for our feelings, but this approach means we're not fully owning our part. Taking personal responsibility involves acknowledging, owning, and processing our own thoughts and emotions. By doing so, we reduce blame and better understand the true sources of our suffering, rather than projecting responsibility onto others. If more people embraced this mindset, it could lead to significant improvements in personal well-being and interpersonal relationships across the globe. 376: The Brat Pack and Andrew McCarthy

This week's "You Can Handle Anything" is going to be slightly different than usual. Instead of sharing one of my stories, I'm going to share with you someone else's. And that "someone else" is the actor, Andrew McCarthy. I'm going to dive into the intriguing story of Andrew McCarthy and the infamous "Brat Pack" label that shaped his career. The film captures his journey as he revisits old friends and questions whether the label or his reaction to it caused more harm. It's a powerful example of how external labels can trap us, and what it takes to break free and reclaim our identity. Click here to tune in and perhaps consider labels in your own life and the impact they've had on you. If you're in the Unstuck Revolution and have thoughts on the documentary, I'd love to hear them! 375: Release the Guilt

In this episode of "You Can Handle Anything," I explore the heavy and often sneaky nature of guilt, sharing a personal story from a recent family dinner. After deciding not to partake in desserts my mom made, I was unexpectedly overwhelmed by guilt, despite making a simple, healthy choice for myself. Guilt is a complex emotion that can quickly transform into self-resentment, reminding us that we're often our own harshest critics. During the podcast, I discuss how emotions are essentially energy in motion and how they can change, sometimes needing guidance to move in a constructive direction. I'll walk you through the specific steps of The unSTUCK Method that I used to navigate and transform my feelings of guilt. This method not only helped me understand my emotions but also taught me how to handle them effectively without letting them control me. Tune in to learn how to manage and transform guilt, and discover that you can handle anything life throws your way. www.shiragura.com

    374: Consider Agreeing to Disagree

Have you ever felt incredibly strongly about something, only to find yourself talking to someone who sees things the exact opposite way? Or maybe they just can't see your side at all? It's beyond frustrating. You might argue back and forth, but no matter what you say, they don't budge. It feels like you're the only one suffering, but it's likely tough for them, too. This is what unfolded for me last week with one of my kids, following up on last week's podcast episode where we clashed over something I found quite unethical. I turned to The unSTUCK Method to escape that frustrating deadlock because clinging to being right was getting us nowhere. In this week's "You Can Handle Anything" podcast, I dive into exactly what I did and the new perspectives I embraced to resolve this conflict. Because ultimately, we may not control the obstacles in our lives, but we can master our responses to them. www.shiragura.com

373: Consider Asking Permission to Share

Ever felt stuck on how to respond when someone close does something you disagree with? Reacting impulsively can damage relationships and make you regret your actions, while staying silent might leave you feeling like a doormat. Here's a tip: try asking for permission to share your feelings. It's a respectful way to communicate without overstepping, and if they're not open to it, you need to respect their choice. I faced a similar dilemma with my son recently. He sent a video from California that I found disappointing and unethical. Conflicted about how to respond, I used the unSTUCK Method.
